In BoLT 1, Fionwë was the son of Varda and Manwë. He featured in the Second Prophecy of Mandos, accompanying Manwë to contend with Melkor. He was also known as Fionwë Úrion.
Yet the idea of Varda and Manwë having any offspring was dropped in text D of the Ainulindalë, and Fionwë later became Eönwë, Herald of Manwë.
