thats a hrad question. I'm a very big Eomer and Haldir and Eowyn and Sam and Pippin fan.....they would be my all time favorites, as for baddies....I would say Lurtz is my fav.

That's hard one. Although I really like Legolas I'm going to have to choose the Witch-King of Angmar hence the avatar. Nazgul are the best evil creatures IMO

It's so hard to decide. I like Eowyn or Faramir the best. (These are in the order that they came into my head) Boromir, Denethor, Eomer, Theoden, Galadriel, Haldir, Aragorn, Gandalf, Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, I JUST LOVE THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the scope of an epic character for an actor is present in the roles of Gandalf, Galadriel, Aragorn and Frodo.

Gandalf and Galadriel are my idols.

But if I had to choose a favourite, a character that I would want to be by my side in reality, it would have to be Samwise Gamgee, for his sheer strength of will, loyalty and resilience.

Aragorn/Strider/Elessar/Estel! (I love all his names.) And that has nothing, repeat, NOTHING to do with Viggo Mortensen's attractiveness. (Although I can't deny that he is incredibly good-looking.) I liked the character long before I saw the movie.
After Aragorn, my favorite is Eowyn. Because she's just cool.

The development to the character of Elessar is breath-taking to watch - but I somehow never got around to calling him my favourite. If I had to pick one from the world of men, I would have to pick Faramir.

(I didn't quite like what PJ did with Theoden's character but - I could understand why he did it.)

Since I find this "picking-of-my-favourite-character" quite difficult, I think I'll split it up into each of the parts.

For the Fellowship: I'm not quite sure. I think I'll get back to that one.
For Two Towers: probably the awesome Three Hunters (Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli), or Haldir for coming to help at Helm's Deep.
For the Return of the King, probably Eowyn... and I'm sure there are a lot more I prefer in this movie.

Eomer definitely.. loyal to the end.. strong silent type.. like it though he does have tendency to be a bit "loud" sometimes.. hmmm.. but hey! has plenty of horses!

Elrond is one of my favorites too, and the brothers of Gondor..

Frodo is definately my fave character, by far. :love: but i also think Faramir is pretty awesome too. i was kinda mad when in the movie they didn't put anything about Faramir and Eowyn's love for each other. i liked that part in the book.

(oh and Treebeard is awesome too!!)

I think the only actors that actually enhanced their book characters was Sean Bean, who really filled out the rather limitedly presented Boromir, and to a lesser extent only because the role was much more complete in the books, Sean Astin on portraying Master Samwise. Miranda Otto performed the part of Eowyn quite well, but didn't really enhance the role. I think David Wenhem would have made a better Faramir had the script been better. He did well with what he was presented.

My favourite character is Sam. He is just so loyal and nice. Frodo would not have come far without Sam. Everyone who has a friend like Sam may be happy!!!

I like good many people... erm... elves.
First Elrond. He is strong, powerful, wise, calm, trustworthy and handsome (that was how I imagined him anyways). He has been trough a lot and he still goes on. And despite all he has been through he has not faded. I admire him.


Strider, Aragorn, Estel, Elessar Man with many names. I think that he is pretty much like Elrond. They are quite alike and yet they have nothing in common.

Eomer Well that has always been sexual attraction, whether in books or movies.

Legolas He has some great lines. And yeah I am attracted to him, like I am to all of these guys I am listing here. There's just different things that attract me to them like a moth to a flame.

Haldir He is fiercely loyal. Who doesn't want that, I know I need someone like him in my real life.

Celeborn He didn't have a big part. Those few times he were on the screen... I don't know. He doesn't look that, well lack for a better word, yummy. His voice sounds a little funny when you think about it, but there is something in him that makes me feel weird. In a good way mind you.

Definitely Aragorn *swoon*, but Smeagol is second. (Him and Gollum are totally separate entities!)
Just thought I'd ask: Is it weird to want to hug Smeagol?
