Also i use "Not Listening! Not Listening!" in a Gollum voice, hands over ears... Usualy when someone tells me LOTR isn't real!*mummbles* ssstupid fat elvsssess!

I sing the songs all the time... Mostly my addapted versions, though... "but better than rain or rippling brook, is IRN-BRU INSIDE THIS TOOK!".. sing that EVERY time i have Irn-Bru!!! or.. "Sing Hey! For the shower at close of day!"
Or when I'm with my friend, merry, we (every 5 seconds) start the "MERRY! it's frooooooodooooooooooo Baggins!" "I man, sooooo it is!" thing... both of us exagerated scottish accents!

I'm forever quoting everything, especially LOTR here are my most used:

"And so it came to pass…"

"Go away and never come back!"

"You shall not pass!"

"If you want him come and claim him!"

"Get off the road!"

"Roaring fires" or as I should say "Rrrrroarin fiyas"

And then loads of spoofy ones like:

"The world is changing,
I feel it in my fingers,
I feel it in my toes,
Love is all around me,
And so the feeling grows"

Only Swansea based people we get this one but here it is anyway:

In as deeper, welsh accent as I can mannage "And we shall take the bus to the very stadium of Morva, a place of fire and molten rock, there are athletes there that do not sleep."

I have actually used this line appropriately and effectively in a conversation:
"Don't be so quick to deal out death in judgement. Even the very wise can not see all ends."

Also, used this when my husband was complaining that he felt like he was turning into his father....."You are Isildur's Heir, not Isiludur himself"...he just looked at me in amazement and said "you are such a freak".

also use these...
"do not take me for some conjuror(sp?) of cheap tricks Bilbo baggins...."

"the same blood flows through my veins"

"I fear neither death or pain"

and of course.....'My preciousssss"

Peace.

Auta miqula orqu(go kiss an orc)

I quote alot of galadriel line also like "you are a ring bearer frodo baggins, to carry a ring of power is to be alone." (this one comes up when my friends complain about homework)

I also have names for every single room in my house.
my room- Moria (its in the basement, my cats are the balrogs!)
my bros room- Mordor
kitchen- the prancing pony.

What about all the Trekkies and Klingon?

I don't quote LotR very often, unless discussing it, but when I tell my sister "Daro!" she halts, at least for a second.

Master_Parker, I can't quite remember, what does "Am arad" mean?

I have started to use the word "dwindle" fairly often, since I became involved in the world of Tolkien discussion groups. Also, this year I wrote "May the grace of the Valar protect you forever", or "May the light of the stars shine upon you this year" on my Christmas cards. I have started to exclaim "What in Ilúvatar's name", or "Eru" whenever I am surprised.
Oh, and I can start quoting parts of the film at every time. I greet my friends with Suilad or Aiya, and part with Namárië, and I call them Mellynamin, or Mellon if it is only one. I call my brother with his Elven name, and he uses mine too.
That is it, for now. Oh, and I call my boyfriend my Ranger, because I think that's what he resembles most (apart from some Hobbit traits).

I say quite often (to myself, mostly) when something weird or unaccepted happens: "What is this new devilry?" (in a very suspicious manner)

Most the phrases I use are from the films rather than the books. I often shout "Fool of a Took!" at my friend, who has the last name Pippin. Oh, and whenever someone is giving a long boring list of numbers and stuff, I often start going "Three were given to the elves..." to show I'm not interested. I also say "I think we should get off the road!" istead of "there's a car coming, guys". "I think I've broken something" whenever I see carrots and "They have a cave troll!" when I see someone I don't really want to talk to coming the other way. That's all i can think of now, though there are more.
LotR has had a serious affect on me. My friends think I'm mad...

Right now i use Fool of a Took alot. I say it to my bros & my mum. My bro & i, we randomly shout ISILDUR too! I guess we liked the way Elrond said it hehe.
My family are LOTR fans but most of my friends arent. They just watched the movie and then forgot about it. So whenever i quote LOTR, they will just gimme a wierd look & say whatever. Abit frustrating really

When I get a paper of assignments I tend to mutter "what is this new devilry?"

And when people try to upset someone else or me I can give them a stern look and say: "Do not disturb the water."

"Keep it secret, keep it safe." - when giving something to someone.

As the freshmen crowd up in the autumn, we tend to look around wildly and whisper: "They have taken the bridge and the second hall. We have barred the gates but cannot hold them for long..." LOL I just love that one!

These are just a few examples, we have quoted almost every line from the movie(s) and many from the books... I always find it amusing to try to speak of things in Middle-Earth terms.

