"...... Ok, let's move."

Rynwyn was somewhat taken aback by Glorifindle's quickness as making the decision, as well as his pertness. SHe didn't argue, however, feeling better to know that someone who knew what he was doing was in charge of the affair. She moved to his right, hanging back behind him and peering ahead. She hadn't seen the figure but she invisioned a large man with a giant sword, intent on killing them all.
Don't get scared now, Rynwyn... she told herself, and she gripped her brother's sword and walked on, breathing deeply the cool air that crept up with the dawn.

(she's not good at guessing about people, is she? XD)

ooc- i hope I am not moving this too fast...

EArendel noticed movement farther ahead. She was by now a few yards a head of the assasin. But to the side and a head of her there was a group of shapes moving in this direction. If these were the assasins back up she was in a vulnerable spot. But she did not want to rush the others...

The new comers were still some distance away. Close to half a legue if her eyes were not decieveing her but they were moving at a good pace. After she stopped for a minute she let out a bird call. While she wasnt sure if it would mean any thing to her human or elf companions it would carry well and Hyldo always followed that type a bird around so it was a way to get her attension. Earendel know she would come without breaking into a run but the fact that she was going into the field might alert anyone who was paying attension that there was a concern. And it was also her hope that even if the assasin saw a rideless horse it would not nessacarily mean they were discovered.

Now Earendel moved slower but still keeping pace with the target but not going a head.

She know from a pace of the figures that it wouldnt be more then 10 or 15 mintues before they would see at least her and maybe other as well depending on what and who they were.

As the sun came up fully the night breezes started to strengthen, pushing Brenna's hair over her shoulder. Her long locks caught in the two halves of her bow, still sticking up from her quiver. Still walking, Brenna twisted round to untangle her hair. While doing so she caught sight of a group of people just on her horizion, and she felt her suspision heighten. Despite the fact that the chances were they were simply headed to Otham to seel or to buy, there was also a chance that they were after her, and she wasn't overly willing to take chances.

Brenna made no change to her movement, and untwisted her hair, before turning back to the horizion. To her intense relief tehre was smoke just beyond a dip in the plain. Otham! She was closer then she thought she was. Brenna ignored the instinct that told her to run, and simply picked up her pace. Once she was in the village she could loose herself fairly easily, this she was sure of.

Crawling throught the think grass Glorfindel worked his way into position behind the target. Fae and Rynwyn appeared to have done the same. Good. It was nearly perfect, if the Arien and Earendel were in position he could not escape. But somethings bothered him. He was enjoying this too much, it wasn't even his affair, but he had sworn to aid Rynwyn in aany way he could, and so far no one had objected to his plans.

Suddenley he heard a noise, a whistle, it sounded like a bird's whistle, but it came from Earendel's direction. He quickly raised his head and scanned the area. Figures on the horizon, heading this way! Reinforcment for the assasain? Posssibly. But they might be riders, not likley, he couldn't see any horses. They could just be neutral. Whoever they were, they certainly would be trouble. From their angle they could spot him, Earendel and Arien.

Curses, they'll ruin the plan. Should they abort? But that was smoke on the horizon, a village. If he got in there, we'd never find him. But if we attack now, then what? The newcomers would surely intervine! No, they should remain hidden, then they could see how the situation developed. With any luck the figures would pass them by. Hopefully. He just hoped the others could stay out of sight for that long.

(How about we wait to see what the newcomers do?)

It went on for some time with no sign that the new comers had seen anything... I t might be a ploy but they did seem likely to intersect near the dip that was ahead of them. I seemed mostly likely that there was a village there from the smoke rising from the area. But why pople would come in from the back seemed to Earendel to hint that they might be up to no good. She was also surprised that noone seemed to have been seen yet be the new comers.

As soon as Hyldo heard the whistle her head went up and all thought of grazing left her. She headed in the direction of the sound. She nudged glorfindel then turned to the left and went forward at a slow pace that still was faster then that group.

When the killer sped up so did Earendel. It was still likely that the new comers would reach the village before the rest of them.

After another few minutes Earendel was surprised to see that these new comers were in fact ocrs. Seven of them to be exact. She bent even lower to the ground not wanting to be spotted too soon.

It was a couple more minutes when there was a scream from the new comers they has spotted some one to attack...
Their war crys were hidious and load. They were suddenly running at full speed...They were moving in her general direction...

ooc- is that not enough or too much let me know and will edit it

Arien had also spotted the newcomers and found out that they were orcs, by the sounds of their war cries. The hidious creatures moved at an alarming pace towards the company, and Arien kept her blade out, keeping low to the ground in the longer grass, waiting for the orcs to come to them.

