Hahahhahaaha, LadyRanger; I think there's quite a few of us around here with a nickname list as long as Aragorn's!
Its amazing what people will do just so they don't have to say your full name all the time!

Keep 'em coming, y'all!! I love hearing everyone's nicknames! :love:

~ Smarthead, School-lover. Hey, I don't like them, but when you're having good results, the names come with them.
~ Nerdgirl. My parents call me that every time I say something about LotR.

LOL LadyRanger, I end up as Nazgul sometimes too, usually when I get mad in the chat... heheh

Now let's have a look what's on the list apart from that...

Saurid - my old internet nick which stems from my old network's name, SauridNet <-- lol
Maedhros - my CoE chat nick and also my SN on one or two message boards - the name of my very favourite Tolkien character
Mae - a variation of the abovementioned, made up by those who weren't able to type the full name without typos
keywiz - my SN on one of the message boards, comes from my now long forgotten love for Dream Theater's keyboard player, Jordan Rudess whose old Internet nick was keywiz
Nazgul - explanation above , and also my nick on thetolkienforum.com
Tusiatko - that's something I can't translate into english by any means, lol, it's derived from my real name [though you wouldn't tell... ] and it's what my man calls me
Nossarniel - I use it sometimes in the chat, it's the name of my RPG character

And a few more, but I like being in disguise sometimes so won't reveal everything at once

Bambi- we got lost and the other group thought one of us had died. Someone said I had. Then someone else replied "you couldn't kill Eloise, that would be like maiming Bambi!" It stuck.

Basil- My hair got kind of tangled. Infact it was so bad we had to give it a name and we called it Basil. Now I know why Aragorns hair is always so bad!

Rebel- because I'm the least rebelious person in the group. lol, sarcasm at its best!

Karate nicks
Miss united nations- I'm the diplomatic one!

Jaws- because of my braces. Some frends!:angry:

Hmmm..ok...

I had a bud at school that used to call me "Cathinator" (my real name can probably be guessed from that ). He called me it in about year nine and it just 'stuck'. It used to be funny because in high school I never said boo to a goose, and yet I had this mean-sounding nickname

"Haldir" comes up every now and then if I am trying to tell people my online nickname to their face. They think I am just doing the Aussie trick of dropping the 'h' and they call me 'Haldir'. Flattering, were I male.

The parents gave me "Blossom" and "Possum".

The rest of the family probably have given me four-letter ones that I'd be better off not knowing about.

My sister calls me "Lucius", after the character 'Lucius Malfoy' from Harry Potter. I would, again, be quite flattered by this were I a male. I asked mother about my sister's seemingly unlikely comparison and she said something to the effect of "Well, the curl of the lip is the same."

About the only similarity I can see is the hair-though mine is longer.

I had "Rum Tum" for a while. No, I'm not a boozer-it's after the character 'Rum Tum Tugger' from Cats. But it was thought (by some) that I had the same level of dissatisfaction with everything. You know the story-if I'm inside, I want to be out. If there's mudcake for dessert, I'd want donuts etc...

Everywhere else, it's Cath. Can't escape it. Ever. From anyone. I don't really mind this-it could be a lot worse.
But I don't know why I keep getting compared with male characters...*looks at self in mirror and tears up* I'm not that masculine, I don't think...:dizzy:

I think my favourite of the lot is the "Cathinator". Thanks, Dunc!

Oh oh oh I forgot one (how could I forget this one). Spock. Because if you ask me the right question, you'll get a very good answer.

Most everybudy calls me Crusty Lunch (but just because it sounds like my real name... Christy Lynch, I'm not really a crusty person... I promise!) and it's quite embarassing, cuz EVERYONE calls me that! Friends at church, dance, school, etc... and it's especially unnerving when, not to long ago, I found myself responding to it! Yea... people look at you pretty weird when someone goes, "Hey, Crusty!" and I go, "What!?" Oh well... I'm pretty much used to it, it's been going on for some years now.


ROFL! OMG, Christy - I almost spit out my cheerios when I read that! hehe...pretty cute nickname there!

Hmm...I only have a few nicknames now that I'm an adult:

(all based on my given name which is NOT Danielle, btw)

Stinky (yes, I do shower on a daily basis )

(names my brother calls me)

My childhood nicknames were:

Polly (I have no idea why my grandfather called me this)
Peanut (I was a pretty small kid)
Turtle ('cause I was shy and I was "always in my shell")
Giraffe (again, a weird variatioin on my real name)
Geranium (yet another weird variation of my real name)
Snorty (don't know why, but my mom called me this)

I guess I respond to Dan the most, 'cause I actually call myself this when I leave messages for people. Yeah, kinda odd to be a girl named Dan.

Okay, I've acquired another nickname myself...err...more of a pet name really, but its Sweet Little Angel. :love:

Hmm....don't know me too well now does he? LOL Maybe I'm just a little devil with an angel visage...yeah...sure.

well, my real name, marte, means pearl.. so my mum calls me "perle" some times... (norwegian for pearl)

and one of my friends calls me mellon nin ( which I also call her...), mirfain and marilla some times... ( she loves LOTR as well... )

I don't really have any nicknames now. I had a couple back when I was in school...

Ostrich (because I used to put my arms on my desk and hide my head in them...I was very shy)

Carol Lynnie (just an endearment name from my uncle, my name is Carol Lynn)

Fatso Fogherty (another uncle name, I don't know why because I was thin back then)

Gaa Gaa (believe it or not, my last name back then was Gaa)

I can't remember any more, seems strange that I don't have a nickname now, even though my hubby calls me geek sometimes.

Lessee, there's Kelly, which was taken from Celebrinth, my favorite RPG character's name. :love: Mostly what I am called in everyday life anyway.

My non-best-friend - From the friend I'm doing my History Day project with...the History Day packet told us that we shouldn't necessarily do this project with our best friend because everyone has different working styles...pah. (The conversations usually goes like this: "So , how are you doing, my non-best-friend?" "Just fine, my other-non-best-friend..." due to a little mistake I made with saying "other" after being addressed as the former...)

One, From a very close old friend.
Neet, A elder woman that was very dear to me :heart:.
Nena, this was a friend with a speach problem. He had a hard time saying, Anita. I just smiled at him and said "I like it." He was the only person that called me that.
Cateyes, My husband called me that when we were dating :love:.
Then, of course, hobbitmom, had become not only my name on CoE but also a Nickname.

Genna, I usually go by.
Greenbean, few friends call me that, even mom.
"Mrs. Greenleaf", I was called by by a boy at my school. He got beaten up for it. He should know that Elves don't go by Mr., Mrs., Miss, or Ms.!
Legolas - We are given the names of the LotR characters that our personality matches with. Mine's the Elven Archer himself.
