I gotta say that I'm not too comfortable with some of what's going on with Gandalf. If he was warned long ago about Saruman why would he have mentioned the Ring being in the hands of the halflings to a traitor? The wizard is no fool or forgetful old man!

And I think we've covered it in past, but for the newer writers, you should only speak for another's character if you 2 have worked it out in advance.

I'm letting a few more gifts pile up before writing thank you notes! Hathien, my pretty horses didn't show in the post! Try again, please! So far a nice mix of original gifts! I knew you guys could be creative! Thank you here & later, in the thread!

Hey everyone, I am REALLY sorry about my long absence. I am doing my best to get online, but I haven't been able to get on more than once or twice a week. And even then I don't get much time. And to make matters worse, next month the "schoolwork orcs" are gonna have me too. The good news is I'll be taking a writing course. So hopefully that will help with my posts. *hugs*

Oh and also, can you guiys please pray for several of my friends. They are down in Guatamala for a mission trip. And my older sister and my niece along with some of my other friends are leaving at 3:00 a.m. for New Mexico for a mission trip to do VBS for the Navajo children. Thanks guys!

Hmm, Mith, I don't know why they won't show for you. No worries, Háth's here. :naughty: I'll post the links and see if that works. And, if it doesn't, then we'll kill the computers! Or, perhaps not.

Also, I agree with you, Mith. Saruman hardly associated with fellow members of the White Council, let alone any common folk. They (being the White Council) wouldn't have known of his traitorous tendencies, until after, of course, Gandalf was imrpisoned in Orthanc.

Anyway, here are the links for Legolas' gift -

Mith & Hath, in my own defense, I PMed Aramir about that issue. I am in agreement - for Gandalf to have had even a HINT of a clue of a suspicion would have staid his tongue when he visited Orthanc. No prophet should mess with that.
And Hath, the links don't help either. I got to the 4thorses but not the blacks you have in mind. Can you copy the pics into a private journal & paste them here, maybe? That's what I do.

--- Thorongil (Estel/Aragorn) ~New!~
Ah, CoA, my identity was not hidden from you! I wondered if anyone might think this was Isildur's heir in fact. He may be addressed as "Estel" by any of the elves who knew him as such(like the lords and ladies of Imladris around whom he grew to be a man). Thank you for asking, Goldberry!

Caradien, I believe we met when I served Thengel King in Rohan, what was it; about 30 or 40 yrs ago? I was called Thorongil then, of course. I look forward to chatting with you in the thread.

Alrightie, let's try this again, shall we? *mumbles about the internet and its complications* I've uploaded the picture to a different site, so hopefully it'll work this time. If not, I'll go to my last resort and use a journal. And, I am sorry, everyone, that it hadn't worked. And, if it doesn't work.

[LEGOLAS] I have enjoyed the lovely, thoughtful presents so far. I KNEW you guys could come up with some original ideas! I'm heading over to post my thanks as soon as I'm done here. The pics of the gifts here are a great help.
MOM- what are you and Dad giving me for my special birthday? What? "Isn't this party enough?" Wellll.... okay. But you're making me find my OWN bride -- not that I'm complaining about the process. Still not sure who the lady will be... perhaps the one who proves to be the best dance partner will also be my life's partner? We shall see!

Image
{GELIR} I'm getting tired of being ignored. Just because it's the baby's birthday doesn't mean I'm no longer the dashing, witty, handsome MORE MATURE prince of Mirkwood! And did I mention modest? Come ON, ladies. This may be your last chance to find happiness as a member of the royal family of Mirkwood! Just read my profile.http://councilofelrond.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=RPG&file=index&action=viewcharacter&pn_uid=25885 I'm not an orc, y'know! (Who said blonds have more fun? Humph!)

Well, I guess I'll just have to add a lady for your prince as Simbelmyne already has two guys looking at her, Cara has three, Alasse has found her match, and Earane has one guy interested in her, and would prefer someone like Mithelril....

elven_princess_of_lorien, you need not go to such trouble for me (as Gelir, I assume).
Just for the record, who IS my competition with the ladies you named?

