Pretty tough decision! I voted for Rivendell. But Lothlorien or the Shire would be great too, or Gondor, or Rohan...

Why, Isengard! Nice cosy house (lots of stairs to run up and down when you need some exercise during rainy days). And very close to Fanghorn forest (hope Treebeard would not mind me as a new tennant). Mountains around as well. Not so far to the plains of Rohan, not to mention GAP of Rohan to do some shopping. Just remember I was the first to claim this estate!!

The shire for this hobbit! There's no where else in the world that i'd rather be (except maybe in the theaters watching ROTK...sigh). Every time I'm having a bad day and feel like escaping, I think of bagend.
But I would like to retire in Rivendell or something, kinda like Bilbo. Live out the rest of days somewhere calm.

For me, I would choose Rohan because of it's culture, however, Lothlorien would be quite an interesting place to live as well.

I'd love to be of Rohan- I like the culture too- its awesome. The whole thing of being a horse lord strikes me as just wicked awesome

aaaiii such a hard choise.... but I have to say Rivendell mainly becourse of Elronds liberary (hmm spelled wrong??) although I think Lothlorien is the most beautiful place :love: well guess that I can take a bagfull of books and go there for vacation, right

I also chose Rivendell. First of all, it is place of peace, as it has been mentioned. Secondly it is very beautiful place, waterfalls and all. Specially in the movies it was most beautiful.
It was also the place where Celeborn moved after Galadriel's departure.

But since that's not an option...I would probably live in Rivendell, just to see Glorfindel But Rivendell is so beautiful.

I watched the images of lothlorien in FOTR with a hanging jaw.. where else can be so wonderful?? Omigosh, that would be AWESOME to have swinging ropes instead of bridges! And it's so quiet, so beautiful *drools*. i love nature.

..AND HALDIR LIVES (or lived..) THERE!!! MUAHAHAHAAA

I'd really like to live in Ithilien or the Grey Havens, but since that wasn't an option I placed my vote on The Shire. Rohan wouldn't be too bad either.

I voted for Gondor since the culture is a pleasant mix of elvish and human
Also, Gondor has Ithillien, which is my favorite place in ME--- in the movie it was pretty; Tolkien's description of it is utterly breathtaking. Even though I've never seen it (except in my mind's eye) I love Ithillien! :love:
If I couldn't live in Ithillien :cry: I would have to choose The Shire, it's such a pretty place-- so happy, quiet and peaceful.

I need some peace and quiet so I picked The Shire. I would however like to visit Minas Tirith and I would like to go on a genocidal rampage through Mordor killing every Orc, Goblin, Urak-Kai, etc. that escaped. I want their blood on my hands. I wouldn't rest until every last one of them is slaughtered. It would bring me great joy to wipe them out.

I wouldn't be able to stay in one place. I'd be like Gandalf the Grey Pilgrim except I'd be an elf, in green though I'd keep Shadowfax I picked Rivendell though. Near the Shire for some ale, near Moria for some orc killing, by the mountain path in the Caradhas to visit Lothlorien and Mirkwood, then the Lonely Mountain and the Iron Hills, or head south through the Gap of Rohan to visit Isengard, Fangorn Forest, and of course Rohan, then its only a short ride to Gondor. It's practically in the Middle of everything.

Its also peaceful, quiet, beautiful and full of literature! I can imagine it now..... Elrond yelling "LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO MY LIBRARY, ITS A PIG STY!"

I voted for Rivendell, for reasons mentioned by others above (yesss, the library, the waterfalls, the location as such...). But you should see my place in South Ithilien - ahh, those beautiful dwellings in the trees, made of delicately intertwined boughs and vines, the golden-green light trickling through the leafy ceilings.... oops, sorry, dreaming again.

Rohan. The hall of Edoras is awesome. I love big cold empty open spaces so Moria or the Misty mountains would have been second choice.

Rivendell would be my first choice, but a very close second would be one you didn't have listed, the Grey Havens.
Rivendell was a wonderfully isolated place where you could have total privacy or or join a large discussion...which ever you preferred at the time.
The Grey Havens would be great because of my love for the sea.

I'd love a Hobbit hole, and I'd fit in well with Hobbit's liking for food. Also, Sam is my favourite character. I may have to steal him off Rosie...
