((No problem - glad to have you back Angel That was an amazing dream Rosie!! It loved it!! :love: Hehe well you two, whether you're worrying or not - the plan is not far off from starting :evil: {and trust me I can't wait for it!! } ))

"What is it? Is something wrong?"

Levi's glance slid over to look at Alassë briefly and he replied in a low voice, "We shall soon find out," Moving on, he walked towards the river, vaguely aware of a figure behind him. His black eyes scanned ahead of him and he stopped in his tracks. The hair on the back of his neck was raised like the hackles on a wolf's back. His sharp, piercing gaze swept down towards the river, when he suddenly spotted a quick movement.

Standing ahead of him, with large yellow teeth bared and a pure look of malice in its eyes, was a large grey wolf. It had clearly spotted Levi as it was crouched down ready to attack, a low threatening growl rumbling from its throat. Its hackles were standing on end and it had a hungry look in its eyes, one of a wolf that was seeking flesh to satisfy its appetite.

"Do you think its a wolf?"

Levi was slightly surprised at the question that reached his ears and raised an eyebrow. He glanced over from the corner of his eye to see who was addressing him, but his gaze did not leave the wolf; only a fool would turn their back on a belligerent animal that would make a move at any given moment. He caught sight of the she-elf standing nearby, a bow in hand. He did not feel that he needed to answer the question as it was plain to see, yet he did nevertheless by giving a brief nod, not wishing to provoke the wolf further with his voice. Having dealt with such situations before, he knew that the more silence there was the calmer the animal was likely to be.

Levi still remained where he was. He displayed no signs of fear or trepidation, instead his eyes held an audacious gleam and a reckless grin could be found upon his lips. He tightened the grip upon his dagger, readjusting his grip slightly. He motioned slowly with his hand for the others who were awake to remain where they were and to stay away from the wolf. He took a step forward, however he heard a loud thud beside him causing him to stop once again and cast a rapid glance to the ground.

A dagger lay at his foot, the blade tinted with a black substance that clearly could not be removed. Levi knew it to be a poison that remained tinted on the blade, entering the bloodstream of whoever it pierced, yet never needing to be replenished. Picking it up carefully, Levi was cautious not to touch the blade, but resheathed his own dagger, deciding to use this one instead. Looking over the inscription on the blade, but also keeping an eye on the wolf, he recognised the language and knew instantly that it was Raen who had flung it over for his use, obviously too lazy to even rise from his seat. Levi shook his head before approaching the snarling wolf, keeping his full concentration on the wild animal.

As he drew closer, both he and the wolf were within attacking reach of one another. The wolf, lifted his gums to show more of his teeth as his snarl grew louder, daring Levi to take another step. Levi gladly complied, his eyes studying the wolf's every move to pick up any form of hint from the wolf's muscles as to where it would strike. As if on cue, the wolf lunged at Levi, but having already predicted the moment, he easily stepped aside. The wolf gave a growl of fury and whirled around to attack him again, a mad blaze in its eyes.

Levi began to back towards the riverbank, drawing the wolf away from the company and reducing the danger that they were all in, although he was in no mad rush to save them all, apart from some. The wolf lunged again and as he hurtled towards Levi, he stabbed the dagger into the wolf's side, however he was careful to keep a hold of the blade instead of leaving it in place. The wolf was large and one wound would not finish him off quick enough. The wolf let out a howl of pain and instantly turned to attack Levi again, although there was a gleam of wariness in the animal's eyes now. Again Levi dodged his leap, although only at the last instant, narrowly missing the yellow teeth that were speeding towards him.

Stabbing the wolf again, deeply, it let out a whimper before falling to the ground, its blood spilling out onto the dewy grass. Levi gave it a kick with his foot yet it did not move. Satisfied, he chuckled and turned to walk back towards the others, a triumphant grin on his face. However he did not see the wolf slowly rise behind him once again, the poison not taking full affect yet.

He heard a scream and turned around to see if there were more wolves, but he was too late. A large mass of grey matted fur flew towards him and knocked him to the ground. Levi was taking totally by surprise and only just managed to move his neck away from the snapping jaws in time. He wrestled with the wolf, trying to hold it back as best as he could. As he had fallen, he had dropped the dagger in surprise and it lay on the grass beside him just out of reach. If only he could move over....

Taking a chance, he pushed the wolf roughly away and gave it a hard kick in the jaw. This bought him a few seconds to reach for the dagger. His fingers fumbled for the hilt and he began to ease it into his grasp. Just then he felt the sharp teeth of the wolf sink into his arm. A cry of pain escaped his lips and he quickly rolled onto his back again to free his arm. Bringing the dagger forward he stabbed the wolf in the heart. He felt the wolf's teeth loosen their grip and its body went limp. It was clear the poison had taken full affect this time. Sighing with relief, he eased his arm out of the wolf's grasp and pushed the limp body away from him. Struggling to rise, he got to his feet before pushing the corpse of the wolf into the river with his foot.

