A mountainous cape that was the northernmost promontory of Forostar in Númenor into Belegaer, the Encircling Sea.

This high mountainous area was home to many eagles, and Tar-Meneldur Elentirmo chose the high peak of Sorontil, on the northwest coast of this North Cape, as the place to build his tower for his observations of the heavens. He resided there,in his tower, until he assumed the kingship of Númenor.
