I agree. That was one of the best lines in the movie. And of course, there will be more... but in my excitement, I forgot to write them down.

I was so afraid they would change this line and scene somehow so as not to make Frodo appear lost forever. But he had to and they did.

Of course I like all of the above, but one that hasn't been mentioned yet is Sam fighting... "This one's for Frodo, This one's for the Shire, and this one's for my old gaffer!"

Aragorn: The day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forget all bonds of fellowship, ect. But it is not this day! Today we fight!

So many others, but I am still swamped by the greatest of this movie.

At Mount Doom when Sam finds him, he says, "I'm here, Sam" in an almost half awake way.

Oooh yes, I do like "As a matter in fact, its better if you don't speak at all" also. Great.

haha that line rocked! infact i think i liked all the comic relief in this film lol. the dwarf tossing thing was getting old...lol

I share a lot of all your choices, like "There will be a time when the courage of men fails, and all bonds of fellowship brake, but it is not this day", "I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you" and Theoden's speech, but my personal favourite is

"courage Merry, for our friends"... it just kills me, that quote is what LOTR is about to me, what you are willing to fight for.

When Gandalf is talking to Pippin about death and he says you will see 'white shores and beyond them a far green country under a swift sunrise'.

This line is from the Grey Havens chapter of the book and is from one of my most favorite passages. It describes what Frodo sees after he sails away. I had dearly hoped that desription would make it into the film and was thrilled when it did, even though it was used in a different place. And it was nice that Gandalf said it.

lol i loved the whole film i was in awe through most of it and now i can hardly remember, cos i was so gobsmacked. one that stuck in my mind is "fool of a Took" i know it is a repetitiion from fellowship but it seemed so accurate. and now i remember all the others now i've read them i need 2 c that movie again.

So many... and so many of those lines are Tolkien's own words. I could just speak along with some scenes... the delivery was awesome in most cases.

The ones not mentioned above that I really did adore were:

Théoden: You will live to see these days renewed.

Arwen: Whether you will it or not, there is now no ship left that will bear me hence. (or something like that)

Faramir: If I should return, think better of me.

Gandalf: Your father loves you Faramir. He will remember it before the end.

Gandalf's talk about death to Pippin: The ever-green country under a swift sunrise.

Aragorn's speech before the Black Gates: Today, we fight!

Well, in fact movie had respect for many Tolkien lines, good.