Arien let out a quiet whistle, and Kira trotted after her as she moved, not far away.

She couldn't tell if the orcs were orcs or uruk-hai...but she despised both. Those creatures were the beasts that had killed her family, and she didn't plan on sparing them long once they got to her and the rest of her companions.

Arien gripped her blade tighter now, in the tension of the oncoming battle, she was sure... She thought of the day she lost her brother and parents and her stomach tied in knots. The anger swelled within her as she watched the oncoming orc band with such hatred in her sharp green eyes that had made orcs cower before in a battle...

Arien awaited a signal from her new friends, and lay in wait, moving with the killer through the tall grass, not but 100 yards to his/her right...

Fae, although on the opposite side of the feild from Earendel, had sharp eyes and ears, she quickly caught sight of the orcs, and slowly edged towards them.

She was better at fighting on foot, and Jared was off grazing anyways. When she was close enough, and after the orcs had come even nearer to Earendel, Fae hurled a poison dart, which caught one in the neck. The poison worked very quickly, and the orc slumped to the ground. But three of the orcs had seen her stand up to throw it, and lumbered off in her direction, brandishing their crude swords and snarling.

Brenna heard the snarling voices of the orcs, and spun round. She watched as they turned from their path slightly, and unsheathed their blades, but decided that that was all that she needed to see. Brenna picked up her pace, jogging towards the village that was now clear to see. She did not think that the orcs would come into Otham: although she called it a village, to make herself feel happier about entering it, it was acctaually a small town, and the group of orcs was small.

Brenna slowed down again as she reached the outskirts, catching her breath so she didn't look out of place. She pulled herself into an alley way, and flicked a copper piece at the man who was crouched in front of a small fire there. He leaped for the coin, and while he was distracted, Brenna pulled off her quiver, and emptied the arrows and bow pieces into his fire. Curling up the quiver, she pushed it into her back, before pulling out a stiff, white, linnen dress. The man was now watching her curiously, so she flicked another coin in his direction, before pulling the dress on over her trousers and tunic. Brenna pulled her origanal clothes out from underneath the new dress modestly, before giving the man one final coin: a silver piece this time. "I wasn't here." She said, quietly. He nodded, watching the coin as though it would vanish.

"Right, miss." He said, distractedly, and Brenna, now Skyla, left the alley way, slinging her bag back onto her shoulder.

The sounds of battle reached Glorfindel's ears, and yet he still stayed close to the ground. The killer was within his line of sight, in another few yards and he could strike. Suddenley he felt something nudge him from behind. Weeling round he found a horse standing over him, it neighed and moved off. Earendel's steed. That was a good enough signal for him. Listoning intently to the sounds around him, the newcomers they were Orcs!

Immediatley his attention turned to the Orc band. But damn, he'd lost sight off the killer, if they didn't hurry he'd get away. But at that minute he caught sight of Fae jump up and hurl a dart at one of the Orcs. He dropped straight away but three others were advancing meacingly on her.

However they had not counted on her friends. For the Orcs passed just by where Glorfindel was hidden, whether his Elven cloak foiled their eyes or whether they were simply taken engrossed in their target, well it didn't matter.

As fast as lightning he drew he blade and leapt at the nearest Orc. The sword flashed accross in a horizontal slash accross the creature. It froze on the spot for a second and then dropped to the ground, it's head neatly seperated from it's shoulders.

It's two companians stood still for a moment, taking in this new piece of information. Then the nearest one leapt at him, bringing it's crude weapon down on Glorfindel in a two handed strike. Narrowly managing to dodge the blow, but he'd felt the wind of that one, Glorfindel brought his blade quickly around counter another strike.

"So much for stealth," he called to Fae.

Earendel slipped the bow off her back and 2 arrows out of her quiver...Thinking quitely to herself . Many thanks old freind for teaching me this rapid fire trick... The question would by which 2 orc would be the most danger to her new freinds...
In the few monents it took her to do this it no longer was an issue because Glorfindel had beheaded one orc.
Even as he was side stepping the second Earendel shot both arrows in rapid succesion one into the orc right in front of Florfindel and the other into the one right besdie that one.
As soon as the second arrow was flying she yelled"Hyldo side". At which the faithfull animal darted to the left at a gallop. If anyone had been paying attension to the animal they would have seen her turn and look at the orcs. Hyldo did not stop until she was well out of direct paths between orcs and freinds.

Now the Hyldo was safe Earendel quickly grabbed 2 more arrows and they where flying toward 2 of the orcs. They were still running in the direction of the killer but the killer was gone. It still would not be proper to leave those creatures to attack the nearby village. If Earendel's memory was not wrong she had traveled to this spot before three or four times. She know many of the people by sight and some be name. She know that it would not due to have orcs enter if there was any way she could prevent it.

