OOC: sorry, i am not the one at the door! lolz!

Arwyn Elladan Elrohir and Celeborn had slipped silently into the room. They were praying with all their might to the Eldar to let Anneruon be ok, and the words they longed to hear finally were said. Anneruon would be ok. All of their bodies sagged with relief, all was happening, too fast. Anneruon was hurt, Arwen was leaving Minas Tirith, and of course, the passing of Ellessar. Arwyn was hugged her father and then proceeded to stand by Eldarion. She put her arm around him and said, "My cousin," She paused, "I am sorry all of this had to come at the same time. If ever you need to talk, I am there for you." Arwyn didn't understand why, but she felt that most of all Eldarion needed someone to talk to someone to confide in. And she was going to let that person be her. But, before he could answer, there was a knock at the door...

OOC: Sorry I haven't posted for so long. I've had writer's block where this thread is concerned.

Banamir stood at the door, flowers in his hand. "I just heard," he said. "Is Aregwyn here?" At the sound of his voice, Aregwyn flew to the door. "These are for you," he said, handing the flowers to her. "But take them with you later-- for now the fragrance may comfort the young prince." He held her close and kissed her forehead. "How is he?"

"The healer says he will live," she answered, "and he thinks the damaged muscles will heal." Banamir sighed with relief. He could tell from the tremble in her voice how frightened she had been. Thank Eru the little one would be all right.
___________________________

Arwen lay on the bed, sunk into a dream and unwilling to leave it. Estel's presence had come to her, surrounded her with his love and comfort. Be strong, my dear one, she felt him whisper to her. Bide a while in Minas Tirith, for our grandson needs you. But before spring comes to Cerin Amroth, we will be together again. She longed to fall into his arms, and though she could not see him, she could feel the warmth of his embrace. Too soon, she felt him receding from her. The dream faded and she could hear the voices of her family around her. She did not want to wake, she tried to sink back into sleep, but could not. Then she heard the words, "the boy will recover," and relief swept through her. She would stay in Minas Tirith until he was well, then she would go to Lórien and dwell there on Cerin Amroth until she could go to her beloved.
______________________________

Now that he knew his son would be all right, Eldarion needed some fresh air. Grateful for the listening ear Arwyn had offered him, he asked her to join him outside. He slipped past Banamir and Aregwyn, only vaguely of the looks that passed between the two. As he walked, his feelings spilled out of him, feelings he had held inside until now, when Anneruon's injury made him so angry that he could not hold them in any longer. He was angry at Galma for his wild shot, angry that Anneruon had been able to get out of bed and leave the palace without anyone stopping him, angry that his father was not there to guide him, angry that when all he wanted to do was grieve, no one could leave him in peace. He was expected to comfort everybody, but he felt his father's loss keenly as well. He didn't want to be king. Elessar was Minas Tirith's king. But the choice was not offered him. Though he would rather stay with Anneruon, he must meet with the council today. He had put them off too long, and now his coronation must be planned. "Why must the crown be thrust upon me?" he asked Arwyn, tears beginning to well in his eyes. "I am my father's son. All my life I have been trained for this day. But I don't know if I can be the kind of king he was."

OOC: I have added some dialogue, Kellidra, for Banamir. If you don't think that it is correct then please PM me and I will edit it out. Anyway on with the story....

Aregwyn looked up as someone stood in the doorway, flowers in his hand.

Aregwyn looked up at his fair face. She looked into his eyes, they were filled with worry and pity. She gave him a reassuring smile. "Yes he is okay. Thank Eru!" Aregwyn exclaimed and moved closer to Banamir, "Banamir...I..." she stopped as Arwyn and Eldarion squeezed past them out of the door. She started to speak again when she saw that Banamir was looking around her, into the room. "Please, come in." she said and he stepped into the room. Aregwyn sensed his hesitation but she smiled and squeezed his hand. He looked at where the young prince Anneruon lay and looked to the second bed in the room. "Queen Arwen!" he gasped in shock. Aregwyn looked up at him. "Oh...no she's alright. I think the shock was what caused her to faint. When she saw Anneruon she just colappsed. It was too much for her to take, in this emotional time which we are all goind through. But my mother the most. She did love him after all, with all her heart. He was her one true love and being with him made her so happy."

Banamir smiled at her, he leaned down and whispered in her ear, "The same as me. You are my love, Aregwyn." She smiled at his kind words and kissed him tenderly but briefly on the lips. Gilwen, Eldarion's wife approached them slowly. She hesitantly stepped towards them, she didn't want to intrude after all. "I don't believe we have met. My name is Gilwen, I am Eldarion's wife and also Anneruon's mother." she grinned sheepisly as she introduced herself to him. He returned the expression and said, "Good day, m' lay Gilwen. My name is Banamir, son of Lanamir and I am one of Eldarion's counsellors." he bowed at the woman, respectfully and put his arm around Aregwyn, who smiled at his touch. Gilwen looked at them, back and forth and then figured it out. "Oh..." she said aloud, almost to herself, "So you are the Man which Aregwyn is courting?" He blushed slightly at her knowledge of the subject then nodded, "Yes I am. And I am courting a woman that I dare not think myself worthy of." Aregwyn looked up at him, happily and he smiled at her. A smile touched Gilwen's lips and she excused herself, saying she wished to speak to the healer...

Banamir looked down questioningly at her. Aregwyn shrugged, "What?!" she asked, inocently. "How come she knew I was courting you?" he asked her. She bit her lip, "Well there is an incy wincy chance that I might of mentioned you once or twice. Or hundreds of times." the last bit she whispered quietly so he could not hear. "Oh." he said and Aregwyn pouted, looking up at him. "Surely you are not going to tell me off for telling everyone how much I love you!" She pouted some more, fluttering her eyeslashes innocently. "Course not." he stated simply and kissed her gently on the lips, hugging her close to him.

Arwyn followed Eldarion outside. "Eldarion, my dear, you will never be the king your father was. But you can be the best king you can be." She knew this wasn't making much sense, she continued, "Eldarion, everyone is different, no one could be the king that your father was. But I am not saying that you will not be a good king." She stopped as something dawned on her. "Eldarion? Do you think that your mother leaving Minas Tirith has to do with you being a bad king?" She stopped and waited for him to answer. As she waited she thought Taid Ada, if you can still hear my thoughts. Help Eldarion know that he will be a good king. And help Arwen do what she must do, whatever that is. she finished thinking and looked to Eldarion.

Aregwyn broke away even though she didn't wish too. She wanted to stay forever in his gentle embrace. She wanted him to hold her close, forever. She wanted to spend the rest of her days with the man who now looked down at her. She wanted to be with him so much. Her heart yearned for his company, to be alone with him. To feel his soft touch on her skin. To kiss him without anybody else around to notice. They had only been courting for a short while but already Aregwyn longed to be with him. Share everything with him, be with him. To be with him, alone, no-one else to interupt them. She longed to kiss him all night long and never let go of his tender embrace. She looked up at him, unsure if he wanted the same as her. He just smiled and moved over to the bed where Anneruon lay. He looked at the prince as he slept and Aregwyn came up beside Banamir and slid one arm around his waist. He pulled her closer and wrapped his arms around her too, in a protective way. As Aregwyn watched the little boy sleep she made a desicion. She had to talk to Banamir about their relationship, it's just that she didn't want to scare him away or lose him. For when she was near him joy took over her and when he kissed her she just felt happy and was oblivious to anything else that was going on around her.
'Yes' she thought, 'I must speak with him about us.'

Banamir looked down at the sleeping boy. Aregwyn's nephew was a beautiful child. He could not imagine himself in Eldarion's place now, or Aregwyn in Gilwen's. The boy lay there so pale, taking shallow little breaths. If the healer had not said he would be all right, Banamir would have thought Anneruon near death. He looked at Aregwyn, who stood beside him, her arms about his waist. "Let's take a walk," he said, gently smoothing back a strand of hair from her forehead. "If you don't mind leaving him for a bit, perhaps we could sit in the gardens and talk." She nodded and he escorted her out.