Frequently heard in our house: They have a cave troll!

I use a lot of Elvish phrases; Hannon le, Gerich veleth nin, etc.
I use FAEG NIN (my bad) around here when I double post or something else stupid.

Mealtime dissolves into "second breakfast" & the rest.

Update, more than a year later...
MY boyfriend, who is a new convert to the drama of the movies will often & without provocation blurt, "SARUMAN!"
When started his Atkins diet he bellowed, "Meats back on the menu, boys!"
I'm a bit disturbed that he so often quotes Uruk-Hai, me being a hobbit who spent 3 days with those creapy vermin! *gulp*

Oh, this is a cool thread!

Let's see, the quotes I use:

"All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you." (i say that to myself when I'm in a lazy mood)

"It's mine, my own, my preciousssss...."

"We must move on, we cannot linger."

"Would you like me to find you a box?"

That's all I can think of right now!

In a history class debate the other day:

"King Xerxes holds a grudge, and his eye is fixed on Greece. Not with 10,000 triremes could you do this. Yak. Yak."

Of course everyone voted to attack Persia anyway, because Greece won in the end, but I thought it was a pretty good argument

When my husband makes me mad, I put on my gold ring and say:

Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul,
ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul

"One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the Darkness bind them."

He hates that.

But really the quote that I use most often is:

"I amar prestar aen... han mathon ne nen, han mathon ne chae a han nostan ned gwilith."

(The world has changed... I feel it in the water, I feel it in the earth, I smell it in the air.)

"fly, you fools!"
"oh yes we could!" (in conversation b/t gollum and sam, remember??)
"they have a cave troll"

oh there are so many. i just quote for the heck of it sometimes. doesn't matter if it "works" in the conversation.

Well, when my sister is annoying, I call her a "sinker and Slinker." And sometimes, I'll just suddenly start quoting the scene in TTT when Gollum and Sam are arguing about the "Taters" and "conies." I seem to quote Gollum and Pippin an awful lot, and when my younger siblings ask me to count something for them, and I start saying, "THREE rings for the Elven Kings under the sky," ect. Or, ONE ring to rule them all ONE ring, ect.

These are a select few, but really I quote the whole movie pretty much non-stop!
~Fool of a Took (or just fool)
~Gondor has no pants. Gondor needs no pants! (actually a quote from the caption section of this site, and I will try the pants replacement on other quotes too, thanks for the idea Tilion)
~Yrch, but as a random depressive noise so no one knows (except Froggie, who does it too!)
~Havo dad, Caitlin, (only to Caitlin with whom I have long arguments about the pronunciation of Elvish which I ALWAYS win!)
~The Ring verse, the whole of it
~All that is gold…
~The road goes ever on (sung in maths lessons particularly)
~I quote LOTR, especially the Elvish, at my dad permenantly because he thinks I’m a freak
~I put “quality”, the best enunciated word in LOTR, into EVERY SINGLE ONE of my exams this week, except the multiple choice ones, obviously…

Hmm, I tend to go My preciousssssssssssss quite a lot, and can do the Gollum voice on demand.

Technically, this second one isn't exactly a quote, but I often call people Evil Half-hobbits. Don't ask why.

Yea!!!! Kingurl has a whole list of these too!!

-You do not make any sense. The again, you are very small.

Can't think of any more right off the top of my head. Although last week I was reciting my verse for bible class and I used my gollum voice to say "Of the devil" and added a "precious" to the end. Completely freaked out my Bible teacher.

I'm not too bad about this, but on the ocassion I'll spout a random line. I've found myself saying these more often than others:

"Sutpid fat hobbit!" (XD)

"Fool of a Took!"

"Mine...my own...my...precioussssssss..."

And most of all, I'll insert "hither" and "thither" (books) into my sentences appropriately. Hehe. Very often.

Well, I love to use the one that is said by gandalf, especially when I am late to a class or something...
'A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.'

And I also speak this one said by Arwen a lot, though I say it in Sindarin, rarely in english...
'A si i-Dhuath u-orthor, _______. ((someone's name))
U or le, a u or nin.'
Translation: The Shadow does not hold sway yet, ____. Not over you, not over me.

Those are the main two that I use all the time.

A couple of good ones I use:

"Do not be so eager to deal out death and judgement"
Not that I know anyone who would - it's just sounds like a wise thing to say

And also: "there's an eye opener and no mistake!"

"Don't talk to it Merry! Don't Encourage it!"
- Gawd, I  Pippin!
