Decipher LotR trading card game

If you are a fan of the Decipher trading card game be sure to visit the recently updated “Mount Doom” at decipher.com. There are details of the latest cards due for release which include, “Sauron orcs that are stronger when roaming, more evil Nazgûl, and the most dangerous Gollum and Shelob combination yet.”

LotR symphony in Philadelphia – 13th July

Due to a scheduling conflict, Howard Shore is no longer available to conduct the Philadelphia performance of the LotR symphony on 13th July. His place will be taken by John Mauceri, principal conductor of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. There are further details here.

FIGWIT at the New Zealand Film Festival

Mithril Awards 2004: Voting now open

The list of semi-finalists in the Mithril Awards for Tolkien fanfiction is now available, and voting has opened in the Voters’ Choice categories. Visit the online voting form at the awards site to vote for your choices from all the stories, poems & research articles that have reached the semi-final stage. Voting will remain open until Sunday 27 June 2004.

MTV Movie Awards on air tonight

Return of the King won the 2004 MTV Movie awards for best movie and best action sequence. The award show will air today, 10th June, at 9pm ET. For further information go to mtv.com.
