Bon Jovi is great! I'm only 17, so I think I missed the glory days of rock (or so my parents tell me!). But there's just something about loud guitars and drums that I find very appealing.

"LADY" by Styx
It fits in many lines especially when my guy is with me (I AM his massage therapist! ), & he's smiling from the first line...

Lady, when you're with me I'm smiling
Give me all your love
Your hands build me up when I'm sinking
Just touch me and my troubles all fade

Lady, from the moment I saw you
Standing all alone
You gave all the love that I needed
So shy, like a child who had grown

You're my lady of the morning
Love shines in your eyes
Sparkling, clear, and lovely
You're my lady

Lady, turns me on when I'm lonely
Show me all your charms
Evenings when you lay down beside me
Just take me gently into your arms

I think "I Am Understood?" by Relient K or maybe "I Don't Want To Go" by Avalon both describe me and how I think/live pretty well.

Paper Cut by Linkin Park -

Why does it feel like night today?
Something in here's not right today.
Why am I so uptight today?
Paranoia's all I got left
I don't know what stressed me first
Or how the pressure was fed
But I know just what it feels like
To have a voice in the back of my head
It's like a face that I hold inside
A face that awakes when I close my eyes
A face watches every time I lie
A face that laughs every time I fall
(And watches everything)

So I know that when it's time to sink or swim
That the face inside is hearing me
Right underneath my skin

Chorus:
It's like
I'm paranoid lookin' over my back
It's like
a whirlwind inside of my head
It's like
I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like
the face inside is right beneath my skin

I know I've got a face in me
Points out all my mistakes to me
You've got a face on the inside too and
Your paranoia's probably worse
I don't know what set me off first
But I know what I can't stand
Everybody acts like the fact of the matter is
I can't add up to what you can but

Everybody has a face that they hold inside
A face that awakes when I close my eyes
A face watches every time they lie
A face that laughs every time they fall
(And watches everything)

So you know that when it's time to sink or swim
That the face inside is watching you too
Right inside your skin

Chorus

The face inside is right beneath your skin (3x)

The sun goes down
I feel the light betray me (Repeat until end)

Chorus (Repeat until end)

My theme song used to be "Headstrong" by Trapt, but that changed. I am still a wandering youth, trying to find who I am and where it is I come from, what purpose I have here and I fear the answer to those questions. So now I have to say that the song "Widowing Field" by Jars of Clay kind of describes me anyway.Well how I feel most of the time. The lyrics are posted on the Casting forum if any one wants to read them, same with "Darkness" by Disturbed, another very good song that I tend to attach myself to.

Just to add a rather depressing note, I think perhaps MatchBox 20´s Back to Good sums up my life fairly well.

I Was Born In A Summer Storm - Tom McRae.

Although, with the nasty day I'm having today... Break Stuff - Limp Bizkit sums it all up nicely!

"Paranoid" by Black Sabbath
"Numb" by Linkin' Park (I couldn't get it out of my head last weekend)
"I won't back down" by Tom Petty
The "b-song" by Meredith Brooks

Numb~Linkin Park
The Anthem~Good Charlotte(I don't want to be anybody but me)
I'm Just A Kid~Simple Plan

Pretty much all Simple Plan and Good Charlotte songs suit me.

I Love Mest to but none of thier songs suit me.

Too many. Depends what mood i'm in, to be honest.. My anthem is probably I'm Just A Kid by simple Plan. It pretty much desribes my life.
But sometimes it's Papercut or In the End by Linkin' Park...
Standing Still by Sick Water (Check out that band, man. I mean it. *shameless plug* www.sickwater.com) reminds me of when i was younger...
Pretty much anything by The Ataris.. Smeg, Why am i mentioning all the emo bands!? o.O Run To The Hills by Iron Maiden. *Grins* Because at the prospect of meeting me, You'd wanna be runnin tae thu hills!
Also, Feeder. Just the way i'm feeling and Just A Day.
Somewhere between "I am a rock", "Bridge Over troubled water", and... hm.. can't remember the name of it... possibly... no, that's not it... ne way, somewhere between those two... OH, "Richard Corey" and "A Most Peculiar Man" and "Sparrow"

S&G fan, by any chance? I am A Rock is one for me, as well...

