Better read the Silmarillion. If I read the Hobbit just before buying the DoS DVD I'm just going to get mad at PJ all the more for the fresh memory of the superior original.

Would you rather read "The Lost Road" (HoME book 5) or "Sauron Defeated" (HoME book 9) (both have discarded "time travel" material and Númenor material related to it)?

Well, since I haven't read either one yet (and Im not going to check it out from the library either, I prefer to have my own copies) I will read The Lost Road.

I really like Rivendell but Lothlorien always draws me in so I pick Lothlorien.

Have Aragorn as a guide in Middle-earth or have Gandalf be your tour guide?

I actually have a replica of the Ring of Barahir, so I will choose the Elrond's new tiara.

Would you rather have an edition of The Silmarillion signed by JRRT, or an original LoTR poster signed by the members of the Fellowship?

If anyone had happened to look out of a window on the east side of the palace, they might have noticed two figures in the darkness, dancing in a square bordered by living plants, out of time with the dancers inside but perfectly in time with each other.

I think I'll stick with cave sites (secret exits and all that stuff), as I did with Nargothrond over Gondolin. I mean, how long before their respective destruction is this?

Gimli's axe. I know how handle that. Radagast's staff probably comes with a huge user manual (not good for spontaneous actions).

Nominally, I had archery in high school.
But a war bow of the Galadhrim may have a pull weight way beyond my capabilities.
So Sting may be better simply because I can use it at all!
