Well, if you must know, I wouldn't bother with the "litter thingy" and move straight on to house breaking.

I think the only one with the character (arrogance) to feel offended would be Saruman. But I would ... err ... hope that the presence of the truly wise (and there were more participants to the White Council than shown in TH the movie, Glorfindel was certainly a member!) would rein him in.

No one would be able to do that, because the Witch-King would either have taken a powder to the farthest east, or have committed suicide to avoid the duel. Gandalf the GREY fought all nine to a draw on Weathertop, Gandalf the WHITE would have made mince - ahhh - something of the Witch-King if the latter had stayed at the gate of Minas Tirith long enough (forget the chicken droppings PJ showed in his movie - PJ loves the baddies too much).

WWYD if the Witch-King implored you to help him avoid a duel with Gandalf the White, which would lead to the Witch-King's imminent and utter destruction?

Well, the first thing I would do would be to tell them to remove their heavy robes, after that it should be a cinch: I mean, it's not as though they actually weight much.