Ok, These are the lyrics to the song that really does describe me best.

When it's apple pickin' time in texas
It's peach pickin' time in tennessee
It's Cotton pickin' time in Mississippi
And Everybody Piicks Ooowwnnn Meee

Edit: I forgot 3 main songs!
Green Day - She
Green Day - Mairia
Bon Jovi - Livin' On A Prayer... even though it's been said before.

what songs describe me eh? hmmm...

I just got a fwd back from my friend, you know the questionnaire types and one of the questions was what song best describes me? Well, you know what song "apparantly" best described me? "Like a Bird" by Nelly Furtardo. Is that a compliment or not???
So that got me to thinking what song do you think best describes you?

You know, AEvenstar, I think it's a compliment, i guess it's cause I love that song (and most of the songs by Nelly Furtado).

Okay, back onto the question...

I think I connect myself well with the song, "Explode" by Nelly Furtado, "Why Can't I" by Liz Phair, "Life for rent" by Dido, "Sillhouettes" by Smile empty soul. A blend of all those.

well, let's see

Always Have, Always Will~~Avalon...here are some of the lyrics:
Part of me is the prodical
Part of me is the other brother
But I think the heart of me
is really somewhere between them

Some days I run a while
Some days will reconcile
But I wonder all the while
Why You put up with me when

I wrestle most days
To find ways to do as I please!

I always have
I always will
You saved me once
oh Lord, You save me still
My longing heart
Your love alone can fill.
You always have, always will.

Hiding Place~~Steven Curtis Chapman, it's from the perspective of a person who is having truoble in life, so they run to God for help, and there they find peace

My God~~point of Grace
All my life, you have been with me
How could I pretend not to see!
I was walking all my life
I was wasting precious time

All I know is that you love me
And if I call, You will set me free
It's the Promise that ya made
It's a truth that will not change
Please help me to remember

My God will never let me down
My God has turned my world around
He loves me even though, I know I don't deserve Him.
My God will never turn away
He's with me every single day
He's broken all the chains,
And set this captive free.

Mine is definitley "A Gentleman's excuse Me" by Fish. Describes my personality perfectly since I'm hopelessly romantic and a dreamer

do you still keep paper flowers in the bottom drawer with your belgian lace
taking them out every year to watch the colours fade away
do you still believe in fairy tales in battlements of shining castles
safe from the dragons that lie beneath the hill
are you still a russian princess rescued by a gypsy dancer
to anyone who'll listen is that a story you still tell
you live a life of fantasy your diary romantic fiction
can't you see it's hard for me can you see what i am trying to say

it's a gentleman's excuse me so i'll take one step to the side
can you get it inside your head i'm tired of dancing
for every one step forward we're taking two steps back
can you get it inside your head i'm tired of dancing

i know you still like old fashioned waltzes
your reflection in a mirror that you flirt with as you glide across the floor
but if i told you the music's over would you want to hear
that your dance card is empty that there's no one really there
do you still believe in santa claus that there's a millionaire
looking for your front door with a key to a life that you'd never understand
all i have to offer is the love that i have it's freely given
you'll see its value when you see what i've tried to say

it's a gentleman's excuse me so i'll take one step to the side
can you get it inside your head i'm tired of dancing
for every one step forward we're taking two steps back
can you get it inside your head that from this one step forward
there's no turning back
can you get it inside your head i'm tired of dancing
we're finished dancing

Evanescence-----Imaginary

I linger in the doorway
of alarm clock screaming monsters calling my name
let me stay
where the wind will whisper to me
where the raindrops as they're falling tell a story

in my field of paper flowers
and candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
and watch my purple sky fly over me

don't say i'm out of touch
with this rampant chaos - your reality
I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge
the nightmare i built my own world to escape

in my field of paper flowers
and candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
and watch my purple sky fly over me

swallowed up in the sound of my screaming
cannot cease for the fear of silent nights
oh how i long for the deep sleep dreaming
the goddess of imaginary light

in my field of paper flowers
and candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
and watch my purple sky fly over me

This song describes me so well!

