(OOC: Great job you two. KG, I was thinking that Hotaru could go with Yusuke to the meeting of the lords of Makai and challenge Kurama there. Then after that, maybe leave with Aljin? PM me if you two have any other ideas)

Kurama appeared in Yomi's throne room, still dirty and exhausted from his ride; he hadn't stopped since the summons came.

"What's going on?" he asked immediately. Yomi turned from the fireplace.

"This." he tossed a letter on the table. Kurama picked it up and scanned it.

"I expect you to accompany me." Yomi continued. Kurama put the letter down.

"Very well. We should probably leave immediately if we do not wish to be late." the red-head advised. Yomi nodded.

"I know. As soon as you are ready, my men are ready to escort us."

Kurama raised an eyebrow. "You really think it necessary to take an armed escort?"

"I am not leaving anything to chance." Yomi stated. "Go get cleaned up."

Kurama said nothing more but turned and left.

Haku walked away from the courtyard. Taski still had her back to him and didn't look back.

"Did it help?" he asked suddenly. She paused.

"What?"

"Did it help?" Haku asked quietly. Taski turned towards him, her face unreadable.

Maiko watched until her friends stopped and were heading back to the castle, so she closed the window and returned to her daily work with her swords.

Caesar watched as his dad rode off, then looked at his sister, to find she had a worried look on her face.

"Don't worry he'll come back, he always does." then wrapped an arm around her shoulders, watching his dad's fading form...

Some time later, Hotaru, quietly opened her door. THere was no one in the hallway. She stepped back into her room and picked up her glaive, the blade giving off a red-purple sheen in the moonlight. SHe slipped quietly down the stone hallways, until she came to the doorway to Yusuke's study. She reached up a pale hand nd knocked loudly, creating an echo in the silent corridor.
"What?" Yusuke asked when he opened the door, he looked flustered, something he did not look often.
"I want to go with you to the meeting of the lords of the Makai," Hotaru said blankly. Yusuke raised an eyebrow, Hotaru reading his look, spoke again. "I'm not some inexperianced toddler, if that's what your thinking," she snorted. "I have something i need to take care of. May I go with you?"

((Okay.. we can share. You have Inu Yash in the beginning of the week while I have Trunks and then we can switch off at the beginning of the last half of the week. Deal?))

Jeanne awoke to find that Ryou was no where near her. She didn't know why but she had a feeling she had to find him soon. She quickly dressed and left her room to find him... didn't take long to find him....

Yanagi stepped back from the door, confused and some how hurt. He walked away from Hoatru's room, if she wanted to be alone he would let her be alone.

Yusuke looked down at Hotaru, a blank look on his face. He felt like just shutting the door and perhaps the demon girl would take that as a no but he couldn't do that. Something in her eyes told him she really did have a reason though what it was he didn't know.

"I guess you can...just don't get into any trouble."

Taski stared at Haku, her eyes moving from the dried blood around the cut on his forehead and around his mouth.

"Yes...atleast, you should hope it did."

Ryoukinshin turned as Jeanne walked up.

"What is going on?" she asked quietly. Ryoukinshin turned back to the window he was in front of.

"Yomi has arrived; and Yusuke is close behind."

Jeanne nodded, her green eyes looking below. "Do you think it will help?"

The wolf demon was quiet.

"Ryou?"

"I don't know." he admitted. "I hope it does."

Kurama dismounted from his demon horse as he, Yomi and the others entered Enki's courtyard. The kitsune sighed, closing his eyes. He hoped the children were all right.

Reopening his eyes, he followed Yomi into Enki's fortress.

Chie was washing some dishes behind the medical tent. It was so easy to get dirty around here; what with all the mud...

She glanced over. Ceaser was standing, facing Mukuro's territories...that was where Haku, Taski and Maiko would be. Drying her hands, Chie stood and walked up to next to her brother. "Do you miss her?" she asked softly.