As they walked, he remained silent, carefully planning what he wanted to say. He sensed she had questions for him, as well. Though he would have preferred the private garden where they had walked before, he knew she would want to stay near the Houses of Healing, so he led her to a bench not far away. As they sat, they could enjoy the warm sun on their backs. Tenderly, he took Aregwyn's hand in his own. "I love you, Aregwyn," he began, "and though we have only been seeing each other a short time, I cannot imagine sharing my life with anyone but you." He could not think what else to say. It was too soon, he knew, but he had to let her know how he felt. Encouraged by the love he saw in her eyes, he knelt before her. "Aregwyn, I was going to wait until after your brother's coronation. But I cannot wait any longer. If it's too soon for you, I understand, but I need to ask. Will you consent to be my wife?"
_______________________________

Eldarion turned from Arwyn and looked out over the city. She had not quite understood him. "No, I don't worry about that. My mother has confidence in me, as did Ada, but she is full of such sorrow at my father's passing. The light has gone from her eyes and she seems... well... cold... as when winter blows in from the mountains. As much as she loves us, there is nothing for her in Minas Tirith without my father, her Hope. I understand my mother and the reason she is leaving, the reason she cannot bear to see me on father's throne. I do not doubt her love." He placed a hand atop the wall and fingered the stones. "But I doubt myself. Will I rule wisely? Will I be just? Will the people place their confidence in me? Ada told me before he died that he was proud to pass the Ring of Barahir to me. I do not want to disappoint him. He came to this city a hero, accepted and loved by a people whose very lives he helped save. But I come to them only because I am his son. I have done no heroic deeds, Arwyn. I have saved no one. My only claim to this throne is as Elessar's son." He looked up at his cousin, thankful that he could at last share with someone the fears and doubts that had plagued him. "I know what I have to do, Arwyn. I must take the throne. I just don't know that I'm ready."

Arwen awoke and looked about her. Anneruon lay still on his bed, his eyes closed and his face pale. She sat up slowly. Not noticing the others who stood about the room, she stood and approached the boy's bedside. "Oh, my dear Grandson," she said, kneeling beside him. "Taid Nana is here with you. You will be all right." She stroked his forehead and began to sing him a lullaby.

Aregwyn looked down at him as he asked her, "Will you consent to be my wife?" Aregwyn gasped shocked at this. Yes, she knew they had been courting, but not for very long. It came as a surprise to her, she suddenly had trouble breathing from the shock. He sensed her hesitance and looked down at the ground,as if he'd done the wrong thing. Aregwyn saw this and cupped his chin in her hands, bringing him up to look at her eyes. She smiled sweetly at him and then said without any regrets: "I would like that more than anything in Middle Earth! Yes of course I will!" He looked at her relieved and she smiled and hugged him, placing her head on his shoulder. She burst into tears and he stroked her hair. She broke from the embrace, trying to hold back the tears which he wiped away from her fair face. Then he stroked her cheek tenderly and they both leaned in for a deep, passionate kiss...

Banamir held Aregwyn close, grateful that she had said yes. He could hardly believe she had agreed, and he did not understand what she saw in him. He had dreaded asking her the question, but also dreaded not asking her. He pulled gently away from her and looked in her eyes. "Thank you, Aregwyn. Truly, I am the happiest man in Middle Earth. But I have asked you before I should have. The city is still in mourning over your father, and we must wait a while to make our plans. We should keep our engagement between us, a wonderful secret that only we share, until the time of mourning has ended. Can you do this, dear one?"

OOC: I don't really know what to write now but here it is anyway..

"Of course," she told him, "I would do anything for you, my love. It's just I am so excited about this...I am bursting with joy but I will have to try and calm myself I guess!" she laughed and smiled at him. She couldn't believe it, now they could be together forever well after the mourning period had passed and Eldarion crowned King. But she knew she needed to tell someone but she had promised him she wouldn't. 'Oh' she thought, 'How am I ever going to keep this a secret.' Aregwyn was a chatter box and this was a huge secret to keep! But she promised him and she would stick to that promise because it was his will and she loved him and would do anything that he asked of her! She smiled at him and began to speak, "I am not sure some people even know about our courting!" Banamir looked at her confused, "I don't think Eldarion had realised but..." Banamir stopped her. "Eldarion doesn't know?" he asked her and she shook her head and leaned down to whisper in his ear, "It will be our little secret!"

"Eldarion, everything happens in it's due time." She paused and looked out over the city. "You were destined to become king. It happened in the time it was supposed to happen. Nothing ever happens at the wrong time Eldarion. We cannot see what the future holds. We will know one day." Arwyn felt that her grandfather Elrond was speaking through her to Eldarion. She had never been one to give advice, or give words of knowledge and wisdom. But here she was saying this to Eldarion. She was quite pleased with herself. She smiled and took Eldarion's face in her hands. "You," She paused as she looked deep into his eyes and saw a part of him that she had never known. A part of him that made him a carbon copy of his father. "You...uh..." She couldn't find the words anymore. She could only stare into his eyes, and see his father. Her eyes welled up with tears as it finally dawned on her that Aragorn was gone forever.

Banamir smiled at her last comment and took her hand. They stood up together and started to walk back towards the Houses of Healing. Aregwyn felt joy spreading through her and almost felt like skipping along the terrace and singing a joyful tune at the top of her lungs.
'But that might cause a little bit of suspiscion' she thought and laughed at the thought. Banamir looked down at her an amused expression on his face. "So you are happy?" he asked her even though he knew the answer. "Of course!" Aregwyn giggled and beamed broadly, her eyes shining with glittery stars. "But come, let us return to Anneruon." Banamir nodded and leaned down and kissed her briefly on the lips. Then holding each others hands they walked joyfully back into the room. Everyone looked up as they entered and Aregwyn noted that Arwyn and Eldarion still hadn't returned from wherever they had vanished off to. She went and sat down beside the boy. She noticed her mother was also sat beside him smoothing his hair out and she looked up as her daughter came in then went back to singing a soft lullaby to him. Aregwyn looked down at the boy, he seemed soothed by his grandma's smooth, soft voice and her gentle tune. Aregwyn smiled happily and her mother finished the tune and Anneruon looked to be asleep. She looked up at her daughter, still clutching his small hand in her own. "What has made you so happy, my daughter? Joy seems to beam around you!" Aregwyn just smiled and she looked to Banamir who stood behind her and shook her head. "Nothing important, really." she assured Arwen even though she knew it was a downright lie and this was the happiest day of her life!...

"So you must have had a good talk, to put you in such a fine mood!" Arwen mumbled and Aregwyn blushed and looked at Banamir who smiled kindly.
"Where is Eldarion...and Arwyn?" Aregwyn asked her mother, trying desparately to change the subject. "I think they went outside my daughter." So she stood up and moved to the door. Gilwen stopped her, "Princess Aregwyn if I may have a word outside." Aregwyn nodded and they both left the room...

Gilwen stopped her outside the door and they strolled quietly down the corridor before Gilwen decided to ask, "Aregwyn? Have you noticed anything odd about Eldarion lately? I know that King Elessar's death had had a huge effect on him but he is not getting much sleep and the incident with Anneruon has made it worst. He seems to be worrying and when I ask him he says that he is fine. But I know that something is nagging him, in his mind. He won't mention it to me, but I wondered if he had confided in you about anything recently?" Aregwyn shook her head, "No. Either there's nothing wrong or he is doubtful or worried about something. I am thinking the latter. He seems saddened by ada's death as were we all but I think he feels that he cannot replace our ada, as King I mean. I don't know whether this is true, I can only suspect this!" Gilwen nodded and thanked her for confirming her suspicions. Then they walked together down the corridor in search of Eldarion. They did not find him in the Great Hall, or near his room. He was nowhere to be seen. But they both looked outside and found him talking to Arwyn. Gilwen went to talk to him but Aregwyn stopped her. "I think he is talking to her about something important. He may have even mentioned what's been worrying him. Leave him to talk." she advised her and Gilwen agreed so they started to make their way back to the Houses of Healing. Aregwyn was just about to open the door when Gilwen asked her, "Why are you so happy all of a sudden. It's Banamir isn't it? What's he said that has put you in a good mood?!" she inquired and the young princess replied, "I would tell you if I could but alas I have been sworn to secrecy by him."
"Oh so it is Banamir!" smirked Gilwen and Aregwyn mentally hit herself for being so stupid.
"look I realy can't say anything!" She told her seriously. "Alright but if you ever want to share this secret with me you always know where to find me!" And she walked back into the room. Aregwyn laughed to herself. If she told Gilwen about Banamir's proposal it would be around the whole city before dawn! But she had to admit she was finding it hard not to tell her mother of the plans. After all it was her mother, and she wouldn't tell anyone. Aregwyn just needed to desparately tell someone or she was going to burst. She wasn't sure if Eldarion would approve. He was rather protective of his little sister, always had been. But surely if she was happy and so was Banamir then he would be happy for them...or would he?...

