Herucalmo was the husband of Tar-Vanimeldë. He was of the Line of Elros descended through Tar-Atanamir.

Tar-Vanimeldë did not care for ruling so Herucalmo wielded the power of the sceptre in her place. Upon her death he usurped the sceptre, claiming it for his own, and called himself Tar-Anducal. He refused to relinquish the sceptre to their son until his death.

He is not considered to be the seventeenth of the Kings of Númenor though as that title is given to his son, Tar-Alcarin.
