Sir Ian McKellen did an amazing job as Gandalf as did Sir Christopher Lee as Saruman. I agree with you Gandolorin about Gimli be treated as a comic relief. Radagast could have also been treated with better respect as he was a member of the Istari. Also they didn't do a good job with Faramir but that's another story.

I liked Gandalf, but Legolas was easier to relate to. It's a shame that so many of the older cast members are no longer with us.
