TNP will be taking a vacation sometime this coming year.

I do actually. Growing up in a family of building contractors, and having a mother who was very handy with household maintenance tasks, teaches you a lot of useful skills.

TNP knows how to clean the trap under the kitchen, or bathroom, sink.

I treated myself to four more books, despite having a backlog of 70-ish books, not including the 7 I received as Christmas gifts (plus the books I've already read in my own existing personal library of about 50+). Others might call it unnecessary, however, I buy books all the time, so I wouldn't personally say it was unnecessary, I'm a book collector, and I do re-read them at some point, if I don't give them away.

TNP keeps things that they don't need anymore.

Extremely likely! The problem is that I (we) mostly have practically forgotten that we have the stuff (due to year-, perhaps decades-long non-use), and are therefore ignorant of the possibility of clearing some living space for ourselves (perhaps aided and abetted by our having increased the square footage of our apartments - and cellars! with every time we moved).

TNP gets rid of items of apparel each year by a simple approach: have I worn this stuff within the last year? If no, outta here!

Yep! I actually have something called a Capsule Wardrobe- a wardrobe consisting of only five pairs of pants, two skirts, two dresses, four t shirts, two blouses, and two cardigans. All of these items match with each other because of a color palette that I go by.

"Fan" would definitely be an exaggeration. For me, "Star Trek" the film series comes closer to the truth. But neither comes close to "LoTR".

The Redwood / Sequoia giants on the west coast of the US. We are just such ants next to them, it should instill awe in us. To a point, I consider loggers to be sick people.

I do. My favourite vegetable is broccoli... or peas. I haven't quite made my mind up. I always have a lot of them when I make dinner. I don't like it when there isn't any available.

The closest to that I can think of is my by now almost 22-year involvement with a central IT program suite in my company (from SAP, Germany's largest IT company) centering on calculation, controlling and bookkeeping.