OOC: I am leaving tomorrow on a week-long vacation. I should be back Sunday, March 19, but probably too late to post till the following day. I have asked arwen to take over my characters.

Banamir stood back by the door after Gilwen and Aregwyn left. He know that, though she given her blessing to their courship, Queen Arwen had not wanted to meet him, and he understood why--Aregwyn had explained her feelings to him. So he felt awkward in this room. As soon as he could, he slipped out unobtrusively to wait for Aregwyn in the hall. He would kiss her and tell her to stay with her mother, then he would go home. He didn't mind. Aregwyn belonged with her family now, in a way he could not at the moment, but as long as he knew she had promised to be his, he could wait.
___________________________

Eldarion smiled at Arwyn, puzzled though he was at her tears. What was it about him that made her cry? His mother acted the same way when she looked in his face. Did they see Elessar in his eyes? Naneth had always said he had his father's eyes. He hugged his cousin. "Thank you, Arwyn. Your words have encouraged me. I want to make my father proud and rule this city as he has done."
___________________________

Arwen stroked Anneruon's brow and sang to him. She knew the medicine he had been given would keep him asleep for some time yet, but she longed for him to open his eyes and smile at her. For now, he was her only reason for staying in Minas Tirith. If it weren't for him, she might have left already. "But you need me, don't you grandson?" she murmered gently. She stroked his arm. "Let me tell you a story about your taid ada, the greatest of kings ever to rule in Gondor."

(OOC: I have taken kellidra’s characters. Sorry if it’s long!)

Banamir waited a little while longer for Aregwyn outside the room. Aregwyn emerged from round the corner talking to Gilwen. She broke off talking to Aregwyn when she noticed him standing there and moved around him to enter Anneruon’s room. Aregwyn walked up to Banamir and smiled at him. He returned this but sighed slightly. “What is wrong, my love?” Aregwyn asked him. He looked at her steadily. ‘Yes’ he thought to himself, ‘She should be with her family. She needs them now and they need her.’ Then turning to embrace Aregwyn he said, “Nothing. I am fine. Stay with your mother now, she is the one who needs you most. I regret to say that I must leave.” And with that he leaned over and planted a small kiss on her lips and strolled off down the corridor. Aregwyn looked at him with confusion. He seemed rather quick to want to leave! She thought but shrugged her shoulders and pushed the door open to the room…

Banamir quickly walked off. He thought to himself rather hard. Yes he loved Aregwyn but her family needed her now, he decided. She needed to be with them as much as he wanted to be with her, he put his happiness aside to see her back with her relatives. He carried on walking until he came to his house. His mother looked up from her needlework as he entered and as he shut the door she went into the kitchen. “Would you like something to eat? I haven’t seen you all day!” She commented but he shook his head. “No thank you mother. I have been to the palace. The young prince, now I guess, is has been injured and when I heard I went to see how his family was.” He told her calmly. “Yes.” She said, “But most of all Princess Aregwyn. Ehh?” He nodded and blushed slightly. He didn’t want his mother intruding on his love life. And he certainly wasn’t going to mention his proposal to her. He sighed. He knew he would have to tell her sooner or later and he would also need to, once the period of mourning was over, ask her brother’s permission for her hand in marriage. This he was most nervous about because he knew that Eldarion didn’t even know they were courting so to hear of his proposal would be most surprising to him. Then Banamir thought: Maybe they should take it slower. He loved Aregwyn more than he had loved anyone else but…he had only been courting her for a very short while. She had accepted his proposal but Banamir wasn’t sure if this was what she truly wanted. He knew he wanted it but the question was more of what Aregwyn wanted. He sighed and tried to push these thoughts out of his mind. He suddenly felt as if he didn’t want his mother’s inquiring gaze upon him so he told her that he was going to bed for a while, for a short rest. She nodded and he ascended the stairs. He pushed his bedroom door open and flopped down onto the bed. He rested on his back and looked up at the ceiling, thinking of Aregwyn. No matter how hard he tried the nagging worries of taking it too fast were clouding his brain. He closed his eyes and soon fell into a troubled sleep…

Aregwyn watched as Banamir walked off. She hoped he wasn’t regretting asking her to marry him. He seemed a bit hasty in wanting to leave and she hadn’t got the chance to say a proper goodbye like they did whenever they parted. She sighed and went into the room. There she saw her mother telling Anneruon a story and the boy was propped up in bed listening intently to her every word. Aregwyn smiled and sat down on the other side of the bed, next to Gilwen. But Gilwen stood up when she entered and apologised saying she needed to find Eldarion. But as Aregwyn settled down and listened to her mother’s words she realised that they were about her father. Aregwyn bit her lip. Had Arwen started these stories or had Anneruon requested them? She was worried about how this topic of Aragorn would affect her mother. But as Aregwyn listened it seemed that Arwen was happy to continue with the stories of the War of the Ring. She told tales of how Aragorn had helped to save the Hobbits from the terrifying Ringwraiths, how had volunteered for the Fellowship and departed the next day, how he had led the Fellowship when Gandalf had fallen, how he had met with Lady Galadriel (Anneruon’s great-great grandmother), how he had helped destroy the thousand of orcs which attacked the Deeping Wall, how he had convinced King Theoden of Rohan to come to Gondor’s aid. When Arwen got to the part about the summoning of the army of the dead, Anneruon gasped. He listened closely with pure admiration at what his grandfather had done. And when he heard how Aragorn had fought at the Pelennor Fields then marched on the Black Gate (where he was confronted by thousands upon thousands of orcs) to give the Ring-bearer time, Anneruon smiled, in true awe at his grandfather’s bravery. When he heard how the Ring was destroyed he cheered happily and a smile touched Arwen’s lips. But her story wasn’t over, she told him of how Aragorn was crowned King and reunited with her. She told tales of the years after his reign, when he kept any of the remaining allies of Sauron at bay. Of the elves and Elrond and their sailing to the West. She told him what she knew of Hobbits and their culture and he had an amused expression on his face when Arwen told him of the songs they sung:

You can search far and wide.
You can drink the whole town dry.
But you’re never gonna find a beer so grand.
As the one we drink in our home town!

You can keep your fancy ales.
You can drink ‘em by the flagon.
But the only brew for the brave and true…
Comes from the Green Dragon!

“Very different from Elven Lore as you can probably tell.” She told him and he giggled, delightfully. These creatures called hobbits seemed to have a very fun life of food, beer and smoking pipe weed! He thought to himself as he laughed. But he knew his grandmother was right, very different from Elves. Lord Celeborn: his great-great-great (?) grandfather had told him all about the Elven culture and kingdoms and it seemed the elves had lived a very musical and beautiful and peaceful and graceful life!

Arwen’s storytelling came to an end and she sat quietly, thinking to herself. Aregwyn saw this and was nervous in case the subject caused her to cry again. But her mother looked up and Anneruon hugged her. His little arms wrapped tightly around her neck. “Thank you, taid nana!” he said and planted a small kiss on her cheek. She smiled at him and looked at him. His face reminded her so much of Elessar, as did Eldarion’s, and she saw this. She paused for a moment and began breathing rather heavily. Aregwyn moved over to her concerned but she said she was fine but after that she sat holding Anneruon’s hand and not saying a word.

(OOC: Sorry if this is quite short! I am not the expert on Eldarion’s character so I only hope that I have done alright!)

Eldarion stood silently as Arwyn cried. Then he hugged his cousin. "Thank you, Arwyn. Your words have encouraged me. I want to make my father proud and rule this city as he has done." Arwyn nodded and he dried her tears with his hand. “I think maybe I must talk to the counsellors after Anneruon is better. They wish to talk to me regarding the coronation but as of late I have tried to avoid them as best I could. I don’t think I can do so now…I will arrange a meeting for tomorrow. You can be present if you like.” He offered and Arwyn smiled. Eldarion decided, yes he would talk to all his counsellors and plan the meeting, for the following day. He couldn’t possibly avoid them any longer! And after his talk with Arwyn he was sure that he could rule the city, his father would have believed in him, he just needed to believe and have confidence in himself! Suddenly Gilwen emerged into the Citadel and seeing her Eldarion walked over to her. “Hello, dearest. I am sorry I left you and Anneruon, but I needed to urgently get something off my chest and Arwyn here…” he motioned to Arwyn who smiled at Gilwen, “Helped me come to a decision.”
“What would that decision be, my love.” Gilwen asked him. He sighed, he hadn’t mentioned his worries to his wife, he was worried that she would become caught up in his troubles if he told her. He sighed again. “Well, I need to meet with the counsellors. I have been trying to avoid them, they want to start meetings about my coronation and my new rule over this city. I was unsure of myself so I tried to dodge their urgent questions. But I can’t do that anymore. I will have to meet with them tomorrow to discuss the pressing matters, concerning Gondor.” He finished; glad to have that huge worry and weight he’d been carrying out in the open. Gilwen curled her arm around Eldarion, “You will make an exceptional King.” She told him and he kissed her on the lips, “And I think that you will make a beautiful, kind, fantastic Queen too!” She laughed and he embraced her warmly. He kissed her again and looked up. Arwyn must have slipped away quietly and Eldarion smiled and kissed his wife tenderly again and she smiled happily. Then after many small kisses later they re-entered the palace and walked into the room…. everyone looked up as they entered…

Arwyn had slipped away, she went to a garden, the same garden that Banamir had take Aregwyn. She remembered being here, when Arwen had first come to live here with Aragorn, right after the war of the Ring. She had come here often, even when her presence in Minas Tirith wasn't known to the Royal Family, her family. She fingered one of the few blossoms on the beautiful tree that stood in the center of the hidden garden. Whenever she was alone, it was as if she could feel her grandfather's spirit around her. Though Elrond was not dead, no, he would send his love to her a lot, and she could feel it. "Taid Ada." She whispered in her sing song voice. Which was clouded with doubt. "Why did I stay? You were right, I should have gone with you. I do not belong here." She paused, "There is no love for me in Middle Earth, I fooled myself." Her eyes did not fill with tears. She only stared intently at the flower she was still fingering. Arwyn she heard the wind whisper. You cannot dwell on what you cannot change. The wind was blowing furiously as she heard more voices in it. They sounded like her grandfather's. You are among people you love, help them. Then it stopped. The wind ceased as quickly as it had begun. She continued fingering the flower, then she sank to the ground and sat, silent tears flowing down her cheeks. She wondered if anyone knew of this garden besides Arwen and herself. She did not know that Banamir had taken Aregwyn there earlier. But then she heard footsteps behind her...

Aregwyn looked at her mother. Arwen was still holding Anneruon's small, pale hand in her own. The little boy was sleeping soundly and Arwen had dozed off in the chair beside his bed. She looked alright so Aregwyn slipped out of the room quietly to find out where Gilwen, Eldarion and Arwyn were. She turned the corner and Gilwen and Eldarion appeared, holding hands and laughing happily. They smiled as they passed Aregwyn. Eldarion stopped and said to his sister, "Thanks for comforting Gilwen. Something had been worrying me but it is sorted now. I will meet with the counsellors tomorrow, I can't keep avoiding them!" Aregwyn nodded. "I am glad you are at ease now, with the coronation." Her brother nodded and they both excused themselves. Eldarion and Gilwen were going to check on their son and then see if their was any dinner for them to eat.

Aregwyn walked away from Gilwen and Eldarion. She thought hard to herself. Happy as she was with Banamir's proposal she knew that her brother was slightly protective of her and might not agree to the marriage. Then Aregwyn's mind wandered to Banamir and she couldn't help thinking about how fast he had left, that afternoon. Sure he had kissed her and left but they hadn't really had time to say a proper goodbye. She thought hard and then a horrible thought flashed through her mind....'what if Banamir regretted his proposal to her....what if he wasn't sure he loved her! Sure they had taken it a little fast but Aregwyn loved Banamir and sometimes if you love someone,' Aregwyn thought, 'It didn't matter how long you had known them!' She knew she loved Banamir with all her heart but after his hasty departure she couldn't help worry that he felt differently.
'What if he doesn't love me anymore, now he's got to know me a bit better!' Now Aregwyn felt tears start to form as she walked on. She didn't really know where she was going. Her feet led her to the garden where her and Banamir had walked earlier. She saw a figure sat beside the flowers, as she listened she heard sobs coming from the person.
Arwyn! She gasped. She ran to her, putting her arms around the elf and comforting her. She made Arwyn's gaze meet her and she saw tears dripping down her cousin's face. "What is wrong, my cousin? Why do you weep?" She waited for her cousin, who was still crying, to answer...

OOC:  Hi, my char is in the DM. arwen_the_evenstar invited me.

BIC: Aaweth rode had been riding two days straight to return to Gondor. She had been living out in the wild for 4 years, but she had heard word of king Aragorns death and knew she had to get back to her home.

She paused for only a moment when she reached the grounds. She then fliched her horses reins and headed onwards.

When she reached the gates, the guards gave her trouble. "Listen, I am Aaweth Edian, Stewardess of Minis Tirith and Princess of Ithilien. I order you to let me into this moment." she snapped. Aaweth hated to use her high standings this way, but she was tired, hungery, and impatient.
"I-I am sorry, m'lady." they said, stepping aside and bowing. She nooded to them and trotted briskly in on top of her horse. She dismounted and handed the reins to the stablehand, after taking her bag off of her.

The young woman strode the grounds looking for Arwen and breathed a small sigh when she found her. She bowed to the queen. "Hello my queen." she said to her, "How are ye faring?"

She bowed to the other people that were there as well and then stood tall and unblinking. She put her hands behind her back and had her feet together. She waited for any orders the queen might have her do or any other person there would have of her.

OOC: Hope that is OK. Not sure who all is there. :dizzy:

Arwyn sobbed in the arms of Aregwyn. "Aregwyn..." she said slowly because her voice cracked. "He is gone....everyone is gone." Arwyn felt an emptiness that she had never felt before. It was as if her hope had died with Aragorn, she had always felt that there was a man or elf or person out there for her, but ever since Aragorn had died, she had the terrible feeling that her time was coming to a close, that perhaps there wasn't a man out there for her. "I do not know what I will do..." She buried her face in her cousin's shoulder and cried. "There is no one there for me. I am alienated from my own family. I wish this had never happened. I wish I had just sailed to the Undying Lands like Taid Ada had told me. But no, I had to stay, I had to stick to the hope that the Valar had a better fate for me than the fate that was offered to me." The tears continued to stream down her face, as she spoke. "Your mother was so happy, she is lucky that she was able to have those many years with Elessar, but me, I didn't have any time with a man. Perhaps, I can sail with Legolas to the Undying Lands, he plans to build a boat and diminish into the West." she paused, "I do not know what I am saying cousin. I just feel so lost, I have finally realized that Aragorn is gone forever. What should I do, I feel so lost." Arwyn took the back of her hand and wiped the tears from her tear-stained face.

(OOC: I am not sure how the timeline is going. It seems like we have been on one day for a while so this post is still for the same day but it is getting quite late and growing dark. It is after sunset that day. Okay? …)

Aregwyn looked at her cousin, who was still sobbing in her arms. She was unsure as of what to say but tried to comfort Arwyn. "There is someone out there for everyone. Trust me. And when that being comes to you, you will know. Whether it be a Man or an elf someone is out their for you. You just haven't met him yet!" She knew this wouldn't be much comfort but it made her uncomfortable to watch her cousin weep she so tried another approach, "But if you had sailed into the West, yes life would be different for you but could you have beared to leave all others who love you behind. You are still with family, you will always be. Don't you ever forget that. We are here for you, and always will be. And remember that person will come and when you are in his arms you will be glad that you stayed with family and friends because you'll have him and nothing will be able to separate you. You never know what's round the corner, he could be closer than you think, dear cousin." Her cousin looked up a bit and Aregwyn knelt down beside her. She offered her a tissue to dry her tears, which Arwyn gladly accepted. "Come." said Aregwyn, "Tell me anything you want. I will provide a listening ear." She waited for Arwyn's response...

Gilwen sat beside Eldarion. She was glad that he had finally accepted his father’s death and was ready to face the coronation. For she hated it when he worried and fretted about something that he didn’t tell her what was wrong. She was his wife and could have comforted him in the past few days and reassured him, if only he had told her. She sighed at this thought and picked up an apple. Eldarion smiled at her as he finished his bread and took a swig from the goblet of wine at the table. He looked at her then said, “I am sorry I didn’t tell you, I should have. Then you wouldn’t have had to be worried as well!” She smiled and he stood up. “Now I have to go and see one of my chief counsellors. He was with Aregwyn earlier. His name is Banamir. I don’t know how Aregwyn knows him but she seems quite friendly with him. She hasn’t mentioned anything to you, has she?” Gilwen gulped slightly.
He didn’t know about the courting couple! He must have been really caught up in his worries if he hadn’t noticed the two kissing yet! She thought then replied simply, “No, no. Maybe he just came to offer his condolences about your father’s death and wish that Anneruon would get well.” Eldarion looked at her suspiciously but then shrugged, “Oh well. I must go and see him. He is my chief counsellor so I will arrange with him a meeting with the council soon.” Then he walked out of the room, but not before giving his wife a quick kiss on the cheek, and he pushed the doors open to the Citadel…
Gilwen could hardly contain her laughter and once he left the room she burst out laughing, “Wow!” she mused to herself, “He must have really been oblivious to everything around him in the past few days; if he doesn’t know about Aregwyn and Banamir!” A servant rushed to clean the table as she stood up and she thanked the serving woman and departed the room…

Eldarion walked down the streets of the 5th level searching for Banamir’s house. He spotted it and went to the door. He gave a sharp knock on the door and a flustered woman answered. “My King,” she bowed respectfully, “What can I do for you?” Eldarion had a pained look on his face at her words and she thought she had offended him. She blushed but he answered, “Please just call me Eldarion. I am not your King, yet. In fact that is why I am here,” he continued, “Could I please speak to Banamir?” The flushed woman invited him in and offered him a seat while she went to call Banamir. Eldarion shut the door behind him as she ran up the creaky stairs. He looked around the warm house, it was filled with fabrics and a huge cabinet, near the stairs, was filled with trinkets and ornaments. He looked closely at them, fascinated. There were many ornaments of Minas Tirith and Osgiliath. There was even a model of King Elessar himself and Eldarion wondered where they had got such a fine sculpture. He gazed at it, looking into his father’s eyes. The more he looked at it the more he became determined to prove that he was a worthy King and would rule the kingdom as his father did, with fairness and justice. He smiled and was lost in his own thoughts until he heard heavy footsteps on the stairs and a man coming down them. The woman scurried after the Man and went off into the kitchen to make a hot drink for them both but Eldarion politely declined and spoke quickly to Banamir, “Banamir, you have been a great counsellor to both myself and to my father in the last years of his life. I call for your counsel now. I am ready to accept the throne. Do you think we could call a meeting for tomorrow to discuss the coronation? Of course the actually ceremony won’t happen for many weeks but I feel we should at least meet together to discuss the matter.” Banamir nodded, “Yes sire. I feel that we should have a meeting as soon as possible even if the coronation doesn’t take place until the period of mourning is over.” They both agreed and Eldarion made to leave and the woman showed him out, “Good day, to you both.” He nodded and opened the door but turned back to Banamir, “Yes, I think the meeting should take place maybe tomorrow. I will discuss it with the other counsellors first.” Banamir nodded and bowed as Eldarion left the house.

Banamir watched as Eldarion left. He wondered if he should have asked him for Aregwyn’s hand in marriage but then decided against it. After all she needed her family right now, and her family needed her. No. He said to himself firmly. He could not go and see her, no matter how much his heart desired to be with her. He needed to keep away from her and her family. Give her a bit of space and time for them. He sighed heavily though. He knew he was doing the right thing by waiting till the mourning time had passed before asking for consent but his heart ached to be with her now, even though he firmly told himself not to go to her now. She just needed some time alone, now to be with her family he concluded and went into the kitchen to see if his mother needed any help with the cooking of dinner…

Arwen woke with a start. She sat up on the chair, where she had been sleeping. She still held Anneruon's small, pale hand in her own. She looked at him. He was silent and sleeping so she let go of his hand and stood up. She was about to go when the little boy woke up, suddenly. She turned back round to him and sat on his bed. She smoothed his hair out and softly sang a lullaby till he went back to sleep. She checked he was asleep then she carefully made her way out of the room, taking care not to make any noise....

Arwen shut the door quielty and walked quickly through the corridors. They were silent even though it was only about 10 o clock. When she turned the corner she saw a woman come towards her. She bowed to the queen. "Hello my queen." she said to her, "How are ye faring?" Arwen looked at her steadily. She remembered her from somewhere she couldn't remember her though...
"I am Aaweth, stewardess of Minas Tirith." she explained to the queen, quietly. Arwen smiled, slightly, "Oh yes." she remembered, "I haven't seen you since you were just a small child, you used to play with Aregwyn and Eldarion and I knew your mother. As did my Estel." She stopped when she came to his name. The pain of his death still hurt. She tried to smile but found herself crying instead. She turned away from Aaweth and tried to hide her tears from the woman...

"I do not know what I am saying dear cousin." She wiped her eyes again, "On my mother's side, her line can be traced all the way back to the Valar, to Nienna. I have a very strong tie to her, whenever something terrible happens, I find myself crying more than anyone else." She paused and quickly added, "I am a strong woman, but I show my emotions more so than most. I do not tell anyone about my lineage, that would bring up too many questions, like, What is an elf of such a lineage, and not to mention Lord Elrond's grand-daughter doing wandering about like a common ranger? Things like this dear cousin, I am not ashamed, as it may seem of my lineage, I just try not to disclose it too many people." She saw the puzzled sort of hurt look on Aregwyn's face, Arwyn felt bad, she felt she had hurt Aregwyn because in the many years she had been coming to Minas Tirith to see Aregwyn and her siblings she had never disclosed this. "You did not know this did you? I am sorry." Arwyn looked down from Aregwyn's face to the tissue she was fingering in her palm.

OOC: arwen_the_evenstar, please do not play my character unless I say it is all right, OK? Thanks.

BIC: Aaweth returned the smile just slightly. "Yes, my Queen I did - I probably got them into more trouble then you would have liked." she replied, "At least, dirtier then ye would have."

Aaweth sighed. "How are they doing as well? It has been long sence I have seen them and I am afraid I have no clue." she said to Arwen in a soft tone with a rasp to it.

Aaweth was thirsty and dried out, though she would refreash herself later. Aaweths' face went stony as she thought about the mother she never knew. She always did that when she was sad. The look was to hide how she felt inside; Aaweth hated to be voulnerable.

The young womanplaced a hand upon Arwens shoulders. "Not all tears are evil, Arwen. Do not hide them from me." she replied.

She paued for a while andjust stood there. "I know. I am sorry for your loss." she said, "That is why I have come - to pay my respects and to pick up my duties as Stewardess."

"Yes." she didn't really know what to say to the woman so she tried to smile. But tears were still forming in her eyes. "But first," she continued, "Do you have anywhere to stay? If not I can arrange a room at the palace for you and some food. You must be hungry?" Arwen looked at Aaweth and waited for her response, patiently....