As soon as the last two arrows were flying the orcs changed their diection and haeded straight for her. The arrows found orc flesh. But they kept coming the ones she hit were much slower but not stopped. While her arrows had found their chests they had not found their black hearts. Even as Earendel watched the orcs change direction she launched a 5th arrow. then pulled her sword becasue the orc that was not wounded would be on her in moments. She also was well aware that the wounded ones would want to take her out above all others. She hoped that her faith in her new compainions was not ill placed because she knew full well that in close quarters she was no macth for four orcs.

ooc- i hope this is ok if not pm me

(Ok I'm not sure how many orcs are alive, but I'll say three)
Fae smiled weakly, "Sorry..." Her blade left its sheath and found its mark with a sharp stab upwards. The orc fell to the ground, its sword falling. Three orcs left, she thought. Earendel looked slightly worried, but dodged and parried with skill. Fae yelled for her horse, after remobving her swrod. As it turned out, Jared was already on his way, and Fae ran to him and jumped onto his back. "Thanks old boy."

Fae rode forward quickly, and swiftly beheaded a stunned orc. One lashed out at Jared, but he rose up on his hind legs and kicked. The orc fell, winded to the ground.

(Agh! I've been left behind!)

Rynwyn saw the orcs and fell into the grass, using the tall blades as a cloak. Her sword was out and in her hands, but she trembled and couldn't seem to make herself stand up. She saw Fae hurl a poisoned dart and begin her battle, Earendel began to fight and Glorifindle jumped into the fray with a deadly speed.
The girl of Rohan, however, simply lay in the grass, cowering. Now three left, and Fae on horseback. All at once Rynwyn's horse trotted up, having responded to the whinnies of her fellows. The dazzling white mare approached and Rynwyn forced herself to her feet and into the saddle, turning the horse toward where Fae's Jared had just knocked an orc to the ground. She urged the horse onward, holding her sword in a tremblind hand, but the mare had never seen living orcs before and backed up instead, tossing her head and snorting. The winded orc was on its feet, screeching at Fae and brandishing a wicked looking blade.
"Not now!" Rynwyn cried in frustration, trying to coax the frightened mare into galloping, and in the back of her mind she despaired because she knew the murderer had made his escape.

After side stepping the first swing of the orc Earendel struck a deadly up cut with all her might. The blade just missed its chest but her stance made it curve straight for the things neck. While the orc wasnt quit decapitated it would not move agian. except may to fall on her if she did not back up fast enough. So Earendel backed up with all hast. As it fell she was checking the others. With the speed of Glorfindel she was confident that the 2 wounded ocrs near him would be no problem for him after all he ahd been going after the first one of his 2 even as she shoot at it. That only left these...With Fea having beheaded one that left only one in this area.. She saw the girl Rynwym fighting with horse...But that ment that the orc was no longer worried about her so not wishing to let the young one get hurt seh ran up behind the orc and quickly looped off its head. Only after all the orcs near her were dead did she spare a moment to look back at Glordinel to make sure he had finished the other 2 off...

(ooc- will let you post on your fight when you are ready)

It was only now that Earendel realised that she first orc she killed had in truth cut her arm deeply as he feel. OH shit !! SHe called "Hyldo here"...The mare came slowly forward. At the mares slow pace Earendel became frustrated. And yelled "Hyldo here now. These are dead andIi would rather not jion them. I need my herbs to clean this wound"
Then as an after thought Eardendel asked "was anyone else cut or hurt by them in any way" She was concerned about her arm... not becasue of the pain or the blood but because of fear of poisin. While she waited impatienly for Hyldo she cleaned the blood off her sword akwardly...

ooc I stop for while now let averyone catch up-

((arrgh! MUST CATCH UP!!!))

Arien whirled and beheaded an orc with her longsword, then whistled for Kira and the large mare galloped to Arien with all speed.

Arien mounted as soon as Kira was at her side, and cantered around two of the orcs, and glared at them fiercely, then proceeded to cut them down from the back of her chestnut warhorse.

She looked over to find her friends, and wheeled Kira to face them as she wiped her sword and sheathed it once again. She looked for the murderer then looked over at Glorfindel with a look of "What now?" on her face, as he was the one who had come up with the plan.

What now?
That was just it, would could they do now? The distraction of the Orc attack had made them lose sight of the killer, and the fight had eradicated the delicate tracks made by. By now he would have reached the settlement had would have vanished into the streets and alleyways.

