I miss all of you.:cry: I'm back to teaching school. Love the job, love the hours with the kids.:heart: It's the after school hours, the ripening peaches, cubscouts and booster club taking my time now. Not to mention a short vacation and a family reunion on separate weekends. Agh!!! Everything will settle in a few weeks then I will feel better. I need to be able to be awake for 24/7 for about a week to catch up.

Can't wait til the 29th.

Greetings, Traveling Companions

I am dropping in today, to tell you guys about a little experience I had this weekend. Actually, not the experience itself, but what has come out of it.

I was put into a position where I had to look at what I have been writing in a more critical light. I have had to stop feeding my own ego and look at the bigger picture of what this thread is about. - - And it isn't about me getting to search for my own literary beginnings. I have gotten just a little to deep in our thread and I think it has been a bit, shall we say, DARK. It hasn't been good for the whole group.

I want to let you know this, cause I think this thread needs to get back to happy times and happy adventures. I think we need more regular "mega meetings" and more getting together as a group.

I may even think about deleting some of my posts to the thread. I think this is an issue we should all discuss in our meeting on Sunday and talk about how we can turn this around and make it a happy experience for everyone.

I think every single person in our group has something valuable to give and valuable to say. We all make a whole! I have found a very warm spot in my heart for each of you and want very much for our "Fans over Forty" thread to keep going.

Spook said in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, when he was dying from the radiation "The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the one."

My goal going forward will be to just that. Blessings on your houses and hope to chat with you soon. If not, I will EEEE with you on Sunday.

Sunday is going to be good. :love:

Loth, I agree with you whole heartedly. :love: I'm sure everyone is just as eager to get things buzzing again and in a lighter frame of mind. Stuff happens and we have all had commitments of one form or another which has delayed the mega meetings. Just hang in there. :hug:

Hi gang. :wave:

Just to let you all know that I can't wait for Sunday. I know that we need to get together again because we have been on our own to much.

We need to seek solitude in each other. Sometimes being alone can get to some people. Even when we write group RP's together.

I hope everyone can make it Sunday. It would be a shame if one of us is missing.

Good luck to everyone on being there. :disco: :cheers:

Just so everyone is aware, the Mega Post from last Sunday is ready but I understand from Shireling that Brandywine wanted to post before it gets posted.

I have sent her a PM and await her reply. Didn't want you to think nothing was happening with it.

Hello!

Can someone help me out? I missed most of the chat going on at the last megapost, and am wondering what was it we were supposed to prepare, if anything, before the next megapost on 12 September.

Hey everybody!

I'm not sure how much I am going to be able to participate on Sunday (9/12) so I wanted to drop in and let you know a thing about my 'plans'.

I would like to see Frédoroth and Doromir, two of my characters in Lostien's company, LIVE through the attack. Frédoroth is a 'plant' in the company, by Gandalf and Doromir is his friend. They are really loyal to Gondor and should assist in putting an end to Lostien and survive. Fearakar, I think is the same, but he is Janell's character and it is up to her whether he lives or dies.

Hope everyone has a lovely 'short' week. Will look forward to 'watching' on Sunday.

:naughty: Oh! I can hardly wait!!!! You are all going to love what the hobbits have cooked up. We are all ready for action. Thanks to Elfstan and Tanzy for such a fun time on Monday Sept. 6 when we concocted our little plan. I wish you could have been there...but no...that makes the fun all the funner (is that a word?).
Lothien/Sila/sorry you will be incapacitated on Sunday. Hope you can join in some. Get well! You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Just wanted you all to know that you are the best folk in M-E and in any other Earth as well.

Well, I'm back.

Just had the greatest time RPing yesterday. It was excellent and great the way we fixed those people. I bet my fellow RPers would agree with me.

If anyone is reading this you have to check out RETURNING HOME: THE JOURNEY. It is one excellent read. You will be blown away from the story line and where we are taking our characters.

Again I would like to thank the gang for another excellent RP session. Can't wait for the conclusion.

Hello, All!

I will be away 14 - 17 September on business, and expect to return the evening of the 17th.

That was a super megapost last Sunday! I have edited and forwarded it to Brandywine. Hope to see you all Sunday for the next installment.