Aaweth shook her head slightly. "No, m'lady - I fear I do not." she replied, "Well, I do, but it is about two days ride from here."

She bowed. "That would be very nice, m'lady." she said, "I am famished. I rode all the way here (that was two days ago). I did not stop either."

Aaweth blushed slightly. She was not one who liked to ask for anything. She ran a hand over her messily braided hair. SHe'd have to fix that in the morning, she supposed, and also she figured she should wear her dress. At that thought, she wrinckled up her nose - she hated dresses, however she had to dress like a 'proper' lady if she was to be in meeting with anyone. She would be frowned upon surely if she came in looking as she did at the moment.

(OOC: I hope you don't mind Kellidra but I have used Arwen for this post. I meant to post it last night but unexpectadly had to log off early and didn't get a chance. It would be a waste of the effort I put in so I will post it now. If you have an objections please PM me and I will delete this post. Oh and DFK6498 I am sorry I did not finish the conversation, that happened earlier in the day so I will finish it in another post........)

Arwen looked at the woman, stood before her. She was dressed in the garb of a ranger and had messy braided hair. But this didn't matter to Arwen, she was more interested in what the woman had to say. She opened her mouth to respond, "Well while you are here I shall organise a room in the palace for you if that is what you would like?! And I shall speak to the cooks and get them to prepare a meal for you, you must be famished after the two days of riding! The dining hall is just down the corridor and on the right. But before that let me get someone to show you your room and then you can refresh yourself before having some tea." Arwen looked at the woman when she said this and Aaweth seemed to be rather nervous and looked down at her feet. She tried to give her an encouraging smile and then she stopped a nearby maid and asked her if she could show Aaweth to a spare room in the palace. "Of course, my queen!"the servant girl bowed and left with Aaweth following her. Arwen sighed as she made her way to her room, she was glad that Aaweth and come and she remembered her from her childhood. It was true that she did seem to get Aregwyn and Eldarion into lots of trouble when she was around and get them rather messy aswell. A smile touched the corner of her lips as she thought of one such incident: Aregwyn, Eldarion and Aaweth had rode over to Ithilien to visit Eowyn and Faramir and while they were there had oh-so-nicely shot the birds down in the forest, claiming they were hunting for their supper! They had also wreaked (sp?) havoc around Eowyn and Faramir's home and injured (not majorly!) some of the servants there! Aragorn had shouted at them so much! Arwen thought then she froze, her hand resting on the doorknob.
Aragorn!
Oh how she wished to see him one more time!
How she wished to be safe in his warm, loving embrace!
How she wished for him to hold her tight and never let her go! She wished above all else that he could be there.
She longed so badly to kiss him one more time and hold him forever!
Tears again started to form in her eyes. And this time she didn't need to hold them back. She let them come. They dripped all over the cold marble floor and splashed, creating a puddle at her feet. She sobbed as she shut the door to her room and as the tears began to get thicker she flopped down onto the bed and just wept...

Aaweth raised her chin and straightened up, so that she looked more defined and proper. Even though, she did not like the feeling of being a proper woman, she had to be - she had been raised that way and she was also a person of some authority, so she had to seem like a lady.
"I will straighten myself up, m'lady. I must look atrocious." she said softly when she saw Arwen staring at her.

The Stewardess bowed a little. "Thank-you, M'Lady. That would be very nice." she said. Aaweth nodded slowly. "Even though it has been years sence I was here - I recall where everything is - at least the dining hall and library." she replied, glancing at her feet. She was nervious, which was not something liked to show.

Aaweth looked up at Arwen and returned the smile and waved slightly as she followed the maid. She bowed to the maid when she entered the room.

it was large and very richly decorated in reds and blues with a 4-poster bed and a fireplace (Which had been lit). She walked the length of the room and into the bathing room. She undressed and stepped into the warm water. She bathed for a short while and then got out and dried. She dressed herself in her blue silk dress that had midnight blue lining and trimmed in the same color, but has some silver threads running through it. The sleeves of the dress were straight, but at the wrist they are in the shape of a v, with the point ending in the middle of the top of her hand. The neckline is sqaure and assentuated her neck very well.

Aaweth went to the full length mirror that was in a corner and turned so she could see her back, With nimble fingers, Aaweth buttoned it all the way up. After she was done with that, she dug through her bag and got the belt and slippers that went with her gown. She put the blue leather belt on and then the fine slippers that went with it. She went back to the bathroom and retrieved her silver trinity knot pendant. She put it on as she went to the dresser. She sat down and brushed through her hair. When it was smooth, Aaweth started braiding it. It took about a half hour for her to do the hair and was glad when it was over. She checked herself in the mirror and was pleased that the twist rosestem came out well. She was also very happy to be done with all the dressing. She walked out of her room and down the hall.

After a while she stopped at a door, hoping it was Arwens door (she had wanted to see if she had wished to have tea with her, to calm her nerves). Aaweth knocked softly on the door and waited for reply.

OOC: I hope I did not bore ye all. Arwen_the_evenstar can it be Arwens daughter who is at the door?

By the way it is a real braid. Here is a link for braids (scroll down to the 4th set of pics and look at the last 3 braids)

OOC: Hi. I'm back. I'm sorry it took me so long to get back into this thread, but I have been at a loss for ideas and have been intensely involved in another thread. I won't be posting again today, possibly not till after Easter, but I wanted to get something on here today. Hi, Happy Dawg. Thanks for joining. So, I'll take back Arwen, Eldarion, Anneruon, Legolas, and Banamir now (though I won't address all of them here). But if any of you need to interact with them over the weekend, while I'm busy with Easter preparations/observation, please do so as long as you keep them in character.

Arwen could not bear being alone, so she made her way to the Houses of Healing and Anneruon. He smiled at her when she entered. The healers said he was improving daily and would be able to get up soon. He was an active boy, and staying in bed so much had been hard on him. She sat beside him. "So, grandson, what story should I share with you today?"
___________________

Banamir sat in the council room among his colleagues. Eldarion sat before them all, and Gilwen was seated to his left. He thought she looked nervous, but he was sure she would be a good queen. The preparations had been made. It had been three weeks now since Elessar's death. One week from today, the coronation of Eldarion would take place and Gondor would have a new king and queen.
____________________

Eldarion thanked his counsellors as they filed from the room. They had heaped praise on him, and he wished they would stop. They said these things only because they thought it was expected. Banamir was the last to leave. He clasped Eldarion's hand. "You seem nervous," he said. "Take heart, Prince Eldarion. You will be a good king. You can never be Elessar, but you are his son and he prepared you well for this day."

Banamir's words seemed sincere and they encouraged Eldarion as none of the other counsellors' words had done. "Thank you, Banamir. I... I appreciate it." He remembered Gilwen's words about Banamir and Aregwyn and wondered what they had meant. But for now he decided not to ask.

OOC: This is a joint post between arwen_the_evenstar and happy_dawg86. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aregwyn stared at the celing, as she had been doing for the past couple of hours. She had flopped down onto the bed and just laid there. Never before had she felt so alone. Now her father was gone, her mother was filled with grief, her brother was with his own little family now and Aregwyn felt like an outsider. The only person who really made her feel as though she was part of the family was Anneruon! She loved the little boy so and enjoyed sitting with him for hours on end. But now it was rather dark outside and Aregwyn figured it must have been quite late. Suddenly just as she felt like drifting off into sleep there was a knock on the door. She sighed and stood up, walking swiftly to the door. She pulled the door open. She didn't recognise the figure who stood there. But as she looked for a while at the face memories began to flood back of childhood adventures and more importantly the trouble this person had got her into! She stood open mouthed at who stood there, "Aaweth?" she asked and moved to embrace her friend, "It has been so long, so long! I almost didn't recognise you, you look rather different in a dress and with your hair braided like that!"

Aaweth bowed in a grand manner - instead of a proper curtsy. "Aye." she said. Aaweth furrowed her tanned brow. "Aregwyn?" she said with a laugh, "Tis been so long." She hugged her friend tightly and then backed away.

The Stewardess looked down at herself and sighed. "I don't really recognise myself." she admitted, "Tis my only dress and I am that happy wearing it - but I must." She pushed a strand of hair away from her eyes. "Would ye like to get some tea That was where I was headed actually." Aaweth replied.

"That would be very nice, thank you." Aregwyn smiled for possibly the first time that day and looked at her friend. She had changed so much on the outside but on the inside Aregwyn knew she was the same friend. "Could I just have a moment to refresh myself?" She asked her as she knew that her hair must have been messy and tangled and if she was having dinner she knew she should change into a different dress.

Aaweth nodded. "As ye wish." she said in a calm voice. Aaweth leaned against the wall in an unladylike way. She could be a lady - only to an extent. She sighed and bit at her lip.

Aregwyn smiled and asked Aaweth to come into her room. She walked over to the dressing table and tugged at her messy hair. She pulled out the grips and loosened her hair. It cascaded in a wave of chestnut brown, past her shoulders. She reached for a brush and quickly brushed her hair. When she was satisfied that her hair was smooth and silky she stood up and excused herself from the room so she could change.
Aregwyn entered the ajoining bathroom and dressed quickly in a gown of periwinkle blue silk that complementing her slim figure perfectly. She quickly fumbled around with the fastners at the back of the dress and then checked her reflection in a mirror before entering her bedroom again...

Aaweth sighed and went into the room. She perched herself on the edge of a chair as she waited. Aaweth bit on her nail a little bit. Aaweth looked at the clothes and wrickled her nose. It was so danty looking. "You look better in riding breaches." she replied smiling, "Shall we go to tea?"

"Yes." Aregwyn replied and motioned for Aaweth to leave first. She walked after her, out of the room, and shut the bedroom door carefully. "So," she asked, "How have you been? I haven't seen you for ever and ever!" She looked at her friend in excitement. She was so glad she had come, what she needed at the moment was a friend. 'And Banamir' her mind told her. Aregwyn sighed and waited for her friend to reply.

Aaweth nodded and left the room with some grace. She held her head high and her back straight. Her footfalls were evenly paced and defined. "I am well." Aaweth replied, "I have been living upon the road mostly - hunting, riding. I took to a rangers life. I must say, I enjoy that life then one confined to a castle. However, I felt it my duty as Stewardess and princess to remove myself fromt hat world and become the person I have always been destined to be." Aaweth wrinkled her nose up. "Even though, as you know that it is not me really. I was always the free spirit type -wild as untammed horse; giving everyone greif."
Aaweth smiled and turned her chin upward. "How are ye?" she asked

"I am fine actually. Well I suppose so..." Aregwyn paused unsure whether to carry on, "I mean my life is kind of ...well... lonely now. But now you have came it should be better. You see there is this man which I love with all my heart and in the past week he has been avoiding me completely! I don't know what's wrong?!I am sorry I am babbling on aren't I?"

Aaweth nodded her head. "A little I am afraid." she replied, pressing her lips together. She walked slowly towards the dining hall.
"I never was in love - never will be." she said, "Marrage is not in my cards." Aaweth smiled at her friend. She did not mind that she would never be married or in love. "I do not wish to marry." she replied. A thought struck her and she shook her head to clear it away.

Aregwyn sighed. She wondered whether her friend was upset or not. "Well Banamir, that's his name, has proposed to me but I fear that he regrets it now! Come enough of me, lets hear about you. What have you been doing since you became a Ranger? You must have many stories to tell!" Aregwyn muttered as she led Aaweth to the dining table and they both sat down together......
Aregwyn sat staring at the plate, unsure what to say. She was glad her friend was back but struggled to find a conversation topic! After not seeing her friend for many, many years she did not know how much she had changed since then. She sighed and looked at Aaweth who was eating an apple quietly
Aaweth sat there in silence for a long while. She was used to not speaking (at times she would go days without making a sounding). Aaweth looked at Aregwyn, there was an unsettling look in her eyes.
Aregwyn looked up from the floor and opened her mouth to speak, "Have you been to see my brother yet?"
Aaweth blinked a few times. She then shook her head. "No, I have not." she replied, biting her lip. Aaweth was afraid a little what would happen if they were to see each other. She feared that he had been promised to marry her in fact, though she said naught a word of it.
"Oh," Aregwyn mumbled then continued, "Well I suppose he is in Anneruon's room, though he might not be! Oh do you know who Anneruon is? He is Eldarion and Gilwen's child, and he has been injured recently so he is at the Houses of Healing."
Aaweth felt relief come over her - so he was married and they had a child. That was the best news she had heard. "Oh," she replied, "I hope he was not
badly hurt."
Aregwyn looked at her curiously, she looked relieved, "Yes, he is alright now but Eldarion and Gilwen are still very concerned for him. But Eldarion also has to worry about the coronation which will be held once the mourning period is passed." Aregwyn paused, she wasn't sure whether to tell Aaweth about the fact that her mother was leaving before that. She decided against it!
"Oh?" she replied cocking her head, "Eldarion will be a good king." Aaweth nodded slowly
"Yes." Aregwyn muttered and stared suddenly at the wine she was drinking. She took a big gulp of it. She wondered whether she should share her fears about that with Aaweth...
Aaweth looked at her friend. "Are ye all right?" she asked, cocking her head, "I sense something..."
Aregwyn looked carefully at her friend. She didn't want to blabber on or talk about her own problems. She sighed and tried an honest, "I am fine!" But it didn't fool Aaweth
Aaweth frowned. "You are lying." she said, "I sense it. My years of training as a ranger have heightened my senses."

Aregwyn finished her supper in silence but Aaweth pressed her on what was wrong. Finally she told her, “Mother is planning to leave before the coronation. There, happy?!!!!” But Aaweth looked confused, so she asked, “Why?” Aregwyn sighed and began to speak again, sadness in her voice, “Now father is gone, my mother has lost everything she gained. I don’t know whether you are aware but mother had the choice to sail to Valinor and live forever in peace with the rest of her elvish kin. However she loved father so much that she made the choice to stay in Middle Earth with him. But by doing so she sacrificed her immortality. She sacrificed a lot to be with my father and now he’s gone she too will fade. She told me once that her ada had said that the years of her life would be utterly spent and she would be bound by her grief. You see Aaweth she cannot now sail into the West for she long abandoned that option. I don’t know what exactly will happen to her but she is leaving the city because so much reminds her of ada.” She finished and looked at Aaweth who had been listening intently, “I understand your sorrow.” She placed a comforting hand on Aregwyn’s arm and asked, “So how is Eldarion?” Aregwyn looked up and smiled, “He is fine, in fact I believe he had a meeting today with his counsellors to discuss the coronation. I must remember to ask him how it went.” Aaweth nodded and opened her mouth to speak but she was interrupted when two figures walked into the room, laughing. They stopped as soon as they saw the other occupants of the dining room…

Aregwyn stood up and moved towards them. Eldarion smiled at Aaweth but Gilwen looked nervous. “Oh, Eldarion this is Aaweth, do you remember her?” Eldarion looked at the woman the looked back at Aregwyn, “The Aaweth. The thorn in my side? Aaweth? How could I forget her?!” Aaweth laughed and moved to hug him, “That’s me!” The two friends hugged and Eldarion broke apart, holding her at arms length, “Wow! You really have changed! I see your days as a Ranger are lost!” He gestured to the dress but Aregwyn said, “No, my brother. In fact Aaweth was just telling me about her adventures in the wild regarding some very disgruntled dwarves!” Eldarion chuckled and he sat down at the table. Gilwen followed his example but rather hesitantly. And Aaweth continued, “Yes. And Aregwyn was just telling me about a fine young man who propo….” Aaweth cut off the end of the sentence when she saw Aregwyn shoot a desperate glance in her direction and she saw Aregwyn mouth, ‘No’ and Aaweth (thank Eru!) understood immediately. “Who what?” Eldarion asked looking at them both suspiciously. “Oh…erm….nothing, Eldarion!” He looked at his sister strangely but was then distracted when Aregwyn cut in, “Oh! I am sorry Gilwen! I didn’t introduce you! This is Aaweth, a childhood friend but now she’s come back to Minas Tirith to pick up her duties as Stewardess.”...

