Gwenneth smiled. It had been a long time since one was so nervous around her. When he touched her neck, and then her face, she knew what it was that he wanted, what it was that he would ask.
He nipped her lip, and then moved in for a deeper kiss, pressing his body against hers, and she could feel his heart pounded in his chest. Oh she wanted him, to feel him moving against her, if only because she felt so betrayed by Glyndr.
He stood back , breathing deeply, "My Lady Gwenneth, the dance you promised can wait a while longer, shall you dance with me here?"

She covered his mouth with hers, kissing him deeply, her hands running over his shoulders and down his arms. She broke off the kiss, and said softly, "Not at this moment, but I will give you what you seek when such an absence will not be noticed. We must not allow whispers to flourish, or your Captain may discover our desires,my dear Kellyn."
***
The two of them reentered the Hall, and he respectfully escorted her to her seat, and pulled out her chair.
"Thank you , Kellyn, for escorting her," Glyndr said.
"Yes , thank you , Kellyn, " she murmured, and she looked at him with eyes full of promise.

The Elf captain sat alone watching the festivities, he had no interest in them if Gwenneth was not with him, Their last encounter had focused his mind on how much he loved her, how much she meant to him.
Mrelyn had gone to join Felyon at the Kellquenti guard's table, Kellyn having left with Gwenneth.
The Elf captain leant back in his chair, he sipped at the cool white wine,in his goblet, His gaze watching the festivities, the couples eager for the dancing to begin, The lone females , gigling, hunting their prey.
One in particular caught his eye, a young wife of a visiting Elf Lord, not so unlike his father in power.
He knew her from the many dinners held at his step-father's mansion, The mansion that should have been his..that was now in the past, she was now in the present. He had wanted her then.He was surprised to see her here.
She glanced up and caught his ice blue look of magic, He smiled his perfect half smile,
Time went on, Gwenneth had not returned, Glyndr thought her to be tired and to have decided not to return to the festivities, It surprised him,but he accepted the fact, she was pregnant with his precious children, she could do as she wished.
Glyndr stood, he caught the Elleth's eye, he left.she followed, Oh so discreetly she was a wife of a Lord she knew the ways.
They met in the dark courtyard, It happened in a frantic , wild, passion, against a cold stone wall, well away from prying eyes as discreet as always.
Both returned to the hall ,both knew that tomorrow she would be gone, back to her husband and lands, and he,back to his duty.
Glyndr took his place at the table, he finished the wine in his goblet, and poured another.
Gwenneth had still not returned, he waited for her,an all too terrible fear hit him, Gwenneth was right the flame of passion was too strong in him.
He had made the pact... one for one..
Gods... he wished he could kill that passion.
Gwenneth meant more than any other to him, WHY did he not control that fire in him...??

Gwenneth noticed that Glyndr was being unusally quiet and that his eyes kept straying to a female across the way. Mrelyn leaned over as the first strains of music began to play and said, "Come with me, Angel" and he whisked her out of the way while tables were being moved. He leaned over and whispered, "The woman he has been looking at, he took her out to the courtyard a while ago, while you were retrieving your wrap. I know my cousin, angel, and I know what he has done."
"Then the new game is afoot. So much for his love for me." She turned shining eyes to Mrelyn and said softly, "There is one I will be with to get even with him, but it is you who will spend the night in my bed."
Mrelyn smiled, and his heart lept in his chest. "Whatever you ask , my angel." She ran her fingers down his arm, and kissed him lightly on the cheek. "You know, you may yet win my heart, if your cousin keeps this up."

Glyndr sat in subdued silence, he still watched the Elf Lord's wife intently, in an ice blue stare. "Eltara ,yes, that was her name", he had only just remembered it.He sighed , what was it that drove him to chase these females? when he wanted no other than Gwenneth.to be with for eternity?
His thoughts broken when the music started and tables were bieng moved.
Mrelyn had taken Gwenneth to one side , and seemed to be whispering to her, he took no notice, his cousin was always whispering to her, a private joke he thought.
The Kellquenti captain noticed one of the Gondorian captains across the room, he had been meaning to speak with captain Marston for some time.
Glyndr winced ,and rubbed his back, as he made his way across the room, his recent encounter had aggravated already painful muscles. It was his own fault, a painful reminder....
"Captain Marston", Glyndr nodded a bow,as he faced the Gondorian, "This is probably not the time or place, but I think we must discuss our defences, war could strike at any time".
The Gondorian captain beamed, "Ah , captain Glyndr," he returned the bow, "I have been seeking you also, to speak of the very same, My , but you are the elusive one , I can never seem to catch you!".
The two captains moved away from the already forming dancers, to speak of military matters.

Mrelyn had been watching Edith all evening, who she spoke to, who she danced with. his annoyance growing as the evening wore on, "Two can play at that game," he growled under his breath, as Edith joined two of her women friends after almost throwing herself at yet another young man.
The Elf slipped swiftly to where they stood ,and ignoring Edith he turned his back on her to deliberately take the hand of one of her friends.
Mrelyn flirted outrageously with the woman, always deliberately close enough for Edith to see and hear.
Would the hard hearted woman be jealous as he hoped?
If not, at least he was enjoying trying..
Kellyn stood with Felyon and Gwenneth, the Sylentor was very quiet he felt just a little tipsy and sick, soon, he excused himself and went to his room to lie down before he fell down.
Kellyn sipped at his wine, his stomach in a knot, he could not stop thinking of that stolen moment at Gwenneth's room,
He glanced at her as she spoke with two of her friends, he gulped down the rest of his wine , trying to decide whether to get another to steady his nerves
His gods had smiled on him once.
Were they still smiling..??

"Kellyn," Gwenneth said softly, turning to him, "Do you still desire that dance with me?" She licked her lips and stared at him, the emerald fire in her eyes warming him all over.
"Oh yes, my Lady, I would like to dance with you." He took her hand and led her to the floor. They remained a respectable distance from each other, and talked softly to one another. Then she drew her fingertips across the back of his neck for a moment and asked him in a voice barely above a whisper," Do you also still desire that dance in my chambers?"
He almost stopped dancing, but caught himself, and said, "Yes, my Lady. I ..I would enjoy that very much, and I would hope you would too."
"Oh, I will. As will you. I can promise you that, my dear Kellyn." she whispered to him. "I can promise you that."
**************
The evening wore on, and Gwenneth used her condition as an excuse to leave early, stopping long enough to inform Glyndr, who was just reentering the Hall after a long meeting with the Gondorian captain, that he would not be welcome in her chamber that night. She pulled him to a corner and hissed,"I do not jest about this, Glyndr, nor do I care how you feel about it. You are not to enter my chamber until I send for you in the morning. I love you, but to take a lover less than 2 hours after we talked is inexcusable. If you fear being lonely, ask your whore of an Elflord's wife to warm your bed, as tonight you most certainly will not be warming mine." She kissed him, and then said,"I know she did not satisfy you the way I do, and that you cannot be rough with her the way you like, but I guess you will have to suffer. I, however, have already selected the one who will take your place in my arms tonight, and I will be infinitely pleasured by him. Then Mrelyn will come in and watch over me until morning, to ensure that you do not come in." Her eyes sparkled wickedly, knowing that he knew what she meant by that. "Oh, and Glyndr, just so you remember, no retribution of any kind. Especially since he is, after all, one of your own Kellquenti guardsmen."
She slipped out of the corner and headed for her room. She heard him swear under his breath, and heard his footsteps as he came after her.

The chatter ceased to a simering murmur as Eldarion rose, leading his Queen down the marbled, ivy rigged steps and into the spherical stage of the dancefloor, where their every move - every smile passed from mouth to mouth in a flurry in delighted whispers. Eldarions hand rested neatly on the gentle curve of her hip and yet Ceinwyn felt the scolding heat of its pressure through the very shreds of linen, tempting, burning in an ardent ebb of desire chorousing through thier bodies; vying for the time when privacy meant they were not the refined King and Queen. But a newly wed man and wife. The sturdy beat of the music sent pulses of warmth to shiver in the depths of Ceinwyn's soft blue eyes, mirrored by the earnest longing in Eldarions. Yet behind it, lay an honest thirst for her intellect, her wit, her smile; her soul. As if his happines lay in the mere presence of she who stepped so gracefully with the motions of the dance, would heal every rift ever purdged." Your gawping" Ceinwyn teased, lowering her voice an octive as the dance brought them closer. " Indeed - are you not then?" he retorted wolfishly, inhaling the scent of lavender from her hair as it brushed over his skin. " Oh aye. But I mask it so much better then you my husband" she winked with a grin, stepping back with a bow as his bright, dancing eyes sparkled, gentle as ever. Other couples had started to merge subtly in the backdrop, Edith herself pairing with Gaheris, handsome in the Soarin tradtion of rugged charm; a perfect match for the wild, untamed beauty of the Queen's cousin. For a moment all images of Mrelyn - of Gwenneth and Victor, dissolved in the intense ambiance of his dark gaze and yet, catching the familiar brand of vibrant copper in the corner of her eye, she sighed, averting her own eyes from its sorid sight. Curse him till he is dammed! Foolish excuse for an elf...Gaheris's grip tightened slightly as he noted the brief drop of her chin, yet raising it in a gesture of blatant defiance, she grinned boldly at the warrior pulled so close; aware as ever of Mrelyn's eyes scolding into her flesh." We make quite a couple you and I. You and me Gaheris" she noted sultry, yet the sharpness as she snapped her eyes back to Mrelyn, was brittle.

The captain listened , ice blue eyes narrowing as Gwenneth and he spoke in the corner, "Who was it!!!" he gripped her arm, her words a cold shock. How could she have known? They had been, as always, very discreet."Who told you?" he hissed in return.
Gwenneth pulled away from him sharply and made for her room.
He swore viciously under his breath, and strode after her.
Waiting until they were almost at her room before he grasped her arm again, turning her sharply to face him, "Who is it?" he demanded, his voice a low snarl,"which one of my Guard? which damned , cursed rat, has betrayed me? tell me Elleth now!"
He took a deep breath, his grip lessened slightly, his anger only just less,
Glyndr regarded her with ice fire barely cooling, "May I remind you," he said slowly and deliberately, "That it was you who made these new rules of the game, I have played by them,if you now are not happy with them, then that is your problem. Oh, and have no fear", he smiled his too familiar, half smile, "He is quite safe, shall take no retribution on the little traitor, I agreed,"
He shook his long hair back out of his eyes, he had calmed a little, "Gwenneth, I do love you, I am sorry I shouted", He released her arm as she went to open her door,"Tell me who it is and I shall leave until you send for me , if that is what you wish, you knew of her, it is only fair that I know of him".

****************
Mrelyn's plan did not work , Edith merely walked off and went to speak with some Soarian dignitaries.
The hunter was not amused.
He haunted her steps all evening, leaving her alone until she dared to dance with that mere horse guard, or whatever title he gave himself.
Mrelyn caught her stare as she turned ,it seemed to mock him in it's sharpness, a challenge.
He took it.
Mrelyn appeared at their side.
"I believe that I told you once before, the Lady and I had a private matter to discuss", Mrelyn's amber eyes met Gaheris's, in a perfect Glyndr ice dagger glare.
"well we still do", he snapped his ice stare to Edith, then back to Gaheris, "I suggest you find another partner....soldier", Mrelyn said with a smirk. "And Edith, we will come to an agreement. MY agreement, let us go discuss it"..

"Does it matter how I know? You started this, my love. I am merely taking advantage of the rules."
She started away again, only to have him follow and grab her arm again.
Oh, and have no fear", he smiled his too familiar, half smile, "He is quite safe, shall take no retribution on the little traitor, I agreed,"

,"Tell me who it is and I shall leave until you send for me , if that is what you wish, you knew of her, it is only fair that I know of him".

She turned to him and regarded him with an icy stare.
"Call him a traitor one more time, and I will not only bed with him, but with Prince Elboron as well." She held up her hand and stopped him before he could speak. "Technically speaking, although King Eldarion calls him 'Brethren" he is not. Our King is the son of Elessar and Arwen, and Elboron the son of Prince Faramir and Eowyn. There is no blood relationship there. Hence, if I chose to take Elboron into my bed, which I have no doubt he would accept an invitation to, there would be nothing you could do about that either. The member of your guard I have chosen is one who is an exceptional soldier, or he would not have reached the position he has, and you would not trust him as much as you do. By the way, how's your wrist?"
She opened her door and slammed it in his face, locking it behind her.
She heard a voice behind her, saying,"My Lady? Are you alright?"
She turned and slid into Kellyn's waiting arms. "Oh yes, I am right now, better than I have been in quite a while." She kissed him deeply, and he responded in kind, moving her toward the bed with a swiftness she would not have thought possible earlier when he was feeling so shy.
***************
They lay entwined with each other, soaked with sweat and utterly exhausted. Kellyn may have been shy when speaking, but it hardly took any kind of boost of energy from Gwenneth to spark him to life. He had done things with her that neither one of them had ever tried to do before.
She sat up and reached for the goblet of water next to the bed, leaning across him as she did so. He reached up and touched her face and when she looked down, he kissed her softly. She laid her head on his chest and sighed. "Kellyn, I so wish you could stay here with me all night."
"I know, my lady. I know." He kissed her head and then sat up and began to dress. "I will go out and over the balcony, so Captain Glyndr does not see me." He finished dressing quickly, and leaned to kiss her again. "And yes, I will remember, discretion."
She smiled as he disappeared out of sight over the edge of the balcony, and she watched him disappear into the barracks with no problem.
She turned and went to the door and unlocked it, sending a mental message to Mrelyn that when he was done with whatever he was doing, he was free to come in.

Glyndr's mind was reeling she had threatened now to take Elboron to her bed, and spoke in riddles of the soldier that had taken HIS place in her bed tonight. The door slammed. bringing the conversation and his rights as her lover tonight to an end.
Glyndr turned, he ran his hands through his beautiful , long hair,"wrist? , he thought deeply, what did she mean?
The Kellquenti captain stopped , he staggered back against the wall. He looked at the barely healed scar on his wrist.
"Oh gods ,Kellyn..", The captain shook as he put his hands to his head. "No it cannot be".. he desperately tried to convince himself that his most trusted, most loyal Kellyn was not the one who now lay in the arms of his Flower, he would not believe it, Kellyn? the young virgin? yet his intuition told him otherwise.
Glyndr ran to his room, he kicked the door closed behind him, He would have gone to Felyon, his wonderful Sylentor soulmate, but he knew Felyon was now flat on his back on his bed, in a deep alchohol induced sleep. He would leave his friend to rest.
Glyndr lay on his back in a darkened room, the firespirits sending a red glow to play on the walls, the candlespirits burnt low.
He swore as he slid from the bed. his back and shoulder agony. He would get no rest yet. His mind tortured with the thoughts of his second in command and his betrothed. The pact.. he had sold his soul to it.he could not do a thing.
Glyndr left his room to slide , unseen to the Green Dragon,
He needed company, not drink, he found plenty as he settled in his usual place at the fireside.
Dawn would find him back in his room, awaiting Gwenneth's call.
***************
Mrelyn had finished his' conversation' with Gaheris and Edith..(.OOC awaiting and looking forward to Etaina's reply to this situation...)
He made his way to Gwenneth's room, he had heard her call. He knocked softly, and was admitted to a world he was so familiar with now, one he could never give up.

*************
Kellyn returned to the barracks, his fellow soldiers were celebrating the King and Queen's marriage in a rowdy party in the watchroom.
He stayed for a while ,joining their fun, then left for his bunk.
The soldier did not sleep , his thoughts on an Elleth that had woken new feelings and a passion in him he did not know he had. He smiled as he finally settled to sleep, mumbling words of that passion , he smiled as he fell to sleep.
He grinned as a fellow soldier threw an apple at him, telling him to", For Valar's sake be quiet, and stop mumbling of Elleth's and his desires, or no one would get any sleep!!"
The apple bounced off Kellyn's bed, he mumbled an apology the settled with a smile, to dream of a beautiful Elleth that had stolen his soul.

Gwenneth awoke just as the sun was rising. She rolled out from under Mrelyn's leg, which he had thrown across her apparently in his sleep. She stretched and poked him to wake him up. "Go and get Glyndr. I need to speak with him."
Mrelyn reached up and pulled her back down beside him. "Not yet. I am not done with you yet."
He pulled her head down to his mouth, and began to whisper he words to a spell in her ear, his words and fingers weaving magic on her soul. As always, like he knew she would, she collapsed into his arms.

***
An hour and a half later, a very smug Mrelyn went and knocked on Glyndr's door. When his cousin opened it, Mrelyn stepped into the room and spoke softly to him for a minute, and Glyndr perked up a bit. "You're sure?"
"Trust me. She still loves you. However, she is going to ask what you did last night. Don't lie to her, tell her the truth."
Glyndr nodded. He was going to have to have a long talk with his bride to be, and soon.
Gwenneth was standing on the balcony watching Kellyn and several other members of the guard putting their horses through paces when they returnd to her room. She said a quick prayer to her gods and reentered the room.
"Where did you spend the night?"
"How could you sleep with my most trusted man in my command?"
"That's easy, Glyndr. He charmed me. Perhaps not with magic, but with Kellquenti charm. When you hurt me, I had to hurt you worse. Now, I will ask you one more time. Where did you spend the night last night, Glyndr?"

Glyndr had gone to the Green Dragon instead of the Seven stars , Mrelyn was still staying there and he did not want to speak to his cousin if he returned there to get anything from his room, The captain had been in no mood to speak with his copper haired cousin.
He had sat at his usual place at the fireside ,with a tankard of ale on the table in front of him, the Inn was noisy and smoky, full of raucous laughter and bustle , the serving maids moving between tables ,expertly avoiding groping hands and pinches as they served plates, piled high with food. the Inn was renowned for its generous servings.
Glyndr had stared at the table top as he traced a pattern with his finger in a puddle of spilled ale, he was grateful for the noise and bustle. he did not want to be alone.
He had also been grateful for the company of three of the serving maids throughout the evening, two he flirted and became very 'friendly' with during their breaks, until they had to return to their work.
The third had just finished her shift as he had finished his ale , She had seen him alone all evening except when the girls were with him, she had asked if he needed anything before she left and could she keep him company as he seemed so alone.
He said yes to both.
It had started to rain as he left the warmth of the stables, the girl still there brushing straw from her hair,
The Kellquenti captain had gone back to his empty room and bed alone.

*********
Mrelyn's knock made him jump, he had been sitting on the window ledge , he too was watching Kellyn take some of the Guard and their horses through their paces.
He still could not believe that his most trusted ,loyal soldier had been the one to take his place in his Flower's bed.
He followed Mrelyn to Gwenneth's room, very apprehensive as to what she would say and do.
He watched her with a steady ice blue gaze as she asked her question.
"Gwenneth you know I can never lie to you," Glyndr swallowed hard, this was not easy,he dreaded her reaction but he would never lieto her.
"you have asked me for the truth and I shall tell you, I spent the last hours of the the night in my room, alone", he said truthfully, "I left for the Green dragon when I left you last night, I needed company", he stared at the floor, he could not look her in the eye.
He bowed his head as he told her everything, he would not keep it from her, she would know, he would keep nothing from her.
Glyndr did not look up , he continued to stand, head bowed, the guilt obvious .
"Sorry seems to be such an insignificant word for what I have done," he said quietly, "but by our God's Flower I am , I do not deserve your forgiveness , but I ask it just the same".
He waited for her to speak ,he knew that their relationship now probably hung in the balance.
The fearless captain never felt so afraid in his life

Gwenneth began to cry. She did not yell, she did not scream, she did none of those things that Glyndr was expecting her to do. Instead she cried. She would not let either of them touch her. Finally she stopped sobbing long enough to begin talking. "You began the game with me, by allowing Mrelyn into my room. I know now why you did it. So you would always have a excuse for your cheating. You do not love me, Glyndr. If you loved me, you would be able to curb yourself. Yes I slept with Kellyn, to get even with you for sleeping with the Elflord's wife. So instead of being alone in your room, and thinking about what you had done wrong, which is what I thought you were going to do, you instead go and find a serving girl at a pub and couple with her in the stable. I give up, Glyndr. You may sleep with whoever you want. But you are never to tell me you love me again. I will no longer tolerate the lies, Glyndr. If you want me in your bed, fine. If not, then I hope that whoever she is can handle the way that you are when you are holding your emotions in. Because if you get violent with a woman out there the way you have with me, nothing will save you from retribution."
She paused and said,"I will marry you, if you still want me to. Otherwise, if you would prefer either your freedom or to marry someone else, I will leave, with the children, so that we do not hamper your social life anymore. You can bed whoever you please on our wedding night, your stable girl, your elflord's wife, whoever it pleases you to sleep with. I love you, as best I can with a broken heart. I have given you chance after chance, Glyndr, and all you do is constantly prove that your sweet words and your talk of my being your only love, are nothing more than skillful tales you weave to get me to submit to you again and again. All you had to do was wait one night, Glyndr, one night of proving to me that you loved me and you were actually going to stop pursuing other women, and you could not even do that. You knew I was going to be with someone to get even with you, and you became so jealous not because of who I chose, but because I did make that choice, that you had to go wallow in self pity-again. Why don't you just take a dagger and slam it into my heart, Glyndr? Is it because you want to watch me suffer? Because I do. Why do you think I would dare cast against your cousin? To draw out his emotions. To try to find someone, anyone, Glyndr, who would be able to love me. That is why I always, always forgive you. Because I am hoping that one day, you might actually see that the reason I forgive you is because I do love you and will forever."
She got up and walked over to him. She touched his face, and then walked out the door.
She walked down to the gardens, cradling Witch in her hands. She began to cry again, and not wanting to be seen, she entered the back door to Felyon's studio, which was still empty. She sat there, far enough back from the window that she would not be seen, but so she could still see out. She sat there crying until she couldn't cry anymore.
Then she scooped up her kitten and walked back to her room. She opened the door, went inside, and locked the door.
She closed the doors to the balcony and locked them, drawing the curtains closed at the same time. When her room was completely dark, she lay down in the middle of her bed and took a vial out of the drawer next to her bed. She uncorked it, and was going to drink it when she heard a knock outside the door. "Gwenneth?"

Glyndr looked on in shocked surprise as Gwenneth cried desperate tears,he had not expected that.
His ice blue eyes full of the pain he felt and the pain he felt in her, their souls entwined, he felt every pang.
He wanted to go to her, to hold her tight , to never let go, but she would not let him close.
He listened in stunned silence as she spoke, he trembled, ice blue eyes wide with fear.
He saw nothing , noone but the one he loved the most, the one he hurt the most.
He finally found his voice, "I do not want that freedom, Gwenneth , I want you as my wife, that wish will never change," he spoke calmly and quietly his voice belying the fear he felt.
"I never meant to hurt you or make you suffer ..never...I.." he stopped, he was going to say that he loved her.
It was the truth, for all the lies she believed he told, that he loved her had always been the truth.
He did not say it.
She said she would never believe him if he did.
"Nothing means more to me than you and our children.I want no other as my wife, believe me if you wish , or say that I lie, I do not care anymore" he rubbed his forehead, his head was beginning to ache.
"Whatever happens between us, I want to see our children grow, to be there as a father to them, I will not abandon you, and never want you to leave me, please , grant me that one wish".
He closed his eyes with a shudder as she brushed his face, he almost turned and grabbed her arm ,he did not want her to walk away, to walk out of the door and out of his life ,perhaps never to return. but...
He let her go.
Glyndr stayed some time after she left, he wanted to remember, to feel her presence in the things in her room, her dress thrown on a chair , her bed, the bed they had shared so often.
The Elf left, he did not speak to Mrelyn. the hunter watched in silence as Glyndr left the castle for the walls.
The captain sat on the west wall high above the city, he looked out across the lands of Gondor, bright in the morning sun.
He knew that soon he must report for duty.
He had time enough yet to think.
Glyndr's life had never been easy, his temper ruling his thinking often, his past dark.
With Gwenneth he had finally found happiness .
He had held that happiness in his hands for such a brief moment ,Now he had crushed it through his selfish stupidity and lust, he had ruined his own happiness and dragged Gwenneth's with it to the hell he had created,He was not proud of the fact.
He ran silver ringed hands though his raven hair, blown wild on the windswept walls,
He must now forget that past, and rebuild a future, more importantly, he must build a future for Gwenneth as his wife, and their much wanted children.
"Gwenneth, my Flower, I poromise you I shall do everything to make what we have work, I shall make things right for you". The Kellquenti captain stood , Duty called, but he stayed at the walls anyway.

She opened the door and was surprised to see Felyon standing there. "Oh Lady, you must go to him, he waits on the west wall. He is grieving, Gwenneth."
"Good, he should grieve. He should have thought better of me."
Felyon looked at her with sadness in his eyes. "My Lady, he loves you, and he loves those children you carry. Do not allow this pain and suffering to drive a wedge between the two of you. You need to be strong. War is coming. What would you do if he were lost on the field of battle?"
She turned away from him and sighed."I would grieve for the rest of my life."
She grabbed her wrap and headed for the west wall.

Felyon watched her leave for the west wall, he held Witch to his chest, he kissed the kitten's soft , warm head. "Oh little one , I pray to our gods that they should be at one together, she trusts him no longer, and I know he accepts that, but at least they must hold to their bond, for both their sakes, and the the sake of their unborn children, war is coming and I fear for him".the Sylentor shivered, "I fear for her".
Glyndr could not bring himself to leave the walls, he could not give his soul to the training and drills he knew he must put his Kellquenti Guard through, his heart was not in it.
He sat back down on the highest point, "another few minutes". he promised himself before he must leave.
Too soon, he saw Kellyn walk from the watchroom, he knew the soldier was looking for him,
Glyndr stood, he walked slowly along the top of the walls, to have deserted his duty held a strict penalty.he dare not risk it.
As he reached the west watchtower he stopped, he saw who he hoped was Gwenneth making her way to the walls.
Duty forgotten , he went back to the watchtower, he waited.
Would she come to him , or was it Kellyn she sought?

Kellyn had seen her and asked if she knew the whereabouts of the Captain, and Gwenneth had nodded. "If you find him, my Lady, would you ask him whether he plans to run the men through their drills today? If not, I can certainly handle it." She smiled, thankful that Kellyn was holding to his vow of discretion. His black hair whipped around in the wind, his eyes fixed on her.
She smiled and said, "Of course I will. The Captain has had some difficulty over the past day and night and I believe he is only taking time to set himself right again."
Kellyn bowed to her, the perfect soldier, his eyes and visage never once reflecting the fact that he wanted to take her in his arms and crush her body to his, to taste her sweet mouth, and feel her heart pounding in rhythm with his again. He had promised her discretion, and that was what he would do.
Gwenneth headed for the watchtower, on the west wall, and found Glyndr leaning against it.
"Your men seek you, my Lord," she said softly, leaning against the tower next to him. "Will you go to them, or do you bear so much hatred now toward Kellyn that you will shirk your duty? It is not his fault, Glyndr. The fault is mine. In anger I offered a new game, instead of letting you see how hurt I was. In doing so, I hurt you by taking Kellyn to my bed. I should know by now that us hurting each other back and forth does nothiong but cause anger and resentment. I do not regret sleeping with him, Glyndr, I will be honest about that. I did enjoy him very much, and I would love to have him again. But I will not do that without your knowledge and consent." She stepped in front of him, and took his face in her hands. She kissed him softly. "Do not waste your life on hate, Glyndr. It would be easy for me to hunt down the women you were with, and use magic against them, but I will not. It is time to put hate behind us. We need to fix this, or walk away forever. I know what I want to do. What do you want, my husband to be?"

Glyndr's heart skipped a beat, she was here.
"Gwenneth", He thanked his gods , she had come to him.
"No , ..No my love I do not hate Kelllyn, I trust him with my life, he is good for you, take him when you wish you have my consent," Glyndr smiled, "A change is as good as a rest..! " The captain nodded, "yes, I must go to my duty," he smiled , "but not yet",
Glyndr took her in his arms,"Flower, none of this has ever been your fault, yes, we fight, we have our differences, but you have always stood by me, I have hurt you in mind and body, yet still you stay with me, Gods Flower, no other female would have taken and borne whatyou have",
The captain held her close to his chest,he kissed the top of her head,"My love, we shall always fight, and maybe hurt each other, we are two free souls, but our love runs deep, that shall never fail ,in love we are as one".
He kissed her, a deep meaningful kiss,"Flower ,I do not know what I would do without you, I could not survive without you".
Glyndr smiled his half smile," I suppose I had better go to my duty,I can do without dungeons and beatings .
The Elf captain turned towards her, ice blue eyes held the love he felt, "I want you", he said simply, "let us talk soon, I have never hated, and yes, we must fix this, and soon".
Glyndr put his arm around her as they walked from the walls.
He went towards the watchroom, Kellyn stood waiting for him, His captain -god arched an eyebrow as he passed the soldier,"Kellyn, escort Lady Gwenneth back to her room, I cannot,I have much to do here", Glyndr kissed Gwenneth, a wild, magical, Kellquenti kiss before he left for training and drills.
"Er..my Lady", Kellyn bowed, "please let me escort you back to your room", the young soldier took a deep breath as he took her arm. Glyndr's look had puzzled him greatly.

Gwenneth took Kellyn's arm, and smiled at his concerned look. "Fear not, Kellyn. He harbors no ill will toward you for what happened between us. He and I have spoken about everything. He has said I may have you when I want to," she said softly.
She stopped walking, and she looked at Kellyn, deep into those ice blue eyes, so similar to Glyndr's, but without the icy edge to them. "Kellyn, we must talk when we arrive at my room."
He simply nodded and walked her through the hall to her quarters. She opened the door and found Felyon and Mrelyn both there, anxious looks on their faces. Witch promptly bit Felyon and leapt from his hands and raced to her, mewing loudly. She scooped the kitten up and laughed, closing the door as she pulled a suddenly nervous Kellyn into the room.
"It's okay, Kellyn. They know." She smiled at the two elves and said,"They know everything."
"Please sit here by me, Kellyn," Gwenneth said, patting the couch beside her. When he sat, she took his hands in hers, and said,"Do you still wish to be with me?"
He nodded mutely, after casting a look at Mrelyn, who, as usual, was glowering at the situation. "Then you need to understand, Kellyn, that you are not the only one that Glyndr shares me with. Mrelyn and I have an arrangement as well. I wanted you to know, because what I am going to say next will greatly surprise you. I am also of Kellquenti blood, and I carry the taint of magic in me. I used that to feed the fire of our union last night, not much, but enough to make you insatiable, and to feed my own desire so I could match your passion. If you are angry with me for this I need to know now. I did not use witchcraft, merely the natural seductive capabilities of some of our people. If you want to be with me, you must understand, I do not want to use you only as a plaything. You must agree to wanting to be with me."

The young soldier could not believe his luck.
His captain -god was not going to make his life hell. In fact he had made it heaven.
Kellyn was surprised as Gwenneth pulled him into the room, He froze when he saw Mrelyn and Felyon , he began to feel panic until Gwenneth explained everything.
He sat beside her and listened as she spoke, his bright blue eyes widening as she told him the red haired Elf that glowered at him also shared her bed, he glanced at the blond one, but didn't ask.
His amazement grew as she explained how she had enhanced their pleasures, he had heard that a rare few of his race held the gift. He was glad she was one of them.
Kellyn turned quickly from Mrelyn's scowl ,his eyes brighter as he spoke to Gwenneth, "My Lady , of course I want to be with you", he spoke quietly, embarrassed to speak of such intimate things in front of the other two Elves.
Kellyn's day had become ever stranger as it went on,It started when he woke at the wrong end of his bunk, his blanket hopelessly wrapped around him and his fellow soldiers sniggering amongst themselves as if they knew something he didn't.
Felyon sucked at his hand where Witch had bitten him, "My Lady I must go to put the last touches to the portrait, it is finally ready," he said proudly as he went to the door.
The Sylentor had been very worried for Gwenneth earlier, she had had a strange look in her eyes, the sensitive Sylentor was happier now, she seemed better.
Mrelyn followed him ,"Gwenneth, if you still wish to go hunting with me, I shall meet you at the stables in an hour," He smiled, "remember what I told you, it is for your own safety"..
Kellyn stood also, "My Lady I must get back to the barracks, he brushed the errant lock of hair from ice blue eyes that looked eagerly into her emerald.
As he went towards the door Witch pounced from beneath the bed , she batted a glass object with her paws, it bounced off Kellyn's boot.
He crouched to pick it up.
The Elf stared at the vial on his palm as he stood to face Gwenneth, a look of anxious fear in his eyes, "My Lady, what is this?"he asked his voice shaking as he spoke.
The soldier did not know what he held in his hand, but he knew he would not like her answer.

"Nothing!" she said, starting to rise and reach for it. "I mean...it's nothng. At all." She reached for it again, "May I have it back, please?"
Kellyn looked at her and his eyes narrowed. "I too have a gift my Lady. I know when someone is lying to me. Even when they have not made it so obvious. He slipped the vial into his pocket. "Maybe I will ask Captain Glyndr if he knows..."
Gwenneth grabbed his arm."No. He would kill me."
"Why? What is it that he would have reason to kill you for having it?"
"It's..." she stared into those blue eyes...and lost."It's poison, Kellyn."
He looked confused. "My Lady, why would you have need to have poison in your room?"
"I was going to use it to end my life."
"Why, Gwenneth?"He grasped her arms and pulled her up to her feet, searching for something in her eyes.
She stopped struggling and stared at him. "You called me Gwenneth."
He blushed and let go of her. "I am sorry."
"No, don't be. You may call me Gwenneth when we are alone."
"Gwenneth, why?" He sat down on the bed and pulled her down with him.
"Because I thought my husband to be was going to leave me."
Kellyn scoffed. "Even if he did, there is still one Kellquenti soldier who will love you." He kissed her softly, and said. "Lay down and rest. I will come back later."
When he left, he took the poison with him.

Eldarion yawned idly as he stretched his arms out over his head, rolling with a languid docility onto his side to be met with the image of his wife, stirring with her soft voice muffled by the last dregs of slumber, eyes unfocused as they slid to his grinning face. " It's early" she sighed wistfully, rubbing her eyes until, moulding herself against his bare, firm chest, a delicious smile of idle bliss hovered upon her lips." Well good morning husband" she smiled, the words sounding sweet upon her lips as Eldarion hoisted himself up to his elbows, tucking a toose tendril of deep, rare gold behind his wifes ear. " It is the best of mornings" his eyes traced the warmth in her eyes before leaning over, he placed the gentliest of kisses to her forehead yet even that stirred a beacon of desire to flash breifly through her body, matched by the ardent whispers he poured into her hair. " Ah duty" he cursed, pulling away with a reluctant grunt as the stewards bustled in, dressing him in a thick fur lined tunic of dark grey. His trews were specially made of some forgien linen brought from the sparse linen mills of Soar and almost the same sultry blue of Ceinwyn's eyes. The Queen watched languidly from her ruffled silken sheets, eying her husband with doltish charm until, throwing a thin sillk lilac gown over her slender, willowy frame she strode into the powder room adjoining the couples chamber. " Some new papers are arrived earler this morning Lord King. They are in your study" Brethlan added quietly as the Prince, finely clothed and calmed with the presence of his wife as she emerged back from the confines of her dresser, nodded, the weight of Kingship mellowed somewhat by the unwavering support of his people. " I will see to them shortly" he bowed his head " but not before I have had a morning walk with my Queen" he stipulated firmly, pressing a hand into the small of Ceiwnyn's back and leading her out in the secluded courtyard, knot gardens flourishing in the dewy light of morning. An aura of hazy peace encapsulated the couple, so fine, but so precious to thier people's as they strode quietly in the gardens. A King and Queen on their first day of reckoning. A man and woman on thier first morning of marriage.

Kellyn walked slowly back to the barracks, He was thinking of Gwenneth, he hated to think of her bieng so unhappy that she would think of taking her own life and the new lives she carried.
The soldier was so absorbed in his thoughts he almost missed the King and Queen as they passed him on trheir way to the gardens, he stared in horror as he only just managed to acknowledge them in time, he forgot whether to salute or bow in his haste. He opted for the bow.
Kellyn stared after them as they entered the gardens, they looked so much in love, he wondered if he would ever find an Elleth he could be as happy with..
"Kellyn!" Glyndr's voice made him jump, "Soldier it does not take half an hour to escort my bride to be back to her room, what the hell have you been doing all this time!?", Glyndr strode towards him, his captain-god was not amused.
Kellyn bowed again , "Oh.. er ..I.." he failed miserably.
"For our gods sake soldier", Glyndr glared at him"one night with an Elleth and you become a gibbering wreck! pull yourself together", Glyndr handed him a pile of reports, "And take this lot to the King, giive them only to him. no one else, is that clear?"
Kellyn bowed again, "Yes captain, " Kellyn looked very embarrassed , he was usually the perfect, calm soldier."I shall go right away",
"Good", Glyndr turned back towards the stables ,"Report back to me in two hours," he called back to Kellyn, "I am going to ride out with some of the men , the lazy devils need a bit of practice with combat horse to horse".
Kellyn strode back to the castle, he noticed Mrelyn talking to Glyndr at the stableyard, the hunter was ready mounted , Ember at his side.Kellyn had heard him speak to Gwenneth of accompanying him on the hunt , the soldier was concerned for her, he knew how hard Mrelyn rode when he was in killer mode.
The soldier reached King Eldarion's study, he stopped.
"Oh hell!", he said as he slapped his hand to his forehead",How stupid I am, the King is in the gardens, I have only just passed him", He could not leave the reports there unattended,
"Gwenneth"!,He remembered that she dealt with Eldarion's letters and reports, he would take them to her to look after.
Kellyn knocked quietly on her door, entering only when invited.
"My Lady.., er..Gwenneth, Captain Glyndr has charged me with delivering these reports to only the King , I have seen him with the Queen in the gardens, would you take charge of them until he returns?"
The soldier went to the window , Mrelyn still waited ."That is unless you intend to ride to the hunt with captain Glyndr's cousin." he said the tone of his disapproval evident in his voice.

Glyndr led twenty of his Kellquenti guard through the east gate, they would be practicing combat at the river , Glyndr loved to make it as difficult as possible for them. The marshy ground would add to the difficulty perfectly..
The captain smiled to himself,as he thought of Gwenneth, he intended to see her to set a date for their wedding when he returned.

"Why can no one leave the poor man alone? He just got married, for Valar's sake!" Gwenneth cursed as yet more papers were handed to her. "So help me, if there is one more stack, I shall go into the garden and scream." The messenger looked at her apologetically, and handed her more papers. "She threw her hands up in exasperation. "Did everyone take a day off from writing and now must catch up?" She excused the messenger, and then saw a scroll addressed to her. She picked it up, and looked at it. Then very slowly, she opened it and began to read.
Her eyes widened, and she felt sick. "Oh, no. No. This cannot be. Not now, please, no..." She stared at the words, tears streaming down her face. She sat like that for sometime, until she heard a voice in the hall, approaching the study.
Hide it, destroy it. The voice in her head said, get rid of it now.
Gwenneth quickly folded it and then tucked it hastily inside the bodice of her gown. She would burn it later. She was just finishing wipong her tears away and had settled down to sorting as the knob began to turn...
It was Kellyn. he handed her papers, and she glanced through them as he kept talking. Suddenly she froze. "My gods! The hunt!" She raced to the window. She could still see Mrelyn, so she raced out the door of the study and out to where he waited. "Mrelyn, please give me a few minutes to change. I do so want to go along."
"I will give you five, and no more, I am anxious to be off."
She ran to her quarters, and swiftly changed. As she pulled off the gown, the parchment flutered to the floor and she scooped it up , crumpled it and threw it on the fire. She watched it begin to burn as she pulled on leggings and a tunic and belt, and then she poked it farther into the fire.
She exitted her room, and hurried out the door, stopping a guard on the way. "Please tell the King that his reports from Captain Glyndr are on his desk, to the left of everything else, and all his other papers are sorted. I will be back this afternoon." She ran out the door, not noticing the way the man looked at her legs as she ran off.
She mounted Windseeker as quickly as possible, thankfully, Mrelyn had thought to tell the stable boy to ready her horse.
She rode up beside him and Ember, and said, "A question before we go, hunter? What prize will I get if I bag a boar?"
She smiled wickedly at him. "Let us hunt."

The Queen sighed with wistful pride as Eldarion left here mere hours later to attend to the monotaneous piles of scripts, congratulations from minor Dukes not having had 'the pleasure' of visting the newly crowned Queen themselves. Scribbling his signature without barely looking at whom it came from, his attention rapidly waned as it drifted to the open courtyard where the morning hunt was being readied to canter out through the streets before finally rushing out into the pastures. The sharp tug of youth's will yearned for the relative freedom of Princedom; only yesterday he could have gone with them. But now, crowned King, nothing seemed so simple anymore...everything had consequences." Hard to get used too isn't it?" Elessar's voice echoed dully off the high rafterd ceilings as Eldarion, swinging his legs down from where they were propped on the desk, started, easing back into his chair with a relived roll of the eyes. " Father it is only you!..I thought it was one of those dammed messengers again. Honestly, there is no peace! How did you cope all these years?" he sighed incredulously but the ranger simply shrugged, grinning as he eyed his son thoughtfully. " My I look at you and still can remember the boy - that is I could look at you and still remember the boy. Now I see a man before me; a wedded man and a King. Your mother and I are very proud son" he noted quietly. Despite his years and the worn habits of Kingship, he still bore the aloof sense of prowess which ran through the blood of his son, watchful; resolute. But now only a warm tenderness glowed within his crinkled eyes. " It will come to you in time Eldarion. The people look upon thier King as a sort of God. To them you are warrior, husband, man and Lord. It is a hard task to live up to" he admitted ruefully, the sunlight catching the grey lines merging within his hair." but it has many rewards....the same most important one as me. To marry for the purest but most powerful form of love. That son, is a gift worth signing a few tedious papers I think" he arched a regal brow whilst Eldarion, nodding with a grin, sighed, completeing the papers with a renewed sense of vigour as the hours passed. " There! Come father, let us find my mother and my wife - my wife!" he relished the prospect eagerly, rubbing his hands in brusque delight as father and son strode out this time into the privy chambers, amiable and courteous as ever.

Kellyn stared after Gwenneth as she ran from the room.
He felt suddenly lost, she had left him without so much as a goodbye, as she flew to the copper bright Elf, did she really care for him ?, or did she use him as that plaything she spoke of? Kellyn hoped not.
The soldier left for the barracks and training, it would take his mind off his fears.Gwenneth filled his thoughts and heart.
Mrelyn grinned a Glyndr grin as Gwenneth flew to mount Windseeker, "Ah , so you do accept the challenge of the hunt", his amber eyes burned with the power of the hunter, a primeval force that ran deep in his blood.
"Come then," amber flashed ,the fire of the hunt already deep in him."Remember my words , do exactly as I tell you, and take no risks, hunting is not a simple a game as some imagine".
Mrelyn urged Kestrel forward as he whistled to Ember, the hound running close to his side.
Kellyn stood at the watchroom door , he watched them leave, his young heart breaking. He went into the watchroom. Glyndr had left him orders, he needed to fulfill them before his captain - god returned.

***********
Glyndr delighted in the extreme difficulties his guard found themselves in . The marshy ground and high river proving a difficult barrier.
He rode at two of his guard in mockbattle, screaming orders at them, cursing their slowness. He would not tolerate it.
the Kellquenti captain turned as he re positioned Sylstar for another attack.
He saw Mrelyn ride a chestnut stallion at speed from the city. His cousin was on the chase. He also saw a bay stallion run close at his side, a horse he knew too well.
Glyndr was almost hacked to death by two Kellquenti blades ,his mind diverted to his Flower, for a fleeting moment.
It was only his Elven speed and honed military skills that saved him from certain death.
He put his mind back to the task.
But his thoughts were now haunted by his fears.

*********
Mrelyn rode fast to the forest, Gwenneth close at his side.
Suddenly Ember found the scent. he was off, "Gwenneth , follow me", Mrelyn callled to her, "Do as I say, take no risks, claim the quarry before me and you can ask your prize", the copper haired Elf ,grinned as he urged Kestrel to the hunt.the chestnut stallion well trained , Mrelyn had no need to guide him.
The boar was unusually fast, it was a huge creature, old and wise, it knew the land , It led them a long , hard chase over rough, difficult ground. Mrelyn was well used to it, he kept looking back to Gwenneth.to see she was still with him.
Eventually he gave up, she seemed to have no difficulty in the chase. He was pleased, they almost had their quarry, Ember's baying told him the hound had the beast cornered.
"Gwenneth", Mrelyn called to her, "Take it it is yours, miss it and the prize is mine", The fire haired elf notched an arrow in his bow,in case she missed, or did not make the kill completely, a wounded boar of this size was lethal. "Gwenneth , do it " , he ordered sharply, he could see the danger for them and his hound, "Do it now and be quick", Mrelyn trusted her , She was no ordinary Elleth, yet this was no ordinary boar....

She fired her shot, aiming for the heart of the beast. It screamed in pain, and she managed a second shot before it had time to recover from the first, the second one cracking the skull of the beast. Its squeal of rage and pain stopped suddenly, and it fell.
She turned her face to Mrelyn, all wide-eyed and innocent, emerald eyes gleaming and sparkling. "Did I do that alright? I realize I should have only needed one shot, but it is my first time hunting wild boar." Her sweetness in her voice made her seem so innocent, and yet Mrelyn knew there was nothing innocent about her.
By the time he had closed his mouth and dismounted, she was already down and inspecting the beast. He showed her how to dress it out, although she wrinkled her nose at the tearing flesh. It made her shiver, but in a strange way she liked the sound.
Then, once they had cleaned the blood from their hands, the thrill of the hunt claimed them, among the thick trees and long grasses, Kellquenti magic, male and female, tossing back and forth between them until they were utterly exhausted and panting. She pushed herself up on her elbow and kissed him, a soft gentle kiss. "Now, for my prize," she said,"because that hardly counted. I can have that prize when ever I want it."
"Tis true, my Lady, you can. So what would you desire that I can give to you?"
"That anytime you hunt, I be your hunting partner. A simple enough request. Will you grant it?"
"My Lady, I do not have a choice, although all hunts will not be as easy as this. That boar was dangerous, but there are more dangerous beasts that I hunt. I am not sure Glyndr would agree to this."
She sat up and regarded him coolly. "I do not recall Glyndr being a part of this agreement. I slew the boar. I decide my prize." She began to dress quickly, and then said,"Of course, I could always make it my prize that you not be able to please anyone but me, and then withhold myself from you," she said coldly. Gwenneth turned to face him, and found him on his feet grabbing her wrists and pinning her to a tree. "Is it not enough that I myself cannot be pleased by any but you, you wish to torture me further with this threatened curse on me? You are treading on dangerous ground my little Angel." He ran his tongue over her ear, and felt her tremble. "Perhaps I should turn your own words against you, meleth nin,\]
" he softly murmured, kissing her throat. "Perhaps I should make it so none but me can please you."
"No!" She struggled against him, "you cannot. Glyndr would never forgive you."
"Yes he will, once I explain that you wished to curse me. It will not affect him, except that you will remain amorous . Perhaps he would like you like that. I am sure your little toy Kellyn would."
"Mrelyn, please I beg you, do not do this to me. I am sorry." He looked at her, smiled an evil, wicked smile. "Remember this, the next time you decide to idly threaten me, Angel." He kissed her softly on the lips, releasing her wrists from his iron grip, and then retreating to truss up the boar.
They rode back, in silence, coming upon Glyndr and his men again. Mrelyn proudly announced to Glyndr that his bride to be had succeeded in her first boar hunt, and that she would be his hunting companion from then on.
They went back to the city, presenting the huge boar to the kitchen staff at the palace, as Gwenneth pleased to do, and then retreating to their rooms to clean up.
Glyndr made a brief stop at the barracks before entering her room, as he had to pick something up.
Gwenneth came out of her bath to the sounds of the desperate mewing of her kitten, and flew into her bedroom to find a larger male cat, batting the kitten with its paws. She raised her foot, and Glyndr said coldly,"I would not advise that." She saw him then, reclining on the couch and drinking a glass of wine. "That is Warlock. I felt it was time they were introduced."
Gwenneth reached down to pick up her kitten, and quickly withdrew her hand when Warlock hissed loudly at her and lunged for her hand.
"Glyndr, this beast just tried to bite me!"
He calmly took another sip. "Then I would suggest you come here, curl up with me, drink some wine, and tell me about your day, rather than attempting to take his future bride from him."
She strolled across the floor and took the goblet he offered her, entwining her fingers with his, and settling into the curve of his body.
He sipped and said softly,"Mrelyn told me of the events today. You really should be more careful when you spark his ire. He was fully ready to do what he said he would."
"I gathered that. I will never do it again, meleth nin."
"Good." They drank in silence for a while, Glyndr refilling their glasses, and then Gwenneth sighed. "Glyndr, I want to be with you alone tonight. No one else. Promise me."
He kissed her hair and said softly, "Nothing would make me happier." They both looked over at the two felines, Warlock now stretched lazily in a circle around the ball of fluff that was Witch, both sound asleep.

The hunter ran the steps to his rooms. He felt alive, his spirit still living the hunt.
He threw off his tunic as he strode across the room, a bath already waiting, he had ordered it before he left.
He sank into the warm water stretching aching muscles.
Mrelyn grinned, the hunt had been good.
So had Gwenneth.
He planned another for early the next day. this one would take them further from the city.and would take most of the day.
Mrelyn hoped that his hunting partner would be able to join him,Gwenneth was becoming even more interesting as he grew to know her.
He smiled a wicked smile, as he remembered her threat of a curse, it excited him,"Well my angel.. just remember,.don't play your little games with me, like my cousin I can play games too" ....

*****
Kellyn still sat in Glyndr's office, paperwork strewn over the desk. Two important reports needed to be done by the morning, the captain hated paperwork and report writing, he had spoken to Kellyn of the content then skillfully delegated the writing to him.
The soldier rubbed his eyes ,he sat back , he suddenly felt very tired.
The errant lock of hair fell forward into his eyes as he leant to finish the last of the reports. He brushed it back as he stood ,then folding the parchments carefully he went to the door. The reports had to be taken to the King's study.
Kellyn walked across the square to the castle, he looked up at Gweneth's window, he wondered if she was alright, he still had the vial, she would not get that back.
The soldier delivered the parchments then began to walk back, he passed Gwenneth's room,
He knew Glyndr was with her, he could hear them talking.
Kellyn thought back to his magical time with her, He sighed, she had run all too quickly to the copper haired hunter earlier without a word to him.
He would try not to let it hurt him, after all, she was not his in love.

*********
Glyndr poured the last of the wine into their goblets, he stretched slowly, and curled himself lazily around Gwenneth as smoothly and as sensuously as Warlock now curled around Witch.
The captain almost purred as loudly as Warlock as he nipped at her neck, moving up to her ear, "Flower my love," he whispered softly, " The King and Queen are now married, I said that we would speak of our marriage after, The time has come now,my love, I do not want to waste the time we have, war may strike soon , the warnings are already there, who knows what fate may deal us, let us marry soon,"
He kissed her neck, "I leave the choice of date to you,"
The captain smiled a wicked smile "Then you females can spend all your time chattering about whether silk or satin , or oh no, plain linen is so much better" . He laughed, "God's that sounded just like Felyon, he will be uncontrollable".
The smile faded, "I love you my Flower". he said it, and meant it, whether she believed him or not.

Gwenneth snuggled closer to Glyndr and stared at the wine in her goblet as she sipped at at. "Perhaps we should move to the bed," she said, sitting up and disentangling herself from him.
She pulled him up and over to the bed, taking his goblet from him as she began kissing him. She ran her hands up into his thick, silky hair, and pulled gently on it and the kiss deepened.
His hands caressed down her back as he lowered her to the bed gently with his body weight.

***********
Her head rested on his chest and she stroked the scar on his chest. "Love, how did you get this scar?"
"You have yet to answer my question, Flower. Answer mine and I will answer yours.
She giggled, and had to untangle herself from the sheets in order to be able to see his face. "What was the question?"
"When do you want to get married?"
"Hmmm..." she thought for a minute. "How about in a week?"
"A week?"
"Yes, seven days from now."
"Hmm, will that be enough time?"
"I don't want a big wedding, my love. Just us and a few friends."
"If that is what you want, Flower, then that is what you shall have." He rolled over and said,"Now, I shall have what I want." His lips lowered to her throat.
"Wait, meleth nin, you are...supposed to.." she forgot what she was going to say.

*************
He gazed down at her sleeping form. He had worn her out and then put her to sleep. He didn't want to talk about the scar that marred his chest, and he didn't want to use magic on her either, but he had resorted to it anyway, in the hopes she would forget what she had asked.

Glyndr had become worried when she asked about the scar,
He did not want to speak of how it happened, it was Felyon who had almost killed him and had scarred his pale skin forever, It was in an encounter so furious and vicious, that both never wanted to remember it again.
"A week", Glyndr nestled closer,In a week they would have sealed their love bond forever, he desperately wanted that, yet there was so much of his past he could not, would not speak of.the fight with Felyon was one, he knew she too hid some things from him.
Perhaps neither would ask the other, some things are best kept secret.
Glyndr lay his head against hers as she lay entwined with him, her head nestling on his chest,The Elf captain feared the coming war, he would be ordered to ride to battle with an enemy no doubt ten times their numbers, He feared the all too real possibility that he would be killed in battle, his heart and soul ached for her, What would she do, as she gave birth to his children,? young lives that would never know their father,Children that, if they were boychildren would be his image.. He threw the thought from his mind as he pulled her closer. War ,as yet, had not reached them.

*************
Kellyn just picked at his meal, the laughter and jokes of his fellow soldiers at the table lost on him. he was not hungry,
He excused himself early and went to his bunk. A few of his companions sniggered amongst themselves. saying that Kellyn could not wait to get back to dreaming of his new love.
They were almost right, Kellyn's mind was on Gwenneth, he felt so alone, so stupid, how could one such as she, an important member of the Royal household ever feel anything for him, a mere soldier, pehaps she did just play with him, he did not care , He was so pleased that itwas Gwenneth that had claimed his virginity.
Now he supposed he must look for another, He stood no chance against his captain -god and the hunter.

************
Mrelyn lay back in his bed, his magical link with Glyndr told him not to visit Gwenneth tonight ,
He smiled, one night would make no difference, he would ride out with her the next morning, Tomorrow she would be his again, wild and full of the power of the hunt, He could wait.

************
Warlock woke , he stretched lazily, then, nipping Witch's bottom , he nimbly avoided her sharp claws in his nose as he spoke to her.
Witch followed the ebony black tomcat to leap onto the bed,
All four ,two Elves and two cats slept peacefully.
Something none of them may ever do again when the threatened war started.

Gwenneth woke before dawn. She went to stretch and found her feet buried under a pair of cats. She kissed Glyndr's forehead and slipped to the wardrobe, quickly dressing in fresh hunting garb. She slipped quietly out of the room, and down the still dark hallways, out the door past the guards and around to the side of the barracks. She sent a mental inspiration to Kellyn...
********
He sat up in bed, not sure what happened. Everyone else was still asleep. Then he heard it again.
Come to me, Kellyn. I need to speak to you.
He got off the bed and hurried out the door, clad in only his pants.
Gwenneth was right outside the door to the barracks, and she smiled to see his bare chest.
"Good morning, Lady Gwenneth."
"Yes it is, Kellyn." She stepped up to him and ran her hand over his chest. "A good morning indeed." She smiled and stepped back a half step. "I wanted to assure you I was not intending to be rude yesterday. I was just in a hurry to go on the hunt. It was not intended as a slight on you. I wanted you to know that. I was not using you, and you will be mine again very soon, if you wish."
He smiled and said softly,"Oh, you have no idea." She laughed and said, "Yes, I do. I would love to kiss you right now, but as I said discretion must be used. Just know I intend to make up for my rudeness and a lack of a kiss right now. I will be with you soon."

*******************
She smiled as she left him, and continued on her way to the inn. She went in, and headed directly up the stairs. She didn't need to get his room number, she knew she would know where he was.
She opened the door, and smiled when she saw him sleeping. The other side of the bed was smooth and unruffled, which was good. That meant that he was unsuccessful in finding anyone the night before. She went and sat on the edge of the bed and softly sent a whisper of a hint to his mind.
Mrelyn, its time to wake.
He stirred, and then opened his eyes. He looked startled to see Gwenneth in his room.
"So, hunter, what do we pursue today?"

Arwen sat perched on a wicker, velvet padded chair in the far corner of the privy chamber, stitching the golden thread with an astute grace in measured, rhymatic movements, controlled. Relaxed. Light blue eyes drifted to the laughing figure of her husband, still fine after so many years of a glorious reign, still her old Aragorn - the forgotten King; the lone ranger. Ah but how the years have changed us - even me...she mused, twirling a lock of raven dark hair critically in her palm until with a small sigh, she shrugged, tucking it neatly back behind her headress of ivory pearls. Eldarion, with the aloof elven beauty of his mother lending him an unatural charm for humans, rose, bowed to his parents and led Ceinwyn by the palm out once more into the dewy courtyard, where again they were to be found on the second day, a slight breeze stirring the tendrils of loose gold bouncing at the Queen's neck." So what is it today then husband? More papers to avoid?" she teased wryly but he just grimaced, gave a short nod, and slid his arm to her slender waist. " Later, I will do them later. For now let us be just together. Come" he urged eagerly, guiding her out from the secluded courtyard and out into the stables, swerving abruptly into a narrow, dusty lane before it widened, pooling into a square training paddock. " here - no, I mean there" he pointed urgently to where a fine palfrey was tethered to a stump of wood. Ceinwyn's eyes widened as she drew closer, stroking a creamy palm down its silken flanks, well muscled and powerful despite the delicateness of its frame. " It is a horse fit for a Queen don't you think? A gift from Queen Lothriel of Rohan to Queen Ceinwyn of Gondor. Couldn't have chosen better myself" he noted as his wife's smile grew wider, infused with an earnest delight. " Ah what good friends we have! I must send her something in return of course..perhaps some fabric from Soar?" she mused curiously when, turning her jead with a brisk sharpness, it softened as she recognised the person whom drew near them...

Kellyn thought he was going mad.
He heard her voice in his head calling to him,he woke with a jump, Twice he heard her before he went quickly and quietly to the door.
He wasn't going mad it WAS Gwenneth.
His heartbeat raced as she placed her hand on his chest, he was sure she could feel it, it was so strong.
He was so excited he almost didn't hear her explain why she had left so quickly.
The soldier was so happy that she still wanted him. He watched her leave for the inn before returning quickly, to his bunk.He would be in deep trouble if he was caught running around half naked.
Kellyn prayed that she would take great care, he knew she was going hunting again.

**************
Mrelyn was dreaming of a cool river, warm sun and herb scented grass under his back as he lay next to a beautiful Elleth, the breeze scented with wild flowers,
The Elleth rolled towards him she spoke his name softly.......
He woke with a start..an Elleth was calling him.
Gwenneth sat on his bed smiling at him, he smiled a sleepy smile in return.
The fire haired Elf stretched slowly, "I was dreaming...and it has come true", he pulled her down to him to a deep kiss, his body still warm from sleep, red hair tousled , lay across the pillows.
Mrelyn smiled , he knew that they must get started soon for the hunt ,yet he was beginning to get other ideas.
He fought them hard as he kissed her again "I must get ready ,we have a long ride ahead of us" he said with a sigh as he rolled over and slipped out of bed,
the hunter yawned as he quickly washed and dressed."I have ordered that the horses be made ready, and that the kitchens have packed food for us, we shall be gone some time".
Mrelyn buckled on his quiver and fetched his bow, He grinned, "Today we hunt a large stag I have seen it to the north of here, there again we may find other quarry" he arched an eyebrow as he took her arm to go to the door "We may, just may bag a few orc trophies if we are lucky".

Gwenneth eyes lit up. "A stag..and orcs? Somehow I think Glyndr doesn't know of this excursion of ours or he would not be allowing it, now would he?"
"Of course not. Do you think I am crazy?" Mrelyn laughed.
"About me, yes...in general, no."
"Ah, well, you certainly have that right."
They headed to the kitchen, then to the stables. They saw the King and Queen, and a lovely woman with long curly blond hair, that looked remarkably like Ceinwyn.
Great, Gwenneth said. Another one just like her...I will lose Glyndr for sure now.
"Gwenneth? Gwenneth!" Mrelyn was staring at her.
"I am going to lose Glyndr. Another woman that looks just like Ceinwyn. I am going to lose him."
Mrelyn sighed. "Gwenneth, Glyndr loves you. If he doesn't love you enough to stay away from her, then he doesn't love you enough to keep you. Now come on, we must get to the hunt."
"Wait just a moment." She headed for the King and Queen, dropping a low curtsy to them.
"My Lord King, my Lady Queen. I will keep you only a moment." She looked at Eldarion, and said,"My Lord King, Glyndr and I wish to be married in six days in a private ceremony, and as our friend as well as our King, we would like you to perform the ceremony. Queen Ceinwyn, I would like for you to stand up with me at the ceremony, if that would please your Majesty." She then turned to the other woman there. "Hello, you must be a relative of our Queen. I am Lady Gwenneth."
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Lady Ceinwyn. I am Lady Ariel, Ceinwyn's sister."
*****************
Ariel had arrived, a little afraid of what would happen when she met this man her sister had desired her to meet. She had ben unable to attend the wedding, as she was a good distance away, and had just finished mourning the death of her husband. Now her sister wanted her to meet some Prince Elboron or some such name, and she was nervous.
She saw her sister and her husband by a beautiful palfrey, and she went to greet them. They had hardly had a chance to greet one another when a beautiful elleth had come forward to speak to Ceinwyn and Eldarion. The elleth spoke of getting married and wanting their Majesties involved. Her eyes shown with such happiness that Ariel felt a swell in her chest, like she wanted to sob, but she didn't. Then the elleth turned her emerald eyes to her, Ariel saw pain behind the woman's smile. She wondered what could have put it there. She shook the elleth's hand and introduced herself, and hoping that the she-elf would not see her own pain.
Gwenneth glanced over shoulder at her copper-haired companion, and said,"I am sorry, I must take my leave, Mrelyn and I are going on a hunt. We will be back later today. Your Majesties," she swept low in another curtsy, and then curtsied to Ariel as well. "Twas a pleasure to meet. I hope we can speak again." With that, she turned and mounted her horse, and she and Mrelyn were off.

A stable lad held Windseeker as Gwenneth mounted, Mrelyn was already mounted on Kestrel, the chestnut stallion , snorting and prancing, as skittish as Sylstar, Ember bounded around them, the russet hound eager to be off.
The kitchens of the Inn had lived up to their usual standards and packed a huge amount of food for them.
Kellyn watched them leave at the east gate, he ran his hands through his hair..he wished he was going with them.
Mrelyn led them through thick woodland, over ditches, across rivers ever at a steady pace, ever northbound, He kept to the little known, seldom used tracks, Orc prey would be hunted on their return, orcs could be a little difficult, and they fought back sometimes. The stag would be first.
Mrelyn wanted that stag , he had tracked it for miles,he had watched it for a long while,he was ready now for the hunt.
As they reached a woodland almost at the far northern borders Ember bayed the sound Mrelyn wanted to hear.
The Elf looked to the heathland just west ofthe woods, the stag watched them with wild eyes, his proud head high, nostrils flared as he scented them. he stamped his foreleg snorting, He challenged the hunter and his hound.
A powerful red deer , old and wise , with vicious antlers of many points.
"Gwenneth", Mrelyn's amber eyes possessed by the fire of the hunt. "remember do as I say, take no risks, it will need both you and I to finish it cleanly at the end,"
The stag turned, it leapt away, it was cunning and knew every inch of the land.
Ember gave chase, Mrelyn and Gweneth close behind.
The animal led them over rough heathland, dense forest, crashing through undergrowth, plunging through rivers , over ditches ,fences and marshland.
Three hours it took to run the stag to bay.he had lost them twice but Mrelyn's powerful obsession and skills always found the track.
Ember held the stag at bay. the hound was well trained and kept his distance , the wild eyed stag was dangerous, wicked antlers could easily kill.
"Gwenneth", Mrelyn notched an arrow in is bow,"shoot when I do, this noble creature deserves a quick death, aim to kill outright ,wounded this animal is more lethal than that boar"
The Elf smiled , "we can then enjoy the food and mead packed for us and the knowledge that there will be a few orcs less in this world before we return to the city, we have that pleasure yet to enjoy". Amber eyes glowed gold fire, the primeval force had taken him again as he held a second arrow in his teeth ,He knew it would take more than just one or two arrows to finish this demon stag.
"NOW!"

Gwenneth loosed her first arrow at the same time as Mrelyn's and quickly had her second arrow nocked and ready to fly. They fired again, having to switch their angle a bit, as the wounded stag started a charge at the hound.
In the end it took six arrows, three apiece to drop the vicious demon stag, and Ember was not hurt, having skittered out of reach of the antlers at the last second.
Gwenneth was panting and out of breath. She had never known that hunting could be such a thrill. They dressed out the deer, and when Mrelyn turned around, he found the elleth reclining on the grass, with a smile on her face. "Leave the basket for now, Mrelyn. I am hungry for something else right now." Mrelyn did as she bid him, and crawled over her, raining kisses on her face as they began their dance again.