Haku gave a wry half smile. "Okay then." he said quietly, then turned. "I guess we should rest, like your dad told us too. I'll see you later."

The red-head walked towards his room, then paused. Maybe he should check on Maiko...niether he or Taski had seen much of her.

Enki stood, his small wife beside him. To the demon king's right was Ryoukinshin and Jeanne and to his left were some of Enki's counselors.

In front of them stood Yomi, with some of his men and Kurama. Yusuke stood on the other side of the room, accompanyied by several of his own counselors and Hotaru. Ryoukinshin frowned to himself; Hotaru seemed changed from when he had seen her last. More determined...and somewhat cold. The wolf demon lowered his gaze; perhaps this war had a greater impact on her since Makai was her home...

Kurama gave a brief smile to Yusuke. The other man smiled a little wearily in return. Kurama nodded; he knew what Yusuke meant by that expression.

The kitsune's gaze fell onto Hotaru. He was pleased to see that she looked well. If he could catch her eye later, he would speak to her and see how she was.

"Maiko?" Haku tapped on the girl's door. "Maiko are you in there? It's Haku."

***

Botan brushed some strands of blue hair from her face. Mukuro's body was ready for burial...she would need to ask Heie where he wanted to place his wife's body. Inwardly cringing, the woman set out to find the fire demon.

***

The meeting dragged on for several hours, the feeling of tenseness rising. Enki was doing his best to find out exactly what happened, but Yomi was being stubborn and more than once made a pointed comment that angered Yusuke.

It seemed that they were not getting anywhere, so Enki ended the counsel till the next day. It was a mistake, he mused, to hold the meeting right after a long trip for both parties. Surely after a good meal and a rest, both parties would be calmer.

Ryoukinshin tried to catch up with Hotaru, but it seemed she had dissapeared. Sighing, he turned to Jeanne. "Didn't seem too successful, did it?"

Kurama saw Hotaru standing alone in the hallway. He walked up and gave her a quiet smile. "Hello, Hotaru. It's been a while."

"I need to speak to you." the girl said stoically. "Privately."

Kurama blinked. "All right." he agreed. Hotaru turned.

"This way." she said. A slight feeling of warning stirred in his mind, but the kitsune pushed it away. Hotaru seemed troubled about something...and Kurama felt partly responsible since he had taken her into his home.

Hotaru led him to a secluded part of Enki's grounds. Around them, the wind whipped Kurama's red hair around his face. Hotaru turned and faced him.

Kurama's green eyes narrowed slighlty. "Hotaru...what is going on?"

(OOC: Sorry for skipping so much time. Hope this gives you a good lead in, KG. I think that Hotaru should go off with Aljin after this for a little while. PM me about it if you or Sil have any ideas.)

((No!!! I keep InuYasha for a month then we trade, and vise versa.))

Caesar jumped alittle at his sister coming up to his side. For the past hour he'd been staring in the direction of Muruko's territory worring about his older brother and Maiko.

"Do you miss her?" Chei asked,

"Yes, I guess I'm just worried, and ever since this whole thing started I've worried about Maiko, especially with her powers growing faster than she can handle. Come on, we should get back to work." He turned back to the job he'd started before his mind started to wander..

Maiko was currently sitting on her bed, twirling one of her swords in her palms, with the windows open and the room converted to an ice ring. Everything was covered in ice, except the bed and all the furniture, of course. She turned when she heard a knock on the door,

"Maiko?" Haku tapped on the girl's door. "Maiko are you in there? It's Haku." She turned to face the door more, and said,

"Its open." The door opened and the first thing she saw was the dried blood on his forehead and mouth.

"Come here, let me heal it for you. Its either that or your mom fuses over you. Your choice. And if you do come in, be carefull of the ice on the floor." She smiled and tried not to laugh at the condition he was in...

Jeanne smiled slightly as she watched Kurama, Yusuke and the other familiar faces come through the door for the beginning of the meeting. What memories flew through her mind when she beheld her young grandfather and friend in front of her...
After the meeting ajourned, Jeanne smiled at Ryou's comment and began to look around for Yusuke and Kurama. She really wanted to say hi to them... but suddenly she felt an odd feeling... something was coming straight towards them...

(((Oooh, fun fun fun, I get to fight Kurama!)))

Hotaru reached back into the shadows of a corner and pulled out her glaive, Kurama raised an eyebrow, but said nothing.
"You've taken something from me," Hotaru said quietly, her gaze never leaving those emerald eyes.
"What?" Kurama asked.
"You are not who you apear to be," she continued, her voice staying in an icy monotone.
"I don't undestand, what are you taking about?" Kurama asked, he was starting to get worried about this entire situation.
"Murderer..." Hotaru whispered; Kurama jumped as if he had been slapped in the face. "You let my father die, to save your own worthless life!" She shrieked. "You stole his life, you took him from me, like the thief you are!"
"No! No, that's not what happened!" Kurama protested.
"Shut up!" Hotaru yelled at him. "I'm sick of your lies! You decived me from the very begining!" She swung her glaive up and to the side, the point coming to rest right beneth Kurama's chin.
"Hotaru, please, I don't understand," Kurama said, trying one more time to reason this out.
"Fight me fox," Hotaru snapped. "The blood you spilled so carelessly will be repaid, I swear it. Fight me or I kill you where you stand."

(*applauds* That was a great post, KG! Oh, and FL, Ev, if we're partioning out bishies, would anyone mind if I kept Miroku? *grin*)

Chie nodded and went back to her dishes. Kneeling, she plunged her hands into the tub.

"Want some help?"

Chie jumped and looked up. It was Shura. She smiled.

"No thanks. I can handle it."

"Than maybe you would not mind some company?"

Chie blinked and shifted a little. "Well, no. I guess that's okay."

Shura nodded and sat down nearby. Chie looked at him for a moment. He was awfully determined to hang around her...Chie shrugged and continued washing her dishes.

Ryoukinshin frowned. "What is it?" he asked as Jeanne stiffened.

Kurama swallowed, feeling the cold metal of Hotaru's glaive at his throat. He said nothing for a moment, merely looking at her. She had changed...

"Hotaru..." he began put Hotaru's blade pressed harder against his throat.

"Fight or die, Fox."

"Very well." Kurama said quietly, then brought his arm up quickly, knocking the glaive away. It cut his throat slightly and some blood spilled down, but he gave it no thought as he crouched slightly. Hotaru ran foward and Kurama dogded her weapon. She was fast, Kurama noted and her execution was good. This might prove harder than he thought. Still, Kurama couldn't raise his hand up against Kuroune's daughter. All he could hope to do was try to reach her somehow.

From the shadows, Aljin watched the fight from a tree. Below, were Alisqua and a small contigent. The wind demon smirked.

"You were right. The kitsune won't try to hurt her." she said in a satisfied tone.

Haku carefully made his way to Maiko's bed and sat down. The girl smiled wryly as she healed his wounds.

"No need to laugh at me." Haku commented.

"I wasn't laughing at you I was laughing at the fact that Taski is probably just as worse in her injures, as you are." The faint gold glow around her hands died as his wounds sealed up.

"There you go. Why don't go drag Taski here and I'll heal her as well. Better yet, I'll just go." She stood and left to go find her cousin...

Caesar was busy cleaning a sword when he saw Shura with his sister. He knew the demon boy wouldn't hurt her but he couldn't help but feel protective of her and didn't wnat her to get hurt...

Taski heard a knocking at the door, but at first did not answer it. Maiko obviously was determined for the demon girl to answer the door so finally Taski gave in and answered it.

Maiko walked in, sitting on the girl's bed motioning for Taski to sit next to her.

"What do you want?"Taski asked standing in front of Maiko instead of taking a seat.

"From just seeing Haku's condition after your fighting session, I'm guessing you also have some type of wound to heal."

"It's only a bruise, it can heal on it's own."

HOtaru lunged at Kurama again, swinging her glaive to the side and down, barley missing Kurama's right arm.
"Hotaru, stop, please, just talk to me, tell me where you got these ideas, I will not fight you!" He said, as he dodged another attack.
"Shut up!" she replied, jabbing the end of her glaive into the ground to give her ataqck more momentum as she swung the cold shining blade of her glaive at Kurama's heart.
But her attack was stopped before it could reach it's mark. It had been tangled in a green vine. Kurama had brought out his rose whip.
"So you've decided to fight back," Hotaru smirked. Kurama shook his head.
"I will not fight you," he repeated. "Tell me what has darkened you heart towards me."
"My heart is covered in the black blood of Kuroune," she whishpered. "And before this battle is over, another heart will lie bleeding on the ground."
Hotaru circled for a few seconds; Kurama was one of the most powerful demons she had ever fought, he had almost no holes in his defences, but if he shifted his foot... there!
She brought her glaive down in a quick silver movement, and left a long gash in Kurama's left leg.
"Will you fight now fox, or must I cut you to ribbons?" she asked.

((No... I guess you can have him... OH!! OH! I call Kouga! But to be serious for a bit, I'm leaving later today to go on a ski trip with my college group and won't be back till Sunday. So... I guess I'll see y'all then...))

Jeanne suddenly sensed some energy being emitted near them... and could she smell blood? "Ryou? Do you smell blood?", she asked him just to double check that she wasn't halusenating...

Kurama winced a little as blood poured down and noted with some slight alarm at how deep the cut had been.

"I will not fight until you tell me why you hate me all of a sudden. Give me the chance to at least defend myself-" Kurama's words were cut off as he dodged another attack. "Hotaru! Please!"

Suddenly his heart became cold; what if she had never really meant to become a part of his family, but had sought him out merely to kill him later? Kurama could hardly believe it and was tempted to throw out the idea immediatly. But there didn't seem to be an other explanation...

Ryoukinshin narrowed his yellow eyes and stood still for a moment. "Yes." he finally answered. "It's faint, but it's there. I'm surprised you picked it up."

(OOC: YAY! *huggles Miroku* I'll gladly keep the perverted monk out of your guys' hands and keep him out of trouble. *grins* On a rather wierd note, do you guys take those personality quizzes? I almost always get Miroku, which kinda wierds me out...O.o)

((Okay, FL, you can call Kouga and have fun, KG you can have Sesshomaru, and Jaid, yes I have taken the personality quizzes. One time it was Shippo as #1, then the second time it was InuYasha as #1. *rubs Inu's ears**giggle* Can you guys hear him pur?:drool:))

Maiko simply looked at her cousin in the eyes and shurrged,

"Fine, but at least let me look at, or your going to be in alot of pain, and right now, I don't think you'll want to be." She had a feeling it was worse than Taski thought. She saw Taski glare at her, but was unnerved by it, and continued to look at Taski,

"Fine, you don't want my help, then I'll leave you to it." She stood and left feeling a slight pain in her heart, and felt her dad's voice enter her mind,
Maiko, can you sense what's going on there?
What do you mean dad?
I can feel somethings changed about one of you kids. I can also sense Kurama in a fight with someone.
Who?
No clue, keep your guard up.
I will dad, talk to you later. She felt his mind leave hers and went out the door, closing it before slumping down onto the floor trying to figure out what was going on...I don't like the looks of this.

Caesar stopped polishing the sword he was working on, and turned to look back in the direction of Muruko's territory, sensing something was wrong with Maiko.
Why do I get the feeling, that what's happening to Maiko, is the start of something worse. Gods, I hate this. He continued to stare in that direction for at least an hour, before he felt a hand on his arm...

Yusuke had been sitting down, his head in his hands, so tired it wasn't until this very moment he realized he had not seen Hotaru after the meeting.

'I know I shouldn't have let her come,' Yusuke though angrily to himself.

He stood up and walked out of the room in search of Hotaru.

Aljin chuckled quietly to himself as he watched Kurama try and speak with the girl to no avail. He knew it wasn't long before others sense this little fight or noticed Hotaru missing. Then it would have to end. Aljin though would let it continue as long as he could before finally taking Hotaru.

Jeanne smiled at Ryou's comment and the two of them made their way outside close to where the fighting was taking place...

Hotaru was fighting with all she had, but Kurama was not going to beaten like this, and she couls sense other people coming.
"I guess I have no other choice," she mumbled, and tore at the black cloth tied around her arm, revealing her dragon, resting on her arm, looking like a shinging white-silver tatto.
"How will you fair, I wonder," she asked Kurama. "Against my Moon Dragon?" Kurama looked worried, but held his stance. HOtaru was about to release her dragon when she heard someone yell :
"Stop!"

Jeanne had booked it ahead of Ryou after sensing that the two people fighting were two of her closest friends. "STOP! Hotaru, Stop! What are you doing?", Jeanne yelled as Ryou caught up with her. She looked at Kurama and then back at Hotaru with a look between that of horror and utter perplexity...

Ryou was on Jeanne's heels. His gaze darkened as he saw Hotaru and Kurama, who had fallen to his knees. Hotaru had struck him in a few more places and the kitsune was bleeding rather heavily from what would otherwise be superficial wounds.

Chie watched her brother carefully. She had been completing small chores here and there. Shura had followed sometimes helping, sometimes not, but never speaking. Chie had finally decided to ignore him, since he didn't seem inclined to talk.

Dumping the load of firewood she had collected into Shura's arms, she started to walk away. "I'll be right back." she said over her shoulder.

Going up to Ceaser, she put a hand on his shoulder. "Ceaser? I feel scared for some reason..."

Haku had been unable to rest, and now he was pacing the fortress wall, the section that faced Enki's territory, although he didn't know that. The boy couldn't explain it, but he felt very unsettled...like something bad was about to happen...

Botan paused in the hallway, hand going to her heart. Although she was not a telepath or anything of the like, as a Reikai spirit, she had bonded very closely with Kurama after they had married. And now, it felt like he was in some kind of pain. A lightening strike of fear went through her.

"Hotaru, lower your arm now." Ryou said in an even tone.

"i will not." she said quietly, but determinedly.

"Hotaru-'

"This does not concern you!" she hissed, but there were tears in her eyes now. As if making a final decision, the Moon Dragon suddenly roared to life.

"No!" Jeanne cried jumping forward. Ryoukinshin grabbed her.

"No, Jeanne!" Ryou held her two him.

Kurama jumped up and tried to dodge, but was still badly hit. The roaring stopped, the dragon returned to Hotaru, and Kurama fell face down on the ground. Shaking, Hotaru turned and ran away.

Jeanne twisted out of Ryou's grip and ran to Kurama, who wasn't moving. Ryoukinshin stood still, watching as Hotaru dissapeared into the forest, feeling stunned and confused. What had happened?

Chie buried her head into Ceaser's shoulder. "I'm really, really scared...but I don't know why."

Haku suddenly stopped and felt as if his breath had been taken away...He grabbed the stone edge of the wall.

***

Botan felt another stab of fear, then she quickly walked to Heie's room, Kurama the only thing on her mind.

She opened the door to see Heie standing at the window. He turned as she entered. Botan knew that she was probably crying and probably was pale.

"Something's wrong." she gasped out. "I'm sorry, Heie, but I have to go. Something's happened to Kurama."


(OOC: I haven't killed Kurama. But he is badly hurt. Just to let you guys know. ^__^)

"No!", Jeanne cried as Hotaru attacked Kurama and without thinking began to head right into the line of fire. Luckily for her Ryou stopped her holding her closed so the two would not be in the way of the fight. Soon enough the fight was over, Hotaru left and Jeanne headed over to Kurama. "Ryou! We have to help him.", she said as she examined Kurama. Ryou came over and knelt down to examine their close kitsune friend...

Heie nodded to Botan with his usual blank face. He to felt something wrong but clearly not as strongly as the blue haired woman felt it.

Aljin jumped out of the tree, landing lightly in front of Hotaru who skidded to a halt in front of him. She seemed exhausted from using her dragon. He hid his smile at the potential power this girl could have.

"Come, we should go now before they begin to look for you."

Yusuke arrived on the scene much to late. He saw Kurama lying on the ground badly hurt, Jeanne beside him and Ryou also beside the Kitsune. Hotaru though was no there, had a pretty good idea why she wasn't. He walked to stand beside Ryuo.

"I'm guessing Hotaru had was the cause of this?"Yusuke asked.

The wolf demon nodded,"She ran into the woods before any of us could stop her."

This time it was Yusuke's turn to nod. "We'll look for her as soon as Kurama is taken care of.

Even as Yusuke said this, he had a feeling they wouldn't find her.

A little while after Botan left Heie looked back out the window, this side face Enki's lands. His eyes spotted Kurama's son who he had earlier been walking along the wall, had stopped as if in pain. He wouldn't know though what it was he felt.

Heie found that he wanted to go to Kurama to see if his friend was all right but he could not leave.

Ryoukinshin carefully picked up Kurama and carried him into the fortress. "Perhaps you can ask Enki for some healing items." he suggested to Yusuke. The man nodded and quickly walked down the hall. Ryoukinshin and Jeanne placed Kurama in his room.

"How could this have happened?" Ryou asked softly.

"I don't know...but I don't think Hotaru's heart was completely in it." Jeanne said. Ryoukinshin looked up.

"What do you mean?"

"He's still alive...I think somewhere inside, Hotaru still didn't want to kill him. Even if she doesn't know that herself." the woman said.

Botan flew on her oar faster than she had ever dared to over Makai. But it still would take all night for her to reach Enki's territory. She only hoped that Kurama would be all right.

Hotaru nodded and followed the taller demon away from the castle.
"I coudn't do it Aljin," she muttered, facing the rising moon. "I coudn't kill him. I just... coudn't. Why am I so weak?! I know I want him dead, but I coudn't do it."

Caesar held his sister tightly and felt a sharp jolt and winced in pain.

"I know. I have a feeling everything just got worse. We'll make it, Chei. I know we will." He was mostly trying to reassure himself more than his sister. Somethings wrong, and dad's at the end of it. He just held his sister and continued to look towards Enki's land, where he knew his dad was..

Maiko had stood and was walking when she felt a sharp pain in her shin, then all over her body. She found Haku, who was leaning against the wall, obviously in pain.

"So it is true. Something did happen to Kurama." Her eyes seemed to look like a mist during the day. She'd left her hair down, and just looked at Haku...

Jeanne followed Ryou as he took Kurama inside and placed him in a room. After stepping back and letting the healers attend to him Jeanne looked to her side after hearing Ryou sigh and asked softly, "How could this have happened?" "I don't know...but I don't think Hotaru's heart was completely in it." Jeanne said. Ryoukinshin looked up. He seem somewhat perplexed by her answer. "What do you mean?", he asked wanting to her to reveal more to her answer. "He's still alive...I think somewhere inside, Hotaru still didn't want to kill him. Even if she doesn't know that herself." She sighed and shook her head. "Come... we better leave this to them. Right now we need to find Hotaru... I feel your brother's presence near by..."

Botan entered the room, to find Kurama lying on the bed, pale and still. Rushing to his side, she sat next to him and carefully brushed of of his red hair from his face.

"Oh Kurama..." she whispered, a tear falling from her eye.

Yanagi was sitting moodily on one of the battlements when Eriko ran up.

"Yan!" she cried, breathing heavily. "Mielan says that there is a huge army attacking from the West."

"What?" Yanagi turned. Eriko nodded.

"The border's fallen and the army is pushing it's way inside. Yan, what are we going to do?"

Haku turned away from Maiko back towards the edges of Mukuro's territory. He frowned...something in the distance wasn't right...

"Maiko!" He said quickly. "There on the borders...do you see smoke like I do?"

(OOC: Hope nobody minded me taking the Uremeshi kids for a sec; but I wanted them to get back into some action.

New change of plans; Sil and KG listen up especially. Aljin is going to try and release the Three Kings of Hell: Melston, Baal, and Diablo, but he needs something to keep them under control. I thought that this could be Hotaru; maybe because of her lunar blood, she can be used for that purpose. You two work it out, but that's what we're working towards)

Jeanne and Ryou quickly left the castle and was soon out on the grounds. Jeanne felt a tugging at her soul telling her that Hotaru went a certain direction... "That way!", Jeanne pointed as the two of them took off through the Maikain sky...

(No prob Jaid I couldn't figure out a way to get them back in anyway. All right, that plan sounds good.)

Aljin put a hand on her shoulder,"It's all right Hotaru, there is nothing weak about you. You will recieve another chance."

He paused as if listening for something.

"We can't remain here much longer, others are coming for us."

Grabbing her arm he took off at an amazing speed, almost ending up having to carry Hotaru with him. He knew he could easily disapear but leading them on for a few minutes wouldn't be to be to bad.

Yanagi looked at his sister with a surprised look, almost even a little hint of fear in his eyes. Their father was gone not even realizing what was happening at this very moment leaving no one to keep them safe or comfort them.

"I don't know Eri, I wish I did. I guess we're on our own for now."

Eriko leaned against the stone wall," I wish dad was here now."

Maiko watched as smoke rose in the distance.

"So they're attacking now, when the meetings taking place, and the lords are all away, except for Heie." She went up to the window, and looked out, sending her mind across the land to where Eriko and Yanagi were at. She touched them gently, through their minds, but found Eriko could handle a telepathic communication,
Eriko. It's Maiko, what's going on over there? Haku and I can see smoke rising from where you are. Be careful, something's wrong and I can feel it.
I have no idea what's going on. Can you see anything? I do know that there's an army attacking, at the border, but that's all the information we have right now.
Okay. Do you think your dad knows?
No clue, he left for the meeting in Enki's territory, several hours ago, and hasn't come back yet. Can you get a hold of him?

Please do try. Maiko left Eriko's mind and went in the other direction, towards where she knew Yueske was. She found him but also saw Kurama laying on a bed, bleeding terribly, from several wounds, but she steady herself for contacting Yuesuke, not wanting to cause him more pain, she lightly touched his mind, so that he knew she was there, then withdrew slightly at the feelings of pain and anguish she was getting. She wasn't going to be able to reach him when he was in this state. She almost gave up when Yuesuke's mind called her back,
Is something wrong Maiko?
I don't know if you really want this bad news, seeing as how Kurama's state is.
What's the bad news?He sounded so stern, but she knew he was hurting inside
Take look out the window towards your territory. I just talked to Eriko and she told me that an army was attacking your borders, and pushing its way inside. She ready herself for something harsh, but nothing came, so she left and returned to Haku. Her eyes snapped open, and shelooked over at Haku not able to tell him his dad's condition....

Caesar held Chei tightly as the feeling of trouble continued to creep up his back.
This isn't good. Whatevers going on its about to get worse, I can feel it. He could do nothing but hold his sister and hope that his dad was okay...

Ryoukinshin followed Jeanne's direction. He sped up, outdistancing her, wanting to get to Aljin before he vanished. But suddenly there was a flash and his brother's presence dissapeared. Ryoukinshin jumped to the ground and stood, shaking inwardly. He'd failed...and now, Hotaru and Kurama could pay a high price.

Botan sat next to Kurama's bed. The healers had been able to close most of his wounds, but he would still be weak from loss of blood. But the force of Hotaru's dragon had drained his energy almost completely and the kitsune was as still and pale as he had been before.

Botan's eyes filled with tears as she clenched her fists. 'Please don't leave me and the kids.' she inwardly begged. 'I wouldn't be able to handle it...please don't go..'

Haku heard Maiko's words and was silent as she reached out with her telepathy. When her eyes re-opened, she looked vaguely stricken. Haku stiffened.

"What is it, Maiko?" he asked. "It's my father isn't it?"

Maiko shook her head, but said nothing. Haku walked up to her.

"Tell me what's wrong with him." he demanded, a slightly desperate note in his voice. Maiko didn't answer but looked away.

"Maiko! Please! If it was your father, wouldn't you want to know?" he asked.

Chie suddenly pulled away from Ceaser, with a soft gasp as some of the scouts began shouting. The gasp turned into a sharp cry as one fell from the half finished wall with an arrow in his throat. "Ceaser!"

They were under attack.

Jeanne soon caught up to Ryoukenshin. He seemed upset... he really wanted to catch his brother this time. She walked up next to him placing a hand on his shoulder speaking softly, "Its alright... we'll get him next time.." But she knew the real problem was not of Aljin alone. It was Hotaru and Kurama as well...

((Okay... just a quick thing here. I was thinking about starting a new thread, Inu Yasha one but a little bit differently. If any of you are interested PM me, k?))

All Maiko could do was look away. She knew he was angry but couldn't bring herself to tell her best friend his dad was near death.
"Tell me what's wrong with him." he demanded, a slightly desperate note in his voice. Maiko didn't answer.

"Maiko! Please! If it was your father, wouldn't you want to know?" he asked. Her hands were in a fist, not saying anything, then spoke quietly,

"If it was my father, yes. I would want to know but if it was my friends father, and I'd just found out his condition, I couldn't bring myself to tell my friend." She could say what Kurama's condition was, but couldn't bring herself to do it. She felt Haku grab her and shake her shoulders.

"Please. Tell me what's wrong and what happened to my dad." Tears formed in her eyes, and she spoke barely above a whisper,

"He's in really bad shape. Hotaru's Moon dragon, drained alot of his energy, so he's very near death. He is alive, but barely." She couldn't bring herself to look at Haku, as her tears dropped forming small ice crystals, that dropped to the floor. She could feel Haku's grip lighten, and looked at him. His face was slightly pale and he looked sick. She felt another jolt, in her mind and sent it out towards where Caesar and Chei were...

Holy crap. He didn't think, he just grabbed his sister's hand and ran towards the demon horses. He put her on first then climbed on behind her, blocking several arrows that were aimed at him and his sister, and the horse sped away, in a different direction than the one the army was coming from.

Maiko, found the battle sight and saw Caesar riding a demon horse away from the battle field. She returned to her body, and looked right at Haku,

"We have another problem. The camp where your brother and sister were staying was just attacked, they got away and riding in the forest on their way to somewhere safe. Where that is, I have no clue. I can send Caesar a telepathic message telling him to come here if you want. Its up to you." Deep down she was terrified that the attacks would spread here, but pushed her worries out of her mind and focused on the task at hand....

((I wasn't sure where they'd go Jaid, but if its' okay I was going to have them ride into Muruko's territory and meet up with Haku, Maiko and Taski.))

Hotaru willingly let Aljin lead her away from that place, she could sense Ryoukinshin and Jeanne, but she said nothing, she knew Aljin could sense them too. Besides, she didn't want to see them, they'd just try to kill her anyway, for what she'd done.
Hotaru was a little surprise when they were suddenly in another place though, she hadn't really been paying attention.
"Where are we?" she asked Aljin.