Picking up the dagger, he wiped it in the grass before strolling back towards the others. He glanced down at his mangled arm but shrugged knowing that it would not be too difficult to heal. As he approached the others, his gleaming black eyes searched through the camp meeting the gaze of another for a few seconds before he turned away to fling the dagger back to Raen's side. He saw the dark figure of Raen nod from the shadows before looking away once more.

(((-cough--cough- Backtraking a wee bit cause I had a severe case of 'Idonwannapost-itis' I think I'm cured now.....)))

Aidem frowned grumpily and threw his soaked cape to the ground before plopping moodily down beside it. A fine time for a herd of wild horses to rage through our camp, he thought.

When the cry of alarm had rung out through over the plain, Aidem had simply splashed out, knee-deep into the icey waters of the river since trees were scarce. Oh, sure, there were a few stunted little things here and there, but most of the other members of the group had already calmbered up them and perched themselves there, waiting for the odd and utterly unexpected thundering group of animals to pass.

Aidem shook the settling dust out of his hair and stared, from a very good distance away, into the dying embers of the fire. He didn't bother to lay down when he felt himself growing sleepy, it was a weird habit of his, sleeping sitting up, but he didn't really care. So he dozed for a while until he heard snarls from just outside the camp. He quickly opened his eyes and supressed a yawn, as he realized that he wasn't just dreaming. Aidem scanned the darkness and saw Levi facing down a massive wolf some distance away from where the rest of the group slept or lounged. He couldn't help but roll his eyes at the sight of Raen's twin grappeling with the huge bundle of muscle, fur, teeth, and claws. Now there's an ego if I ever saw one, Aidem thought dryly. He didn't stir from where he was sitting: if Levi was so damn skilled then he should be able to rid them of this little problem in absolutely no time. A bored expression was painted plainly across his place as Levi stabbed the wolf the first couple of times. He didn't flinch when it sprang up from it's seemingly dead state and attcked Levi viciously, almost wondering if he were the only who actually reacted positively to that.

The little incident concluded, of course, with Levi nudging the dead wolf into the river. Aidem rather felt like he had just watched some odd form of spectator sport and half expected anyone who was stupid enough to bet on the wolf to have to pay up.

He could see the dead animal's crumpled and broken form in the river. A soggy shape in the moonlight, water parting to flow around it and gently tugging out to the center of the river. Aidem knew that it would float down the cureent until it some how made it's way up onto land to decompose on some lonely bank somewhere. He half wondered if anyone would ever find it's rotted out skull and pause to what had happened to it. Aidem could imagine it very clearly, felt a tinge of pity for the animal, and shot Levi a look that clearly said, 'Too bad the wolf didn't win.' Though he doubted the man noticed it.

(((Erm... sorry for the morbitity there. Don't know what cam over me... heh heh...)))

(Sorry if this post is confusing. I'm having writers block tonight)

Ëorlas was near collapsing with weariness after the horses had plowed through the camp. Their abrupt presence had startled him, but he did not fear the graceful creatures and instead marveled at their magnificence. As he leaned up against a tall birch tree, narrowing his eyes and folding his arms, he stayed alert as a few of his companions gathered their scattered belongings. The wind hissed through the trees as the golden dust settled back to the trodden ground. Far off in the distance a wolf was howling. Ëorlas lifted his head and turned it toward the sound, the cold night wind nipping at his thin cheeks. It had been almost two days since Ëorlas had taken rest, and traveling did not help spare energy by any means. When their horses were all accounted for, he glided to Aireon’s side. He smiled briefly but did not say anything, lying down beside her and falling asleep.

The cry of a man’s voice jolted Ëorlas awake instantly, rising to his feet and scanning the area. His breathing was fast and uncontrollable until his keen eyes spotted the commotion. What will become of this journey if our first day was this perilous? He asked himself, frowning at the thought. Through the moonlit camp he could see a man down by the river with a giant gray wolf pinning his body to the forest floor. The man grabbed a dagger and drove it into the wolf’s chest as it let out one painful cry for help, before its lifeless body dropped to the ground. Ëorlas had been contemplating the rescue of the man, whom he knew not the identity of until he saw the reflection of a blade in his hand, and it suddenly thrusting forward at the wolf.

The elf stood frozen, watching the figure return from the river. Ëorlas hated death because he simply could not understand it. He had tried to make sense of it, but it always proved hopeless. As the man approached, Ëorlas caught the black menacing eyes of Levi he had recognized from the previous day, and watched him retreat back into the shadows where he slept.

