I actually feel sorry for Ronaldo. I know I shouldn't because I'm English, but still! The way he was booed(sp?) in the game against Germany!
You mean the game against France? The match Portugal vs. Germany will be tomorrow!

Germany's out of the WC... :confuse:... so is Portugal...the only game left to play is France vs Italy!

Well, good for Germany, they deserved the third place, at least
But Portugal was brave and reached an honorous place too.

I confess I was very surprised to see Itay beating Germany
Well, that´s the way football is, many surprises.

My favs team was Argentina (for Soth America) and Portugal, but I have French family too, I´m something like half-French in one side, I don´t know why I am not such a big fan of France.

May the best of the best be the champion of the world

I agree. It should have been Germany.

Or France. Or Argentina. Or Portugal. But Italy? :nono:

Pity that France lost the final, but somehow it was Zidane's fault. I can not understand, why a superb player like Zizou can act like a madman. :nono:

The real final for me was the game for the third place Germany vs. Portugal. The German team is the World Champion of hearts! :love: :heart:

I'm just curious to know what Materazzi could have said to make Zidane react like that. I guess it could have been some kind of racist comment or something, but surely players get called every offensive name in the book during tackles. But I guess we'll never know.

Perhaps it is too embarassing? There are rumours that Materazzi said something very insulting and called Zidane's sister a prostitute.

Today I am sad because Klinsmann quit as Germany's coach. :sob:

This World Cup will be remembered for Zidane's behaviour and not for Italy's win as some newspaper said.

Apparently all the insults mentioned were true but what made ZZ finally snap was when Materazzi said he was only good enough to play for Manchester city!

The 2006-07 Premiership is underway & a bit of a surprise result already: Chelsea beaten 2-1 at Middlesboro! The draw for the Champions League group stages has also been made. Manchester United got a very nice group; Celtic, Benfica (nightmares after last year!) & FC Copenhagen. Very little travelling involved which is great. Chelsea face Barca yet again & Liverpool will have a daunting trip to Galatasaray. All 4 English sides should progress I think.

I think I've already posted here before but right now I'm watching a a soccer match. It's the Copa America Venezula 2007. Since Ecuador has gone home I'm going for Argentina all the way and if not them then Brazil.
