Thanks, Swabby. I'll keep them from storming the walls of Minas Swabby...at least for another seven days.

The algebra books would definitely scare away my orklings. Algebra tends to be the bane of their existence and many of them will be spending time with that same book next year!

I got Howard Shore's "Complete Recordings from FOTR" as part of my end of the year gift to myself. It is truly wonderful and there is enough extra from the film that is not on the soundtrack discs to make it really worthwhile for those of us who are obsessed.

Also got Ringers and I have to say I was not impressed. With all the material out there, I think the documentary filmers could have done a better job. The film is very amateurish; I've seen the documentary done about Star Trek fans---I think it's called Trekkies and it is much better. Ringers is definitely a rental if you haven't seen it.

MTMS, I agree that Ara-baby  needs a vacation and what better place than a moot in Michigan. They probably grew really luscious peaches in Rivendell so he would be just the person to pick out the best ones.

Here's sending jealousy vibes to all my FOF teacher friends who have already started summer vacation...we take just way too much time off at Christmas!!! I want the year to start after Labor Day and end the Friday before Memorial Day...cram those 184 days in there however you need to!!!!

Looks like the DH and I will be doing some whirlwind traveling during the end of June and July. He has to travel to NC for work the last week in June so I am going along and we will visit friends in Raleigh. Then we are heading to Denver the week after the Fourth to visit my sister and spend some time with friends in a timeshare in the Rockies. THAT should be interesting because it is a ski-lodge condo so I'm getting visions of that "Black-out dates" commerical for the credit card where the family is trying to ski and snowmobile in July. Not this shield maiden!!! I'll be taking a woodland walk in hopes of finding a few Rocky Mountain elves or maybe a cave troll or two. Probably can't get Anduril through airport security...another reason driving is more fun.

(Sindy takes deep breath.) Well, wish me luck. Four days this week and three exam days to go. The temperature has soared into the upper eighties so the orklings will be cranky and complaining about the heat (no AC for us!). Should be some thunderstorms later in the week but then the orklings end up smelling like wet wargs which is definitely an improvement over their usual AXE mingled with over-used athletic shoes!

This is the time of year when I have to paraphrase the Cowardly Lion:

"I love my job! I do, I do, I do! I do love my job!"

Keep saying it, Sindy. Maybe you'll start believing it again.

Hi everyone.

swabby: loved the poem. I've kept it and will print it to put on my wall. I will put it with my collection of posters. It does wonders for all of us FoF. We need to stick together.

Morwin, awelyn: Thanks for the tips. I realized that I sweated so much that day that my body was lacking salt. I ate some very salty chips and got rid of the headache. I was able to relax and have a good nights rest. It's the way my body reacts to certain things.

It will be different not working nights. Tonight was really weird. I got home before the sun went down. But I think I'm ready for someone to take the reins and take over the nights. I need a break. This young girl will work out nicely.

It's my day off tomorrow and I'm sleeping in. I have to work early on Wednesday so I better rest up.

Anyways, I better go and rest. I'm going to put up my feet and listen to LOTR cd's and read a book.

See you all on the flip side.

MTMS, You have fun in Michigan at your moot and think of us who can't go and remember we want details girl.

Sindy, I love NC especially the outer banks it is such a lovely place. I love lighthouses and they have so many so that was a wonderful place to vacation for me. I have vacationed in Colorado too. Salada, in the mountains. I could see snow capped mountains in the hot tub outside it was fantastic. I am a bird watcher and the humming birds were beautiful in Colorado.

HT what a poet you are and now Swabby won't feel left out.

Swabby, I am amazed at how quickly you can come up with a rhyme. Happy Memorial day to you and OTB and was it Rose or Belle that was in the Navy? Sorry I am having a menopausal moment Whoever it was Happy Memorial day.

Quick hi here. I've been lurking but not had much to contribute, so for a change kept my mouth shut. LOL

The spousal unit and I went to see The Da Vinci Code tonight. It was pretty good. Now, of course I have read the book a couple of times...the spousal unit--NOT. He kept up pretty well though. He even said he liked it when I asked on our way home. Having a son with at least two chevrons on his arm (he's an E-5--so whatever that equates to with chevrons), he went "Oooohhhh! That makes sense!" when that part came up. LOL It's more an intellectual movie than an action film. Maybe that's why the critics panned it. Who knows? I tend to like the movies that the critics don't anyway. Oh, well.

Take good care all.

Hmmm wondering who was in the Navy I was Chaplin USMC,
out of El Toro !st Sq. Pac. was a Captain most of the time then
when my CO retired so I left as a Major...
T' was along time ago and I keep from the beer and bars tot many memories...

Took a long walk today 12 miles so I updated my miles on the shield page
I've 102 now...
I noticed there is a place to record bike miles too so Swabby could always
record the miles he does on his steel stead that is if he cared to join the
shieldmaidens in the fields...

Ah but I dream as my bike is electric and doesn't go faster then 25mph...
not fast enough for a ranger I'm sure....

Sigh I'm off to bed now have classes tomorrow...

Hope everyones week goes well [especially those at hospital]...

Balrog it sounds like you have everything in hand. I almost had a heat stroke from sweating out my salt and not having drank enough water one day. I had an exercise trainer that my mom had paid for and she was so concerned by the way I looked and felt. I started to get a headache then I got light headed and sick at my stomach and started to faint. The trainer made me sit down and drink water and she followed me home. My doctor said I was very lucky. My trainer said she knew something was wrong when she looked at me and I was not sweating a drop. So, you take care Balrog.

Scots glad you are back and how was your visit with Brandywine?
I bet you are working like a fiend to get your kitchen cabinets finished or maybe you are adjusting to sumer vacation and then finishing them. Have a good day.

Vicarcat you must be in good shape. I think I made a mistake when I tried to sign up for that because I never got the mileage chart to chart the miles. I need to go back and check. Good luck with your classes.

I apologise for the poorly-worded poem I wrote you yesterday, Sindy. I was in such A rush to quell your wrath and not be deluged with teenage orklings that I---well, you know. I knew about the algebra books because my own 14yo has had fits with that subject this year.

In A prarie house on A vast plain
lives A teacher, and Scots is her name
although she started when the earth was young,
I doubt that she'll ever get her cabinets done

Vicarcat, if you'll let me pull that bike of yours with my motorcycle, I'll guarantee you can go A lot faster than 25 mph. Remember the "Flying Nun"? Weeeee!

Balrog, I'm glad you liked my poem about you, even though it was so short.

Awelyn, you'd better drink more water or I'll put you on sea duty! Swabby

Sea duty, awelyn? That thought conjures up ideas of sailing ships, foam on the bow and bare-chested men pulling on ropes! Where can I sign on?

Don't know what to do with myself yet. I'm used to be doing about 5 things at once, but this free time is taking me back a step or so. Can't quite seem to get my mind around it yet. I know things will change, as I'll soon be traveling and cherishing the days of not much to do.
What a problem to have!!

Thanks for the Memorial Day wishes! Both swabby and I were in the Navy. I stayed 20 yrs and retired in 1991. I was a Hospital Corpsman (and did a three stint with the USMC at Camp Pendleton). You know I always wanted to go to sea, but even after they opened up ships to women, I could never get a billet. Grrr... Never could make Senior Chief because of it. Dang it!

Ah well, that's all water under the prow. LOL...

On another note, I'm having a lot of stress at work currently. I've just gotten to the point where things have been working out, taking on more responsibilities and now my big boss is moving me and others without more than about five days notice (found out last Friday). No turn over, just go. Enough to drive me mad. I have so many projects that will just be dumped. :banghead: It's enough to make me want to quit. *sigh*

I doubt that she'll ever get her cabinets done

ROFLMSAO!!! There's more truth to that than you know! My goal is to get them done by the end of July. That will be a year since I started on them. I have two of the eight drawers primed and ready to paint tomorrow. I think those will go a lot faster than the doors---which by the way--- are all done and up. Then I just have two sides left of the actual cabinets. So there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I also got my teaching assingment for next year. I will be pulled into the district proper. I'll be teaching 7th grade language arts. That will be reading, spelling, and English. Lots of challenges ahead. It will be very weird to be teaching only one subject with TWO!!--count 'em--TWO!! plan periods a day. That fact alone may cause me to faint. I would have maybe two plan periods a week before, and that was just this last year. All this and a hefty raise. My Cheese has moved in what looks to be a positive direction. Of course, we'll see how I feel a year from now. LOL

I had a lovely visit with Brandywine and Shireling. They are as wonderful in real life as I could have ever hoped. My only regret is that they live so far away. True kindred spirits. I have some great pictures of us, so when I figure out how to get them up on the web, I'll do it.

Take care all!

The orklings were complaining about the heat today as I knew they would. I told them to give it up because there definitely are places that are hotter.

"Where?" the orklings chimed.
"Hell," replied Sindy, the teacher, and continued with the lesson without missing a beat.

I  this time of year!!!!

Although I am a bit premature, I'm finishing up my "Ode to Orklings" poem:

Three days left as an orkling slave
Three days, oh I hope they behave!
Grimy notebooks opened wide
Sharpened pencils clutched by their sides.

Poor orklings shudder and shriek their woe
Seven exams they have to go!
Should have kept the notes we took
Should have read some of those books.

My eyes light up with an Elvish gleam
Studying just wasn't part of their scheme.
My red pen flashes like Sting in battle
The orklings' breaths come in a rattle.

The final bell; a rush for the stairs
A drift of paper floats in the air.
The only sound in the empty halls
Is the echoing of far orklings' calls.

Have a great Wednesday!

Hello to everyone! So many posts to catch up on, but love it. Summertime has definitely arrived along with the heat and humidity but will not complain.

The lake water is still a bit cool for me to brave it. Neighbor children had a small pool and was really tempted to join in with the youngsters, lol! In any case, my 10 yr. old grandson and daughter-in-law are coming for a visit in July and will be swimming in the lake for sure as I'm the only adult swimmer among them.

Swabby, absolutely loved your poetry. Sorry I haven't had a chance to respond sooner! You certainly are multi-talented, very artistic...reminds me of the V-man...a good thing! I've always admired artistic and creative people.

Awelyn, glad you are alright and had someone close to recognize the symptoms that something was wrong. Always feel weird when I sweat so much, but won't complain as guess it is a healthy thing. Anyhow, just thankful you are okay!

MT, thought of you when I was soaking up some sun this weekend. You must be in heaven to have the school year ended and vacation time at hand. Leaves more time for Ranger hunting!

Just lost most of my post, these laptops seem to have a mind of their own...good thing I had copied part way through. Anyhow, hope the stress eases for you with trying jobs...Balrog, Sindy, Belle and anyone I forgot....may you soon be saying (like Samwise) "It's over!"

Waves  to HT, Morwin, Vicarcat and all the FOF! Love and hugs!:heart:

I probably should have told everyone that incident happened 10 yeas ago. When I had a trainer but thanks for all the well wishes I feel loved.

Mith if you lived closer you could jump in my pool with me. I love the pool and it is so relaxing after swimming to just float. Then I will go sit on my deck and read the LOTR book. I love this time of year.

Sindy, I love the poem. Girl you are in the homestretch 3 more days. Then you can relax.

Scots I am so happy for you. It sounds like a great opportunity.
Wow, cabinets and drawers all most finished. You need to celebrate or better send pictures so we on FOF can see them.

No,no not sea duty. I get sea sick big time. Swabby I will be careful and drink plenty of water.

Belle I thought it was you but not certain and sorry you never got to be on sea duty. Sorry about all the stress at work. It makes you not feel appreciated at work when they jerk you around.

A sad but I think good thing happened today. My daughter's fiancee called off the wedding. He needs time to fix his problems. He said and he has issues. He did talk to her on the phone later tonight. He moved out of his mom and dad's house tonight. He said he wants to spend time with the guys and play his music and read. I know he does not want to marry her period. He tells her now he just wants to be friends. He text messaged her to break off the engagement the jerk. My daughter is still hopeful they will get back together after this break. I think he wants to dump her and I feel he would make her life a living hell. So, I am happy about it. It just breaks my heart to watch my daughter hurt so much. I just wish she would wake up.Thanks for letting me vent.

Good shape who(?) me?
If I was in good shape I'd pedal my bike to Minas Swabby and then let him
tow me back to Portland...
Then he'd get to see the Rose Parade and go on the Pirate Ship...
and I'd have Ranger pics to post.

I am just too stuborn to stop walking...
I have to do something when it's hot and I can't sleep...
OK so night walking is dangerous [I carry a big stick and speak softly...]
so I'm safe, that and the Night Elves tend to escort me home after
midnight:blush:...
I still haven't figured which patch of woods they live in but it wouldn't surprise me if it was down past South Waterfront on the way to Tualitin...
It is not polite to ask about such these days thanks to GW Bush.

OK I am off my soapbox.

I really do know better then to talk politics... as I am a certified Tree Hugger.

Replant the World Forest that's what I want!
It would be so much easier to breathe with more trees to shade the
parched lands... and Ranger hunting would be much more fun with all
the shaded pools to rest in... OK so I'm dreaming of Loth-Lorien...
It's all those leather clad Elven Rangers got me going again...
[2 of my last 5 collages for Art 115 had both Rangers and Elves in them].
Well I best get into shape if I want to be noticed by any Rangers at all...
as I am one plump Half-Elf... will send garden pics later...

Sorry about your daughter's pain, awelyn, but better this than being tied to him and longer, more intense pain from a broken marriage. Not to mention the fact if they had children it would include them as well. All you can do is be there for her. She'll find someone else when her heart heals. Someone who will truly value her.

Well, back to the mines of Moria for me. Ugh... Have to beard the proverbial lion in her den today. Don't know if it'll do any good, but I've got to try. None of us who are being moved around are particularly happy with it. *sigh*

Down by Black's Beach, where the nudists run free
lives Shieldmaiden Belle, who loves to say "heh"
She joined the Navy so she could go sailing
but they put her to work at A house for the ailing.

I'm A tree-hugger also, Vicarcat, and I think most of us here are inclined that way. We all love music, literature and nature.
I still refuse to shop at A local Kohl's store because they cut down A bunch of ancient oaks when they built their parking lot. They could have left them there and I don't think anyone would have been bothered by them, but now they're gone.

MT is right, Awelyn. If I put you on sea duty you'd have to put up with all that rocking and rolling and bare-chested men pulling on ropes all the time. (Now Belle, I don't want to hear of you getting dried out just so you can go on sea duty) Being serious now, maybe that situation with your daughter will have A good ending after all.

You're quite A good poet, Sindy, and it is obvious that you know that subject so well. Rattling breath? Now that's intense. Perhaps you can put your poetic talents to use on A more soothing subject this summer while lying in the sun or in the shade of A mallorn tree, do you suppose?

Mith, why is it that every time I remember that scene in King Kong where Naomi Watts is juggling for the big monkey, I see you?

Have A nice day, all you sweet girls! Swabby

LOL... How funny, swabby! Thanks for the poem. The only time I got any sea time was my first tour in Hawaii from '74-'76. During Rim Pac I got to spend a day on the USS Barbey. Their CO had me recording certain saying for such things as unrep and the like. I can't help wondering if my voice continued to be the Barbey's until they decommissioned her. I personally loved the rock and roll of the deck beneath my feet, the tang of salt air, and the smell of diesel fuel. I'm weird, what can I say?

Vicarcat, guess you could classify me as a treehugger as well, given I'm a Druid. I've always loved nature and felt we should live with it, not try to dominate it. Maybe that's why I am so drawn to the Elves. Ya think? LOL

Here's hoping that you'll soon be hearing the orclings cackling fade off into the distance. Freedom is a wonderful thing, and so well deserved by you, sindy. Will you be writing more fanfiction this summer? I certainly hope so!

The water here's been a bit cool here as well, mith. The reports say it's in the 80's, but I don't believe it. Air temp is in the lower to mid-90's. Think I need to head to the beach for some cool sea breeze.

Frankly I feel relieved to hear of the cancelled wedding, awelyn. Something tells me that further heartache and pain will be avoided down the road. It's hard to watch our loved-ones suffer. Daughter knows that you've been there for her and in time, she'll see things more clearly and be glad things worked out this way. Keeping you and her still in prayer.

I'm a tree-hugger as well, vicarcat and a hater of strip malls, swabby. My eldest son, the architect, incorporates "green ideas" into his designs. Sad to say, some of the companies don't want to take the minor cost into consideration. It's all about $. Makes him and me furious!
This wonderful son is the one who's going to design a hobbit house for his mom as well as a Middle earth assisted living facility for her in her old age (whenever THAT comes). Good kid,he is!

Wish you luck bearding the lion, belle. Not a job I desire. The big cats at our local zoo were the most difficult animals to transport while evacuation for the hurricanes. They're very sensitive as well as fierce.
I also love the smell of sea wrack, the sway of the boat in the waves and the call of the gulls. God knew what he was doing when he put me near the beach! (long story there, which I won't go into now)

Thought of you this morning, swabby, when my neighbor cranked up his motorcycle. If I hadn't been asleep, I would've run out the door and jumped on back. I would prefer riding at night instead of early in the morning, though. But beggars can't be choosers.

Think of you balrog, neenime,OTB, scots, HT, brandywine, Rose and morwin ! Wishing each of you a great day!

My husband and I are happy about the wedding being called off but it is just the way the coward did it that puts this mama lion's fur up.
I don't think he ever intended to marry her. I think he proposed to make his x girlfriend jealous. I am furious that he let us buy all the things over three thousand dollars worth of stuff and did not stop us then.

MTMS, what a son you have! I am a tree hugger also. My backyard is full of trees that we have planted. I get so angry with highway construction and the trees that just go by the wayside.

Swabby that is awful about the oaks. Progress sometimes just drives me crazy. I really get seasick. I am ok if I take my pills but even on a gentle ferry my stomach starts to churn.

Belle good luck with your lion. I hope your work situation improves.

Vicarcat, I am to scared to walk at night. We have so many dogs that run loose in my neighborhood. My daughter and I would walk when it was so hot. We would walk with flashlights and walking sticks.I was going to walk this morning but it is raining and thundering. Maybe it will stop and I wil walk later.

Well, I need to go the coffee is calling to me.

Mae govannen, Friends over Forty. What a glorious day to be alive! It's warm without being too hot, the sun is shining, the breeze is gently blowing.

Even though my hip hurts (I sit with an ice pack as I write this), I am in a happy place. Our sacred dance recital was a smash yesterday. Everything ran like clockwork, the dancers were incredibly beautiful as they moved, the kids were sweet, the church choir rocked and the audience just loved it. I am relieved but also very satisfied. The spirit in our group is very loving and positive. Everyone encourages everyone else and there are no prima donnas.

My dancers gave me a wonderful card and a gift. They loved the dance that I taught them (oh they looked so beautiful!) and want me to create another one. It was amazing to see them walk out on stage, heads covered in colourful shawl, long skirts swirling -looking like Mystery personified. The reminded me of Black Madonnas (no, not an african-American version of that wild woman).
A great expereince. But next year I need to dance again! I missed performing.

Awelyn good news, even though poorly delivered. I hope that your daughter will get over this and see the light. I know that your support and love will help her.

Balrog glad you're feelign better. This is going to be ahot summer, so we need ot be really careful about heat and water.

MT, Sindy, Belle, vicarcat

And greetings to Rose, HT, OTB, Scots, Mith, Callë, Morwenna, brandywine, Morwin, Faramirgirl. Hope you're all well.

Has anyone heard from Magoleth ?

Hi everyone

Awelyn

Sorry you spent all that money but at least you are not losing your daughter to that jerk and that is priceless - I am sure she will come around and it is great you are there for her.

I am sure all you teachers will be very glad to get a break from the orklings - enjoy your vacations you have earned them!

Love to everyone especially those who haven't popped in for a while - anyone know where Old Tom is?

Hugs and kisses

Sorry, dear ! Can you ever forgive me?

BTW, Belle at 19 pages, are we getting close to FOF - The Next Generation?

Put me on the list as certifiable...certifiable tree-hugger that is. You should see our yard. Plant material everywhere. We have about half and acre here on the PoG. The spousal unit just wishes we had less house and more yard. If I figure it out, I'll post a picture of it. He's done quite the job on it. Gotta love that guy.

If and when the kitchen cabinets get done, I'll post that too. I'm determined to have them done by the end of July or perish in the attempt.

Awelyn, I will concur with the group on the situation with your daughter. It's better to be hurt now than the mess it would have been later on. And he TEXT MESSAGED her to break it off? What a jerk! And a coward to boot. That is SO high school! Her heart will mend and find someone more worthy to hold it in his hands and cherish it for what it is. Until then, good thoughts are being sent her way.

Awelyn, it is good news that your daughter's fiance broke it off before he caused her any more pain. He showed his immature quality by ending it the way he did! It is difficult to watch your children suffer any kind of pain, but hopefully it will help her grow and be stronger as a result. I sure would love to go in the pool with you. Think I would be living in it with this heat. And it is a wonderful way to exercise without straining anything.

I'm a tree lover as well. It is sad too many care more about $$'s than protecting the environment. And cutting down precious oak trees...well lets send the ents after 'em!

Swabby, that is funny how you think of me during that King Kong scene. I'm married to a monkey lover...he keeps saying he wants one...maybe it's the juggling bananas that brought us together, lol!

A hobbit house, MT? That is awesome, what a great son! By the way, wanted to ask you some things about the Michigan trip, will try to call you tomorrow. This week is just going so fast but summertime always seems to fly by.

Elven Rangers, Vicarcat? Ummm, gets me dreaming there.:heart:

Well off to watch ROTK so will see my favorite ranger so lifelike on the big screen. Will try not to drool in front of hubby although he's quite aware and acceptive of my obsession.

Ok first thought:
Tree Huggers Unite!

Second thought:
Pray for Awelyn and Family!

Third thought:
Cat get off of the Soap Box!

Sigh, it is raining here and we had to spend 2 hours outside while the
bugbomb worked its majic on the bed-bugs...
Minky upon returning to the apartment has sprawled out on the floor near
my chair... she is staking out her turf I'm sure...
I will be off to nightwatch shortly... so I will get 2 miles in walking going
there and back rain or no rain...

Druids, Elves, Priests, along with Rangers, Sailors, and Shield-maidens. sounds to me like the crew at Rivendell... course I could be wrong but the Teleri were related to Sindarin and Noldor last time I read Elven history...

I had a dream the other night where I was sitting in the Willow Room at Imladris crying as I read the history of Bielerland...
I suppose it's because Nan Tesarine is 30 fathoms below sea-level...
rather like the west end of Cornwall...
Ah well at least Portland is a good 100 feet above sea-level and 50 miles
inland so we shouldn't slide into the Pacific Ocean too soon...

Hope everyones week goes well!

Orkling herders -I am happy for you that your days of toil are numbered. Hang in there.

Tree-huggers? yup -definitely one of those. I don't even like to prune them, 'cuz it seems that I am hruting them. I don't even throw away over-grown perennials. Instead, I try to find some unobtrusive spot to let them keep growing.

Oh, we've got it bad here!

Bug-bombs? You folks in southern climes do this often do you? Evacuate the house and fumigate? Is it a regular ritual or a "treatment" for bug problems. It's rare up here in Arnor. In fact, I don't think I know anyone north of the 49th parallel that has ever had this done.

Thank you everybody. My daughter is strong and will get through it but she is now making excuses for the guy. She is rationalizing all of it. I just am so frustrated that she can't see the truth. My only hope is that he will be true to form and there will be another girl some where in the picture. I talked to his step-mother yesterday and I found out he lied about so many things. He needs counseling and meds. The poor woman is beside herself with worry for her son.

Vicar cat you had bedbugs? My mom-in-law had those once, she had bought a used twin bed set from a flea market. She had to spray and leave the mattress outside in sunshine. I use to tell my kids before I put them to bed sleep tight don't let the bed bugs bite but you don't really think real bugs. I hope you get rid of them. I walked yesterday only half a mile but it is a start.

Scots I have confidence in you. I know you will finish the cabinets.

Mith, I know everything will eventually work out. I I have been exercising in my pool. The doctor told my husband as part of his recovery he wants him to swim . It will help his knees. That is fine with me.
Have a good day,Swabby,Neenime,Where is Mag? Belle,OTB,Calle,,Brandywine,HT,Rose,Balrog and if I left anyone out I am sorry.

Although Oregon is south of you, Neenime, it is quite A bit north of where I live. I suppose you could have problems with certain kinds of bugs about anywhere, but I have observed that the southern US is much buggier than the northern parts. When I was stationed on an island out in the Puget Sound (NAS Whidbey Island, Wa) I noticed that there were very few bugs and no snakes at all. When I lived in South Texas, on or near the Gulf, we had gobs of giant cockroaches, scorpions, silverfish, fire ants, etc. We also had lots of snakes and alligators, too. Florida was much the same.

Orkling herder sure has an interesting ring to it.

I'm not an orkling herder, or an orkling herder's son.
but I'll herd your orklings 'till the orkling herder comes.

A tree I hugged, I hugged A tree
then waited all day for it to hug me

How do you make A bug-bomb? I like to use A cup each of salt peter and sulfur to one pound of bugs. Pour the mixture into A giant clay urn and have your least-favorite orc run into the culbert and then set his torch to it.

I guess that's enough silliness from me. Swabby

Awelyn, I'll have to say that I too am relieved for your daughter's engagement breaking up, although I'm also sorry for the heartache the whole thing caused her. In the long run, this was definitely the better option.

For all you teachers here, I'm not one, but the end of the school year is keeping me busy as well - the end-term celebrations of especially the younger one's class. So, I'll probably won't be around until late on Saturday evening or on Sunday.

 to everybody - tomorrow, it's Friday already!

The man who has squirrel bite owies is now conjuring up recipes for bug bombs. Sounding like you're a "wizard gone wild", swabby!
You are not kidding about the insect population down south, my wizardly friend. We got 'em and we got 'em big and bad. We call the roaches at school the "walking tall" species. They stand about an inch off the ground and are anywhere to 2-3 inches long and hard to kill. I think they laugh when the bug man comes to spray.

I love the warm weather but I hate it that I can't spend much time outside without "melting". It's in the mid 90's with high humidity, so I can't stay out long to do any gardening or much less anything else. Is it cool where you are HT? For some reason I envision your area as being cool. How about you, neenime? Think I'd live in your pool, awelyn. Could I bring my water bazooka and Wonder Woman goggles? I promise I won't run around the pool or push anyone in (crosses fingers behind back)!

I think the Teleri are the sea-going bunch of the elves, vicarcat. I believe I have a little of that sort of elvish blood in my veins. Ready, about, hard to leeward.

I'm holding off on watching ROTK, Mith, even though it's very difficult to do so. It is the movie of choice to watch at the moot in Michigan. Will have to watch LOTR and TTT to help "ready" me for ROTK. Can't believe that in a week I'll be leaving with Ara-baby and pal! Feel like Bilbo going off on an adventure.

Today hubby and I are married 31 years. We celebrated yesterday on his day off by going to the beach (the man knows how to please me) and eating a wonderful seafood meal. I had my favorite-shrimp stuffed with delicately seasoned crab-meat . Divine! Son left a happy anniversary son on our machine. Told you he's great!

Now I'm off the help Ara-baby finish rounding up his gear for our Michigan trip. Take care, all!!

Laughing here at orkling herders and wizard gone wild. Reading these posts always seems to put a smile on my face.

Got a late start today as hubby didn't feel well last night. Had me worried it might be something serious so stayed up quite late. Thankfully, he's fine today.

Happy 31st anniversary, MT!! And you are welcome to bring your water bazooka, Wonder Woman goggles anytime. For safety, the rest of us will stand behind Ara-baby, lol!

It is much cooler here today. Although I love the sun, it is a welcome break from the recent humid heat. A nice lake breeze floating through our place. Reminiscent of Rivendell.

A lovely day to you all!
