Aerhíril looked down, withdrawing her gaze from the amazing sight.
"I know, It can be dangerous. Very dangerous. But we will be alright." She turned to face Lili.
"Have you travelled the mountains before? I haven't. Not straight over them at least."

"Several times now, going between Lothlorien and Imladris. I don't usually like to though, but it's better than going around them I suppose. I have had several good trips crossing them, just as much as bad ones, time will tell just what his one will be. Shall we continue?"

"Yes," Aerhíril replied. And with that she began to walk up the gradual slope that lay before them.

Alisteal sighed and sneezed as some flakes of snow tickled her nose. As they began to go up a slight incline she knew they were about to enter the mountains. She was slightly afraid of entering the mountains but she would't admit it to anyone. "Arthion? Are you alright?" She asked softly squeezing his hand, he had been really quiet as of late. She pulled the cloke tighter around her as a gust of wind blew their way.

Arthion was walking lost in his thoughts hoping that this time they would have no troubles in the mountains. Then he felt someone squeezing his hand and he looked at Alisteal. He could tell from her facial expression that she had said something to him or even more likely asked him something but he had no idea about what.

Shaking his head slightly as to get rid of the snow flakes that landed on his head he asked softly:”Sorry melleth, have you said something? I just got lost in thoughts..” and looked at Alisteal sending her a gentle smile. Seeing her pulling the cloak tighter about her body he asked worriedly:”Are you cold?”.

Alisteal smiled softly, "Not really, just the wind, I asked if you were ok. You've been quiet for a long time now and I was worried." She giggled and skipped a bit, untill their arms were both stretched out, she waited for Arthion to catch up and giggled again and once more skipped, she turned to Arthions, "It will be ok, you know that right?"

Aerhíril carried on walking up the mountain, with Lili at her side. She looked back to check if the others were still alright. The wind picked up, and the falling snow was becoming thick. Aerhíril's foot broke the snow and it fell deep into it. She pulled her leg out and stood carefully back on top of the endless white blanket.
"The snow is loose here." She said to Lili. "We must be carefull not to cause an avalaunce."
Lili looked down upon the snow that they were walking on.

Alisteal's face became almost as white at the snow at the word avalanche. She whispered, afraid, "H-how can we be careful and what can we do to make sure it doesn't happen?"

Aerhíril heard Alisteal ask about what she had just said, with her voice trembling slightly.
"Well, te best thing we can do is avaoid making loud noises, or disturbing any of the snow. We must do this until we find a more secure route." Aerhíril said sternly as she looked up at the vast amount of snow before her.
"We should be alright, as long as we are carefull."

"Silence is the best force we have, take care in your steps and we will be fine. I sense a sterner path ahead, but it is yet a ways. Alisteal, Arthion, it would be best if none are behind the other, please, join us." She then worked a connection between the four of them, a band that worked between each so that they might speak in silence, "Please," she thought to all of them, "until we reach sterner ground this will be best."

When Lili told him and Alisteal to join her and Aerhíril, the elf took Alisteal’s hand in his and guiding the maiden carefully he led her so that they could catch up with both elf maidens. When they did Arthion changed sides with his melleth so that now Alisteal walked between him and Lili. Arthion thought it would be the safest position for Alisteal to walk since she was yet not as experienced in walking atop the snow as the other elves.

When he heard Lili in his mind telling them about the link she created he could not help but look at the older elf. Somehow he felt safe in her presence in the mountains, it seemed as if she was able to foresee everything, every danger that could await them and warn them of it in advance. And so he squeezed Alisteal’s hand reassuringly scanning the snow in front of them just in case...

((OOC: Aerhíril wants some action so I'll begin it with my post))

Alisteal was still very worried she was having a sence of something to happen. And it was weighing heavily on her heart. She was clinging to Arthion's hand, and idley thought she hoped she wasn't hurting him.
She gasped as a very sharp wind came barreling down the hill. It was so strong it almost knocked her over. She froze as she heard a loud rumbling and turned to Arthion and then to Lili, face a mask of horror.

Aerhíril caught a glance of Alisteal's horrified face, as she felt her own life drain from her mind. She heard the deep sound that roared and echoed through the vally below them- it split through her ears, almost defening. She could not tell if the others were trying to speak because it was so loud. She looked up the hill in terror to see the deadly foe that was hurtelling towards them...

"Quickly now, behind the boulder over there." The boulder was yet several yards away when the snow began crashing down at them. She gave a quick shove to Alisteal, sending her behind the boulder, pulling Arthion behind her. Both she and Aerhíril dove behind just as the heavy snow ran by. "Pull your cloaks tight, we'll be here for a bit yet." Liliandra called to them over the roaring sound of snow. She peered out over the white...

Alisteal clung to Arthion, terrified, her face white. She shuddered and pushed her face into his tunic. SHe felt tears in her eyes. She heard the roaring of crashing snow and felt some fall on her, she simply closed her eyes and was comforted to know ARthion was there also.

Aerhíril wrapped her cloak around her, knowing that this was going to be a long wait. The path that they were taking would be completly transformed once the avalaunce was over. The snow sprayed over them like an endless waterfall crashing down at their feet before them. I would be disasterous if one of them got caught in the flow of snow. Aerhíril could see that Alisteal was distressed, and Arthion was doing his best to comfort her.