Aaweth smiled broadly at Eldarion. "You brought yourself into all the trouble you got yourself into. I just...pushed you a little." she replied with a laugh, "So don't ye be callin; me your thorn."

Aaweth blushed and shifted nerviously as she straightened her dress. "Nay, my days of a Ranger are not lost, though I have changed." she said, her voice deep.

Aaweth chuckled and shook her head. "Never poke your head into a Dwarves mine. I could have gotten my head chopped off. The only way I got out of there with all me limbs was I made a bargin with them. I leave and not come within a days ride of there and they let me keep my head."
She winked.

Aaweth frowned a little. "Sorry." she mouchted to her friend and then smiled at Gilwen. "Hello," she replied.

A maid was cleaning about the room, over heard what she said. "Miss," she said to Aaweth
"Yes?"Aaweth asked
"Are ye married?"
"Nay, I am not."
"You must, if ye wish to keep your position."
"How do you know that?" Aaweth said sharply
"I read it. I like to read in my spare time. Me ma taught me..." the maid said - taken aback with how Aaweth responded.
"It does not matter what you do in your spare time or whom taught you. Thank-you and good day." Aaweth interupted
The maid bowed nerviously and dismissed herself.
Aaweth went very pale after the maid left. She stood. "I must - retire." she said, "I am tired and have many a long days ahead."

Hurridly she strode away and went into the library. She looked around the room and then noticed something sticking out of a book. She took the book out and the thing fell out. Aaweth picked it up and saw it was adressed to her. With wide eyes and questionings on how it got there, she opened it. "No..." she whispered, "No!"

The woman started to cry a little. She ran out of the room, with letter and to her room. She stopped and then turned. She made her way back down the hall and to Arwens rooms - she hoped. Aaweth knocked quietly, then decided to go to her room instead.

She hurried down the hall and back to her room. she flung the door open and laid down on her bed, crying a little. This was her worst nightmare.

OOC: Sorry it's not very long. I am tired and only just have time to post this before I go to bed...

Aregwyn looked up as Aaweth quickly rushed out, excusing herself. She turned to Eldarion, "What was wrong with Aaweth?" Eldarion looked at her and shrugged, "Leave her." Aregwyn nodded and concluded that her friend just wanted some time to herself. She turned back to Eldarion, "How did the meeting with the counsellors go today? May I also be present at the meeting tomorrow?" she asked him hopefully. She wanted to support her brother in his new rule plus she knew that Banamir would be there and that she might get a chance to speak with him privately. She smiled and asked her brother again, "May I be present?" He opened his mouth to speak and Aregwyn waited for his response.....

OOC: sorry arwen_the_evenstar, I have to move on!

Aregwyn said nothing, she only pondered what Arwyn had just told her. She rose silently and left Arwyn sitting silently in the garden once more.

Arwyn wept, bitter tears, Aragorn was gone, and now Aregwyn was mad at her, she wondered if maybe she was just better going back out to her travels. She could tell that Arwen wanted to stay to make sure that Anneruon recovered. Arwyn had the feeling that her Aunt would never leave Minas Tirith. She was not of much help to her family, and they probably wouldn't notice if she slipped away.

She made up her mind, she would go back out to the wild, but not for a long time, but just enough time to find her head. She would leave Toss behind, allow him to fly over the city, so that whenever her family needed her, they could send Toss to her. Arwyn looked up to the sky, as the wind blew once more. She felt something light land on her lap, she looked down, it was a perfect lightly pink flower, delicate, but perfectly preserved as if it had appeared right in her lap. She picked up the flower and placed it on her palm, and blew it into the wind. She rose, and walked to gather her belongings. She hoped she would not run into anyone on her way out.

OOC: I'll post a little to bump the thread, where are you guys??

Arwyn quietly and discreetly walked to her chambers to gather her belongings, she took parchment a quill and ink out of her bag and scribbled a note onto the parchment:

To My Family and Friends,
I have decided to return to the wild, I am sorry to do this on such short notice, but I feel that my services are not needed here, you will do quite fine without me. I will return after a while to check on how everything is going, I will leave Toss behind, if ever you need me, send him to me. He will find me and deliver a note.

Your Dearest,
Arwyn

She folded the note, and slung her bag over her shoulder and headed out. She whistled for Toss when she was out on the citadel, he came and she tied the note to his leg, "Toss, circle the city until you see someone in my family. Then stay, don't come looking for me." She smoothed his feathers as he nipped at her hand, he didn't like the fact that she was leaving him here, "I'll be back Toss," She paused, "I'll be back." She said as if she had to convince herself. Toss flew out into the sky, Arwyn looked around to make sure no one was there, she walked swiftly to the stables, the sun was falling deep into the west, she had to be getting out of the city soon, she found Telen and walked him to the gate, the guard at the gate looked at her suspiciously but did not dare to ask questions. Arwyn mounted Telen and was off, through the ever darkening evening. It felt wonderful to be back on Telen's back, she decided to follow the sun, wherever that would take her.

As she rode away, she wondered how long it would take for someone to notice she was away.

OOC: I will continue this, until you mates post!!! lolz! Sorry I haven't posted for Elladan, Elrohir, and Celeborn!

Elladan Elrohir and Celeborn retired early, they had not seen Arwyn return after she had left Anneruon's room. They had not seen where she was going either. They decided to go to bed, thinking that Arwyn would come to bed eventually.

The next morning, Elladan awoke early and was going to check on Arwyn, he had a strange dream that night, that she had left. He went to her chambers, knocked lightly...no answer. A maid was scurrying by, and she watched as Elladan knocked on Arwyn's door again...no answer. The maid stopped, "Uh, excuse me, my lord." The maid bowed her head as Elladan turned to face her.
"Yes." He answered curtly, a little bit more so than he had intended.
She looked flustered but she said, "There is no one staying in that room, or should I say, Lady Arwyn did not return last night."
Elladan sighed. "Thank you, you are dismissed." He said wearily.
The maid curtsied and left. Elladan sighed again, angrily this time, Where have you gone off to now, Arwyn?

Elladan decided not to wake Elrohir and Celeborn, he went out to get some fresh air, no telling how far away or how close Arwyn was. He turned his face up to the sun and basked in it's glory. The rays felt good on his weary face. He suddenly saw Toss swooping in, carrying a note, tied to his leg.

"Mae govannen Toss, what do you have there?" Elladan said as he untied the note. Toss took off and continued to circle the city, then swooped down to Pelennor Fields undoubtably to catch some field mice.

Elladan read the note. Arwyn, how foolish are you? then he proceeded to go and wake his brother and grand-father.

The first night back in the wild, though cold was a wonderful night for Arwyn. The cold ground felt better than any bed in Minas Tirith could ever feel. She wondered if anyone had noticed she had left. She expected a note from her father when he discovered it.

Arwyn decided to head for Barinn, a small city about a two days ride from Minas Tirith to the West. There was a small pub there that Arwyn liked to go to, mostly because of Taranla, a shady character who lived in the back room. She had gotten to know him from the many times she had been to the pub. She had come to find out that Taranla was an elf, born and raised in Rivendell. He had never disclosed why he stayed in Middle Earth, and Arwyn did not find it important to ask.

The next afternoon, after her "escape" she made it to Barinn. She had put her travelling cloak on which had a hood, and it made her look like a common ranger, not a grand-daugher of the Lord of Rivendell, and certainly not an elf. Though it was hard to hide her elven beauty. She walked into the pub, attention turned to the door, but only for a moment. it wasn't unusual for a hood-clad stranger to wander into that pub.

Arwyn removed her hood, Camrl the bar-tender looked up and caught sight of Arwyn.
"Arwyn!" He exclaimed. "Come here you and have a drink!"
Arwyn smiled, she now realized why she liked the "wild" better than home.
Camrl poured her a drink, "No doubt you are here to be with Queen Arwen since King Ellessar's passing." He bowed his head and remembered his fallen King. "But why are you here?"
Arwyn took a sip from the drink, "You know me, I can't be around a place where my family is for too long, I feel out of place."
Camrl smiled, "Aye, you and Taranla, one in the same, I swear!"
Just as he said that Taranla walked into the pub.
