Today, August 20th, 2005, is John Noble’s birthday. He was born in 1948 in Port Pirie, Australia, and he will be turning 57 today. You can read his cast bio here and there are pictures of John in the role of Denethor here.

Odd Einar Dørum, Norway’s Minister of Justice and Police, has announced that he will be joining (in costume) the procession which will take place before the performance of the Lord of the Rings symphony in Frogner Park, Oslo on 27th August.

Mr Dørum, a LotR fan, states that he is “mostly a hobbit at heart”. You can read the full story here and there are further details about the symphony performance here.

The winners of the 2005 Mythopoeic Society awards have been announced. Janet Brennan Croft received the Mythopoeic Scholarship Award in Inklings Studies for her book, War and the Works of J.R.R. Tolkien.

The Lord of the Rings e-post section of Ian McKellen’s official site has been updated. One of the things he reveals is that he has yet to watch any of the three movies on DVD.
