"Vairë the Weaver is the spouse [of Mandos], who weaves all things that have ever been in Time into her storied webs, and the halls of Mandos that ever widen as the ages pass are clothed with them."
- J.R.R. Tolkien
Little is known of Vairë. She was not considered one of the great Valar, and there is no record of her taking part in the struggles against Morgoth. However she did play an important part as the recorder of Arda's history.
History itself is made up of many things. Facts - which most people think of first - are not necessarily all it entails. Woven under the title of history, things like literature, poetry, music and art, can all be found.
The Realm of Vairë is one such place where we piece together our love for all of these things.
And where would the History of Middle Earth be without corruption? Inside our realm rages a war of good and evil which we will share with you too! Enjoy!
We have many talented poets in the Realm of Vairë. There are several poetry threads where members can share their works and every once in a while we have poetry contests where members can dazzle us with their superb writings. So far, we have had two poetry contests and both have been a success. The prize for the last one was to their poems featured in this month's Realm Newsletter.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the winners' work from the past two contests!
And here are the winners... Morcollo, lilybeth, White_lady_of_Ithilien, Voronwevinyamar

TOLKIEN AND BEOWULFby Dolwen
Beowulf is an Old English poem believed to have been written between the middle of the seventh century and the end of the tenth century A.D.
"One writes such a story out of the leaf-mould of the mind."
J.R.R. Tolkien.
Fíriel is the moderator of the Elvish 101 section but she is also a weaver. Apart from being on hand to help us with the occasional Elvish activity, Fíriel is always ready to help us with computer things such as coding and websites. She chooses to remain 'neutral' mostly in the area of realm corruption but has been seen to be more on the 'good' side as she rejects bribes from the evil overlords. Interview with Fíriel
MEMBER OF THE MONTH - DOLWEN
Dolwen joined the ranks of the weavers in March this year. We would like to acknowledge her wonderful participation. Dolwen is our Birthday Wagoneer and also one of our quote finders. She also organised the Realm Trivia Quiz in Vairë which has now expanded to include some of the other realms. Dolwen is also one of our uncorrupted weavers and has been very instrumental in the war against the corruption of the handmaidens. Interview with Dolwen
