Book Club reads ‘The Return of the King’

The Book Club will start reading and discussing the third part of the trilogy, The Return of the King, from Monday May 31st on.

Silva Screen Records release LOTR CD

Silva Screen Records will be releasing a 2-CD set of the music of the three LOTR films. Nic Raine and the City of Prague Philharmonic, who do many of that label’s soundtrack recordings, will be among the artists. More info can be found at Silva Screen.

The house in Oxford, England, where Professor Tolkien wrote The Hobbit and much of Lord of the Rings, is up for sale for £1.5 million. You can read more about the house at Telegraph Property.

The LotR symphony in Hartford, CT

The Hartford Symphony Orchestra will perform the LotR symphony on 19th September. Howard Shore wil be conducting. Tickets are now on sale, for further details go to Hartford Symphony.

LotR footage leaves New Zealand

The New Zealand Herald report that the last of the original film footage of the trilogy has left New Zealand to be stored in the US. Jay Berryman, who organised the move, said, “Out of 2255km of footage, only 17km made the final cut” and the footage not used, “contained thousands of out-takes and behind-the-scenes shots”.

The Council of Entwives now has a Forum
