Help!!!!!
Tanzywood and Gabby are trying to figure out how to set our Comps. up so that we are alerted when a reply is posted in this forum. Can't figure it out. I've searched all over, maybe I'm not searching for the right thing. Neither of us knew about the cancellation for Sunday July 25th. S'okay but we want to know how to avoid that in the future. How to we fix it so that we alerted when something is posted to a thread we are involved in? Can anyone give me direction? Please PM me if you can. Much appreciation and hugs. Gabby

Brandywine ~ I've PM'd both you and Shireling with these instructions but I thought I would post them here for everyone.

Go to any one of your posts in the FoF OoC and click on Edit. Once there, under the white post box, check the box *Receive email notification of new replies?*. Then click *Edit Post*. You can do this for any thread you have posted in.

I'm sorry you didn't know about the change of plans. I had posted the notice on Wednesday, hoping that everyone would have a chance to check the thread before Sunday.

Bellemaine ~ Gandalf is with us on the the evening of the day we left the Inn after the breakfast together (the last Mega Post), which would be after your trek around the city with Kain and Elfstan. I think Janell will be with him that evening for a while. But you have all gone to bed so it if it is your next day, I don't see a problem with you having him.

CHANGE OF DATE FOR NEXT MEGA MEETING:

It has been requested that we move the next Mega Meeting

FROM: Sunday, August 8th

TO: Sunday, August 15th.

I know this seems like a long way out, but people are still writing posts for those two days and some people will be on vacation that day.

Please let me know if this DOES NOT WORK for you.

Aiya, all good Middle-earth citizens!

I thought I already posted this, but I can't find it now, so heaven only knows where I put it! Tanzywood will be meeting with Arwen and Frodo after our ride to Osgiliath, which we finished last night. I guess we need to let people know to whomst we are talking to, so we don't end up cloning any of the truly main characters. If that is a problem for anyone, please let me know.

Kudos to all adn Sérë,

NenyaGold,

Sunday 15 August doesn't work for me; my sister and I will be in Boston that day for the LOTR exhibit at the Boston Museum of Sciences. I won't be back till midafternoon Tuesday 17 August.

Hi ALL

First I want to tell Belle, Kain and Elfstan how very much I enjoyed your post to the Thread. Great going.

The other two hobbits and I are putting the final touches on the Ride to Osgiliath. Should be about in a few days. Following that Janell and I have a post, then Janell, Goldie and I have a post. Following that I will have a personal post. The old jokes about 'addicted to RPing' have been coming true in my life these past two weeks.

There are no words to describe what this story and my involvement with you fine ladies has done for my own personal self esteem. I am grateful to all of you.

Keep on playin'

Lothien

Belle ~ Oh, lucky you!!! I would love to see the exhibit!

The following week I have a house guest (A CoE House Guest... ) all week so the next Sunday I'd be available is August 29th... Can everyone make that date? If not, please post here and we'll find another day.

Lothien ~ It is so good to hear that you're having such a wonderful time! Welcome to the *I'm Addicted to Live RP Club*. No, there aren't any LRP Anonymous's that I'm aware of...

Hi you all.

Goldie, if we keep this up we won't do a live RP til Christmas. We'll have to pick a day when we can get together.

Or we keep on doing what we do best and RP with other people until we find a day that all of us can be together.

just a suggestion. :dizzy:  :nono:  :rolling:

Hi Everyone

So it looks like September before we might be able to get together. Well as things are moving, we will need to ask each other what their plans are, so that should we want to use actual book characters, we won't encroach on anyone else's ideas.

Also, as it is going to be so long before we actually get together, how are we going to move on? Do we have to spend all that time in Minas Tirith. I am itching to move on along the Journey. Albeit that Minas Tirith is a wonderful City, there is only so much you can do. And as far as leaving the City, one cannot go too far in case something happens with regards to the 'assassination scenario', that everyone apart from Janell and Siladan, oh and Goldie, is not supposed to know about.

How is that going to work, if we don't get together to be told that there is an assassination plot. Poor Aragorn could be dead and gone before we get the plot up and running. Lol.

Sorry if I sound a bit of a grouch. It's Kain, my alter ego, kicking in.

Anytime, suits me anyhow, to get back to Goldie's question about a mutual meeting time.

I agree, Balrog and Rose... Now you see one of the few (in fact, I think it might be the only...) down sides to Roleplaying... Off computer life has priority, although I don't know why... People have jobs and family to attend to... And the time differences don't help. (curses time differences... )

So, with that in mind, let me make a few suggestions and see what everyone thinks. Remember, if you have other suggestions, please post them here.