Levi wrestled vigorously with the foul creature. He turned with agility causing the wolf to bleed. Altariel watched on from a distance. She had retreated back when Levi had proved well able to kill it himself. She still held the bow tightly. She had considered firing an arrow but her skill she did not trust.
Levi got up grinning obviously pleased at himself. Though behind him the wolf managed to rise. Altariel screamed and shouted "Levi!". He spun fast and with a blin of an eye had plunged the sharp blade into its ruined side. Blood dribbled down his hand to stain his clothes. With a thud the water consumed the mangled wolf's corps.
After cleaning his knife Levi returned. Altariel felt great respect for him and his comrades now. She met his dark eyes for a split second and then turned to away to land her eyes on someone else. Levi's brother sat unperturbed by the whole affair. It made her smile.
The sun had risen to its glory up high. Altariel returned to Evethire. "Good morning!"she hailed.
"To you too" a deep reply was heard. He was fiddeling with Blethian's saddle-bags. Food was retrieved fiinally. "Give this to who ever wants it" he instructed. She did, people seemed annoyed and she did agree with them full heartedly but some she didnt want to approach.So she went to the faces that were familiar "Dear elf,Suilad! Eorlas would you care for some breakfast?" *greetings*
She continued on to ask the others.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Evethire went back hearing the commotion and watched Levi kill the wolf and return with pride.He was glad to have such people near.
He wanted to leave soon, and now that the sun was getting high he wanted to leave as soon as possible, for this land had not proved lucky for them.
He reached into his bag looking for some food. On pulling out some leaf wrapped food his silver ring fell to the ground with a ping. He bet down and retrieved it. He felt distracted and sorrow that he couldn't be back in Minas Tirith. Though to reason he stated It doesn't sound to calm there either
He slipped the ring on and it glinted in the sun. It reminded of why he was trapsing acrross the lands of Middle-Earth-for treasure. Determination bloomed and remained.
He walked to the company and remarked "I think we shall move on soon so gather your good and chattels"
There was mixed reactions amoung them men and women. It crossed his mind to say leave the company if you want to go home
He walked up to Aireon and Eorlas and cheerfully said "Glad to see you're still on your feet, but know horse or wolf could stop you I suppose." nodding he continued on to assist Blethian who stood annoyed and bored.
( :wave: Wow sorry for not posting in a long time, I had writers block as well, and still do a bit. :banghead: Hopefully this isn’t too confusing or bad. :blush: I shall be doing a bit of backtracking.)
As the horses passed Aireon covered herself with the decapitated tent, peeking from a hole at the large stamped. She marveled at their strength, stamina and beauty. ‘The beautiful animals of the land,’ she thought to herself being well familiarized by horses now, but still found them fascinating as everything else. When they left the broken camp far behind, Aireon first helped to put back together the camp and then ambled off down to the waters edge when the darkness of night fell.
The bright morning dawn broke into Aireon’s slumber, and she awoke smiling at the light blue sky above. Suddenly two orbs appeared over her, the same beautiful blue as the sky. A warm smile spread across her fair face as Ëorlas greeted her good morning, and she greeted him back as he flopped down beside her, each contenting one another gazing up at the sky.
After a few moments a snarling noise came from down by the river. Aireon sat up quickly only in time seeing Levi finish off the wolf. In her heart she felt sorrow for the animal until Levi walked back toward the camp and she saw his gnawed shoulder. “Are you alright?” she asked concern swirling about her blue eyes. He nodded in reply moving back to his original spot, as Evethire rose from his own striding across toward them. He remarked to the company at large, "I think we shall move on soon so gather your good and chattels.” Saying cheerfully to Ëorlas and Aireon, Evethire said "Glad to see you're still on your feet, but no horse or wolf could stop you I suppose." nodding he continuing on to assist Blethian who stood annoyed and bored. Aireon smiled back at Evethire.
Rising Aireon sauntered over toward Bainren her own black steed, who snorted at her coming indicating he wanted food. Pulling a few carrots from her brown beg (which she saved during the stamped) Aireon continued down the line of horses, feeding each two carrots, and those which were tentative to eat, or rather her hand might accompany the carrots, she set by the owners, hoping not to disturb them. Ambling back toward her blankets (which was left of her ramshackle tent), Aireon picked up a cloth, and a pair of clothes and headed down towards the river. Dipping the cloth into the water Aireon cleaned herself, being careful not to step a toe into the water. Running the wet cloth over her fair ankle she saw her skin glisten an iridescent aqua glow, but as soon as the cloth passed the sparkle left. After dipping her head into the water, Aireon traipsed off into the thick of the forest changing quickly from her dress into her former brown leather riding pants and brown red-ribbon corset top. As she came from her cover whilst she braided her crimson hair Aireon felt as if something was watching her as she strolled back toward the camp. ‘Maybe I’m just skittish,’ she thought turning about swiftly, to her relief Aireon saw nothing but bent gnarled trees. With a cheerful smile Aireon rejoined the company who now seemed to be rising. Patting Bainren on the side, but her blue eyes drifted toward Ëorlas as she waited for Evethire to give command to ride onward.
:rolling: Wonderful post Electra and GreenEyedElf!!!!!! :love:
Pink weaved in the sky in long stripes. It was bright and showed the best towards the travelling of the company packing and nearly ready to cross the river Entwash gushing.
Altariel sat watching everyone packing up all their various belongings. She was ready, Serithion was loaded with her bow She was mounted, sitting silently.
Evethire was cleaning up what remnents of there presence. She guessed they had to be careful about enemies eyes.
It was a while until the whole group of riders had mounted or got ready to leave.
"Lets go" Evethire shouted.
They started off towards the waters swirling over rough stones.
Evethire went first. Blethians hooves touched the waters edge. It bounded against the thin legs of his horse. Evethire felt the force but it wasn't very strong. The others followed suit, splashing as they went. Altariel rode near the back as she was the last to leave from the old camp place. The ashes started to blow in the unkept wind that started blowing as they continued north. She started hum a tune to the beat of hooves sounding out. The horses seemed excited to leave. So was Evethire. A stench rivited in the air filling everones nostrels. It smelt like dead, rotting flesh.
Not far on they came to a horse lying on the ground. Around it marks of stuggling furrowed the soil. Its gleaming eyes were open and clouded. Evethire dismounted. Birds flew away accompanied by flies and insects. It had obviously been dead for a while. The stench was rising from its corpse. Tears threatened in the eyes of Altariel. She had a huge heart for animals. Evethire went to its side, stone cold it lay.
He went to the head and stretched out a hand and closed the upper eye.
There was no sign of how it died or wound. It was solitary. No footprints showed on the ground. It looked wild and near the type which had galloped through on the previous night. Though it couldn't be one of those fierceful beasts.
Evethire spoke almost silently "Hiro hyn hîdh ab 'wanath"
*may they find peace after death*
((Sorry for not posting in a while, hopefully this'll be good. Raen's part was written by the talented Arwen, along with the ending! Going to have a little flashback here)
As her horse waded through the swirling waters, Ari thought back to the conversation she had with Raen. it had been troubling her, even though Raen didn't seem to notice anything was amiss
____________________
"You're quiet."
Ari realized Raen was speaking to her, and she shifted uncomfortably. She also realized the truth in his statement. He didn't just mean now, he meant the whole while they had been traveling. She had been rather shut off.
