A is for Adûnakhôr, a rare shortened form of the name Ar-Adûnakhôr, taken by the twentieth King of Númenor. This name was seen as an act of rebellion against the Elves and the Valar, because the Númenórean Kings had traditionally taken their names from the High-elven tongue, whereas Adûnakhôr came from their native Adûnaic language.
