(Aaah, I'm finally back after a really long vacation! Hi, Sigilien!)

Berior held her close, letting her grieve. "I don't know if this is any comfort, but I believe your father could have known he was ill for awhile. He probably didn't want you to worry, so he pushed for a marriage to make sure you would be well taken care of." Berior wanted to kick himself. And that was supposed to comfort her?! He felt like such a fool. "How soon do you want to leave?"

Ricellen said nothing for a minute or so. She had a headache, and she just didnt know what to say to Berior. She liked him, was getting accustomed to his presence and her life here, but she had to leave.
"I think the day after tomorrow, in the morning..." She fell silent once again.
"Oh how I will miss him..."
She turned around and faced Berior. "You are taking care of me well. I even think I might stay..." She forced a smile. She didnt want to stay sad forever, and smiling was a beginning, bad jokes another.

Berior was pleased that Rícellen was becoming accustomed to his presence. She eventually fell asleep in his arms, exhausted from her ordeal. He gently tucked her into bed and lay down beside her, protectively keeping his arms around her.

Berior woke up early the next morning with the sun in his eyes. He slowly got up so he wouldn't wake Rícellen and went to the kitchen, where he had one of the servants prepare a small breakfast and placed it on a tray. Then he carefully took the tray to his room and set the tray on a table near the bed.

"Rícellen," he called softly. "It's time to get up. I have breakfast for you." Berior placed the tray in front of her. "Do you like my surprise?" he asked, hoping to cheer her up.

Ricellen woke up, wondering why she was feeling so sad, but then she remembered. Almost she bagan to cry again, but Beriors appearance with the breakfast kept that.

She smiled weakly. 'Thank you... Did you have breakfast allready? if not, you can join me offcourse!'

"Well, that was the idea," Berior said with a grin. He didn't mention the issue of packing and preparing to leave; he didn't want to bring the subject up so early in the morning and have his upset. "After breakfast, would you like to take a walk? It might calm your nerves listening to the ocean's song," he suggested.

Ricellen nodded. "I shall, it might help."
she started to eat a little, small bites at a time because she couldnt eat like before for the grief was still too fresh.

After they had eaten Ricellen stood up and noticed she was still wearing yesterdays outfit.
She took a clean dress from the closet and then stood behind the [uuhm, the thing they change behind???]
She liked to wear a dress in the wind, when the soft fabric flew around her. She pulled on a dark blue dress and stepped from behind the [thing].
"I am ready to go..." She said and she smiled a little bit.

Berior offered his arm to Rícellen, and the two walked off together. He really didn't know what to say to her, but he wanted to comfort her. In the end they walked in silence. By the time they returned, bells were ringing signaling the midday meal, but neither felt in the mood to eat. "Shall I help you pack, my dear, or do you want a servant to gether your things?"

Ricellen ignored the middaymeal-bells and answered Berior's question. "I would like to do it myself, but if you wish you can stay with me."
They went to her room and she turned around to face Berior again.
"I forgot if I asked or if you said this allready, but were you coming with me, to my fathers burial?"
She entered the room and started tgo search in her closets for the things she wanted to take with her, starting with her travelling outfit. Everything she wanted to take, she placed on her bed.

"Of course I am. You're liable to get lost in this country with someone to be your guide."

He two large hands on her shoulders. "Besides, you are my wife now. Why would I let you go through this alone?"

Berior let her go and began to pacl his own things. They continued to work in silence until all of their things were neatly packed into trunks.

"Well, one good thing is that since we had just arrived, most of our things were still packed." He saw a flicker of pain in Rícellen's eyes and wrapped an arm around her. "I'm sorry, love, about all of this. But you need to be strong, not for my sake, but for your father's. I don't mean that I'm forbidding you from weeping, no, weep as much as you like. But do not sink into despair." Berior cupped her face in his hands. "Can you do that?"

She put her hands over his and a single tear fell down her cheek.

(OOC: Sorry it took so long, I tried to ask alduya if she wanted to continue, and got no reply, so I'm guessing it's a no. So, we shall continue. The character of Aaliyah and her suitors are up for tempoary control *AKA first come,first serve*)

"I will always be here for you, my dear." He took his thumb and wiped her tear away and kissed her cheek. "We shall leave at dawn tomorrow," he promised.

It felt like the place he kissed on her cheek was warmer than the rest of her body.
She wanted to do the same back to him, but she kept herself from it by staying at the closet, waiting for his answer.

(OOC: Sorry it's been so long, but a lot of stuff has been going on....Like my mom breaking her finger...... :nono: )

Berior laughed at her remark. "Yes, I suppose it's past time for the next meal, and I'm a bit peckish myself."

He walked to the door of their room and offered his arm to escort her. "Will you do me the honor of joining me in the dining hall, Good Lady?" he asked, trying to bring a smile to her face.

Ricellen smiled a little.
"Good lady? Are you sure? You dont know what I might have done in the past... Maybe I poisoned my father, stole from rich people on the street... or even worse." She said with a serious face, but after a little while she couldnt keep the serious face up and she started to smile.
"Offcourse not eh."
She took his arm and said: "I will come with you, Berior."

(It's now been discovered she also broke her hand and had to have metal pin stuck in it. >< Ouch. If you don't mind I'll speed this along.)

Berior grinned at her jesting. He glad she was able to smile again. After a delicious meal, they decided to retire early, instructing the servants to wake them at dawn.

The next day as Berior came to mount his horse after everything had been packed and loaded, he heard a commotion coming from the stables. He found a disgruntled stable hand and Rícellen having a row.

"What's going on?!" he bellowed to make himself heard over the noise.

"Sir, the lady refuses to ride in a ladies' saddle. She said she will ride a man's saddle. But, it simply isn't done. Women must ride side-saddle."

Berior looked at the man, then at his wife. "Is this what this is all about?" he asked calmly.

"Offcourse! I refuse to ride that saddle. I am no lower or better than a man. I can perfectly well handle myself on a man's-saddle, thank you very much." That last sentence was directed harshly to the servant.
She looked helplessly at her husband. She only hoped he would understand. She added another line.
"I am old enough to decide for myself."

Berior paused for a moment. "Here in Gondor women typically ride side-saddle in matters of business," he said slowly. Then seeing the anger in his wife's eyes and knowing she would defy him in every way she could he added, "But for now you may ride as you please. I do not expect you to adjust overnight to our customs. We'll take things as they come. But I will have you ride one of my more docile mares for your protection," he said.

"I never had any problems with other horses. I even used to tame some when I was back home." She stated, letting him know she didnt really like that idea.
"And I can use my own horse I am sure? Why use a new one when I can still use my own?"

Berior smiled. "Ah, you have conquered me. Very well, do as you please. We haven't had much time to really get to know each others customs yet, and for the sake of haste let us be on our way." He waited for the horses to be saddled then mouted his steed while Rícellen mounted hers and set off on the trail with his wife close behind.

Ricellen smiled and made her own horse ready, stubbornly, but gently, pushing the stable boy out of the way.

As they were on their way for at least three hours, and talking about their past, Ricellen asked Berior if he wanted to take a break.
"As tough I might sound, I do not feel much for getting saddlepain." she joked and waited for his reply.