Currently we still have several groups posting for the two days (RP days) after our last MP (Mega Post). As soon as everyone is done with those two days, maybe we can move up to the next couple of days. As you will see from one of our future posts, the Elf/Dúnedains are planning to train the Hobbits in self-defense and are working towards that endeavor. Those posts with the Hobbits need to be written.

During that time, I believe Kain was going to train Belle and Elfstan. There is another post or two that need to be written. I'm sure they will be funny, if they are anything like your last post!

So all of this should get us well into next week, because I won't be available until then to write the training post witih the E/D's and Hobbits.

Considering all of that, let me list the days and times that I am available for an MP and let's see if there is some way we can move it up from September. RP time, it would be about 4 days after the last MP and nearing Théoden's funeral procession departing from Minas Tirith, which I think we all said we would like to watch. That would be interesting from all our prospectives, maybe...

Here are my available times (California time):

Monday, August 2 through Tuesday, August 10 ~ any time except 10:30 - 1:00
Sunday, August 15 through Friday, August 20 ~ any time except Wednesday, August 18 between 10:30 - 1:00

Saturday, August 21 through Saturday, August 28 I have a CoE House Guest and really don't want to plan any LRP times. I'm showing her MY California!

Sunday, August 29 ~ And there we are...

Remember, the Hobbits won't know about the plan until the night before we depart Minas Tirith. The others will know as it unfolds in posts...

Some threads I have been in have had 6-8 weeks of delays because of peoples schedules and they have only 2-3 people writing for them. It is even more challenging when we have 8 people writing...

I think we have a dedicated group of people writing for this one and I don't see anyone leaving any time soon. If your need for Live RP desires satisfaction, you might want to start another thread with a different story and ideas.

Please remember that these are only one person's ideas and suggestions. What say the rest of you???

Belle, Elfstan and Kain's post is in the process of being written as we speak. We are half way through the second day and are making our way back to the Adventure Inn to see who is there and what is happening. Hopefully our post will be up by weekend, as we are completing it on Thursday.

Are the times you have posted your time, Goldie. I think it's my evenings, which is ok for me, but I'm not sure about Belle or Elfstan, as they would be working, I presume.

We'll just have to carry on and chat with the others to see how we can manage it all until September. Unless anyone comes up with any other ideas.

Elfstan and Belle have had excellent training, so won't need the Elf/Dunedains help in that regard. Excellent, though I am sure it is.

Aiya, Everybody!

Okay, here it is,sorry it's so wordy! And I didn't have smileys for my word doc. (that I"m aware of) So if I can't put them in now, then here they are :heart::heart::heart::heart:
OoC again

Aiya fellow travellers!

Kain, I’m glad that I’m not the only one who has been frustrated with the slow pace. I admit to begin with, I thought it was going to drive me batty! (Found a baby bat on the playground today, hence the batty)(And I’m almost there anyway just on general principles anyway.)

BUT the pace is teaching me a lot and actually helping my creative juices (such as they are or aren’t). That is one of the primary reasons I am writing The Adventures of Tanzywood, so there is something going on with a quicker pace. Somewhere.

I also admit I was almost ready to pull Tanzy out, as there didn’t seem to be much for her to do but talk and eat, which gets old. But I REALLY want to “play” with you guys and get to know you all better! I thoroughly enjoy rping with you, and can’t wait to do more. I would like a chance to RP with all of you in a small group setting outside of the MP, just to get to know you better as well as have fun. You have to understand that they don’t let us out much here in the toollee woods, and as much as I love my dear and trusted friend Gabby, she and I can talk pretty much anytime. We want a chance to branch out and make new friends.

So after I finished throwing my little internal tantrum and finished licking my sorta smooshed feelers (sorry, I’m the baby in the family and some habits die hard) I decided to continue the quest and “chill out”.

I truly do like having the chance to get to know all of you, and I thoroughly thank each and everyone of you for your patience, talents, lessons, personalities, and friendship.:heart::heart:

Consequently, I’m ready to go with the flow and RP whenever it’s possible to do so. Once school starts in earnest, Gabby and I will be tied up from about 7:30- 4:00 MST Mon. through Friday. (Correct me if I’m wrong, Gabby). There are other activities in the offing, but not sure of the dates. My Saturdays should be free and Sunday after 12:15. School will be starting for teachers Aug. 18th. (23rd for kids).

Again, thank you everyone for being such wonderful people. I feel like this is a home away from home, and you are all very special people that I feel privileged to get to know. I don’t want to run away!

Sorry this is so long. (Maybe there is a little Tanzy in me??)
Waiting to “write on”.

WARMEST HUGS to ALL:heart::heart::heart:

Tanzy, I'm so glad you decided to stay with us! This little Hobbit would have been saddened by your departure. And like you, I'm really looking forward to the next time that we all get together. Scheduling for so many people can be a challenge but worth the effort I believe, especially in this group. I have made such a great group of friends, you just don't know how much that means to me.

School (as far as teacher concerns) has started for me. Today it's at home work ~ coloring bulliten board pieces. If I was smart, I would buy the darn things...but I find most of the stuff I like in clip art books. Oops, went off topic didn't I???

Anyway, during school I ususally am gone from about 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CST. Evenings after that are usually free for me except for an occasional Thursday night meeting for my sorority. Saturdays during the day I usually reserve for myself. Alternate Sundays Doug has off and we do things together. During the winter though, we usually just sit tight at home.

The times that Goldie look fine with me. Although my personal feeling is that this darn work thing seriously interferes with my RP times. Harumph!

One thing to keep in mind too, is that it is nearing the end of the summer and people are getting their last minute summer stuff in. Even if you don't have kids in school, it seems that people do that. At least from what I observed.

So, I'm ready to go with the flow and get together when all are available. I want to see the funeral procession leave. That could be a really interesting session.

*hugs to all*

Well, now that I actually looked at my calendar for August, there is one weekend that I'm not available. My roommate from college is coming down here the 13th-15th and we're going antiquing. So I won't be available that weekend. Other than that, we're not going anywhere. *sigh* Just coloring and getting ready for school.

Gabby is ready to go with the flow as well, though I seriously considered having him get lost in the archives and miss the whole thing. I have decided against that. It will be difficult to get us all together but many of us are together at one point or another, can't the story move that way? Just keep a timeline or keep actually days dates vague until we are ready to leave Minas Tirith. Just a suggestion.
At any rate. I am pretty much going to around except for the weekend of the 21st. That's a family reunion. We'll probably be back on Sunday I just don't know when. Also moving the daughter to college on Monday the 16th. So the 15th will probably be an absolute frenzy. If Gabby were to appear he'd probably be very *GRUMPY*. Otherwise, I'm pretty open and will try to be flexible.

Looks like I'm part of the problems, not part of the solutions. I am going camping for the next 10 days and will not return home until 8/9. (That is barring any really BAD weather.) I will be on the Mississippi River just south of where the boarder of MO and IA meet, me being on the IL side. We usually get at least one day of really crappy weather.

Here we are. My thoughts on what might become the flow of things.

As Date Master I submit these dates.
July 10 - our first mega post meeting.
July 11 - Lostien's men tore apart the room across from Goldie's
July 12 - after breakfast we all went separate ways.
Gabby, Tanzy and Sila went to Osgiliath
Belle, Kain and Elfstan went shopping
Goldie and Janell did their own thing and met with Sila in the evening.
July 13 - The date we WERE to meet for our next mega post.

I suggest that we all do our own thing in Minas Tirith until the July 17. Everyone does what ever it is they want to do in or around the city. One idea would be for those members who can or want to can meet for meals in the inn to talk about their adventures, training, whatever, etc.

Those of you who wish to use LOTR book character's check in here to let other's know your plan, so we don't have them doing things in two places at the same time.

For myself, as you will see in my next post which hopefully will be sometime this evening, I will be in the ARCHIVES. In following with my personal story line there, I would ask that none of you speak to me. You may see me, but DON"T talk to me and don't have me say or do anything with you. To this there are exceptions: 1) Janell will encounter me there, 2) Gandalf may encounter me there. And as an FYI Siladan will be missing from the Adventure INN. She has disappeared as far as the group is concerned. Nobody knows where she is. NO BODY. That is unless after reading my post you have something very pertinent to say about having seen me. I hope you will all understand this and play along.

This laps of time between our last mega post and our next one is good for me. I have on personal post for Siladan and I need to write a post about what Lostien is up to and what happened to the guys that tore up the inn. Janell and I were planning to do a post between Fearakar and Lostien to move that along. Given the fact that I am going to be away for the next 9 days, I'm not sure how much will get written between now and Mon. 8/9

I have been watching your posts and all of you are really getting into your character and interacting with one another in very marvelous ways. Much more than I had hopped for when Goldie and I first started talking about doing the FoF RP. I am proud of you, each and every one. I know your collective creative minds can find ways to spend 3 or 4 days in a city the size of Minas Tirith. And don't forget, there is a lovely forest NW of the city. I could see a few things happening in there either now or when we leave the city. The Atlas of Middle-Earth by Karen Wynn Fonstad is an excellent reference book for most of the places where we will journey as this thing moves forward. Check it out.

Blessings on your houses! I will be checking in if I can find a phone line!

Giant Hugs and Kisses to all,
Lothien_Vilya.
P.S. Eomer arrives in Minas Tirith with the Escort for King Theoden on July 18. They will depart the city on July 19.

