Welcome to the Council of Elrond!

“…You have come and are here met, in this very nick of time, by chance as it may seem. Yet it is not so. Believe rather that it is so ordered that we, who sit here, and none others, must now find counsel for the peril of the world.”

Welcome to the Council of Elrond! You have stumbled upon one of the largest resource sites on the web offering a variety of unique features based on the creative works of J.R.R. Tolkien, including The Lord of the Rings. Come on in and register, then jump in and get involved. If you are looking for tons of quality images, feel free to visit our Gallery. We also have a forum if you’re interested in serious discussion, drooling over your favorite characters, or roleplaying with other site members. Other sections of the site, such as the Languages section, Elrond’s Library, and the Encyclopedia offer opportunities to learn more about the worlds and cultures that Tolkien created. Of course, there is more on this site than we can mention here, so feel free to jump right in, and experience one of the best Tolkien sites on the net.

Lord Of The Rings Movie Watchathon

Starting on December 5th we will be having a marathon LOTR viewing followed by a discussion in the Movie forum. The idea is to watch all three movies, preferably the extended editions, in the course of a day. For those of weaker constitutions you can take the whole weekend or, if you prefer, one movie per weekend over three weeks. Each of the movies will be discussed separately each week to accommodate these stragglers. The discussion threads will appear on the following Monday.

Ideas for discussion topics for each movie should be PMed to findemaxam48. More details are available in the Movie forum thread titled LOTR Movie Marathon . You can ask for a reminder on this thread if you want it.

See what we mean and check it out here .

Anyway, hope you like it and if you have any questions at all about it then please just ask.
Kind regards,
Chris Thomson

“So he’s a guardian of Middle-earth is he?” Fili muttered with distaste. “What part does this old fool look after? The swamps?”
Kili shrugged.
“I suppose all parts need watching.”
“Keeps the frogs in line, does he?” Fili whispered back.
“Hush!” Bilbo said with a sharp elbow in Fili’s side. “At least he’s not here to hurt us. That’s something.”
“But not much,” Nori countered. “No wonder he lives out of sight.”
