I like Savage Garden That fits into pop methinks??
I'm also very fond of old music.. (beatles,george michael,rem etc.) and soundtrack (LotR, lion king, grease, matrix)

Strange, Iar. I read that and Papercut came on Kerrang!! XD Fun. It's my favourite linkin' park song, first one i heard.:heart:

I voted rock. Anything from Good charlotte and simple plan to Iron Maiden and Black sabbath.. with everything in between! I went to the maiden gig not that long ago. Talk about a fun time! Kicked in the face by random people trying to jump over me! Rock on!

Music is a really important part of my life. I'm a guitarist, myself. Will start a band as soon as i have a drummer and a bassist! :dizzy: have the lead singer and backup guitarist already! ^_^ But all that aside, I'm amazed by music... the way it can potrey a sertain emotion and all that.. it's incredible. Thats why i don't like pop. Pouty boybands who rely on screaming fangirls to get famous and make money. Or britney spears-type blonde pretty girls who use sex to sell there stuff. Lets face it, all these guys really sing about is sex. It shouldn't be like that.. it should be about the music.
Thats why i can apretiate any band who can actually play instruments, and who can actually sing about real feelings or something thats important to them.

Oh, god. Look! I'm ranting again.:dizzy:

I listen to Industrial hard rock, and sometimes classical..
My favourite band is defnitely Rammstein.

I like rock (or what I think fits under rock, anyway...). My two favorite bands, groups or whatever either has to be Relient K or Switchfoot. I've lately been very into my music and the radio (KTIS, yay!). I like Christian (contemporary) music.

I love lots of different kinds of music! I like rock music, classical music, folk music, ... I only don't like country and heavy metal.

Classic rock/progressive rock fan here. Today I'm listening to the Yardbirds, a British band who spawned Led Zeppelin at their break-up, and was the band Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, and Jimmy Page all played in. Some yreat tunes they have!

Hard to say, probably rock. Though most of my faves don't fit any of those genres. Leonard Cohen, Eric Clapton, Sting, U2... Plus I adore celtic music, especially bagpipes.

I cannot honestly say that I have a favourite band or group. I like music of many different styles, with the possible exception of country-western music. Classical rock would probably be at the top of my list.

Hurrah for Celtic music!

I love Alan Stivell, and Catryn Finch, who are both harpers. I love old folk songs and stuff like that.

And good female singers - I love Tori Amos, Kate Bush, Bjork, Dead Can Dance.

Or my classmate's punk band, De Kobolden.
But I wanna hear only bands who write their own music... not those who get their text from their manager/company, those are pathetic.

But I generally listen to a vast variety: rock, punk, j-rock, anime, film music, pomo, grunge, Drum&Bass, gothic...

Whoa! I love Savage Garden! It feels great to know that somebody else here on CoE likes SG! I already know about Eloise, but hey, the more the merrier!
I like bands like 3 Doors Down, Staind, Nickelback and Evanescence too.
Of course the LotR-soundtracks, and like somebody said, Celtic music is great.
The music from the musical Chess is adorable, I can't stop listening to it!

hmmm... i voted oldies, cuz my all time fav is Simon and Garfunkel... the only one being possibly better is the LotR soundtracks... but pop... can... be... okay, i guess...
Rock music always reminds me of what my PE teacher plays when we have to run or lift weights, so that's not exactly the best connection, for me ne way...
Rap music... *shudder* can't stand it! (no insult meant).... i just have an odd aversion to it...
and basic vocal's good too! like "Magic To Do" from Pippin... which is a musical, as well as a hobbit, even if he is something of a musical hobbit...
and ambient is great... enya, Deep Forest
and harp music is amazing, like Venar and Geisler (very local band...well, duet, and they play in the pedestrian malls and have one cd...) but it's gorgeous... hard to get a hold of contemporary harp compositions...

My favorite performer is Bryan Adams. Other than that, I'll listen to anything with a melody, and especially anything with guitars. I do prefer real instruments to electronic ones, and I'm not a big fan of heavy bass lines, so I'll avoid dance, hip-hop, rap and the like. I do listen to metal and hard rock, though. I also like Celtic music, and some folk. Classical, especially Bach and Sibelius (what a combo!), some show tunes and even some country. Lately I've even started to listen to some opera...

Pretty strong feelings on this one...

The Smashing Pumpkins, without a doubt, are the greatest band ever...

Followed by Led Zepellin, The Police, A Tribe Called Quest, LL Cool J, and Depeche Mode!

But I can listen to anything (other than Country&Western music.)

Good Charlotte. Definately.
Music is definately a GREAT output for emotion, I write song lyrics and poetry all the time, I'm in a band named free, and we still need a bassist, drummer and second guitarist but...hey! at least we're a band! lol
I've written 2 songs for our band so far (its new) and its great fun.
I'm also supportive of new bands, my mom owns a coffee shop and every friday is teen night, sometime bands come there to play christian rock and its real fun to listen to they're music style.

I'm a rocker all the way. i love Three Days Grace, Disturbed, Evanescence, Linkin Park, Yellow Card, and Story of the Year.