Arthion closed his eyes quickly working on calming himself down. This was not a good beginning of their journey. He could feel Alisteal shaking and trying to cling to him as much as she could. The elf moved slightly closer to accommodate the maiden and then pulled her a little closer placing his arms around her shoulders so that she was covered now partly with his cloak as well. Then he bowed his head so that his chin rested atop Alisteal’s head and allowed his energy to support his beloved, to reassure her that everything would be good.

Using the link that Lili had created he asked the maidens:”Are you all right?”. “It will be a long waiting now” the elf thought and kissed gently Alisteal’s head feeling that she finally was not shaking anymore, only resting peacefully in his embrace.

"Yes-" Aerhíril replied using the connection. "I am fine"
The snow still rushed past them, thundering down the mountain side. Aerhíril began to wonder how long it would take them to reach Rivendell, and how her father would greet them. "I think I will stay with him for a while, before I leave again." She thought to herself, making sure that the others could no longer hear her thoughts. The ground was still shaking.

Alisteal still clinging to Arthion, finally lifted her head adn looked at the others. Everyone in their group looked shaken. As the rumbling ceased, Alisteal looked to Lili to see what she thought about it being over or what.

Hearing the last of the snow fall down the mountainside and catching Alisteal's glance she replyed, "Stay here but a moment, I will check" At that she stood, then carefully lept over the sheltering rock. Taking a few steps she gazed upon the mountains. "The peaks now lay bare" She thought back to them, "No more shall fall this side of the Misty Mountains for a long time yet. Come now, we should continue." She stood upon the rock and helped Alisteal and the other's over. They stood a moment to reorient themselves with the new terrain of the area. "The snow will be soft, make your steps light."

Aerhíril looked around. It all looked completly different, everything had been coverved with the snow. It took a while for Aerhíril to regather herself. This kind of thing did not happen every day.
"Shall we get moving?" She finally suggested. They had been stood there for many minutes.

Arthion nodded at Aerhíril’s question, they should really start to move if they wanted to cover some distance today. The elf could not help but wonder once again how powerful the nature was and how small they seemed compared to the endless sea of whitness surrounding them. Making sure that his and Alisteal’s packs were good fastened to his back, the elf took Alisteal’s hand in his once again and seeing that Lilia and Aerhíril were ready as well he said through the link:”So let’s get going, but we have to be very careful..”

Aerhíril wrapped her cloak around herself, and held her bow in her hand. It made her feel safer, even though it would be no use if another avalaunce was to happen. They began to walk up the mountain, each making their steps as light as possible.
The air grew thinner as they progressed, and clouds of mist swum about their feet. The sky was now a brilliant midnight blue speckled with white shimmering dots.
"Look at the stars" Aerhíril exclaimed as she walked with her head tilted backwards. There was not a cloud in the sky giving the perfect conditions for stargazing. It had also stopped snowing.

Alisteal looked up and gasped, "wow! It's beautiful!" She clung to Arthion's hand, staring up at the sky. She could see every star very visibley and bright.

Hearing Aerhíril’s and Alisteal’s exclamations Arthion looked up at the sky and sighed in wonder. Subconsciously he stopped abruptly to get a better look at the stars and Alisteal, who was still clinging to his hand, had to stop as well. Arthion sought out quickly the star he was looking for and allowed the solace it offered to fill his heart. Feeling Alisteal looking at him he turned to face her and his gaze locked with hers:”Sorry I just wanted to take a look” he whispered and then began to walk again with the maiden at his side. From time to time he still cast a glance up at the stars marvelling their timeless beauty and the silent guidance they always offered in the time of need..

Although they may not have relised it, they were actually coming close to the top of the mountain. The sky grew darker and darker, and they had long scine passed the clouds that now lay further down the mountain. It was cold and the air was stiil. They had not seen this kind of calm weather for many days now.
"I think we are nearing the top of this mountain." Aerhíril called to the others. "We ought to stop there briefly to decide which path would be best to take."

The walked along at a good pace, periodically looking to the stars that shone brightly in the night sky. She responded to Aerhíril, "Most likely a good idea, if I recall correctly there should be a suitable place to stop and rest a bit just before the peak."

Alisteal was so lost in looking at the sky and tripped and landed right on her face. "oomph" she mumbled as the wind was knocked out of her.

Arthion was walking beside Alisteal lost in his thoughts. From time to time he cast a glance up at the stars sparkling in the sky, smiling absently. Therefore he had not noticed that Alisteal had tripped. He was taken out of his reverie, however, when he felt an unexpected tug at his left arm the maiden was holding and then sharp pain in it. It were only Arthion's quick reflexes that saved him from falling down to the ground as Alisteal did. Regaining his balance, the elf crouched down beside her and asked, “Alisteal, are you all right?”. Then he helped the maiden to her feet visibly favoring his right hand. And as if to cut off all possible questions he asked, “So how far from here is that place?”

"Not far now, just ahead." She pointed to a spot ahead. Once Alisteal had regained her footing and they were sure she was alright Liliandra lead in a quick pace the last few steps to the cave. "This should be suitable at least for the night I believe, hopefully the weather will remain clear throughout tomorrow as well." She lead the way into the cave cautiously, ears listening intently for any signs of danger from within.

((OOC: Wow, this threads been down for ages, lol. Well, as it is still here we may as well try to get it started again. ))

Aerhíril followed Lili carefully into the cave, and was very grateful for the shelter from the wind that it already provided.
"Shall we get a fire going?" she suggested to the other two that came in behind them. It was dark towards the back of the cave, but she did not think to check all corners, for Liliandra was already doing it herself. While she was waiting for the all clear, she made sure that Arthion and Alisteal were both safely inside, and away from the drafty entrance.