Thanks

Also Thanks to Tanzy and SIladan for a fun RP to Osgiliath. Sorry I didn't write that above the thread. I keep forgetting all thos elittle things.

Just a question here about posts and plots. If you haven't read the most recent posts, the Hobbits, Belle, and Kain have run afoul with a band of orcs. We are now off to do some posts of our own. I was having Elfstan go back to the HoH and talk to his master as he's kind of shook about the conflicting feelings about taking life and him being a healer and all. I was also going to have him talk to Aragorn about it too, as he would understand Elfstan's feelings. Is that going to mess up any subplot that's going around? It's not a huge deal if it doesn't work, just an avenue I was thinking about exploring

I have two things to say today.

1) I, as Lostien, see no conflict with Elfstan discussing his experience with Aragorn.

2) I see Kain and Belle and the hobbits have created an 'evil' occuring around MT that is not clear to Lostien. Is there an alter evil plot? or is Lostien responsible for involving orc's in his plans. If Lostien is responsible, I need someone to advise Lostien of their thinking. It can be incorporated into posts from his perspective.

Let me know! I am most happy to allow others to have input into Lostien's evil. Or into the evil of the other men in the squad.

Aiya everybody!
Just checking on a few things to make sure I don't crunch anybody's feelers or stomp on furture plans. After our camping trip Tanzy has a dream (nonsensical) which involves the others in the trip. Nobody does anything outrageaous or questionable or anything, but do you all (campers) want to read it before I post it? If so please let me know.

OH, MY!!! I go away for a few days and return to something absolutely stunning in my e-mail!!!

A very long time ago, after finding the artist Gwyllion in CoE's Invited Artist section of the Gallery and falling in LOVE with her magical artistry, I asked her if she would draw Goldie and Bruinen for me.

OH MY!!! She did!!! I am absolutely stunned by the beauty, detail and quality of her work and now I have some of my very own!!!

Here is a close-up Goldie in her profile and a close-up of Bruinen in his profile.

I am absolutely too stunned for words!

If you like Gwyllion's work, you can see the rest of it in her gallery. My favorite is still Glorfindel, well, until I saw Goldie and Bruinen together!!!

Now I'm off to read the two newest posts!

Goldie, just saw the pics on you and Bruinen and they are great. It's nice to see what you look like. And your wolf.

Hi everyone.

First: WOW!!! Pics of Goldie and Bruinen. What can you say! Errr, hmmm, *taps chin thinking*......WOW?

Second: I'd like to see your dream scheme, too Tanzy, if that's ok. Hope old Kain is in it.

Third: Lostien? I believe Belle has PM'd you with our thoughts. Hope it appealed to you. It seems a reasonable and interesting way to go. But as you are Lostien, it's whether you want to follow that idea.

Fourth: Balrog - I'm easy with pretty much any time or date anyone wants to sort out, except *any* Saturday. I was still thinking along the lines, though, that it would be early September before everyone was completely available.

Fifth: Well, Scots56. As the one of authors of our posts, I have to agree! Pretty exciting stuff, eh! Hope everyone enjoyed them. You should have been with us, the blood, the thrill of action, the bravery. Lol.

Looking forward to seeing everyone else's posts. Whoo Hoo. The suspense is killing me.

That was from my 7-28-04 post...

Without getting into really, really nasty ones, I think those terms about cover what you may be looking for. If I can just say that wench isn't really a *nasty* or derogatory term, more your jolly bar person or comely looking woman. Hope those helped.

Hello, All!

My sister and I are back from one and a half days of oogling, sketching, and otherwise going gaga over the LOTR costumes and props on exhibit in the Boston Museum of Science. Talk about information overload; too bad pictures couldn't be taken! Also there were no souvenir books; a genuine shame.

The stuff they had was just amazing; tons of minute detail you wouldn't necessarily see in the movie.

It's good to be back. The posts look marvelous! I got a look at Goldie and Bruinen, and wow! What a pair!

Tanzy, your dream sequence was great!

Regards,

Belle

Hi All,
Haven't seen the dream sequence yet, Tanzy.
Rose, glad to see by your post date that you weren't washed away there in England.
Belle, you lucky dog, an exhibit of LoTR.
Goldie, you and Bruinen are truly breathtaking. Now I know upon whom I am looking.
As for the date August 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. CA time works for me. Just keep in mind that Gabby may be about 15 minutes late. Church comes first. Gotta stay straight with "the big man" ya' know what I mean?

I've been gone a few days, missed you all.

Just thought I would poke my head in and see what's been happening.

I just read the last 2 posts in Journey and they were great. Seems like everyone is having fun at fighting but me.:cry:

Is Aug. 29 when we are doing the next RP? It's good for me. I have that day off.

Can't wait. I miss all of us being on together at one time. :disco:
