Raen turned and stared at Levi, utterly speechless. Never before had he found himself lost for words. He could see that they were virtually indistinguishable, yet he could not believe what he was hearing and seeing all the same. But I have no family! he thought to himself.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Levi stared back at him, eye for eye. He shook his head, thinking that if he had any family he would have heard of them before this. Yet he could clearly see that what Asgar had told him was undeniable and that there was no other way to explain it. However, he still felt his voice rising in protest.
Suddenly both he and Raen errupted with arguements at Asgar, trying to come up with an excuse for their identical looks without them being related. Both knew that it was useless to argue and they would have to eventually accept it but that did not stop them. Eventually Asgar yelled as loud as he could and interrupted them, unable to take anymore of it.
"Enough! Listen to yourselves, you're like a pair of children! Now accept it or don't it matters not to me, but eventually you'll have to deal with it whether you like it or not so what better time than the present?! I have a very big task that needs completing and I need you both for it, so learn to get along and just face the facts, alright?!"
Asgar panted after he had finished shouting.Levi and Raen ceased their arguements and fell silent. Finally Raen broke the silence and spoke, "So....... I have a kidnapper for a brother do I? Well, it's just as well he's not a noble or I should be deeply ashamed that someone such as myself would have a respectable brother!" Raen extended a hand, "Greetings brother!"
Levi slowly took his hand and shook it, "I could say the same for you brother, even if your chosen profession is undoubtedly common."
"Yes it is true many people are assassains, but not many are as successful as I. I don't kill just anyone, I specialise in people of royalty and power!"
"Ah, well then I respect you! I guess you must be outstandingly good!"
Asgar cut in, "That is why I brought you together. I needed both you and only the best in each profession will do!"
Raen grinned, "If he is the best in his own profession, then I guess I cannot hold a grudge against him for matching me in skill!"
Levi nodded and replied, "The same goes for me."
An awkward silence developed. Both of them looked at each other, still adjusting to the idea of having a twin. Suddenly there were noises coming from Asgar's little back room. Raen glanced curiously over, but the noises stopped and he shrugged, thinking he was hearing things. However the noises soon started again.
"Asgar, what kind of animal are you keeping in there?" Raen asked as he sauntered over, "A bear?"
Grabbing the keys to the door, before Asgar could lay his hands on them, Raen opened the door and to his great astonishment a maiden tumbled out bound and gagged.
"Tut tut Asgar! That is no way to treat a lady!"
He crouched down and unbound her and removed the gag. He reached out and put his hand under her chin, lifting it. When he saw the maiden's face burst out laughing.
"Why if it isn't Lady Sila! It has been long since I saw you last! What are you doing here?" he asked. Suddenly he asked eagerly, "Is Ari with you? Have you heard from her?"
Sila shook her head, "I have no idea where she went!" Raen's face fell.
Levi came up behind them and spoke to her. "So this is Raen is it?"
Raen swiveled around and stared at Levi, "You know Sila?" he whirled around and spoke to her, "How did you know I had a twin brother? Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because I didn't know!" Sila retorted, as she stood.
Raen grinned suddenly as it clicked in his mind, "So you mean that you thought I was him?" he laughed, "Well I'm sure that was fun!"
"You have been causing me more trouble than you can imagine Raen! First she goes insane and tells me my name is Raen and she couldn't believe what I had done to her after all we'd been through. Then I'm guessing that whole incident on the steps here was to do with you! And finally, your friend here starts giving me a hard time thinking I was you!"
Raen burst into hysterics. "I'm sure you're having a great time in Minas Tirith then!"
Asgar looked at them both, "I hate to interrupt your conversation, but you do have a job to be getting on with, so I must tell you about it! Save your brotherly time for later!" he looked at Aidem and Karay,
"You two, guard Lady Silamiren in that room there until we're finished!"
"Raen, please tell them to let me go! You're my friend, please!"
Raen smiled sympathetically, "I'm sorry Sila but you're under my brother's care not mine - I can't do anything about it! But judging by his character so far I'm sure you're having fun, he's quite like me!"
Sila glared at him before being dragged back into the small room. Asgar locked the door behind them and sat down. He spoke at a whisper, so that the three others could not hear.
"Now, you know I don't beat about the bush so I'll get straight to the point. There's a he-elf by the name of Evethire in Minas Tirith at the moment. He is seeking travellers to aid him on a quest in search of his heirlooms." he paused, "Amoung all this hidden treasure, there is a jewel of great power. I want it. Now, what you must do is this, I want you to accompany this elf on his quest and pretend you're aiding him - I don't need to tell you how to act. Do nothing until you have reached the treasure. Once you have, take over the whole company. Make sure you bring Evethire back alive! The rest of the company.... those that are worth a ransom, keep. The rest you can do what you please with them! Understand?"
Raen and Levi nodded, excitement shining in their eyes as they listened.
Asgar then continued, "Now Levi you must take Lady Sila with you."
"What?!"
"Do you seriously think I can keep here in Gondor? You wanted a challange so I gave you one! I'm sure you'll have no trouble now that your brother is here!"
Levi made a face but stayed quiet. Asgar smiled. "Good." turning to Raen he continued, "I have something special for you also." He looked at Levi, "Go wait outside on the street Levi until we're finished."
"Is it entirely fair if he knows what I'm doing and I don't know what he is?!" Levi protested.
"I guess being an assassain has its advantages!" Raen teased. Levi rolled his eyes and stalked off, slamming the door behind him. Lowering his voice even more, Asgar pressed on,
"There is also someone else of importance in the city. I am told that they will most likely be accompanying the he-elf on his journey. If not you must persuade them to. Anyway, once everything is going to plan and you are on your return, I want you to do what you do best!"
Raen grinned, "For once I believe you have given me a job I'm looking forward to because I know it shall be fun! So what does this character look like and what is their name?"
Asgar leaned in close, "I'll tell you now. They go by the name of....."
((Mwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! :evil: :evil: :evil: ))
~*~
As Levi ambled around outside he suddenly caught sight of a figure at the end of the alley. As he looked closer he realised that it was a fair she-elf. He grinned and sauntered over to her.
"Greetings? Can I be of some help? Are you lost? Only a pretty maiden such as yourself shouldn't be hanging around this part of the city!" he charmed.
((Please excuse whatever mistakes there are as I'm too tired and lazy to read it through tonight! If it's really bad tomorrow or confusing then I'll edit it! Won't be long till we're all meeting up now!! ))
(((This is gonna be my shortest post, or so I hope, but there's not much for Aidem to do but sulk about having to guard Sila....)))
'Why should I? I don't work for you?!' Aidem challenged Asgar's request. Seeing that he was being ignored, Aidem thrust Sila further into the room, and had the door slammed behind him. Grinning, Aidem pressed his ear to cold door. He was, however, rather perurbed to find that the door was stone, and the group was speaking in whispers anyway.He sighed and rolled his eyes.
Slumping against the wall, he gazed around the bare room, half noting the similarity to a prison cell.
Aidem shuddered at the thought of trying to make conversation, but to his regret and dismay, there was nothing else to do. He obviously wouldn't be able to hear the groups oh so secret discussion, and he didn't fancy sitting there in silence. Perhaps he could at least come to neutral terms with the fuming maiden whom they had to guard. Aidem also didn't fancy being locked in rooms with mad women. He shuddered again. Two women.
'So, Sila, is it? How did you come to be entangled in such a pair as Levi and Raen?'
Aidem crossed his arms as Sila glared at him. His green eyes flashed as he glared back.
((I'm assuming Levi's talking to me, although he may not be, ah well, I'm just as dazed and confused as you are.))
"Greetings? Can I be of some help? Are you lost? Only a pretty maiden such as yourself shouldn't be hanging around this part of the city!"
That voice, it had such a familiar quality to it. Still, she didn't know who was behind her, so in one swift motion she turned around and pulled out her blade.
She stared into a very familiar pair of dark eyes, and an even more familiar mischevious grin. She lowered her sword.
"Raen?" Her voice was hopeful, and had a sort of begging quality to it.
Wait, no. There was something about him that Ari did not recognize. Something just didn't seem right about him. Still, she kept her blade lowered and remained hopeful.
"Raen?" She repeated herself, still in shock. She stepped back a little ways, putting some room between herself and this man, in case he was not Raen.
But then, who was he?
"I am brought here by my uncontrollable curiosity to see a new place."
Evethire grinned at his cousin "I always knew you as the one who would go looking for trouble." "Only joking" he laughed seeing Eorlas's face.
"A quest is what brings you to the streets of Minas Tirith? I shall gladly join you my cousin" Ëorlas said cheerfully, putting a hand on Evethire's shoulder. “This family heirloom you speak of..what is it? And perhaps a better question would be; do you know where it is?"
Evethires face grew serious. "Well," he started " I dont exactly know of its rightful position but I know there is some speak of the Iron Hills in the tale. It is a stone or jewel that attracts my eye but it lies with a great deal of treasure, so it is said. Not much is known of the stone but it is very precious and valuable.Though Eorlas I didnt mean for you to commit yourself or anyone else to come along." Evethire finished seeing Eorlas look towards the elvish maiden standing slightly away from the conversation.
"but if you would I would be in your dept for ever."
Then noticing how rude it must have seemed, to the maiden, not introducing himself he spoke gently "Forgive me," here he gave a small bow half as a joke."I didnt introduce myself. I am Evethire son of Elethir." He held out a hand towards Aireon.
"And who may you be? A sweet person like you must have a name."He smiled hoping she would forgive his lack of courtesy.
"Raen?"
Levi heard the hope, almost begging coming through the maiden's voice. He sighed and watched her step back as she called him Raen once more.
Rolling his eyes, he shook his head and spoke to her, "No I am not Raen," he paused and muttered under his breath, "Although the whole of Minas Tirith seems to think so."
Catching the look of disappointment in the maiden's crestfallen face he continued on, "If you wait here, he shall be along presently."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Raen sat back and nodded to Asgar when he had finished telling him the necessary details. "Very good! I shall deal with them on our return. I must congratulate you, Asgar for actually giving me something to do which I shall look forward to, most things you hire me for are very dull and unchallenging!"

"Well get along and find Levi again. Bring your two friends with you and tell Levi that Lady Silamiren may remain here until you are leaving the city. Now make sure you find Evethire as soon as possible!"

Raen rose and waved a hand at Asgar, "Relax. We shall find him quick enough!" Strolling over, he opened the back door and let Aidem and Karay out before winking at Sila and saying, "I shall see you soon Sila! Until then, have fun!"

Raen crossed the room and opened the door leading out onto the alley. He turned and looked at Asgar, "We shall return before we leave!" Asgar nodded and told him to get out.

Slamming the door behind him, he sauntered up the alley towards Levi's figure. The day was just beginning and citizens were only awakening now, a few of them preparing to open their trade stalls and stores. He noticed that Levi seemed to be talking to someone. Someone who sounded very familiar, however they were standing in the shadow of a building and their face was not completely in view. Suddenly he heard Levi's voice drifting towards him,

"Here he is now! Raen, do you every maiden there is in Gondor, or is there even one you don't know?!"

Raen grinned and hollered back, "Why I should be surprised if there was one I didn't, although few of them I remember!"

As he neared, his black eyes cut through the gloom surrounding this maiden and he looked into her eyes. There was a great familiarity and warmth in them. Suddenly Raen broke into a grin and ran towards her. "Ari!" he called out in delight. Catching her, he swung her around in the air before holding her closely and kissing her passionately.

Levi watched with a cocked eyebrow and sighed deeply, as he waited for his brother to finish embracing the maiden before him. He smirked and looked at his fingers before raising his eyes to the sky. "When you're ready .... brother!" he spoke derisively. He still found it strange to be calling someone 'brother', although he knew he would eventually get used to it.

Raen pulled apart from Ari and grinned. Why how considerate of you brother!" He looked lovingly at Ari and continued, "May I introduce my twin brother, Levi!" he looked over at Levi once more, "Levi, this is the beautiful lady Arianna!"

Levi smirked, "A pleasure I'm sure!"

Raen laughed and slung his arm around Ari's waist. They walked back over to Aidem, Karay and Levi. "So... what are you doing here Ari? I thought I'd never see you again!" he asked warmly, his black eyes filled with love and affection.

(sorry I have not posted in a while! It is finals week at our school, lots of studying to be done!)

Aireon coughed a bit as Ëorlas lead her out of the smoke by the keen direction of another. When they stepped into the clear light of setting day from the grey billowing clouds of smoke, Ëorlas recognized at once the intelligent looking elf to be his cousin, Evethire.

Bright blue eyes of the young she-elf surveyed the two men talking briskly to one another as the pub, which used to stand proud, tumbled down in heaps of smoldering wood. As she turned her gaze to the ground, not wanting to be intruding upon their conversation, her keen pointed ears could not help but over hear their conversation.

“My business here is a quest, it is to find people who will accompany me on the quest to find a family heirloom of great worth in sentiment and in gold, but I have not found a soul yet. What brings you here? I would ask you to talk over a drink but, “he looked where the pub used to stand proud, "but in the circumstances, maybe not." Evethire said, lightly laughing at the now burning rubble that used to be the inn.

Aireon gave a small laugh, but soon taught her crimson lips and only continued to smile in silence at the ground. "I am brought here by my uncontrollable curiosity to see a new place."

Evethire grinned at his cousin "I always knew you as the one who would go looking for trouble." "Only joking" he laughed seeing Eorlas's face.

"A quest is what brings you to the streets of Minas Tirith? I shall gladly join you my cousin" Ëorlas said cheerfully, putting a hand on Evethire's shoulder. “This family heirloom you speak of..what is it? And perhaps a better question would be; do you know where it is?"

Evethires face grew serious. "Well," he started " I don’t exactly know of its rightful position but I know there is some speak of the Iron Hills in the tale. It is a stone or jewel that attracts my eye but it lies with a great deal of treasure, so it is said. Not much is known of the stone but it is very precious and valuable. Though Eorlas I didn’t mean for you to commit yourself or anyone else to come along." Evethire finished seeing Eorlas look towards the elvish maiden standing slightly away from the conversation.
"but if you would I would be in your dept for ever."

Aireon stayed silent though the talk of a legend she heard many times from Mr. Gilben story telling, made her want to spring fourth toward the Iron mountains with joy in her heart. A fire only kindled with excitement in her burning sky-blue eyes. Glancing upward she caught a smile from Ëorlas as if he were inviting her to join them on their quest.

"Forgive me," Evethire spoke directed toward Aireon and gave a small bow half as a joke. “I didn’t introduce myself. I am Evethire son of Elethir." He held out a hand towards Aireon.
"And who may you be? A sweet person like you must have a name.” He smiled hoping she would forgive his lack of courtesy.

A bright smile etched her fair face, “There is nothing to be forgiven Sir Evethire,” Aireon replied thinking Ëorlas’ cousin a good, kind fellow. “My name is Aireon, and I thank you for being so courteous.” Pausing she flashed a smile towards Ëorlas then proposed her proposition briskly, “I am not trying to impose upon your quest, but I have been on many travels with Ëorlas, and it would be more then an honor to help the two of you on your journey. I shall cook, clean, or whatever you like.” With a final note of confidence Aireon added, “I shall fight to the end, and am a pretty good shot with a bow, that is to say only that I learned from the best,” At the last sentence she put a soft, thankful hand on Ëorlas’ shoulder.

The door opened, and Aidem jerked his eyes away from Sila. He glared at Asgar before stalking out of the room. This was the exact reason he never even tried layering on the charm. Oh, he was thoroughly capable, but even when he acted courteous it had no effect on women. They wre all the same.
Sighing, he followed Raen out the door, wondering why he was still even tagging long.

Aidem stepped into the alley and blinked, it was already the next day. Squinting as his eyes readjusted to the light, Aidem started at the sight of Raen embracing and quite thoroughly kissing a maiden with long, light colored hair that fell to her waist. The theif cleared his throat rather loudly and rolled his eyes in exasperation. Raen quickly introduced her to Levi before placing an arm around her waist and walking back towards Aidem and Karay.
Closing his eyes, Aidem stifled a yawn and blinked blearily at Raen, who was starting a conversation with the newcomer. He shrugged and pushed some unruly hair out of his face. Growing bored, Aidem suddenly remembered Levi and dedicated himself to throwing a nasty look or two his way every now and then.

"No I am not Raen. If you wait here, he shall be along presently."

Ari stared, puzzled, at the man, wondering who he was. All thought of anyone else left her head as another voice joined their conversation.

"Here he is now! Raen, do you every maiden there is in Gondor, or is there even one you don't know?!"

"Why I should be surprised if there was one I didn't, although few of them I remember!"

Her heart lept, and she slowly turned to look over Levi's shoulder as the man approached. This was one she knew.

There was a brief pause as the two locked eyes, and all the world seemed to go silent for those few precious moments that they stared at eachother. A pair of very familiar black eyes stared back into her blue ones.

She started walking toward him, and broke into a run. He did the same, and he swept her into his arms. He swung her around and then kissed her.

She pulled back and looked at him, her face now lit up with happiness and joy.

Then, Raen introduced her to his twin brother Levi. Never before had she seen two that looked so much alike, and it was a wonder she knew this one wasn't Raen. The same black eyes glittering with mischief, dark hair hanging scraggly around the face, and the same cocky, slightly arrogant posture.

As they walked towards some others who stood at the end of the alley, Raen slung his arm casually about her waist and kissed her once more on the cheek before taking her to the others.

"So... what are you doing here Ari? I thought I'd never see you again!"

"Well," she began, before stopping. Besides looking for Sila, she didn't know what had driven her to come back. She certainly missed him, but didn't expect him to be back here.

Unless he was still working for Asgar.

Even back when they had been together before, his choice of occupation had made her very uncomfortable. She didn't necessarily think that killing was something to be proud of.

"I don't know, really, besides hoping to see Sila. I'm staying at an inn a little ways down the street, really quite bad accomodations, nothing like your humble abode outside of the city."

She noticed a brief smile flicker acorss his face at this thought, but then he turned and introduced him to his companions Aidem and Karay.

"So, I trust he has been been behaving himself?" She said this to Aidem, smiling at him as he threw dark looks at Levi.

"I don't know, really, besides hoping to see Sila. I'm staying at an inn a little ways down the street, really quite bad accomodations, nothing like your humble abode outside of the city."

A small grin flashed across Raen's face at Ari's reply. He shook his head, remembering the time when they had hidden there with some other convicts after escaping from prison. Back when they knew each other for the first time.

"Well I cannot have you staying in some dilapidated little inn! We shall gather your belongings at once and move you to my extravagant retreat!" he replied teasingly, knowing his home was anything but extravagent. More decrepit he thought to himself. But it didn't bother him. In fact it was exactly how he liked it.

Raen noticed the dark and scathing looks that Aidem was throwing at Levi and grinned. It was clear that the pair of them had a grudge towards each other. He didn't know what had happened between them while he was gone but he could only imagine.

"So, I trust he has been been behaving himself?"

He turned to look at Ari, mock surprise and offence in his eyes.
"Of course I have Ari! What put such a notion in your pretty head? Do you not trust me?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Levi waited for Raen to finish introducing Ari to Aidem and Karay, he heard Ari saying that she came to see Lady Silamiren. He grinned darkly, knowing that she did not realise where Sila was. However, he kept his mouth shut, not wanting to say anything out on the streets of the matter.
Casting an eye over at Aidem, he saw the dirty looks he gave him and shrugged to show he didn't care. He turned away from Aidem and looked up the streets, eager to get going. He already had formed a great dislike for Raen's friend.
Just them Raen came over to him with Ari,
"Come brother! We must go and fetch Ari's things from the inn!"
Levi sighed and nodded his head reluctantly, "Alright! Where is this inn?" he asked Ari.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Raen saw his reluctant nod and taunted, "Oh stop that Levi! You can stay there too, there's no need to be jealous!"

He saw Levi raise an eyebrow at him as he gave him a look. Raen laughed, likely his brother even more by the second. Turning to Ari he spoke, "Why don't you tell Levi where to go? I shall be be behind as you walk, I just have to talk with Aidem and Karay for a moment. I shall join you again!"

He quickly turned back and walked beside Aidem and Karay. He drew to a halt and looked around him before whispering,
"I am going on a quest soon. We shall be leaving the city and travelling to I'm not sure where, but would you two like to accompany us? I don't know too much about the quest but I have been asked to find the elf who is searching for companions to aid him and offer my services. Would you be interested in joining me? It promises to be a very interesting journey!" he finished, a dark glint in his eye.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Levi walked beside Ari as they made their way to the inn. They were silent. Finally Levi broke the silence,
"So..... how do you know Raen? What can you tell me about him?" Seeing the confused look she gave him, he quickly added, "I don't know him very well as we only met last night!"
Aidem saw Levi grin darkly at the mention of Lady Silamiren's name. A scowl crossed his face and he glared at Levi before muttering to himself 'Perhaps if you ask Levi, you'll find that she's been unfortunately, and most rudely, detained.'
'So I trust he has been behaving himself?' Ari asked, smiling slightly.
His scowl was quickly replaced with a grin as Aidem replied, 'Behave himself? Raen?' He couldn't help but laugh. The thought of Raen behaving himself was simply ludicrous. He sighed, still grinning at the mock offence in Raen's voice as he declared that he had , in fact, been behaving himself.
'Oh, of course! He's only broken out of prison, and set an inn on fire. I know you'll find it difficult to believe, but Raen accomplished this amazing feat in less than twenty-four hours.'
The conversation between the other's progressed as Raen invited Ari to stay with him. Idly listening to what was said, Aidem found himself wondering if this was where they'd part ways. Raen and Karay had helped him get out of prison and that was that. There was no need to hang around any more. He felt some regret for perhaps having to leave, but then again, he had always been alone.
Aidem couldn't help but sneer at Levi's back as he turned away. At least if he did go back to almost normal life he wouldn't have to be in Levi's company. Aidem began to walk away from the group, ready to part when he saw Raen fall behind the others for a moment. He quickly wiped the scowl from his face as Raen told him of this expedition he would be going on. Eyes glittering, Aidem listened as Raen invited them along.
'I'm thoroughly intrigued,' Aidem said, a grin creeping across his face. 'Is he coming?' he gestured to Levi, contempt obvious in his voice. Aidem sighed, supposing he was.
'Well, you obviously won't drag me along on this quest of yours just for company, so what do I have to do if I accept? How long will this take, and when are we leaving?' Aidem asked, contemplating whether or not to add a 'What's in it for me?' Suspicion was in his nature, he was a thief. Aidem knew that nothing came for free, and he suspected Raen did as well. He yawned, and began walking again.
(Im back tracking a little)
A marmalade light dawned with a flush of colour of Minas Tirith. Everything was quiet except for the odd voice or restless animal. The ray of a tangerine sun spread its warming fingers through the window in a house sitting in Minas Tirith.
It had been lucky for the weakened Altariel to find herself lying in comfort in such a place.
She turned over and yawned deeply. Then realizing that morning had awoken she sat up very stiffly and walked over to the window. The morning had brought sleepy people on to the streets ready for the day ahead. She suddenly caught sight of a black horse nibbling at a tuft of mislayed grass. Her mind flew suddenly to her horse. Where was he?
Her muscles ached as she stood frozen with fright at how she didnt know where the injured horse was.
Maybe Alagithildin will know she thought frowning. Then she proceeded back to sit down to wait for movement of the others.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There is nothing to be forgiven Sir Evethire,”
“My name is Aireon, and I thank you for being so courteous.”

Evethire stared back at the fair maiden and listened to her fair words. It was a friendly voice he thought.

“I am not trying to impose upon your quest, but I have been on many travels with Ëorlas, and it would be more then an honor to help the two of you on your journey. I shall cook, clean, or whatever you like.”

Evethire felt himself go a little red over his thin cheekbones.
"My Lady Aireon, you do not need to work to join us. Your company is just enough."he looked back at Eorlas"but it will be perilious, and I do believe Im not the only one who has heard the story of its existance."

“I shall fight to the end, and am a pretty good shot with a bow, that is to say only that I learned from the best,” At the last sentence she put a soft, thankful hand on Ëorlas’ shoulder.

"I would not doubt that." he muttered overcome with joy at his luck.

Suddenly Evethires elvish ears heard hooves galloping towards them. He looked to see where they were from but not a sign of an animal anywhere. He looked back at them and asked "Where are you staying?"

'Behave himself? Raen?'

Raen grinned at Aidem's response.

'Oh, of course! He's only broken out of prison, and set an inn on fire. I know you'll find it difficult to believe, but Raen accomplished this amazing feat in less than twenty-four hours.'

Raen laughed and replied, "Well let us see what we can pack into the next twenty-four!" Turning to Ari he continued, "You see? I've been as good as gold!" He winked at her.

~*~

'I'm thoroughly intrigued,' Aidem said, a grin creeping across his face. 'Is he coming?'

Raen smirked, "Yes he's coming! What exactly happened between you two? It's hard not to notice that the pair of you detest each other! I have to admit I barely know him, yet I like him already - he seems to share a similar personality as myself!"

'Well, you obviously won't drag me along on this quest of yours just for company, so what do I have to do if I accept? How long will this take, and when are we leaving?' Aidem asked.

Raen grinned and replied eagerly, "You left out the 'what's in it for me' bit!" he laughed, knowing from the look on Aidem's face that that was what he wanted to ask. "Well, I have no idea how long it will take or where we are going but it'll only make it all the more exciting! As for what do you have to do...." he paused, looking thoughtful, ".....well merely keep me company......at first!" a sly smile crept across his face as his eyes lit up dangerously, "Then I guess .... you can help me. Yes. I am not sure of the size of the company we will be travelling in.." he muttered the last part more to himself than anyone as his crooked mind began scheming away.

Realising that he had stopped in mid sentence, he quickly focused on the conversation and finished, "As for what's in it for you....." he grinned again, "Well how about six large bags of gold?"

"Well let us see what we can pack into the next twenty-four!You see? I've been as good as gold!"

Ari laughed, this was the answer she'd expected. It would have been a great surprise to her if he hadn't been in jail in the past twenty-four hours.

She started to walk with Levi as Raen went to talk to the others that were with him.

"So..... how do you know Raen? What can you tell me about him?"

"Well, I know he's in jail a lot. We actually met in jail. Actually, I got him into jail. Actually," she frowned,"that's not true. Sila got us both in jail. My first time in a Gondorian jail, but it seemed to be second nature to him. Then I learned about him being an assassin."

Levi seemed disappointed, perhaps he already knew all of this about Raen.

"Also, he never told me about a twin brother. You two do look exactly alike. It's a wonder I didn't think you were him."

"So I've heard," Levi said, perhaps he was already tired of being a twin.

"Let me see, what else should you know about Raen. Well, he does seem to like being with others, and I have known him to be rather fond of pubs. He likes pipeweed, too, nearly killed all of us in that tiny little cell, all of that choking smoke. He does seem to be very familiar with getting out of jail, no doubt it was the first time he'd done so."

Ari looked back at him, but found him deep in conversation with the other two. She was curious, but kept on walking with Levi.

((Hey, Lor!!!! Welcome! Lor and Arwen, get your tushies back to the...wherever...and let me out! I don't like being shut up in a closet! :love: ))

Sila alternately sulked and yelled at the two people that were outside the dark closet that she was in.

"Let me out, would you? PLEASE!" she paused for a moment, listening for a reply. None came, and she started pounding on the door again. "Hey, can you hear me? Let me out!" Sila flopped to the ground with a huff. It was just like Raen to leave her here by not "meddling" in other people's business. If Ari were here, she thought, She would set him straight, I'd bet my last bit of gold on it!

'SIX?!' 'Large?!' Aidem couldn't stop himself from staring at Raen in disbelief. 'Yeah, that'll only the most money I've possessed in my whole life.' Aidem rolled his eyes. Raen may have been used to large salaries and bags of gold being paid left and right, but Aidem's life was far from lavish. In fact, it was barely satisfactory.

He paused, considering Raen's query as to hat had happened between him and Levi. He rolled his eyes and replied, 'Uhm, yeah, I'll tell you later, if you still want to know. Kind of petty, I suppose, but I still don't like him.' Aidem didn't hesitate to admit it. If it was so plain, there was no use denying it.

'So, when would we leave? Obviously not today, but I'm ready whenever you are. Not like I have tons of things to pack,' Aidem said, grinning.

The thief couldn't help but wonder at the way Raen's eyes had lit up when the topic of what he had to do came up. A tiny doubt creeped nto the back of his mind, like a thin fog, realizing how much trust he had placed in Raen. Aidem shook his head, trying to shake his doubts, hating how suspicious he was of everyone at times

Alagithildin's almond eyes opened slowely then quikly shut tight again at the harsh light of morning that filtered in through the window. She began to ease herself into conciousness, she would rise but she refused to shine until she was totally ready, she had never been a morning person although if needed she could wake up at unearthly hours. Slipping out of bed she stretched and yawned. The slice of silver reflected the morning sun as she looked out the window and glimmered brightly. Alagithildin made her way towards Randir's room and walked in silently, How wonderful it was to be an elf! she thought to herself as she grabbed hold of the end of Randir's blankets as he slept. Then with one great tug she pulled them all off, "Rise and shine you lazy lump of human flesh!" She yelled. Randir half jumped and half tried to walk at the same time causing him to make an awkward movement which resulted in him on the floor looking around franticly and Alagithildin lying on the bed in fits of giggles. He frowned at her, "You crazy, pointy eared, menace! Have you now manners?! I was sleeping!" He ran over and lifted the she elf bodily and carried her down the hall kicking and laughing, then outside to where the horses were tethered, Alagithildin saw where he was headed and kicked out all the harder, but to no avail, she was thrown into the freezing water of the horse trough. She popped her head out of the water and gasped for breath, she could not feel the cold, but being dumped into a barrel of water in the morning was not her idea of fun. "How rude! You ignorant little welp! That's no way to treat a lady!" She shouted at him as she climbed out of the trough, he laughed heartily at her then spat back, "Ah, yes my fair Alagithildin, what you say may be true, but you have to admit, I do learn from the best!" He walked over to her and helped her out then carried her back into his house. The pair had never been totaly enclined to be serious most of the time, in fact Alagithildin was never very elf-like in her mannerisms. She prefered joking and laughing to the serious, beautifly composed characteristics of everyday elves, and often found that she didn't quite fit in when she was around her kindren. She took to wandering, and in doing so met up with Randir, who was a young lad at the time. She took him in, for his parents had abandond him, and together they wandered Middle Earth, until he found his talent in making weapons and decided to settle in Minis Tirith and Alagithildin went on wandering without him often returning to check up on him.

Altariel came out into the livingroom where Alagithildin was drying off, "Good morning Altariel! I hope we did not wake you with that racket! Would you like something to eat?" She asked Altariel smiling at her good naturedly.

(Don't worry Rosie as soon as Levi has dumped that crowd at Raen's 'lavish home' he's going straight back to pick her up! Oh and let's just say that Levi is bringing her back as a surprise renuion for Ari!! So she won't know until Sila arrives! )

"Well, I know he's in jail a lot. We actually met in jail. Actually, I got him into jail. Actually," she frowned,"that's not true. Sila got us both in jail. My first time in a Gondorian jail, but it seemed to be second nature to him. Then I learned about him being an assassin."

Levi shrugged, a slight look of disappointment on his face. He had gathered that Raen had been in prison a lot - much like himself. He looked over at Ari when she mention that she was in prison and grinned when he heard that it was Sila who had landed them there.

"Also, he never told me about a twin brother. You two do look exactly alike. It's a wonder I didn't think you were him."

"So I've heard," Levi replied quietly, fed up with everyone thinking he was Raen.

"Let me see, what else should you know about Raen. Well, he does seem to like being with others, and I have known him to be rather fond of pubs. He likes pipeweed, too, nearly killed all of us in that tiny little cell, all of that choking smoke. He does seem to be very familiar with getting out of jail, no doubt it wasn't the first time he'd done so."

Levi perked up at this and grinned, "Well I see that he can't be so bad after all - he is quite like me although I highly doubt he can escape from any prison as quickly as I! Levi's black eyes shone, "He never told you that he had a twin brother because he didn't know himself. We only knew of each other's existence last night!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'SIX?!' 'Large?!' Aidem couldn't stop himself from staring at Raen in disbelief. 'Yeah, that'll only the most money I've possessed in my whole life.'
Raen grinned broadly at Aidem, knowing that he would not refuse. "Well, it's about time you made a bit of money for yourself! Also, if you're really good you might get more!! Who knows - prehaps you might be able to buy a palace like my own! Wait until you see it!"
'Uhm, yeah, I'll tell you later, if you still want to know. Kind of petty, I suppose, but I still don't like him.'
Raen nodded, respecting that Aidem disliked his brother. A sly look crossed his face. He wondered what the journey would be like with the two of them travelling together. Interesting .... certainly.
'So, when would we leave? Obviously not today, but I'm ready whenever you are. Not like I have tons of things to pack,' Aidem said, grinning.
"Well I am ready as I am! However, although you don't have tons to pack, we have tons to get before we go and I shall need your help!" he replied. "Also we have an elf to find! But before all that I need some breakfast, I am absolutely starving!"
Finally they reached the inn. Raen swiftly climbed up to the window Ari was pointing at and jumped inside. Moments later, he reappeared with his arms full of Ari's things and a lot of things belonging to the inn. He landed back on the ground as softly as a cat. "I thought these might come in handy!" he told them as he motioned to the various objects he had taken.
They continued to cross the city, Raen skillfully picking up bits of food and drink secretly from under their owner's noses before they realised anything. He was going to be prepared for guests this time. His arms were soon full so he passed the items over to Aidem and Karay to carry. They reached the outskirts of the city.
Dashing ahead happily, Raen left Aidem and Karay struggling behind everyone with the bits and pieces he had collected. Finally he stopped outside the city. He waited in front of a very old and dilapidated ruin of a house. It would have been a grand house a long time ago, but now it was barely standing. More than half of the roof had vanished and there were only part of the walls left. Even as Raen stood, some stones from the top of a wall fell crashing to the ground. He grinned. He was home.
"Welcome to my sumptuous abode!" he called out and bowed mockingly, "What do you think Ari? A little more antique since your last visit?"
Without another word, he led them forward towards the house. once they got to the doorway, Raen lightly pushed the door open and it fell off its hinges. "Watch you head as you come in! And don't talk to loudly or you'll find an avalanche of stones coming down on you!" he warned. It was surprising to think that someone like Raen who was paid a handsome salary would live in such conditions, but he had lived on the streets and could never imagine life any other way. Besides, his own money never lasted very long.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Levi looked up at the ruin with scepticism. He himself preferred a more solid structure that was not threatening to fall and crush him at any given moment, but he could see why Raen had adopted it. He shrugged casually and stepped inside. He looked around to see half a staircase, dusty open passages and walls that were caving in, not to mention the roof or the ceilings which were full of holes. There were cobwebs and signs of decay in every corner.

He grinned. It certainly was an interesting domicile. Pulling Raen aside, he quietly whispered to him and pointed to the ground. Raen nodded and replied, "Why of course I do!"

Levi nodded and muttered something else before swiftly leaving them and disappearing back to the city. He kept up a fast pace and retraced his steps back to Asgar's.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Raen looked at the others and grinned good-humouredly at them all. Quickly grabbing the things from Aidem and Karay he looked over what he had stolen. Four bottles of wine, six loaves of bread, two candles, some kind of stew in a pot, five plates, three mugs and a large basket of apples. He set the things out and lit his pipe satisfactorily with some weed that he pulled out of his pocket.
"Well sit down everyone and make yourselves comfortable! Eat a good breakfast for we have some things to do after and people to find!" he grinned at them all holding his pipe between his teeth. "And for today's breakfast we have.... freshly baked bread straight from the fire, hand picked apples, wine from my own vineyard and..." he lifted the lid of the stew and made a funny face, "Stew special made by myself!" Raen quickly replaced the lid and pushed it away from him. He then proceeded to light the candles.
When he was done, he quickly slipped his hands around Ari's waist and pulled her down beside him. Kissing her softly on the cheek he inquired, "Now what would my lady like to eat?"
Glancing over at Aidem he added, "And I suggest you serve Lady Karay before yourself also Aidem!" he grinned at Karay, "Make sure he behaves himself!"
"Well I see that he can't be so bad after all - he is quite like me although I highly doubt he can escape from any prison as quickly as I! He never told you that he had a twin brother because he didn't know himself. We only knew of each other's existence last night!"
Ari smiled to herself at the friendly competitiveness between the two brothers, and noted that they were indeed very much alike.
When they reached the inn, Raen climbed up the side into her room, swiftly grabbing her things and a few others. She gave a mock frown to him, but he only grinned cheerfully and tossed her pack of things.
They walked out to his home in silence, Raen running ahead like an excited child ready to show off.
When they arrived, a few more stones crumbled off the edge as Ari surveyed the change to the building. One of the walls in the back had crumbled, and the front door seemed about to collapse, which it did when Raen pushed it open.
"What do you think Ari? A little more antique since your last visit?"
"A little?" She looked at all the parts of the house that were missing. Ah, well, it still had a roof and four walls. Well, at the moment it did.
Levi left almost immediately, which Ari wondered about, but Raen soon laid out breakfast for them. Pulling her down beside him, he asked her:
"Now what would my lady like to eat?"
Ari surveyed the meal, finally picking up the loaf of bread and tearing off a few slices. She offered one to Raen, and began eating one herself.
"Been a long time since I had a decent meal," she said while eating. "What about you? What had you been doing before you got yourself into jail again? And you," she looked at Aidem and Karay,"how did you get yourselves mixed up with a criminal like this?" She said teasingly, looking at Raen to see what he thought of this description.
(Oooh, don't worry Rosie, Ari'll set him straight )
Aidem raised an eyebrow at Raen, wondering what he was getting himself into. The thief was going to return to his home, if it could be ventured to call it that, but instead found himself being led away from the vicinity around Asgar's place. Sighing, he followed the group in silence, which was very unusual.
They reached the inn and Raen climbed through a window, reappearing some minutes later bearing an armful of Ari's things and other objects, which Aidem suspected belonged to the inn. Dropping back to the ground softly, he commented on the objects' potential practicality.
Raen managed to purloin most of their future breakfast as the group crossed the city. Soon, however, much to his dismay, Aidem found himself carrying armfuls of food and other items. Shrugging, he most unceremoniously dumped the greater portion of the items on Karay with smirk. All the while, Raen sprinted ahead of the group giddily.
'I don't even get that spastic drunk,' Aidem muttered under his breath. not entirely truthfully. Of course, he didn't actually believe what several people, mostly prison guards, had said about his antics the night before.
The group came to an abrupt halt in front of a dilapidated,decaying house that may have once been quite regal. Aidem shrugged as they entered the house and the door fell off it's hinges. Better than what I got, he thought. Raen quickly relieved Aidem and Karay of grocery duty and inspected what he managed to pilfer. Aidem couldn't help but roll his eyes, wondering how managed to get away with stealing stew still in the pot. As weird as it was, Aidem hated eating in front of others and would prefer to go hungry.
'Oh, please, I told you I don't layer on the fake charm and there's no reason to start now..' Aidem replied to Raen's suggestion. However, he couldn't manage a flawlessly good-natured 'My Lady,' that would have had any maiden who didn't know him well enough swooning. He completed the display of charm with an elegantly flourished gesture to the not-so-elegant selection of food.
(Hey-Im home at last!)
Altariel heard quite a rumpass in another part of the house. She smiled to herself and got up as she heard a great splash outside. As she heard the voices of Alagithildin and Randir come back into the house she proceeded to the door.
"Ah, yes my fair Alagithildin, what you say may be true, but you have to admit, I do learn from the best!" Randir was saying.
Altariel advanced to the livingroom, her dress made a quiet dragging sound.
She went in to find Alagithildin as wet as the sea. She couldnt help but feel a grin cross her fair face. Though it quickly turned into a frown from politness.
"Good morning." she spoke with a slightly shakey voice.
"Good morning Altariel! I hope we did not wake you with that racket! Would you like something to eat?"Alagithildin asked friendly.
Altariel had forgotten all about food, she hadn't eaten in quite a while. Her calm voice was about to refuse the offer when her stomach rummbled with reply.
"Excuse me,"she laughed "If it isnt to much trouble for you, I would love some. You have done so much for me already which I thank you for greatly." Serithion slipped briefly to the back of her mind for the moment, anyway.
(SORRY IT IS SO SHORT! :blush: )
"Been a long time since I had a decent meal," she said while eating. "What about you? What had you been doing before you got yourself into jail again? And you," she looked at Aidem and Karay,"how did you get yourselves mixed up with a criminal like this?"
Raen took the bread Ari had offered him and chewed on it hungrily. He lisented to Ari and stopped chewing thoughtfully. "Well....." he began, thinking back to what he had been doing. He wasn't sure what to say to her. He knew that she did not approve of his occupation, but he saw no reason to lie to her. Deciding to tell her what he had been doing apart from working he shrugged and continued, "...I've just been hanging around and causing trouble that's all! I've missed you!" he added. Raen laughed suddenly, "May I inform you Ari that these two here aren't as innocent as you may think!"
Raen looked at her brushed a strand of hair from her face."So am I to believe that my Ari has not been eating properly? What have you been doing after you disappeared?"
'Oh, please, I told you I don't layer on the fake charm and there's no reason to start now..' Aidem replied to Raen's suggestion.
"There's plenty of reason Aidem!" Raen teased. He grinned as he watched Aidem and Karay. Suddenly his eyes shone as he remembered his brother. Turning back to Ari he exclaimed excitedly, "Levi shall be back presently! He has a surprise for you Ari!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Levi crashed through Asgar's door and came down the steps. He found Asgar writing at his desk, as usual. Asgar looked up questioningly and mocked, "Back so soon are we? Is your brother too much of a handful?"

Levi gave Asgar a scathing look and retorted, "Of course not! I'm taking her with me."

"Are you leaving already?" Asgar asked eagerly.

"No, but I don't like to keep my captives so far away. I am hiding her elsewhere before we leave. Besides.." he grinned wickedly, "... I have a surprise for her!"

Asgar frowned, "You full well know the rules Levi! Lay but a finger on her and you will pay with your head!"

Levi rolled his eyes dismissively and shook his head, "Must you always think I have ill intentions planned Asgar?! I am well aware of the rules and the surprise I have in store for her is nothing of the sort!" he spat, "Now if you'd be so kind..." he nodded towards the door which Sila was behind. Asgar grumbled and stood up, unlocking it swiftly.

"Well take her away! She cause too much of a racket here anyway!"

Levi smirked and grabbed Sila as she came out. Waving a hand behind him in farewell to Asgar, he led her out onto the streets. He put his arm under her cloak and around her waist as before, his dagger at her side. Grinning he spoke to her, "Glad to see me again Lady Silamiren? I have a surprise for you!" they turned down another street, "But breath a word and I shall lock you in a smaller place than Asgar's!"

"Don't worry, I'll behave." Sila muttered as she glared at Levi. They walked to the outskirts of the city before she realized where they were going. "Oh, don't tell me we're going to that ruin Raen calls a house!" Sila broke into a smile as she saw the crumbling building. She had been there once before, and had had a rather enjoyable time stargazing on the roof with Raen and another friend, Vana. Levi sighed.

"Yes, we're going here. Don't know why he likes it here really." he muttered, and stopped in the doorway. "I have a bit of a surprise for you, my dear." he grinned mischieviously at Sila, who rolled her eyes.

"Whatever it is, I'll enjoy it if I'm inside." she brushed past Levi with all the grace and airs of a noble lady, then stopped stock still when she saw the girl sitting next to Raen. "ARI!!!!" Sila rushed to her friend's side and threw her arms around her neck. "Oh, Ari, you wouldn't believe it! I had just got back and this--this...Levi person kidnapped me and I thought it was Raen and I couldn't believe he would do that and then Raen came, but he wouldn't even try to get them to let me go, and I was locked in this tiny closet in Asgar's rooms and it was terrible and I am so glad to see you!" Sila finished as she ran out of breath. Raen let out a low wistle and laughed quietly while Ari tried to regain her bearings.

"It's good to see you, too, Sila." she said finally.

Aidem seated himself and slumped in his chair as the others ate. He yawned at the conversation and glanced around, pleased, yet suspicious at the disappearance of Levi. Shrugging, the thief fiddled with the dagger at his side. For the first time, he realized that the maiden, Ari, had asked him a question. He looked up at Ari, a little dazed.

'Huh? Oh, uhm, right, how I know Raen. Uh, I don't, really, I just escaped prison with him last night.....' he shrugged. Raen took advantage of the break in conversation to insert a comment about the pair's innocence.

'Well, that's not nice, Raen! I wouldn't like to have my bright and shining reputation tarnished!' Aidem then quickly mouthed 'He's a liar!' to Ari, and grinned, before gazing around innocently.

The conversation then turned back between Ari and Raen, and Aidem almost wished for someone to shoot dirty looks at.
Soon, however, Levi returned, followed by a maiden who burst in the door so suddenly, she almost caused Aidem to fall out of his chair. She rushed over to Ari and threw her arms around her in a tremendous hug. Blinking, Aidem steadied his chair, as the maiden poured forth a rapid stream of words. The theif recognized the lady as Sila, whom Levi had kidnapped. Scathing insults, directed at Levi floated to the top of his mind, but Aidem ignored them as Sila finished her torrent of words.

'So, you finally decided to show some courtesy to Lady Sila, and let her out of that closet, huh, Levi?' Aidem asked dryly. He leaned back in his chair and flashed a sarcastic grin at Raen's twin.

Ëorlas saw Evethire smirk at him mischievously. "I always knew you as the one who would go looking for trouble!.... Only joking,” he laughed, watching the expression grow on Ëorlas's face. He frowned at Evethire for a short while, then a smile grew on his lips, until he let out a laugh.

"I don't go looking for trouble,..for it comes to me." he trailed off sarcastically, and laughing once more.

Ëorlas asked the where abouts of this family heirloom Evethire was seeking. He felt it strange that he had never heard of such, but it only made him eager to find out more. A strong breeze suddenly blew through the streets as Evethire quickly told Ëorlas the little he knew.

Evethire's face grew serious. "Well," he started " I don’t exactly know of its rightful position but I know there is some speak of the Iron Hills in the tale. It is a stone or jewel that attracts my eye but it lies with a great deal of treasure, so it is said. Not much is known of the stone but it is very precious and valuable. Though Ëorlas, I didn’t mean for you to commit yourself or anyone else to come along."

He let Evethire's words register in his mind, and nodded.
"But if you would I would be in your dept forever." Evethire added, and Ëorlas smiled.

While Evethire kindly introduced himself to Aireon, Ëorlas looked at the ground thinking. He turned toward the two just as they were finished introducing themselves, and Aireon flashed him one of her breathtaking smiles.

“I am not trying to impose upon your quest, but I have been on many travels with Ëorlas, and it would be more then an honor to help the two of you on your journey. I shall cook, clean, or whatever you like.”

At Aireon’s words, he saw Evethire’s cheeks start to blush slightly.
“My Lady Aireon, you do not need to work to join us. Your company is just enough.” he looked back at Ëorlas, "but it will be perilous, and I do believe I’m not the only one who has heard the story of its existence."

Ëorlas looked at Evethire and nodded. “So we mustn’t linger here much longer.” He stated.

With a final note of confidence Aireon added, “I shall fight to the end, and am a pretty good shot with a bow, that is to say only that I learned from the best,” At the last sentence she put a soft, thankful hand on Ëorlas’ shoulder.

He looked down and smiled at her, but turned back to Evethire as he felt his cheeks getting hot. Evethire was standing completely still, as if to listen for something. His head turned toward the direction in which the noise was coming from. Ëorlas heard the noise too, as well as Aireon. They all took around, their eyes scanning the surroundings, but there was nothing, and the galloping suddenly disappeared.

"Where are you staying?" Evethire asked, once all doubt of something approaching had faded.

Ëorlas looked at Aireon at that question. He was not staying anywhere, for he had spent the night before on a desolate plain. He saw Aireon look up at him, and he knew exactly what was on her mind. Would she tell Evethire who she was, and where she had spent the night, or keep it hidden for fear of wonder…

“I’ve only just arrived this morning.” Ëorlas said, “Where have you been staying?”
Evethire shook his head, “I arrived this morning as well.”

Ëorlas sighed. “We may need to find another inn, and swiftly.” He said looking at the rubble from what was left of the inn in the growing darkness. “Most places are skeptical of customers after nightfall.”

As they walked along the street searching for a place to stay, Ëorlas began to wonder about this treasure, but decided not to ask any questions until morning.

A few minutes later, they came to a busy street corner, even at this hour of the night. On the corner stood an inn, with many lights lit in side. The sound of people laughing, drunken men singing, and glasses clanking could be heard from outside. Ëorlas looked at Evethire and Aireon, and they agreed to check the place out. As the walked to the door, Ëorlas read the sign hanging from above, it read: The White Tree. They filed in and searched the surrounds, unlike most inns’ Ëorlas had been to; no one was staring at him. Decorations and paintings hung from the wooden walls. It was very warm and cozy, and there were no seats available anywhere. Ëorlas and Aireon followed Evethire to the front desk.

A tall stocky man with a short brown beard came up to the desk. “Can I help you three? He asked looking up them, not liking the fact at all that the two cousins’ were taller than him.
“Do you have any rooms available?” Evethire asked.
“Yes.”
“Good we’ll take them.”

A barmaid led them up to their rooms, and they all fell asleep in their beds.

'Well, that's not nice, Raen! I wouldn't like to have my bright and shining reputation tarnished!'

Raen smirked and replied, "What bright and shining reputation? You haven't got one!"

He looked over to the door as he heard something but realised that it was only a stone dislodging itself from the wall. In the corner of his eye, Raen saw Aidem mouthing something to Ari and he quickly spun his head around. Aidem was looking innocently around him and Ari was looking at the open roof above them. He cocked an eyebrow and glanced between them quizzically. "Alright! What did I miss?!"

He awaited their response. However, next moment, voices could be heard outside and a figure came to the door. Raen grinned, "Ah! Here is your surprise Ari!" he jested as Sila came running in and called out to Ari.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Don't worry, I'll behave." Sila muttered as she glared at Levi.
Levi merely grinned back at her and continued walking. Soon they reached the outskirts of the city. Sila seemed to know where she was going and exclaimed,"Oh, don't tell me we're going to that ruin Raen calls a house!"
"Yes, we're going here. Don't know why he likes it here really." he muttered, and stopped in the doorway. "I have a bit of a surprise for you, my dear." he grinned mischieviously at Sila, who rolled her eyes.
"Whatever it is, I'll enjoy it if I'm inside."
Levi shrugged as Sila brushed gracefully past him. He heard her suddenly cry out to Ari. Shaking his head, Levi stepped inside the open doorway and looked about him, seeing that the others were already hungrily eating. He leant against the wall and began to chew on some weed, having lost his pipe and watched the scene before him.
"Oh, Ari, you wouldn't believe it! I had just got back and this--this...Levi person kidnapped me and I thought it was Raen and I couldn't believe he would do that and then Raen came, but he wouldn't even try to get them to let me go, and I was locked in this tiny closet in Asgar's rooms and it was terrible and I am so glad to see you!"
Raen let out a low whistle and laughed at Sila's sudden outburst. "Why anyone would think Levi treated you badly Sila!"
Levi looked over at his brother and grinned. "Oh really now Lady Silamiren, I didn't treat you that badly!! In fact I didn't treat you badly at all, even Raen agrees with me! If you want to know the difference then I shall. I think you are over-exaggerating a bit, after all, you did have a little too much wine!"
'So, you finally decided to show some courtesy to Lady Sila, and let her out of that closet, huh, Levi?'
Levi turned and looked at Aidem, his black eyes, icy cold and precarious. He saw the sarcastic smile Aidem gave him and replied frostily, "It is clear that there are some here who should still be in the closet and never let out in the first place!" he spat.
He turned slightly to the side, but kept Aidem in the corner of his eye. Ignoring him, he turned to look at Ari and see what she had to say of the whole situation.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Raen listened to Aidem and Levi as they spoke disgustedly to one another. He knew that the dislike between the pair of them had grown and their hatred for one another nearly had them at each other's throats. He watched them, greatly amused and made no intentions of stepping in.

"So am I to believe that my Ari has not been eating properly? What have you been doing after you disappeared?"

"Nothing, really, just went back home for a while, before coming back to find Sila." Ari said to him, while chewing on her bread. It was a bit hard, but she ate anyways.

'He's a liar!' Aidem mouthed to her behind Raen's back, after he made some comment to Aidem. She struggled to hide her smile as Raen looked at the pair of them.

"Oh, Ari, you wouldn't believe it! I had just got back and this--this...Levi person kidnapped me and I thought it was Raen and I couldn't believe he would do that and then Raen came, but he wouldn't even try to get them to let me go, and I was locked in this tiny closet in Asgar's rooms and it was terrible and I am so glad to see you!"

Ari looked shocked at this sudden outburst, but hugged her friend back. It had indeed been a long time since they last saw eachother.

"It's nice to see you too, Sila," she said with a smile, but then frowned as she turned to look at Raen.

"You kept Sila locked in a closet?" She asked, staring at him in disbelief. "Or, you let him keep her locked in a closet?"

Her tone had changed, now her voice was a mixture of confusion and anger.

"Surely you wouldn't keep her locked in a closet with that horrible Asgar." She looked at him, hoping for reassurance, but found a sheepish look on his face.

“I’ve only just arrived this morning.” Ëorlas said, “Where have you been staying?”Evethire shook his head, “I arrived this morning as well.”
After deciding to seek a inn to stay at, they strolled down in search.

A few minutes later, they came to a busy street corner, even at this hour of the night. Eorlas spotted an inn. It looked happy and able for a few more people.

The sound of people laughing, drunken men singing, and glasses clanking could be heard from outside.

They decided to try their luck here.
As they proceeded in Eorlas informed then it was called "The White Tree".
Evethire was glad to receive the warmth and joyful sound after the silent cold dark streets that lay outside.
He looked around in hope but not a vacant seat was present.
So Evethire headed for the front desk, knocking a few people on the way.He would quickly mutter "Sorry"

Ëorlas and Aireon followed Evethire to the front desk.

As they got there and stood patiently a well built man approached and asked heartedly
“Can I help you three?
He seemed a little perturbed at the size of the men.
“Do you have any rooms available?” Evethire asked drawing his attension back from Aireon.
“Yes.”he grunted.
“Good we’ll take them.”looking at the others.

A barmaid led them up to their rooms. There was three pretty rooms available all in a smart row.
Evethire spoke softly as not to wake other guests sleeping soundly a goodnight both to Eorlas and Aireon. He declared that they had better wake at a good hour,then turned to venture into his room laden with a soft bed and heavy wardrobe. He first removed his elven cloak and went to the window capturing night. His looked up at the stars and they looked down, he hoped that his ambitions were not just a journey to a bottomless pit.
"Where evr you may be Father, I hope you respect my wishes"he muttered into the silent sky.
Tirness drifted to his sight, so after staring longly he retreated to his bed to sleep and recover his strength.

(I have to go now but I will finish it soon-hope it is alright! )

Aidem stiffened in his chair, growling at Levi, 'Some of us would be lucky if the best that they deserved was being locked in a closet.' His fists clenched and he met the man's icy stare with a smouldering glare of his own. Taking his hand away from his dagger, Aidem told himself it wasn't worth it, as by this time, Ari seemed quite perturbed at the thought of Sila being locked in a closet, with Asgar, nonetheless. A devilish grin crept across Aidem's face, and he shrugged, not being able to stop himself from thinking, Now Levi's in trouble with Ari..... . He laughed quietly and tried to calm himself. Muttering under his breath, Aidem couldn't help but notice that Raen took great amusement from watching the two clash. He sighed, not expecting any less.

'Surely you wouldn't keep her locked in a closet with that horrible Asgar,' Ari asked, evidently hoping for some reassurance from either of the twins. Aidem's eyes lit up and he seized the moment before Raen or Levi could.

'Yeah, she was locked in a closet alright.' Aidem stood up, leaning on the surface which the food was set. 'A horrible closet that bore remarkable resemblance to a prison cell. So livid with her treatment, was the lovely Sila, that she continued to ignore me, even after I kindly showed some interest in her situation, though I can't say I blame her for doing so. Isn't that right, my Lady?' he flashed his most alluring grin at Sila, quite pleased with himself. It appeared that Aidem had found a use for fake charm after all. He grinned broadly as he glanced at Levi, thrilled with this most enticing chance for revenge.

Karay watched the others silently which was surprising usually not being able to keep her mouth shut when around others. She had een watching just as Raen had been doing, Levi and Aidem go at it with words mostly. Usually she might have stepped in but she was bored that day even with the exictement of having set Raen and Aidem free.

She looked at the other two women with them. She caught the smile that Aidem flashed to Sila after he spoke. The brown eyed woman smirked,"I suggest you try not to use that smile again Aidem, it might just scare her off."

(hey guys sorry I didn't post the other night - I have the flu and I feel rotten so please excuse this post if it's badly written!)

"You kept Sila locked in a closet?" She asked, staring at him in disbelief. "Or, you let him keep her locked in a closet?"

Raen opened his mouth to protest, but she continued, her voice now confused and angered.

"Surely you wouldn't keep her locked in a closet with that horrible Asgar."

Raen looked at Ari sheepishly and quickly began to think of excuses in his mind. Suddenly he heard Aidem talking from behind him,

'Yeah, she was locked in a closet alright.' Aidem stood up,'A horrible closet that bore remarkable resemblance to a prison cell. So livid with her treatment, was the lovely Sila, that she continued to ignore me, even after I kindly showed some interest in her situation, though I can't say I blame her for doing so. Isn't that right, my Lady?'

"Hey, that closet isn't that bad you know!" Raen protested, "I've hidden in there many an occasion!" Turning back to Ari he began guiltily, "Well, it's not my business to go meddling in other people's affairs Ari, the rule is that you stick to your own! And besides, if I thought for a moment that Levi was mistreating her in any way I would've stepped in immediately!" he objected.

Raen filled his eyes with an apologetic look and squeezed her hand.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(oooooooooh these two really hate each other don't they?!)
'Some of us would be lucky if the best that they deserved was being locked in a closet.'
Levi glared back at Aidem but remained silent and turned away from him. He fingered his own dagger but decided against it. He knew that Raen was very laid back and easy going but he wanted to get to know him better before he started attacking his friends.
After he heard Aidem's outburst, his eyes blazed. He listened to Raen and grinned. Muttering over his shoulder he replied, "And what's wrong with a prison cell? Or are these things too beneath you, Your Majesty!" Levi mocked at Aidem.
Looking at Ari he spoke calmly, "Now, don't even think I treated her badly! Can you see a single scratch on her? I promise you I didn't harm her in the slightest!"
"I suggest you try not to use that smile again Aidem, it might just scare her off."
Levi turned when he heard Karay and burst out laughing, "Well said! Your name is Karay I believe, is it not? I haven't had the chance to speak with you!"
Raen looked at them all, "Well I must say that I cannot grin at any lady as Aidem can!"
He watched Levi and Aidem and made a mental note to ask Aidem what had caused such hate between them.
(((Yeah, it seems they do... Certainly brings some energy to the scene though, doesn't it? I think he's gonna totally explode with Levi AND Karay picking on him.....)))
'Why of course not, Master Levi! Really, though I was saying they were beneath the lovely Lady Sila here, but i can't expect you to be intelligent enough to observe this, so I excuse you,' Aidem replied casually. He thought a moment, before continuing 'Hmm... I supppose the only thing that I find beneath me is you.' The theif turned to Karay, eyes ablaze. 'And I suggest you stay out of this, Miss Karay, unless you wish to find yourself unable to smile,' he returned with a smirk. Aidem looked at Raen, almost wishing he could apologize. He hadn't thought that he would get the two women mad at Raen as well, and he didn't need any more enemies.
(((Sorry it's kinda short, but I've gotta go eat dinner and I can't think of anymore scathing insults for Aidem, so he's just gotta sit there fuming for a while.)
(Im back tracking a tad coz hes a bit behind!)
A morning broke free from the blue cloak of darkness. The stars retreated away to show a fresh cream sky above the cozy inn. Evethire lay on his side, warm and comfortable.
"He was dreaming of a forest, a forest of tall green trees. Elegant elves walked through, calm and free. Then suddenly everything grew dark. The path through the once lucious trees was dim and fear raced in his mind. A sparkling object was ahead in the farthest point. He wanted to get there. Something held him back. Shadows danced. They caught himas he ran. Must get there he shouted. Get there...get there." He woke all panicked. He turned to lie on his back. The shallow breath ran quickly from his dry mouth.
Realizing it was morning he got out of bed and reached for his over garments. Finally retrieving his precious elvish cloak he marched to the door and opened it slowly, hoping it wouldnt creak to loudly. He then went to knock on his cousins door but hesistated. He didnt want to wake him up if it was to early. He turned and decided to clear his worried mind in the fresh air of morning.
He opened the door to go out side. Everything had a orange tinge. Evethire whistled, it wasnt vert loud but the people that were already up looked over.
He waited with baited breath. Hooves came finally. A black horse bounded towards him. "Blethian" he thought.
The horse steadied himself as the stride came near.
Evethire mounted after acknowledging the horses obedience.
He tapped the horses side and started walking throught the town.
He would return soon to see if Eorlas was up and Lady Aireon.
(Im going ahead a little ~GilEstel~ but when you post you can fill it in. Hope thats okay.)
Alagithildin brought a very tasty breakfast. She ate it quickly, hungry from travel. They talked of stories that were in the past and hopes for the future.
After breakfast Altariel cleared the memories of breakfast and went to the room where she had stayed the night before.
She straightened the bed of creases.
It was after the midday sun that Altariel started thinking back to her alone horse.
She told the caring friends that she would needed to find him for he also had been injured badly.
((Hiya all! I'm gonna go ahead and have us meet up with Evethire and Co. like you told me to. Princess_Greenleaf, I'm gonna go ahead and lead this a little, you can change anything you don't like! If it's sooner than you wanted then you have my permission to delete this post, or whatever part you don't wan't!))
Alagithildin clapped her hand to her head, "We've forgotten to make breakfast! What a horrible host and hostess we are Randir! We forgot breakfast! Bet she'll like my cooking better than anything you can dish out you young slob!" she shouted then lept out of reach as Randir made a swipe at her. "You old elf! How dare you insult my cooking! You must understand Antariel," he said turning to Antariel," you should not listen to a word that comes out of her fair face, for she knows just as well as I that my cooking is 100% better than hers! After all, one of us had to know how to cook, if I had not taken the responsibility upon myself, we would have starved ourselves because of her distasteful food!" Alagithildin slapped him hard on the shoulder then shoved him into the kitchen, "Alright then! If your cooking is so good, then why don't you go make the whole thing by yourself!" She sat down in a chair by the fire and beckoned Antariel to do the same. "So my dear friend, what have you been up to? What happened to you out there? You were in a right state when you stumbled past Randir's door, and it's a good thing you did! Strange folk are abroad, you must watch yourself here, Minis Tirith is turning into an unsafe place." She said softly, gazing into the flames. She listened as Antariel told her the story of how she came by the wounds that she had recieved. When Antariel had finished Alagithildin drew a deep breath, "Things are happening here, I have seen them, small things, yes, but things that are relivant, in some way in which I cannot figure out. I've tried to push them from my mind, but things keep happening, and they are growing hard to ignore. There is a company of elves in the city, thier purpose, I have heard, is to find the heir of their leader, who travels with them, he goes by Evethire, and I feel that we must help him to complete this task, for fell things may happen if it should fail. Something, something I do not understand is telling me that we must aid him, will you go with me to him, to offer our help and see if any of Randir and my knowledge of the land may help?" She asked turning to Antariel. Antariel looked up into Alagithildin's eyes, "I will go with you. Evethire, hmm... something about that name.." She said softly. "What?" Alagithildin asked. "Nothing, it's nothing, I will go with you to Evethire, and we shall offer our help to him." Antariel replied. At that moment Randir called them to the kitchens where they ate a delicious breakfast, and talked of lighter subjects. All through breakfast Alagithilding noticed Antariel glancing out the window. "Antariel, you're horse is in Eclipse's stable, he is doing just fine, we tended to his wounds after we took care of yours!" She watched as relief flouded over Antariel's fair face.
Later in the day the trio set out of the house wearing their elven cloakes. They walked, hooded, up the street until they came to a place called The White Tree. "Well, here it is! This is where Evethire has been staying." Alagithildin informed the others. The three walked in. "Let's just have a look around and see if we can find him ourselves first, before we ask the front desk. They began milling in among the other guests. After a few minutes of searching they gathered back at the door. "I didn't see a sign of him! We'd better ask them what room he's in." Alagithildin whispered as she walked up to the front desk, "Excuse me!" she said, "we're looking for the rooms of Evethire and his company, we are friends of his, could you please tell us where he is at?" The man heaved his body off the chair and looked in a few books on the desk then looked up at the two elves and the man, he grunted, " 'e's in rooms 24, 25, and 26, second floor at the begining of the hall." he said pointing at the stairs. "Thankyou sir!" Alagithildin said and they headed up the stairs. They came to room 24 and stopped. "How do we know which room Evethire is in?" Randir asked. "Quiet you!" Alagithildin snapped, feeling foolish having not thought of that, "We'll just go in this one, and if he's not in here then the men of his company will surely lead us to him!" she nocked on the door three times. A few seconds later it was opened by a tall male elf, Alagithildin recognized him as Evethire, "Good evening sir, we've come to talk to you of you're quest, we wish to aid you." Alagithildin stated simply, but quietly, in a hushed voice, to make sure that none of her words would be overheard by neighboring visitors, or even those in the room.
((Hope that's alright with everybody!))
Ari pulled back from Raen and looked at him angrily.
"Well, it's not my business to go meddling in other people's affairs Ari, the rule is that you stick to your own! And besides, if I thought for a moment that Levi was mistreating her in any way I would've stepped in immediately!" he objected.
Ari listened to Raen's apologies, and to Levi explaining how nothing bad had happened to her.
"See, no harm done! Don't be upset!" Raen said, hoping to settle the matter.
"Oh no, no reason to be upset at all, just because you kept her locked in a closet with Asgar for a while. It's no big deal," Ari said sarcastically. "I suppose you kept her tied up and gagged as well."
When again she saw Raen's guilty look, she looked at him, shocked. Without another word she turned back and comforted her friend.
"I do apologize, Sila, for anything that might have happened to you. It seems that Raen didn't find it necessary to do anything, and Levi felt it was okay to do this in the first place," she said calmly.
She let the matter drop for a moment but sat a bit away from Raen, next to Sila.
"Well then, now that we're all such 'good friends,'"she said as she looked at Aidem and Levi,"is this everyone? Or are there others in closets waiting to be let out?"
Sila tried to hold back a flow of mirthful giggles that were threatening to escape due to the look on Raen's face. Instead of laughing, though, she just shared a smile with Ari and got down to business.
"What I want to know," Sila looked at Levi with no less agrivation than ever, "Is why you let me out and brought me here. Surely it's not Asgar's policy to let ransomed ladies traipse around the city and the Valar knows where else."
She had the pleasure of seeing Levi look uncomfortable, if only silghtly. :love:
