I am very new here and since this is only my second post, I've no idea if this is the right place for this but here goes....

I really love the 2-sided Aragorn (Strider) bookmark done by CelonethIthilien The border designs are a great touch and I just always liked the Strider persona best....that whole 'wandering king in disguise' idea.

So I'll also include a thank you to the person who made the avie that I found in the pool...

To think, I was just wondering one day if I could find a few pics from the movie and bingo! I found the motherload!

*Sigh* I always have trouble with first time portraits. So here is Peter for "The Chronicles of Narnia". I noticed that the shading is really messed up (that's because I have been looking at three different pictures of him for reference but the one picture here is the main one). So don't pay too much attention to the shading but if you see anything else that needs to be changed (head shape etc....) please do tell me. Any Critiques are welcomed. Thank you (I'll up-date this too if you want to see my progress)

Wow! That looks really great. The only thing I think I'm seeing is that you've made his face just a little bit longer than his is...like the nose seems just a tiny bit too long.

Remember I can't draw to save my life so my eye could be way off too.....

Hello everyone.

I'm posting a picture of a character drawing I did for Annûniel so she can let me know what she wants changed. Mind you, I certainly don't mind any critique I get from anyone else and I have a thick skin so don't be afraid to tell me if you see how I can improve. I know my work can always use improvment and I REALLY appreciate good critiques as long as they are constructive with the critisim. You all seem to be very helpful here so I feel pretty confident that I won't get anything but helpful words on how to improve my art.

This picture was a response to a PM I got from Annûniel when I posted that I was a bored artist. She was kind enough to let me have at her character database and I chose to draw Fredel (again, I'm sorry I'm butchering the name but my keyboard lacks accent keys, I got Annûniel's name by cpoying and pasting. ). She is a lovely young woman and has an interesting history so you should go check her out in the database. :love:

Here's the line drawing I did last night and I'll be working on the color version soon.

Hey guys, you're all so very talented!
I figured I'd post some of my scribbles.

First, here's a picture of two of the three grace's (the third was rubbish) and yes, I know the hand is mongofied:

Hi!

A while ago I made a short clip using Howard Shore's wonderful music and various Middle Earth drawings. This is supposed to encourage others to read other works of J.R.R. Tolkien, especially The Silmarillion. There are some errors, but bear with me, it's just for fun.

Hey there ! This is my first post not including my newbie post and thought id share my first LotR fan video. Its almost 10 minutes long so I hope its not to much but my comfort zone is writing so its a new thing for me to make a vid.

Id prefer really honest opinions because id rather know if anything isnt very good. I may make more but im not sure yet.

The Title is The Sorrow Of Middle Earth and follows the story of the fellowship of the ring. Im nervous now submitting this to such a big community especially LotR experts and super fans! Arghh

Well you certainly shouldn't be nervous, Chris. I was mesmerised. Absolutely beautiful and your choice of music was outstanding. I recognised 'Last of the Mohicans' (one of my all time favourite films) immediately and 'Pirates of the Caribbean' too. Very well chosen.

I definitely hope there will be more videos from you.

Hi I'm new to the forum.

I really have really enjoyed the fan creation so far. I have been working on some my self in the form of photomanips.

Basically what I am doing is taking Tolkiens sketched from The Hobbit and turning them into photographs.

My first work is the Elven King's Gate

My only concern is the gate I like the organic look that it has and the ornate quality. The reason the gate looks metalic is because the only clue I could find is that the gate close with a clang. In my research I have read all of what little was written by Tolkien on the subject. The only info I could find on the construction of the gates was that they may have been crafted by the Dwarves for Orophirl's people. So I used titanium to overlay them, and from the sketch I have alway envisioned more of a set of double door than a traditional gate, which would not seem to be much of hinderance to enemies.

Feel free to critisize (constuctively) or comment.

Right now I working on Conversation with Smaug if anyone is interested in and likes to do photomanips please let my know if you like this idea.

Ok so I made a few crowns since this attempt and they did pretty well on eBay, so well infact I've decided to set up my own website (www.elvenjewels.com). I haven't finished the site yet so it's not up, but you can see a draft for it here.

Anyway the reason for this post is, I've made a few other crowns but I finally gave another go at the Arwen one.

Heres a few pictures of it:


It hasn't got a butterfly back because I'm in a routine of making crowns so they are adjustable to fit most head sizes. I may attempt ones with butterflys on the back, but only if someone requested it I guess.

Oh and if it interests any of you, this crown is currently on auction at eBay (very naughty of me to say that, I know!)

I would like to thank atalante_star for her wonderful and thought-provoking artwork. I've been away from the Council of Elrond for a couple of years, and yet during that time, sometimes I would come back here and search out her artwork to just sit and stare at it. Her round symbols for each of the Valar, especially are favorites.

I asked her for permission to print out her symbol for Ulmo, years ago, and atalante_star, I printed two copies. One sits in a sealed frame on my boat and the other is above my desk where I can see it right now as I type.

I started about two (maybe three, I don't really know) months ago with drawing and painting again. I did some painting and drawing before but I never made a serious attempt to practise and improve my art, but now I really want to learn how to draw elves and other beautiful things. I've been practising a lot, and in my fan art gallery here on this site, you can see my drawings (and also a couple of paintings). I will add new artwork when I finish it. If you want to comment on them, please do so. I appreciate critics or things I can use to improve my drawings very much Thank you.

I invite gentle Critiques and suggestions on how to improve my story. I am not American-born and don't know the subtleties of good grammar and such.