"Earane ...would prefer someone like Mithelril...."
???? WHAT???? ME?!?!? My lady, you know me not, leastwise in Mirkwood!
Shall we talk????

umkay...
Simbelmyne: Gwanunig and your Legolas, Cara: Tueth and Aruad and Thorongil, Alasse [as I said before has found her match]: Nestor, and Earane: Gwanunig.

your character, not you! pardon, my lord?
Why not? I find talking fasinating.

Cara: Tueth and Aruad and Thorongil
What??? I hate to dump a bucket on that, but he is sorta engaged, y'know. Friends, no prob. Heh heh.

Okay, king of confusion here again! I thought the whole evening was in one place but I have no sense of picturing this place, I guess! Shouldn't the QUEEN be escorted to the dance area by the KING??? I don't think I'd have presumed that honor without OK from the King/author. City has this planned out. Sorry, Ireth, but I'd rethink & edit that. That's just my humble opinion.

I feel bad that Thorongil has nothing to give the prince other than advice & friendship. Though that may come in handy some day!

Meanwhile, there is a ranger who is willing to dance and a wizard who might try a spin or two if asked!

Dear Confused ....

Ok just gotta say I think its sweet that Tueth escorted his mother to the dance , but Im inclined to agree with Gondren... I think that Thranduil would escort his Queen - and the same with the dance - I also thought it was in the same area ~ but like Gondren - thats just my opinion

Gondren Galvinuiel loves to dance and would gladly go for a "spin" with either - just have one of the boys ask her

Ah well, I have nothing against Tueth bringing the Queen to the dance area. I know that's Ireth's way of showing how close they are. Then again, I'm no expert on royal-social graces. Ireth, I'll just leave it up to you if you want to edit that bit as Gond suggested.

I also thought that the dancing would be held on a floor in the center of the garden (surrounded by the tables), but I think I like Ireth's vision better--about having it in another adjoining area of the garden--so we'll stick to that, if that's okay.

I'll chalk up a post by this time tomorrow, so we can start the dancing. :disco: Fun!!! Mith and Ireth, I hope you've picked partners, especially for Legolas. He gets the first dance, after all! :naughty:

MOM! Amme! Nana! Busy schoolgirl! So good to see you here.
Of course Legolas has long since settled on his partner for the first dance. He will reveal that at the proper time. I hope she does not refuse the princely birthday boy...

Gelir, on the other hand, has not been as lucky at love and may have to go begging... Eliora, dear cousin, are you willing to begin the Ball with one who may publicly embarrass you? HMM? Unless you have promised yourself to some dashing elflord, in which case I understand...

elven_princess_of_lorien, thank you for the update... *Gelir looks for HIS name anywhere on that list...* Hmmmm... I gotta learn more about this mysterious new Earane...
Aramir Rivenmist (Aramir) PM
Gender: female
Race: Gondorian Elf
Height: 5' 11''
Age: at least 10,000+, she's not sure
Place of Residence: White Tower in Gondor
Family: adoptive brothers- Borormir and Faramir
Powers: makes prophecies of evil and death that comes true
Weapons: A sword, bow, and her wits; she also hides a knife in her boots
Animals: a horse-Namarie from Rohan

Appearance: Tall and sometimes graceful. Grey-blue eyes that are usually filled with sadness or a fire and long brown hair braided and tied back...
Uhm, I think THAT is what Edwenion was complimenting you on. Why don't you try being NICE to others and make a few friends here???

Gondren - have the girls draw you a map - y'know, the big piece of paper to help you get from here to there. It's okay to ask for directions! lol.

Gelir, the only one who Eliora is dancing with at the moment is You although she thinks Valendil is debating on asking her, so if he needs someone for his first dance, I'm more than happy. And, I don't think that Gelir could embarrass me. Maybe the cheeks and ears may glow, but not fully embarrass.

My aunt, the queen, has made it here from school! Yayay!!!

Hi everyone!

Just an important reminder about the DANCING part of our ball. The Royal Family gets to dance first before anyone else among the guests can. Please, let us try to observe this act of courtesy when posting. The order will be as follows:

1) Legolas (Mithelril) and partner
2) King and Queen (CityofAngel), Mirion and Itarille (CityofAngel/Tazz), Tueth (Ireth_elfmaiden) and partner, Arvellas (CityofAngel) and partner, Gelir (Mithelril) and partner
3) ALL THE REST

If you have any questions, please just ask. As of now, you may move your characters into the dancing area, but please wait for the players of the members of the Royal Family to post their pieces first before having your characters dance. You're supposed to be just watching anbd reacting as the princes do their first dances. From then on, it's free for all!

VANE: Ereste's song will be the song for Legolas and his partner. (first dance of the night)

MITH: I can't wait to see who the lucky lady is!

I concur with City, oh and Mith, you can ask Simbelmyne how she knows, and then he can notice Eáránë and be introduced since you're so interested

musicalgal: of course Valendil will ask Eliora for a dance all he needs to do is find her when they can dance.

Sorry I've been gone for a bit.

My apologies to any who I angered with my actions of Tueth escorting the Queen, but he does love his mother, plus I was kinda unsure what to do with him, who to have him chat with and walk with, ect.

Also, I am glad City that you liked my idea, and please allow me to explain why I went and made it in another room. Simply the thought that it would take too long to move all the tables and the chairs. I thought it would be strange for all the guests to be just standing around while the servents moved around them to rearrange the tables to make room. To anyone offended by my presumptions, I am sorry, I know it is City's call and I was more then prepared to edit it if she voiced her disproval.

I also wanted to say, I am in the process of moving right now, and my home phone has yet to be activated. Meaning that my internet is not yet working (I am at the library right now posting this, and time is greatly limited). Seeing as I am not sure for the next few days when I will be around, I thought I would post here who Tueth would be dancing his first dance with so that she can carry out that part in should that point arrive. And I believe that Fredia will be the one that Tueth asks for the first dance. Cara will have the next one, and then Ereste, and then Eloria (though I should be back before that many dances passes)

As for the other two guys, Finde wants to dance mainly with Nya, but if any other elf maid who is his friend wishes to dance with him, don't be shy (maybe Cara, change of pace from their sparring on the training grounds)

And Aerandir will dance his first one with Ereste, after she is done singing the first for Legolas and the other royals have their song. The only other one on his dance list right now is maybe Fredia who has become his friend, but remember Aerandir ends up with Ereste in the end, and that change part will come soon, when she dances with Tueth (I believe).

To all who need this info, I hope it is helpful to cover the few days I will most likely not be able to check up. I pray to the Valar that this phone issue will resolve itself in a rapid period. Thanks all.

Awwwww Ireth_elfmaiden I just wanted to say I was neither angered nor offended by your post. Im sorry if I upset you that was not my intention
It was just my thought that the King would his escort his queen is all and I just thought that there was a place set aside for the dancing in the same area, not that the servants would have to move tables Im cool with everything

What do you mean Aramir?

The last I read, Arvellas was looking at you while his father spoke with Mithrandir. Now, I would imagine he is in the company of his family as the dancing has now commenced. I think he has yet to choose a dance partner.

If you mean what lady is he with, has he found himself a potential wife yet.....I dont think he has attached himself to any one particular lady at the moment. He is still looking, as are his brothers, but I dare say he has a couple in his sights

The new Mith is making an impact here! I gotta say, I like the view! Thank you, Mith for following thru on that one! NICE pic!!!!

Are we waiting for City to post for the other 2 princes before we can dance or should we just jump in after the ones already dancing? Some of my folks are anxious to get on the floor!

I gotta ask: Aramir, what did I do to deserve the dirty looks? And the guys who have tried to warm up to you - did they deserve to be brushed off as you did? Maybe if you gave us a hint about what your character is up you'd work better with others. And being rude to others by making faces or ignoring them is no way to get into the good grace of a prince you like, I'd think.

Woah, wait one sec. It's just the tide with competetions with her. One, she's a ranger. Two, she's a little hotheaded one who isn't interested in anyone but the one she wants. Three, she really wants her book back. Four, she's a little hotheaded Captain that is used to rough brawls and brooding over the libraries. Any competetion is one she would want to win, involving rivals, snooty elves (in her opinion. No offence meant! Her language equals any type of elf that likes fancy.), and a missing book. Got that? So I have said it all in this post. No offence meant to anyone and I apoligize if I had offended you. And sadly, he was looking at Novfenien, not the little hotheaded scribe.