Hi everybody :wave:

I was just wondering if the mega post is moving. It's Thursday now and we have to have it posted by Sunday, don't we?

I'm looking forward to Sunday. It will be great to see the climax and everybody get back to Minas Tirith. Can't wait for our Journey Home to begin. If it is as exciting as the time in Minas Tirith has been, I won't have any edges left to my seats.

*hugs and cuddles to everyone*

Keep Well.

I too am looking forward to our Live RP on Sunday and everyone returning to MT! Goldie is missing you all!!!

But no, it doesn't have to be posted by Sunday, since it will take another week for this Sunday's MP to be edited and no one can post against it anyway... If that makes sense... lol

Awww... No worries, Brandywine! Since we who will be writing on Sunday have read it, there is no need for it to be posted by then. Off-computer life DOES have the priority. (I won't call it *real life* because my On-computer life is just as real!) See you all Sunday! :heart:

I just sent the Mega Post to Rose for her edit. I added a bit of stuff about Fingon and Jahan which I think makes the transition to the trees! At least I hope it does.

Wow. What a wonderful post it will be. I enjoyed Sunday very much, but was sad I couldn't jump in with more at the time. This coming Sunday should be a blast. I can type a little better now! Will miss those who won't be with us. I especially will miss our little hobbit healer. After all, who is going to help Belle make Siladan better?

Elfstan will really miss all of you on Sunday, but the AppleJack Festival and family obligations call. If you would, please leave some spaces for me to write myself in if that's okay. Maybe just "Elfstan write here" would work. If not, that's okay too.

All of you have a great weekend.

Well, due to a few people having to leave early, we didn't even come close to getting Sila out of Osgiliath.

I will PM the post to you, scots56 (and everyone so they all have it...), so you can read it and we can finish it next Sunday at the same time. Everyone else seems to be available.

If you are not available, please post that here.

It was great fun as always! :heart:

I don't think I'm going to be able to be there on Sunday. There is a Renaissance Faire near Lincoln that Doug and I are heading to if the weather permits. I'm sorry. It's too much fun to miss this time around. We missed it last year ~ the first year it ran, so I have been looking forward to it coming back. If the weather turns nasty though, I'll be there. If you would leave a space for little 'ol Elfstan to put in his two cents worth, I'd be grateful.

Miss you all

Aya Ladies!

For those of you who were unable to attend the Live RP yesterday, Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004 - We will plan to meet again next Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. CST which is our usual time for whatever time zone you are in.

Hopefully the copy will reach everyone this week for edit and addition of your own words in the appropriate places before we meet Sunday.

We had a wonderful time and a good session. We missed those of you who were off having fun in your respective areas. We also missed Goldie, as she suffered a power failure during our RP.

The story leaves off at the gate to Minas Tirith where Goldie and Fingorn, Sila's brother, and Jahan of the archives will meet Aragorn, who is carrying Sila on his horse, Belle, Janell, and the Hobbits.

The date in the story is July 17.

King Eomer arrives in M.T. on July 18 and the Escort departs on July 19. LotR states on page 954 (of the single volume) that they travel for 15 days coming to Edoras, they rest for three days and the funeral takes place on August 10. On the calendar I created for us, there are three extra days in there before, according to the book, the funeral takes place. I also have the date of the funeral listed as August 9 which is incorrect. The book states August 10 as the date of the funeral.

I can only assume that this is the failure of the calendar maker to fully understand the system of tracking days in that time.

In that light, it gives us 19 days to get Káin and Síladan healed and get us down the road to Edoras. That gives us plenty of time to have an adventure or two or three as we travel the road from Minas Tirith to Edoras.

I would like to suggest that due to the injuries of Kaín and Síladan that one of the company arranges for a room at an inn on the first or second level with a view of the Gate Courtyard (scene from the movie where Gandalf meets a returning Faramir.) This will give the injured a great view of the passing of the Escort while not being bumped around in the crowds gathered to view the passing 'parade.' (Káin and Síladan should travel there by cart.) Then everyone of the companions can either join the injured to view the Escort or watch it from where ever they desire and join with the injured for a feast planned by the companion acquiring the room. The feast will be a celebration of the life of Théoden, the demise of Lostien, the recovery of Síladan and of the bond that have grown between the companions.

