Forostar, the Northlands, was the region occupying the northern promontory of Númenor.

It was the least fertile region of Númenor with little vegetation, instead having moors of heather together with some forests of larch and fir. The most notable feature of Forostar was the rocky heights at its northern end, rising steadily to the tremendous mountains of the North Cape. These mountains ended abruptly in sheer cliffs at the shores of Belagaer and were the abode of many great eagles.
