Unfortunately, Celeborn came along and through threw a jealous fit over the attention Gimli was giving Galadriel.

"The Corrupteds' favourite hobby is annoying Istar members of CoE!"

Fortunately, Galadriel just happened to have the basin functioning as her mirror with her, and doused Celeborn with its contents, which calmed him down instantly.

Fortunately, Gimli calmed Celeborn down by telling him that the shrunk garments now fitted him (i.e. Gimli) almost perfectly and that he (i.e. Gimli) would love to take them over from Celeborn.

Fortunately, Celeborn quickly noticed that the shrinkage of his garments had reached a stage that his voice now sounded like rodent squeaks, so he quickly disappeared from sight to effect a badly needed change of attire.

Fortunately, Galadriel's attire in the baggage were perfectly fine with Celeborn as replacements for his shrunken stuff which now fitted Gimli.

Fortunately, Galadriel still had the basin functioning as her mirror, and the filled jug to fill the basin up with again, so she calmly but very firmly asked Celeborn if he found his previous change of attire so much fun that he wanted a repeat of the experience.

Fortunately, Galadriel's basin still functioned perfectly as her mirror, so she let him look in it to make him realize that a facial color of puce is ... well, there's one consonant that needs to be exchanged ...

Fortunately, water had been spilling from Galadriel's mirror all the time, so the mud created by this spillage was just as effective as an antidote to Celeborn's hives.

Fortunately, Celeborn used enough of the mud to cure his hives in the morning to save Gollum from the fate of being entirely baked in what we would nowadays call bricks by the midday or later sun.

Fortunately, the pieces of mud which Gollum kept flicking off his body continuously hit the Orcs who had thought they had captured him in the eyes, enraging them to (in a quite literal sense) blindly slash away and exterminate each other, leaving Gollum alone if still not entirely mud-free and thus not entirely happy.

Unfortunately, the river was flowing much to quickly for him to catch the fish without a boat, which he didn't have on hand.

Fortunately, when Gollum told Beorn how his mud-flicking had (if unpremeditatedly) led the Orcs trying to capture him to mutual self-destruction, Beorn's mood mellowed: he actually chuckled, and left Gollum undamaged.
