I cryed during that part. His song and the music with showing faramir going on a mission to reclaim the taken city was so emotional! He has a beautiful voice.

I believe the lyrics are something to the effect of:

Home is behind, the world ahead
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows, to the edge of night
Until the stars are all alight
Mist and shadow, cloud and Shade
All shall fade, all shall fade

To be honest, about a second before he started singing, I really didn't think it'd work, but as soon as he started singing I was lost, lol. His voice is incredible! And, even though 'Into the West' is great, I actually liked his song a teeny bit more. ^^;;

I love this song! I love anything celtic and this song has a celtic feel to it. Billy just made the song so hauntingly beautiful. He can sing in my house anytime!! (I wish he would!)

Yeah, I agree... Billy has a beautiful voice. But Denether's actions as he was singing were just disturbing. His son was going on a suicide mission, and he's sitting comfortably eating away in his castle. The overall intensity of that scene put a lump in my throat, that's for sure.

Well, after all I think this moment has an interpretation, the food during Pippin song means what´s Denethor is doing with his son, even the red juice in his mouth: as the blood of those he´s sacrifying.
Is one of my favorites scenes of Rotk

I brought my friend who severly dislikes the LOTR movies, and she fell in love with Pippin because of that part.

I can't wait to send that clip to her.

I was already in love with Pippin, but this...well this sent me over the edge . It was one of the scenes I had accidentally heard about, and was looking forward to it sooooo much..and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful moments of the film. *melts*

Oh My God i think billy boyd has such a wonderful voice, when i heard him sing the song i kind of went emotional because of the scenes they were showing when faramir was going to battle, i say he should be a professional singer.

The was great, and yes it was very emotional. Though I don't see the meaning in crying over it, for I did not cry. Did anyone else NOT cry? :dizzy:

Yes. You are right. It was one of my favourite scenes too. It reminded me of Kronos devouring his children. And in my opinion Pippin is actually singing for and about Faramir, not for Denethor.

I didn't cry I didn't cry at all during the film, which is strange. But probably it was because I had spent already 9 hours in the cinema at that point...

But Pippin's song is one of the strongest scenes in the whole trilogy methinks. Very emotional.

I LOVED the song! BIlly boyd does have an incredible voice and the song lyrics and tune are beautiful! It made me cry aswell! though i cried quite a bit through the film! This was my favourite scene, though it was ruined by Denethors eating, not only because of the Faramir going away to die but he ate in such a DISGUSTING way, uuurgh i can hear the noises and see the juice now ooooooooh.
but still i loed the scene and it was very beautiful.