We can do this as a live RP and then after that, we would each write a personal post to the thread of our own feeling and thoughts about the departure of the Escort and the events that have taken place thus far in the thread, as Goldie suggested awhile back.

I am personally very excited about this. It brings us as a company back together as a whole for the first time in some time and it helps to get us moving down the road on our journey.

My personal suggestion is that everyone re-read at the very least - the first few pages of the chapter Many Partings. That is page 952 of the single volume book. There is also some very interesting 'stuff' in the preceding couple of chapters. I have been studying these chapters and find it is very helpful for background information on our story.

I know I have gotten a little long winded here, for which I apologize. I am just thinking about a direction for us to move in and help tie us together in our thinking. I watched a wonderful program on TV the other night about 'collaborative writing.' And they talked about many of the things we are doing. But they also talked about everyone moving in the same direction with a common 'cause.' I just thought I might give us that common direction!

I welcome you comments and thoughts on this.

Those who will not be able to join the RP on Sunday, please post here so we all know.

Thanks for your time,
Lothien/Síladan

May the Blessing of the Valar be with you as you move through your week.

Hi

October 3 is fine for me. 7 pm UK time.

However, and to be honest, I don't think I am over happy about having to fill in 19 days in Minas Tirith. :twitch: I really thought we would be getting on our way.

Káin was not injured in the mélee at the Inn, he was only injured in the alleyway fight. It was just that the wound opened slightly during the fight at the Inn. He heals very quickly. He is happy at Gimli's and doesn't really want to stay at another Inn. He is a little grumpy about the thought of being trundled around on a cart. A bit demeaning for a Dwarf of his stature. He doesn't want his cousin, Gimli, smirking about him being a 'big girl'. *chuckles*.

Sorry if I sound a bit fed up, but the long period we had to cover last time, imaginary and in reality, with the time between meetings, was quite a strain. :dizzy:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Goldie!!!!
If I might add, I am very sorry to see that you have decided to leave us Goldie. Yes, your nestlings have taken flight, but it would have been nice to still have mother hen around.
I understand, however, about having too much on. It will be a sad farewell. :hug:
Rose and all
I don't think it is a problem for Kain NOT to ride in the cart. It was an offer. That can be adjusted no problem.
Also, we aren't spending the 19 days in Minas Tirith. Time passages do not have to be played out Day-for-Day. I think that if we finish up the rescue post. Get Slia 'medical' attention, then view the departure of the Escort. In theory give Sila a day or two to recoup we can then depart.
I would think the Rescue Story can be finished this Sunday and then next Sunday we see the Escort depart, we all write our personal feelling about the Escort and then the following Sunday (or next time we meet) We move the company out of MT. I don't think we need to stay in MT any longer. So, I am in agreement with you Rose.
There are statements in all writing that move people forward in a story: A # (of days) later the company set out on the road to ________.
Please, if any of you have differing oppinions, either PM me or post them here.
We are supposed to be having FUN! If we aren't having fun, then our direction has to change.
Hugs to all of you,
I also agree with Rose and Lothien_Vilya. We need to get out of MT and on our way. We have had too many adventures already in MT. I think we need to have a calm few days.
If we leave just after the Escort then we will have Kain and Siladan fully recovered by the time we get to Edoras. I, too, am getting tired of being in MT for so long.
These are my feelings.
I also will be there on Sunday.
Fellow Travelers,
As for the 17th, I was just doing my calendar for school. We have a skating party that afternoon and as I haven't been to the skating party for the last 2 years, I do really have to go to this one. I should be able to get in on the last part of the live RP though because it only runs from 1-3 p.m. CST. So if you don't mind Elfstan being a little late....
Hi All,
Belle, have a wonderful time in the home of my ancestors. Give Rose a big hug from those of us on this side of the pond.
As for the MP, Kass just PMed me, and she is having MAJOR computer problems. I just e-mailed you guys with the only e-mail address that she currently can get into which is her work one. But just for multiple listing's sake, here it is again.
It just took me 2.5 hours to get here. Got the mega post and it is my turn to do it. I won't be able to do my editing until tomorrow. Can you check with the others if you don't see it come around to you in a few days. God only knows when this machine will get fixed.
my blood pressure is sky high over new meds and this damnable machine...
Love you and all