Yes oh yes oh yes oh yes oh yes *somewhat obsessive*
!!!! Oh, i have a new set.
--I am a Rock (I am a rock, I am an island, and a rock feels no pain, and an island never cries)
--Bridge Over Troubled Water (Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down! except that I didn't exactly lay myself down, I just got trampled into it.. ne way, I seem to be a sort of confessional and... well, agony.. aunt?)
--Half-Fling ( http://www.aerindipity.com/music/halffling.mp3 ) (Shabadofoodo, asuminufamineena! Because I'm absolutely insane and talk to myself like this a lot of the time. BTW: This was recorded by 'Lij and Dom... look up Pandemoniumfromamerica, third link on the google search... tdrsmusic.viggomortensen... something or rather, can't remember the entire link code)
--Shadow (can be downloaded at Lalablue's Dominic Monaghan shrine... umm.. can't remember that either, try searching Lalablue. It was recorded by Dom) (You said you needed some space; space, space... yeah, right, space... You're comin for me, I'm the shadow in the corner of the room, I'm the reason you feel sick at heart, I'm the panic attack at the end of the day. You needed some space, huh? I loved you. Now you're gone, and I see you everywhere. because on a very depressing note, in the last four months or so, all my friends have stopped talking to me. well, nearly all. I have one friend left.) also Gollum's Song for the same reasons
--Barrel of a Gun ( http://www.aerindipity.com/music/barrelofagun.mp3 ) (I know a movie star, I've got her patched up on my wall, just like we're dear old friends, like she already knows me! Four three two one, like the barrel of a gun, Keep my head down low, stay out or stay in, she's enough to make me want, I weren't so safe and sound though I prefer "him"/"he" and like to stare at that poster of legolas while humming that)
--Ordinary Day and Sono Luminus (aerindipity has 'em, just music/ordinaryday.mp3 and music/sonoluminus.mp3) (In this beautiful life, there's always some sorrow! It's a double edged knife but there's always tomorrow. It's up to you whether you sink or swim, just keep your faith your ships will come in. It's not so bad! Take me higher, high as heaven can be! Sono luminus! Love can move a mountain yes there's nothing that it can't do... Wherever you are, send me strength that I might go on) because I love listening to them and so powerfully happy/uplifting. You might call them the tiers that hold up the Bridge Over Troubled Water.
--Sorrow by Bad Religion (When all kings and queens relinquish their crowns, there will be sorrow, there will be sorrow, there will be sorrow no more! for when I'm really angry. Cuz that's the only time I listen to ska. SKANKIN' PICKLE, PEOPLES!!!! umm... dunno what that was. I don't even like Skankin' Pickle. Ska's okay though. lots of banging and screaming.)
--Have You Forgotten by Red House Painters from Vanilla Sky (Have you forgotten how to love yourself? because sometimes I think I have { http://www.aerindipity.com/music/haveyouforgotten.mp3 }

I guess the song I feel most attuned to is "The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World.

Also Sarah Mclachlan's song "Fallen" and John Mayer's "My Stupid Mouth" and "Why Georgia"......yeah, I don't have a lot of self confidence....oh well

PS. _Rilaisseth_ I love your avater!!!!

Oo this is a very cool thread!
the song that best describes me is In the Garage by Weezer
it's about feeling good and secure in a place where no one cares how geeky you are.
In the garage, I feel safe
no one cares about my ways
in the garage where I belong
no one hears me sing this song

I've got an eletric guitar
I play my stupid songs
I write these stupid words
and I love everyone
waiting there for me
yes I do

anyone else here a Weezer fan?

That's a tough one. But usually Evanescence's song "Imaginary" because I am such a daydreamer. But VNV Nation's "Exsistance" when I'm questioning exsistance. And Apoptygma Berzerk's "Starsign" when I feel a bit out there. or just when I want to listen to a really good song. I get Starsign stuck in my head too easily.

I Almost Let Go, by Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers. A wonderful, slow, soulful gospel song:

[Verse I]
I almost let go.
I felt like I just couldn't take life anymore.
My problems had me bound,
Depression weighed me down.
But God held me close
So I wouldn't let go.
God's mercy kept me so I wouldn't let go.

