On the large, heavy end of the spectrum, yes: a notebook (or laptop).

TNP will wait until the first Advent Sunday before doing anything related to Christmas.

Too late. I've started the religious Christmas stuff already (music, the hymns are just too good to pass up once November hits and retail starts holidays) and we put up our tree the day to two after Thanksgiving.

TNP owns a phone that is not Apple

Our main feast is on Christmas Eve, traditionally limited to family living very close by (i.e. currently none).
What may happen until then – wife’s mum is again not doing well …

Sorry to hear that your mother-in-law is unwell, Gando. Hopefully she'll be feeling better by Christmas.

No, I have a false coal one, though! It's my sole source of heat within my house currently, with the electric shower.

TNP has a favourite blanket.

Ew no. If I read news, it's via Facebook or Twitter, or it shows up on my Google suggesteds. Generally I stay away from the news as it depresses me further than I already deal with.

TNP has a Twitter.

I don't watch any sport, but I do watch the ones I enjoy on a regular basis. I must confess to being a 'northern' type as I prefer winter sports.

TNP has a favourite sports player.

I do, however it does change every now again. At the moment they're a football (European football - the proper one) player but I can't decide between two: Lionel Messi and Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior.

TNP is planning a holiday (vacation) soon.

Basically, I’m now on permanent vacation. But if you mean a trip of some sort, nothing planned.

TNP prefers trains to planes for long trips.

We eat turkey schnitzels fairly often, but that has nothing to do with the US’s thanksgiving meals.

TNP’s favorite warm meal meat is pork.

My preferred corn (aka maize in the nominally civilized parts of the world) is the on-the-cob with salted butter variety. So from that point of view yes (but what exactly would non-sweet corn be?).

TNP likes tofu.

That's what we commonly call maize in Britain: sweetcorn. That's the name it is sold under also.

I actually quite enjoy tofu.

TNP can read and/or write in a non-Latin script.

Very iffy. About 30 years ago, I learned the Korean Hangul script and was able to “read” it quite proficiently, but I never learned more than a few scraps of Korean, including perhaps the most important phrase in any language, thank you: kamsa hamnida. By now, things have gotten very rusty.

TNP speaks a dialect of their native language that would be close to unintelligible to people living in other parts (states, counties, whatever …) of their native country.

Sort of. I speak the Shanghai dialect of Chinese, which is unintelligible in other parts of China. However, I've never lived in China, and despite being bilingual, I consider English to be my native language.

TNP grew up speaking multiple languages.

During my family’s time in Pakistan and the early time in India, I may have spoken Urdu respectively Hindi; but that would have been at the level of a three-year-old respectively maximum six-year-old. It has shrunk to a vocabulary of about two handfuls of words of Hindi by now.

TNP is able to read and write in Tengwar script (as JRRT did in his diary for a while).

I am. It's something I love doing, too. It means nobody can be nosy... unless they too can read Tengwar.

TNP has a favourite snack food.