"I will tend Earendel's wound," he replied, "Pray, hold still friend, and this will hurt a lot."

First of all Glorfindel pulled the edges of the wound back, then taking a silver flask from his belt, he poured it's clear, sweet scented contents into the gash. He felt Earendel wince, but that was natural. Finally he removed some badages from his pack and bound the injury tightly, so to make sure that it would heal properly.

"I have cleaned the wound and cleansed it.If there was any poison present it would not have had time to sink in, for the cut is not deep. But you will have to be gentle with it, and I will have to change the dressing daily to ensure that it will heal and leave no scar."

Rising to his feet, and extending his hand to help Earendel up. Then he whistled for Lechend to come to him.

"Alas, the trail is gone, the fight has removed all trace of his oringinal path. But I guess that he makes for the settlement yonder, I would advise that we press on immediatly to there, if we are to have any chance of catching him. Are any of you familiar with that village?"

Earendel took Glorfindel's hand and got up. She smilled slightly, " I have enough medical skills to handle dressing changes bot not so much as to be sure how to deal with orc posion. Thank you much. If this is the village I think it is I have have been hear a few times and I suspect that the 2 who live even closer they may well have been here even more often then that. They are honerable and respectable poeple here and have to the best of my memory at least 2 doz of their men in the Rohim. That may be the one thing that may help us. The last time I was here they were honoring a fallen warroir. They take great pride their soldiers" With that she walked toward the village. As she walked she called "come Hyldo" now that she was a little farther away from the dead orcs the mare happliy trotted up to her nuzzling her neck

After walking for maybe a minute Earendel phased glancing at her companions. Then spoke quietly "It may be best if myself and the others who speek the langauge of Rohon do the majority of the talking." After which she deftly rearranges her hair to make sure that there no sign her ears is showing.
Then resumes walking.

After all of the orcs were dead and Earendal's wound was tended, Rynwyn sat in the saddle and said nothing. She was ashamed of her cowardice and irritated with her horse, and she had no desire to speak to any of her companions. What if one of them had been killed when she could have saved them? The girl had never felt so low.
Her horse, now calm, followed the others as they went. Earendals explaination on the village she sighed and urged lightfoot at a quicker pace.
I spoke mightily when standing over Reothed's ruined body, but when the time came my words meant nothing. I feel like such a fool...
The young woman of Rohan only hoped that Fae could forgive her fear and that the others would forget it.

"It was nothing Earendel, and I'm sure that you would have done to same for me, given the chance. I do also agree, come let us decend into the village to seek news of our quarry."

As he made to mount Lechend and follow his companians, he saw the look on Rynwyn's face. As she passed him by he spoke quietly to her.

"Pray Rynwyn stay a minute," and calling to the others, "Go on we shall catch up."

He then turned to face Rynwyn and taking he hand, he spoke to her.

"Do not feel ashamed because of your fear. You are perfectly within your right to be afraid, and considering the situtation we are in there is just cause. Please do not consider it as cowardice, nor feel that you are alone in your feelings. We are tracking a dangerous assasain, who killed your friend in cold blood, to be honest that very thought of that scares me. Fear is natural, we all are afraid, it's part of who we are. And let us not forget your actions already, to come through, what we have seen so far requires no small measure of courage, and you have shown that you have more than enough for this venture. I have known many Elves and warriors of the Edain, who could not have done what you are doing. Your a valiant and courageous woman Rynwyn, and I'm proud to be your friend."

At this he squeezed her hand reassuringly and smiled.

"Now come on," Glorfindel said, "Let's go, we've got a good man's honour to avenge."

Fae rode at the front, as Jared eyed his surrounding with curriosity. She sat tall in the saddle, and held the reins tight. "Soon brother, soon." She said quietly to the sky. The hate she felt was unbarable, but she simply stared straight ahead, and kicked her stallion into a trot.

**************************
"Hanmel, why is the assasin not back yet? You said she would return once the boy was dead."

Ismale glowered in the darkness as Hanmel stumbled over his words. "Well, maybe, maybe some orcs gave her trouble, or maybe she had trouble f-finding the boy, I'm sure, she she must, I'm sure he's dead. She seemed very capable, and besides, why would she not come back, she needs her pay."

Ismale nodded, but kept the same dark frown on his face. "He had better be dead."

(Hope that's ok, thought it might be cool to add the bad guys.)

Arien touched her heels to Kira's sides, urging the mare gently into a slow canter. Thoughts filled the knightess' head, and she couldn't help but think of her own brother the whole time the company had been fighting the small orc band. Bad memories had come to her head, ones that could not be forgotten, nor shoved to the back of her mind.

She held the reins lightly, hands relaxed, as she manuvered Kira in a tight circle, for the mare was beginning to get excited as they neared the village. Arien took a deep breath and let it out slowly, the morning air refreshing her. She had removed her helm and tucked it away safely inside her saddlebag, for she had no need for it. She didn't usually wear the helmet, but it was good to have it at hand, just in case.

"Someday soon, big brother..." muttered Arien under her breath, "...that day at Osgiliath was not our last meeting."
Kira perked her ears up at the soft tone of her rider's voice, and nickered softly, turning her head back slightly.

"I'm fine, Kira, m'girl..." said Arien, smiling at the mare's gentle nickering, "...just...reminiscing." She had now remembered the wonderful days of doing absolutely nothing with her brother...just...talking. She felt much more uplifted when these thoughts entered her, and more ready to help avenge the man Fae and Rynwyn had lost...

Arien felt she wanted to talk to Fae...to try and help...

She urged Kira up into a slow canter again and jogged easily beside Fae, finding the words...

"We never really lose anyone..." she began gently, "...they always stay right in here." she said, touching a gauntleted hand to her armor where her heart would be, "Just wanted to try and help...not sure if I was any help at all, really...but I thought it was worth a try." said Arien gently, now silent after she spoke.

He then turned to face Rynwyn and taking he hand, he spoke to her.

"Do not feel ashamed because of your fear. You are perfectly within your right to be afraid, and considering the situtation we are in there is just cause. At this he squeezed her hand reassuringly and smiled.

"Now come on," Glorfindel said, "Let's go, we've got a good man's honour to avenge."

Rynwyn's heart was uplifted by the elf's words. He had been through countless ordeals much harder than the one she had faced- there was no doubt he knew what he spoke of. She said a soft thankyou to him, squeezing his hand in return and shifting in the saddle as they moved on. As the group moved she noticed Arien riding to Fae's side and offering comfort.
She overheard the woman's words...
"We never really lose anyone..." she began gently, "...they always stay right in here." she said, touching a gauntleted hand to her armor where her heart would be
Ryn felt herself near tears again but pushed them back.
His memory will always be with us, yes, but he can never be with us again. His laughter is stilled forever. she thought, and the anger that had sent her out on this quest in the beginning begin to spark once more.
"Glorifindle," she said, looking over to him. "How will we find the assassin once we reach this village?"

Arien fell back and rode alone again. She fell back all the way to the back of the group, then rode up beside Glorfindel and Rynwyn.

"The...the two reasons I offer comfort to you and to Fae..." she said, "...is that one: You two are now friends of mine, and two: I...I-I lost my brother, Ren...and my parents...at Osgiliath, when orcs attacked there.......so I understand perfectly the pain you two feel..." she ended as she veered Kira off to let Rynwyn and Glorfindel discuss matters of capturing the killer.

While Glorfindel and Rynwyn were discusing capturing the killer Earendel went over in her mind all teh details of all of her visites here. She was aware of some differences between here and were she had been calling home for the last century... She also had one or two people woth whom she had a true bond. If there was anything to go on in tracking the killer they might be able to help...

She realised that wasnt the only concern here... The poeple of this village are proud and tend to be closed mouthed when they have too look up at poeple on horse back the only exception to this rule she had ever witnessed was to member of the Rohirim. There are none in this party even with our purpose it would not be wise to ride through the village on horse back and expect to get anywhere. The was the primary reason she had set out walking and still was. She senced some of the other were wanting to move faster but this would have to be brought up the sooner the better. Up to this point Glorfindel had been taking charge of things but if he was not old of this he might not realise and cause us problems.
so Earendel moved over to walk beside Glorfidel and spoke "if I may have a few words."

" I am sure that not one here wishes to cause our mission problems but if we ride into this town it is very unlikley we will get any help. The sad fact of the matter is that most of these poeple do not much care to look up at poeple when they are talking to them. I suggest that all of us walk our horses." She saw that the group was only a hundred yards from the village. She continued to walk...and waited...

(Sorry been busy, *runs to catch up)

Fae looked across at the gondorian. She spoke softly, and her words inspired Fae. She opened her mouth slightly as if to say something, but only managed a short. "Thank you." As the knightess fell back, Fae fell silent once more, but only in thought.

The red headed rohirim hapened to over hear Earandel's words. "Aye, I have been here before." She called softly. "We can dismount soon, but I would prefer to tie old Jared up, incase something...happens." She added thoughtfully.

As the group neared the town, Fae got off of her brown stallion. He snorted happily, but claimed a look of annoyance when she tied him to the fence. "You'll be fine, the rope is long, and the grass is green here boy." Fae patted his head and followed the others into the town.

((Sorry I've not been writting so much - I had several coursework deadlines and a performance yesterday, so I've been very busy, and twice as stressed. Hopefully I'll be able to post more regularly from now on!))

Brenna found it easy to slip into the market day crowd, even though she was uneasy about doing so, and she had soon stolen a hat from someone, and was milling around, looking for someone who would be able to provide her with what she needed for a new bow - and new arrows too, now. To ease her impatience she tried playing with her hair; a movement she had picked up as a child and now often used.

Brenna realised she was getting nowhere where she was - even now she was skirting round the outside of the crowd, and took a deep breath, before fully imerging herself in the press of people. She tried not to physically blanch at the assult to her senses, and managed to carry on. Soon she found a stall with the fletchings and piles she needed, but she could find no source of suitable wood for either a bow or arrows.

Eventually she gave up in disgust, and left the crowd. Brenna wandered for a little while, debating what was to be her next move.

Sitting silently a top Lechend, Glorfindel pondered what to do next.

"Rynwyn, this is in truth the final part I can aid you in, for once we have captured him then it will be up to you on how to deal with him. It would not be right of my to judge him for you. But I will be honest here, there is very little hope of finding him in a settlement of this size, given our limited knowledge. He is likely to already be covering his tracks, and thus will try to disappear."

The wieght of his own words seemed to crush his spirit. However, as is common in Middle-earth fate provides an answer to a problem.

Earendel approached and spoke, " I am sure that not one here wishes to cause our mission problems but if we ride into this town it is very unlikley we will get any help. The sad fact of the matter is that most of these poeple do not much care to look up at poeple when they are talking to them. I suggest that all of us walk our horses."

"Your quite right Earendel, these people will not willingly help us, and forceful approach will only alert him to our presence and intent. So I would council a different approach, let Rynwyn and Fae go to the village to find out what they can. They will be less on conspicious than two Elven warriors and a Knight of Gondor. In the mean while the rest of us withdraw to a safe distance, and corden off this village, nothing gets in and nothing gets out without us knowing. If we lay a net this our slippery little fish will not be able to slip through it."

Ryn sighed at Glorifindle's words. She was not the type to lead and had been comfortable with him taking charge of the situation. He was right, however; the decision of how to deal with the murderer couldn't fall on his shoulders. But for she and Fae to go into the village and locate the assassin without any aid? She didn't know if she would be able to do it...
"Very well," she said as they came near to the village gates. Dismounting, she offered Lightfoot's reins up to the elf.

(is this where they all are? I have no clue..."

Earendel spole quitely "Glorfindel have you no clue to help in identifying the one we seek?"

"Fae and ryn if you have no close contact in this village I will go in. There is a very observant elder lady here who has asked for me to call her 'mother Faeger'(( the word mother was spoken softly in the tongue of Rohan, I had no luck finding it in any source, sorry))... she will be able to point out strangers and new comers. I dearly hope our killer does not live here. What I was able to observe was only build and hair color which will not be of much help."
ooc- that seems logical at a 100 yards..(biuld- size realative to grass walking in)in other word I know we are not searching for a gaint person...

((sorry i haven't posted in a while...had to catch up on some homework!))

Arien dismounted Kira as she strode after the others. She'd left her helmet off and got a few odd looks from several of the villagers.

'As if they haven't seen a female knight before..' Arien thought, laughing softly to herself.

Kira snorted in protest as Arien tied her with her companions' horses and gave the mare just enough slack on the reins to be able to graze.

She then walked to Rynwyn, Earendel, Fae and Glorfindel, listening to the plan...

((sorry it's so short!))

(Yeah we're all there, as far as I can tell.)

"Well Earendel, I have something that maybe of help in this matter, although it may seem trival. Our killer has no footwear, not even a pair of light shoes, such as Silvian Elves are accotumed to use. Now his, choice to abandon boots may have made him easier to track on the plains, but here it will some him up. But there is another item, now I have had a chance to view the trail on favourable ground, for it can be seen but a little way ahead, I am not so sure that we are looking for a he. The imprints are too slender, light for any man, of any height or build, but the right scale for a human female of Rynwyn's size and stature. A strange woman in town will be easier to spot than a man, and maybe Earendel if you could speak to your contact, we may have some luck. But all three of you, beware, this person will be making every effort not to be found, and will go to any length to prevent discovery. So mind who you talk to. That is all I can say on the matter, but in the mean while, myself and Arien will corden off the village."

Then his expression softened, "I'm sorry to be ordering you all about like this, I have no intention of over-stepping my boundries."

"If you need help just call, I'll come, with the horses. Oh, and Fae, pay attention to a red ribbon on the right wrist, I recall that to be the symbol used by Teleri huntsman to mark their trade, calling card of sorts. Good luck."

Earendel spoke quitely " I know glorfidel you would like for us to leave hourse out here. There Hyldo is as well liked here as I am by some of those that I know. Her not being with me would raise much suspsion and that is the last thing to do taday" With that Earendel loosely wraped Hyldo's rein around her arm and was reminded of her injury and cahnged arms. then she realised that her shirt sleeve was wuite bloody so she quickly drew her small knife and proceded to start cutting her shirt. Muttering" all this blood will not be a good thing to show here" there was a pause as she reached a point where she could not cut the material with the good arm. "Glorfidel can you help me out here for a second" and passed the knife to him hilt first.
ooc- hope minor borrowing of Glorfindel doent bother you sorry... limited posts is a pain.
Glorfindel did as asked and returned blade in same fashion.

ooc- will make no comment on the others entering village they can deside weather they are here or else where as they see fit.

"Thank you" and Earendel walked calmly into the village.
In the first' block' of the market there were 2 greeting exchanged but nothing further. On the second 'block' There was another greet. Then a small way further on there was A call "Earendel my sweet" to which Earendel replied "you old dog you I would have thought the gaurd would have hauled you away now for some thing". After which the two of them exchanged the normal signs of a freindly greeting (( drawing blank today but I think that should help )) After the two exchanged some pleasantries the man suddenly said"dont you think it is time to settle down after all I could use a wife" earendel's repsonse was equally at easy "dont you think it is a little soon after all he hasnt even been death a full month yet" followed by a chuckle. Man's response "Not at all after all you didnt marry him plus id make a better husband im not riding off every day" he was also chuckling. "You never do give up do you old freind" at which Earendel hugged him quickly. "hey are you going to be in town at lunch time i'll be more then happy to share my table with you." Earendel smiled "I dont know long I will be." Her voice became even quieter so wanted to be sure no one else heard her. For the most part the pople would assume it was a trist that was being talked about. Not talk she usually encouaged but today with the mission.."my old freind I am looking for someone. She will be a new comer to town and will most likely be barefooted. It is most important if you see her dont tell her anyone is looking for her it is ment to be a surprise. Something special for her but she may well be embarrassed and leave town without meeting if she realises that I made it here..."earendel paused for it to sink in "please old freind keep your eyes open and let me know if you see her." The man thought several seconds. Then spole equally quietly"have not seen any new females but those two fron the last village over" Earendel shook her head "no my freind those 2 are with me today" The man noded his head. "Where are you going from here". "Most likely to see mother Faeger" was the replie. At which he chuckled "yeah she is near the edge of the settlement and very little happens her that she is not aware of"
As Earendel walked down the street she found herself looking down at feet often. AS she walked on there was an odd greeting called out all of which were answered calmly.

At last 2 stalls from the end of the settlement the long a waited call came "Earendel Hyldo I have missed you two much!" A small but sharp elder woman came forward and hugged Earendel while giving Hyldo a peice of carrot behind her back. Earendel spoke"mother Faeger I have missed you as well" and she chuckled. "you still like to give Hyldo her treats" the response was as always"of course someone has to take notice of the gentle creature" at which she rubs Hyldo's nose and neck. After which she says"come little one letus sit and talk" Earendelknew from experince that to argue with her would only drag the talk on through everything that had happen her inthe last month and that could take an hour or 2 which she did not have so she said" of course mother dear" And went back to were her hostess had started from. In this fasion the events of the village were covered in about 10 minutes even that long was enough to make Earendel worry. At last the older looking woman said "enough about me and this out of the way place what have you been up to. For I can plainly see that you have in fact been recently injured some how. Why dont you tell me about that first" Earendel knew she was observant but this was a bit of a surprise to her that she would notice the badage she had keep her arm down and had not seen the woman look down. "You are right the injury was recent in happened just after dawn this morning not a quarter mile out of town. Me and some new freinds were attacked by orcs" at which point the elder interupted"orcs only a quarter mile from here near dawn this morning"followed by a stern "are you sure there is no poison in it"
Eardendel smiled" fear not mother all the orcs are dead now and there was a traveler with us who is well schooled in healing so it was treated to be sure no poision would linger"
There was a sigh from the elderly woman. Then her brow turned into a frown "how come you were out of town just a quarter mile at dawn you should have came into town last night you silly girl you know you can always sleep at my house."
Now it was Earendel turn to sigh.. "if we had been at sunset last night I would have." Her voice dropped off and she looked around there was no one within earshot so she continued"We had infact been traveling through the night. I must ask you some thing dear old freind have you seen any barefooted female strangers about"
She thought carefully"yes a couple of hours ago a female I do not remember seeing before came up and looked at some of my arrowmaking supplies. As she walked away I remember thinking to myself why is that foolish girl looking at arrow making supplys when she had no shoes"
Earendels heart almost stopped at the words. "Mother Feager dear would you know this one if you saw her again" a touch of excitment touching her voice.
To which the elderly woman responded with a chuckle "of course my child but the big question is why do you seek her she looked quite harmless to me?"

ooc- I think that is pushing things far enough for one post Now I will let other catch upI dont want to take over the thread if it fells like I did Im sorry..

"Thank you." Ryn said, and she followed Earendel as she entered the village. Rynwyn walked behind the elf for some time and watched her greeting an old friend, then noticed a man in an allyway looking at her strangly. At first she turned and ignored him, but something in the back of her mind made her take a second look. Sighing and gripping her sword hilt, just in case, she turned from behing Earendel and went down the ally.
"Mister..." she started, and a crude burp from the man interupted her. She stepped back and tried not to gag, then cleared her throat.
"Sir, I'm looking for a girl-er-young woman... she's probably carrying a quiver and bow... and she was wearing no shoes."
The man opened his mouth as if to say something, then shook his head and held his hands over the small fire.
"Nope- dunno nothin' 'bout that, miss."
"If you know something please tell me!" She stepped forward and kneeled down to his level, and he sighed.
"Sorry, miss. I'm sworn to secrecy."
He held up a hand and in it were several coins. Rynwyn stood and backed away, cursing in a very unladylike manner. He obviously knew something of the assassin, but had been bribed into silence.
It isnt right! Its just not fair!
Anger boiled up in her again, and she whipped the sword out of its scabbard, holding it with the tip pointed to the mans throat. He gulped and scrambled to his feet, hand going for the knife at his belt.
"Don't!" she barked, surprised at the command in her own voice. He put both hands up, then. She pressed the blade closer, trying to keep her own hands from trembling.
"I'm sorry, miss! I did see a lady- came in and changed into a white dress! Paid me to say I didn't see her! Didn't think she was anything special!"
Letting out the breath she'd been holding, Rynwyn stepped away and dropped the sword. Blinking a few times, she nodded at the man.
"Thank you."
Turning, she ran out into the crowded street and searched for her companions- she had to tell them what she had heard!

(Sorry, jeez this is going fast! I just got braces and am feeling like shi- not so good. )

Fae followed Ryn shortly after, and kept her sword hidden. She blended right in, as she was the perfect dipiction of a rohhirim. She turned as she saw Ryn run into an alley. She came out shortly and ran in the opposite direction. Fae, her curiosity getting the best of her, walked into the alley. There was a dirty man, sitting on the ground, and still looking shocked. His bloodshot eyes were wide and he stared up at Fae. "Oh no! Not a nother one! It was just a lady, she changed into a dress and thank your friend for me she tried to kill me!" The mess of words tumbled out quickly, and Fae had a great difficulty picking up what he was saying. "Oh, here a coin for your hardships." She said rather sarcasticaly and flipped a copper peice in his general direction as she grabbed Ryn's sword and ran out into the square.

Brenna sauntered through the streets, confident that she would have lost anyone who had been following her by now. She knew that she aught to be moving on - she was supposed to be meeting those who had hired her before sunset tomorrow, and it would take her a full days walk to get there, but she didn't want to start off. Brenna found herself close to a set of stables, and started to look over the horses, causually wondering which would be the best.

A voice out of his mind troubled Glorfindel's consicious.

Why look you so down Glorfindel?

Sighing he replied, he knew this, he'd seen it before, and he'd hoped he wouldn't see it again.

I am troubled, mother.

You should not be, I have every belief that you will succeed.

I cannot help but feel that I should not be involved, that this is not my buisness.

What you are doing for these women is a gesture of kindness and compassion, you should be proud. I know your father would be.

It's not just that. I...

I know you care for her, I sense your feelings, but I warn you, they will cloud your judgement. You have to remember your place.

What would you have me do?

Do what you promised, help them bring this woman to answer for her crimes. I percieve some greater event behind this, that you must solve, along with your friends.

What do you....?

I know no more than that, but remember your training and you will triumph. Farewell my son.

The mood passed, but something remained, he knew what he had to do. He immediatly dismounted from Lechend. Turning to Arien he said, "Stay with the horses I'll be back."

And without another word he turned and set off through the long grass, heading northeastwards.