[Verse II]
I almost gave up.
I was right at the edge of a breakthrough,
But couldn't see it.
The devil really had me,
But Jesus came and grabbed me.
And He held me close
So I wouldn't let go.
God's mercy kept me, so I wouldn't let go.

[Chorus]
So I'm here today because God kept me.
I'm alive today only because of His grace.
Oh, He kept me.
God kept me.
He kept me,
So I wouldn't let go.

[Verse I]
I almost let go.
I felt like I just couldn't take life anymore.
My problems had me bound,
Depression weighed me down.
But God held me close
So I wouldn't let go.
God's mercy kept me so I wouldn't let go.

[Chorus]
So I'm here today because God kept me.
I'm alive today only because of His grace.
Oh, He kept me.
God kept me.
He kept me.
So I wouldn't let go.

"Unwell" is describes me perfectly. I know all of the words by heart. Other ppl have mentioned it, but I don't think that anyway has posted the lyrics yet, so here they are:

All day staring at the ceiling
Making friends with shadows on my wall
All night hearing voices telling me
That I should get some sleep
Because tomorrow might be good for something

Hold on
Feeling like I'm headed for a breakdown
And I don't know why

[Chorus]

But I'm not crazy; I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be...me

I'm talking to myself in public
Dodging glances on the train
And I know, I know they've all been talking about me
I can hear them whisper
And it makes me think there must be something wrong with me
Out of all the hours thinking
Somehow I've lost my mind

[Chorus]

But I'm not crazy; I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be

I've been talking in my sleep
Pretty soon they'll come to get me
Yeah, they're taking me away

[Chorus]

But I'm not crazy; I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be

Yeah, how I used to be
How I used to be
Well, I'm just a little unwell
How I used to be
How I used to be
I'm just a little unwell

I also can relate to the songs "Going Under," "Perfect," and many others, but I can't think of them at the moment.

my friend e-mailed a group of friends with the lyrics to "Unwell" saying they described us (2 of the 4 people she sent it to (including me) hadn't heard of the song) so I guess that would be one

Probably "Dante's Prayer" by Loreena Mckennitt. Here are the lyrics, hope they're not too long:

When the dark wood fell before me
And all the paths were overgrown,
When the priests of pride say "There is no other way",
I tilled the sorrows of stone.

I did not believe because I could not see,
Though you came to me in the night,
When the dawn seemed forever lost,
You showed me your love in the light of the stars.

[Chorus]
Cast your eyes on the ocean,
Cast your soul to the sea,
And when the dark night seems endless,
Please remember me.

Then the mountain rose before me,
By the deep well of desire,
From the Fountain of Forgiveness,
Beyond the ice and the fire.

[Chorus]

Though we share this humble path, alone,
How fragile is the heart.
Oh, give these clay feet wings to fly,
To touch the face of the stars.

Breathe life into this feeble heart,
Lift this Mortal Veil of Fear,
Take these crumbled hopes, etched with tears,
We'll rise above these earthly cares.

[Chorus]

Please remember me
Please remember me
[repeat to fade]

I guess it doesn't describe me, essentially, but I feel it much deeper than any other song.

Die Ruinen Von Asgard and Schwarze Sonne by E Nomine. The lyrics may not completely describe me, but the overall mood and tone of the music describes me at times. Especially the mood that's set when the choirs are singing the parts of the lyrics that are in Latin.

Die Ruinen Von Asgard - Latin verses(copied from lyric site, not sure about spellings):

tempus-corruptiones-vicenus-est
tempus-reconditae-litterae
tempus-tristis
sempiterunus-interrogatio-tectus-est

Schwarze Sonne - Latin verses

Predator cerberus qui vit infernus fames ardens carme hominis
mortalis

Semper sequindo odorem sanguis
Ferrox currendo ex infernalis
Semper sequindo odorem sanguis
Est cerberus

I think it's better to actually hear the songs though. Just reading the lyrics doesn't give fully glory to the actual song.

Man there are so many that remind me of things in my life.. but not sure which one suits ME... hmmm
I would have to say:
Everytime- Brittany Spears (of all people)
Imaginary- Evanescence
Fighter- Christina Ag. (jpw ever you spell it)

I guess that it would depend on my mood actaully... I have some that are really cheery and postitive, but others that are kinda miserable...