"I know. I've just been thinking a lot. About everything. Everything that's been going on here. It's just all a big surprise, seeing you and Sila again. Sort of brings back memories," she said, but her smile faded at that last bit.
Raen watched her face closely and noticed her smile disappear from her beautiful face. He snaked a strong arm around her shoulders and gave them a reassuring squeeze. With a sigh he answered, “Let us put the past behind us,” he had a feeling that she was referring too a certain incident which had concerned all three of them, the blame lying with him for the unpleasant discovery. He gazed into her sparkling eyes before adding with a warm voice, “However there are some things which shall never leave my memory, like when I first laid eyes on you.” His black eyes filled with affection as they gazed into the very depths of Ari’s blue eyes, leaning forward, he kissed her tenderly on her soft lips. He felt a warmth running through him at her touch and he smiled before pulling back again to look at her.
“In truth I thought I had lost you forever Ari, when you left and that I would never see you again,” He held her tightly, “Where did you go when we were apart? What happened to you?” He gazed curiously into her face as he questioned her. He remembered the feeling of sheer delight and exhilaration when he set his eyes on her again in Minas Tirith only a few days ago, hardly believing it to be true.
"I went home," Ari said, somewhat softly,"home to my family. So many things were wrong in my head then, so many things didn't make sense. I was confused, and I knew that just being near you would make it all come back. I had to leave. I left a note with Sila and then I just left. I didn't tell anyone at home where I had been. I just," she paused, looking for the right words,"I didn't want to think about what happened. Well, some of it," she said, smiling and kissing him quickly on the cheek,"but in truth it was a bit much to handle overall."
She stopped, wanting to tell him why she had been so quiet, so distant. She wanted to tell him everything, but she was worried. Then she looked back up, and saw his dark eyes full of love and understanding, and went on.
"Raen, in truth I was a bit mad. You lied to all of us-to me-for so long, it disappointed me to find out about it all. I wasn't upset about finding out the truth, but I was upset you waited so long to tell me. I thought that we could tell each other anything, not just you and me but Sila and the others too. Oh, and this whole business with Sila. All of it just leads me to wonder," she gulped before asking the question that was hanging in her mind,"what if Asgar decided he wanted you to kill me?"
Raen felt a look of guilt crossing his face as he listened to Ari, knowing that all the damage and hurt caused was all his doing. He looked away from her briefly, his eyes staring blankly into the distance. Guilt was an emotion that Raen was not familiar with; having no conscience, it never caused him to regret any of his actions. However this was different, as it concerned Ari, someone who he loved so deeply and who he would never dream of hurting in any way. Her final question snapped Raen’s attention back to her as he felt an iron grip clutch his heart. He did not meet her gaze for a few moments, sensing her fear and unease. Finally he glanced up again and replied, “Ari I love you. There is no price, no riches nor wealth that Asgar or anyone else can offer that would induce me to renounce our love. Without you, I would lose any sense of feeling. You are what keeps me from losing my very soul.” He put warm fingers to her chin and raised her face so that her eyes were level with his. His black eyes were full of affection, though the humorous spark that could always be found was now replaced by a deadly serious glint, “I have given you no reason to trust me, though I beseech to do so now. I would never give you up and that I promise.”
Ari didn't even have to pause before answering him. "Raen, you don't have to even ask. I love you, and I always will. And I do trust you. More than you could ever know. But I don't want to be the only person that knows that love from you. Raen, I don't want you to shut yourself off from the rest of the world like you do. I'm worried for you. Even your job shuts you off from the rest of the world. I don't want you to be all alone." She hugged him tightly, holding on for a few minutes.
Raen returned her embrace and held her in his strong arms. He gazed at her with a sigh and replied, "Ari I am never alone; I have you. Even when you are not with me you are still in my heart and mind." He placed a kiss on her soft hair, "Do not fret over me my love. I have lived like this all my life and can see no different, nor do I want to. I enjoy the lifestyle I live and I am utterly content with it." He smiled at her reassuringly, "I do not think I could ever turn respectable Ari, it would be against my nature and spirit. Besides...," a grin returned to his face once more, "I am not entirely shut off from the world, just apart from it."
"I don't want you to be apart from it," Ari said, but her expression was more content now than upset,"I want you to see the world, to see my world. I want you to be able to enjoy it with me. There are so many things worth seeing or doing out there, and I'd hate for you to miss it." She settled into his arms once more, closing her eyes to enjoy this moment of peace.
Raen smiled, but his eyes had a far-away look, as if he was reliving various events of his past in his mind. He gave a soft sigh and gazed back to Ari, "But I have to be apart from it my love, or else I would not survive in this world. The more involved I become in something, the harder it is to escape; and this world is far too unpredictable and cruel. It would finish me the moment I turn my back, even if it was only for a brief second." Pausing, he blinked away the hard glare in his eyes and continued, "Indeed, I have seen much of the world, though places that most people don't know exist, for not many could withstand the horror and live with both the physical and mental scars if they knew. The tortured and corrupted places I have passed through mar the soil and stain it so deeply that it is enough to drive oneself to torment and death. From my past, it has led me to believe that there are no tranquil and peaceful places left on this earth. There is no more beauty in the lands without death, evil and corruption lurking underneath. I, myself causing some of it, due to my being and actions, but there is far worse than that." He sighed wearily, realising that he was beginning to talk too much. His love for Ari was so great, that he felt he could tell her anything, though he would never load her with the terrible and deadly problems that circled around his mind every so often. However, those thoughts rarely came to him, being the carefree character he is, unless he was provoked into thinking about them.
“To see your world is something which I don’t think I could ever do. Although I may disguise myself as a noble I may never truly live like one. I would never be able to see things in the same way that you do, although I would accompany you everywhere. However I miss nothing when I am with you,” he continued. Falling silent for a few moments he thought over what he was about to say before speaking once more. “Ari, I…” he swallowed, as it was not easy for him to acknowledge what he was about to say. “I don’t want to hold you back from anything. I would be at your side wherever you travel, but that is also a danger for you at times. Although I can protect you, can you not see what damage I cause to you? Your name and reputation will be destroyed. I don’t want to ruin your chances of a happy life.” He looked down at her as she was settled contently in his arms, wishing that he would never have to let her out of his reach.
Suddenly a low growl from across the camp reached his ears. His black eyes sparked as he recognised it to be a wolf. Catching sight of a dark silhouette making their way towards it, he soon identified it to be Levi. He watched the wolf emerge from the shadows and grinned upon seeing the great size of the beast. The glint from Levi’s dagger caught his attention and he rolled his eyes when he saw that it was merely a plain dagger. Reluctantly he took one f his arms away from Ari to reach for one of his own many daggers. Knowing where he kept certain ones, it did not take long for his fingers to grasp the familiar hilt of the deadly weapon he sought. Pulling it from its sheath, he held it up to the moonlight to ensure it was sharp. Since it was a tainted dagger, it was not one in which he would run his finger to test the blade.
Satisfied, he looked over to Levi who was standing opposite the wolf, he took a few seconds to calculate the distance and position before swiftly flinging the dagger across the camp. It whistled through the air before landing with a thud by Levi’s feet, the blade embedded in the grass. Raen gave a wicked grin once he saw that it had landed where he wanted it to, also causing Levi slight surprise. He watched Levi pick it up and examine it, careful not to touch the blade. Once Levi had straightened and advanced on the wolf, Raen knew that Levi had understood the inscription and also that it was he who had thrown it. He watched the fight with a slight interest, but was more content to keep his attention with Ari. He snaked his arm around her shoulders once more and held her close, a warm smile on his face.
After a while, Raen heard a familiar shrill through the air and watched as the dagger landed beside him. Glancing up he met Levi’s black eyes and nodded to him briefly before looking away once more. Glancing over to the horizon, he watched as the sun began to rise, the first few golden rays creeping over the earth’s surface, casting it morning light upon the land. Raen blinked a few times until his eyes became accustomed to the bright light. He gazed down at Ari once more and watched as the sun cast its light upon her. Her hair shone and her eyes had a beautiful sparkle in them. The radiant glow spilled across them and bathed them in light.
The sounds from the camp brought Raen’s attention towards them as he saw them all preparing to leave, packing up their belongings that were not destroyed by the horses. With a reluctant groan, Raen stretched his limbs before softly whispering to Ari, “I think it is time we rose my love. The others are preparing to leave.” Unwillingly, he rose to his feet before turning around to help Ari up. Once she was standing beside him, he began to stroll towards the others.
As she rode with the others, she hoped that they got a chance to talk again, for there were still many questions hanging in the back of her mind, things she needed to know.
((Alright guys let’s get this back up and running!! You’ve all had a nice long break and now I think it’s time to put Edge back into full swing so let’s get you all posting again or I shall hunt you down personally! :evil: Anyway, Sila’s part here was written by the amazingly talented Rosie :love: Thank you so much for writing with me despite all the difficulties!!))
Once Levi noticed that the company were preparing to leave, he rose and began to walk over to the horses. Without much delay, he quickly prepared his skittish horse before turning and readying Sila's also. Spying Sila near the ashes of the camp fire, he walked over to her and smiled in greeting, he was clearly in good spirits. "Good Morning Sila! I hope you slept well?"
Sila gave a little involuntary jump and whirled around. "Oh!" she blinked a few times. "I slept..." she thought of the nightmare that had woken her so late last night. "I slept little, truthfully." she sighed.
Levi gave a slight frown, "I am sorry to hear that. Are you well?" He looked her over with his black eyes for any sign of illness while he awaited her reply. He could not afford for his captive to fall ill, but he felt a strong feeling of concern within him also, one which he never felt for any captive under his charge. He found his black eyes drawn towards Sila's own one's again and gazed into them as they sparkled in the morning light, the golden rays giving her hair a soft glow.
"Oh, no," Sila blushed and found herself staring deep into Levi's eyes. "Just...bad dreams." She couldn't believe that she was actually confiding that to Levi, of all people, but at the same time, she couldn't imagine telling anyone else.
A grin of obvious relief broke across his face at her words, but he glanced away briefly when he replied, "Indeed, bad dreams can be worse than any illness. Most of them appear to be extremely... realistic." He found his gaze was drawn back to her and he gave her an understanding smile. "Well I hope that they were nothing too bad. With any luck they shall not return."
Sila gave a small smile and nodded. "With any luck." she said quietly.
Levi nodded and turned suddenly upon hearing Evethire's words that they were to set off. Bringing his attention back to Sila he motioned for her to follow him, "Come, it is time to leave. Your horse is ready for you." He led her over to where the horses were standing before untying her mare.
Sila smiled at the mare and stroked her nose. "Good morning, Tasar." she said cheerily. "We have another long ride today, I think." she kissed Tasar's nose and went around to mount her.
Levi smiled when as he watched Sila talking to her mare affectionately before mounting onto her back.
Walking towards the river, he swiftly washed out his wound before returning to his saddlebags and taking out some bandaging. Within a few seconds, he had covered his wound and was preparing to mount. Once he managed to get his horse to stand still, he vaulted up on his back and settled himself in the saddle. Guiding the stallion towards Sila, he rode beside her while the remainder of the company mounted up to leave. "Having a nice conversation are you?" He asked in a teasing tone as he looked over at Sila and her mare.
Sila rolled her eyes and tried not to blush. "Oh, yes. Like I've said - Tasar's a good listener."
Levi laughed, remembering when he had first heard her talking to her mare. "I'm sure she is!" He glanced down at his own mount, a slightly thoughtful expression on his face, "I suppose I should really give this horse a name shouldn't I?" He paused, "Do you have any suggestions?"
Sila looked at the horse, noting the wildness in his eyes. "Well, I should say that you should name him something...powerful. And wild." she shrugged. "I don't know what you'd name him, really."
Levi glanced down at the horse's neck with a cocked eyebrow. Coming up with name's for a horse wasn't something he usually did. With a shrug he muttered, "I suppose Gwaith would fit."
Suddenly Levi thought he smelt smoke and frowned slightly. Guessing that it was merely Raen with his pipe, he shrugged and paid no more attention to the matter. As he rode along beside Sila they splashed through the river and across the other side of the Entwash, although the group remained on left bank of the Anduin. Falling silent, Levi kept turning his gaze across to the eastern horizon, far away from the Anduin towards the Ash Mountains as if he was searching for a sign or mark of something.
With a jolt he was brought back to his senses. Gwaith reared up and gave a snort of fear, the whites of his eyes showing and his nostrils flared. Levi was taken by surprise, however he had a good seat and leant forward just in time to prevent the horse from falling backwards. His black eyes narrowed as he noticed wisps of smoke swirling around him and it was then that he heard an odd sizzling sound. As he turned to find orange flames licking at his damp cloak, his horse bolted before he could do anything about the flames or regain control.
Sitting up, Levi shortened his reins and attempted to slow down his wild steed, however the stallion seemed to have only on things on his mind and that was to escape from the fire. Realising this, Levi began to fumble with the clasp in attempt to rid himself of the flaming cloak, however it was not easy to do so on the back of a galloping horse. Putting the reins into one hand he grabbed a dagger from his belt and swiftly cut the cloak open. It flew off him and blew away to his left, the wind carrying it along. As it rolled, orange flickers could be seen in the mass of material however it was not long until the flames spluttered and died. Now that he was free from his cloak, Levi turned his attention back to his horse and attempted to slow the terrified animal down.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Raen walked with Ari towards the horses and with a few difficulties finally managed to prepare his black stallion. Afterwards, he went to help Ari before taking one final glance around the campsite. Taking his horse by the reins, he vaulted up onto its back quickly as it pranced around friskily. Once he was in the saddle he gave a slight grimace as the strain reminded him of his wound. Picking up the reins, he guided his horse over to Ari and rode beside her. He smiled lovingly at her and winked. Drawing his horse up alongside her mare he leant over and gave her a soft kiss on the cheek.

Once the whole company were prepared to move on once again, Raen gave his stallion’s sides a nudge and set off with the others towards the Entwash. When they reached the edge of the water to cross, Raen’s horse came to a sudden halt and began backing up. Raen gave the horse a sharp kick, however it refused to go near the water. Rolling his eyes, he shook his head, forgetting what it was like to ride a young horse. He waited until the whole company had crossed the river before turning the stallion away from the bank and walking in the opposite direction. When he spun the horse around, the stallion caught sight of the other horses far ahead on the opposite side of the bank and shot forward, cantering through the river without even looking at it. Raen smiled, his experience with horses hadn’t gotten rusty yet.

He caught sight of a dead horse lying on the ground and wrinkled his nose before riding around it, his stallion giving a slight whinny and shying away from the carcass. He caught up with the rest of the company again and settled himself at the rear of the group. He spied Ari riding amongst some of Evethire’s group, but decided to give her some space to think alone for a while. Memories of their previous conversation ran through his mind and left him in deep thought for a while. It had been good for them that they had spoken of such matters with one another for they had not had much time alone since Ari’s arrival in Minas Tirith before they left. He made a mental note to himself to speak with her together once again as he had a feeling there was more on her mind other than what she had told him.

Voices reached his sharp ears and he glanced around to find them belonging to Levi and Sila. He had been watching them curiously all morning and a grin spread across his face. He had noticed that Levi was in a particularly good mood that morning, although whether it lasted or not was another matter. He watched them conversing and recalled the look of concern on Levi’s face that morning when he thought Sila was unwell. He sat back in the saddle and watched them closely for a few moments. It was obvious to him that there was something between those two, for he was not blind to the way the looked at each other. However he could see that the only people who did not realise it was Sila and Levi themselves. He smirked. It would be interesting to see what would happen as he knew just as well as Levi the sins regarding a hostage under your charge. You did not have to be a kidnapper to know.

Deciding hat he needed a bit of entertainment, Raen began to think of something to do. His eyes lit up as he thought of something and knew exactly who should fall victim to his ingenious plan. Pulling out his pipe, he lit it and began to smoke as he always did, causing no glances of surprise. Once he was sure that everyone was engaged in conversation of their own thoughts, he urged his stallion forward slightly until he was directly behind Levi. Swiftly he as far forward as he could before flicking large ashes onto Levi’s cloak. Once he had done so, he held his stallion back and extinguished his pipe, hiding once again. A wicked grin covered his face as he watched Levi rode on, completely unaware of what was happening.

When Levi’s horse reared up, Raen put a hand to his mouth to stifle his laughter and watched with amusement as the stallion took off with Levi, shooting past the rest of the company.

(:wave: hello everyone! Sorry for the stupid dead-horse post-it was a bad idea.Can people please post :love: Read the ooc-Arwen has left some wise words for you ALL to see!)

Swiftly moving on towards the northern plains of the Wold, the journey proceeded. The fellowship of races were in fairly high spirits. Altariel noticed with joy Raen, with a snigger set a flame to Levi's cloak. He hadn't noticed yet. She frowned still smiling. If it wasn't for them it would be more painstaking. She had always be taken by the other company. They all, now that she looked with time, were very different but charming. Also in their own ways.
The heat was rising as was the sunny rays marking the ground. Trotting ahead Altariel reached the front of the company. Serithion had a new wild life. He was getting bold and it seemed he longed to quicken the pace.
"Woa-you skitish horse. No need to rush."she uttered to him. Holding him back a little just so the others could catch up she watched the faces and horses go by. Then she let him looser again. She was now riding beside Aireon again.
"Hello, I haven't talked to you for a while. Also greetings to you" meaning Eorlas who was as usual riding near the fair elven maiden. Now that she talking to them she enjoyed the journey better. The time was marching on. Everyone rode in pairs, well almost everyone. Conversation rose generally.
Evethire still rode on forward happy to be on the sweet natures horse again.
"I hope you had a good night."she continued remarking just to make conversation. "Well a good night when there wasn't interuption."smiling she fell silent. Nifredil rode near she saw and then a mixture of the company with Raen and Levi. Levi she also noticed had found out about the fire and his horse looked very annoyed. Raen was watching boldly also. She couldn't compress a chortle herself. Aireon looked at her surprised. "Oh sorry, I just spotted the twins, if I may call them that." Aireon and Eorlas looked behind them and then looked back.
"I dont know they just make me laugh."
She grinned and then dropped speed a little. They talked quietly together. She wondered should she talk to Rovan. He had never seemed friendly to her but she had never either. She nodded briefly and spoke as friendly as possible with the stranger "Hello once again."

((Nah it wasn't Leafy!! Alright well here's another post from me - best get moving again as Raen's getting a little... how should I put it - destructive?! :evil: ))

Raen laughed loudly as he watched Levi in the distance struggling to control his horse. He was slightly disappointed however, that Levi had managed to rid himself of the cloak so quickly. Noticing a few glances shot in his direction from Evethire's company he silenced himself and grinned at them before turning away. However he noticed that Altariel had an amused expression upon her face and he winked at her, glad to find someone who shared his sense of humour among such a sinister company.

Glancing away towards Levi again he discovered that his brother had regained control of his steed and was returning once again. He let out a long sigh of dissatisfaction and began to scan around him for something else to occupy his crooked and energetic mind. His eyes light up slightly at the sight of Aidem riding near the rear of the company and his brain instantly sparked with thoughts of the main reason they had set out on such a journey away from such wonderful delights he left behind him in the city.

With a nod to Sila he pulled his stallion sharply away and made his way over to Aidem. He intended to speak with Sila, but decided it could wait until later as Levi was almost upon them again, and, if he proved to be in an extremely ugly mood as Raen had a feeling he might, it would be useful to have Aidem around to back him up in an argument. The hatred between his brother and friend was extremely obvious and it seemed to grow with each day they spent in each others' company.

As soon as he was level with Aidem, he reached over and gave him a friendly shove, which, much to Raen's pleasure, caught the thief off-guard and sent him roughly to the opposite side of his saddle. Raen's eyes danced wickedly, his mood obviously in high spirits and he seemed determined to aggravate everyone in turn before the sun had set. Whether it was a good idea or not was another thing, but Raen was not one to stop and think over his actions unless it was that of an assassination.

"So Aidem, how fairs your spirits this morning?" he asked brightly, "Did you have a fitful sleep?"

Slowing his stallion slightly, he indicated to Aidem to drop back from the company and allow them to ride on and out of hearing range even for an elf. Once Raen was satisfied that they were no longer within earshot, he began to speak once again, his deep voice containing a sense of excitement though with a serious note it at the same time. The familiar treacherous glint shimmered in his eyes and he had returned once again to his dangerous state of mind. "There are some minor points to my plan that I must yet define to an intricate detail," he told Aidem in a hushed tone, "Though once they are complete it is only a matter of time before it begins... be ready Aidem for I shall have plenty for you to do." A conniving and nefarious grin crept across his face, "Don't forget the reward waiting at the end of all this, you shall be paid well for your services..."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The horse's galloping hooves rumbled off the ground like loud thunder as Levi was carried further away from the company. The flighty stallion was still terrified and seemed determined to put as much space between himself and the fire as possible. However, he did not seem aware that the fire had actually gone. Gritting his teeth, Levi sat back slightly and shortened his rein contact with the stallion's mouth before gradually giving and taking on his reins until the horse started slowing; whether it was out of exhaustion or finally calming down, Levi cared not. He now had control of his horse and would be able to pull him up.
Finally Levi drew the horse to a walk and gave him a loose rein once again to allow the stallion to regain his breath. Levi glanced back towards the company who were still a fair distance behind him and glared, his rare good mood long gone. It was now replaced by a malicious glint and a mean stare. His jaw was set tight in anger and his knuckles white from clenching the reins in rage. His stallion seemed to sense his master's mood and pawed the ground, his ears flat against his head.
Turning Gwaith around, Levi gave him a sharp kick and headed back towards the company at a steady trot, not wanting to return to the others too soon. However he soon urged his horse into a canter and galloped the final stretch before reaching Evethire and the front of the company. Staring straight past them, Levi's rancorous eyes searched for one particular figure only. It did not take him long to find Raen who was at the very rear riding alongside Aidem. A look of disgust crossed Levi's face, he was prepared to repay Raen for what he had done, but he was in no mood for dealing with Aidem at the same time. He would deal with Raen later and ignore Aidem if he could.
He turned Gwaith sharply and rode away from the company until he was level with them, but riding a good distance apart. As he was turning, he found himself confronted by the vague and far away outline of the Ash Mountains. Their black and ominous outline leering at the landscape around it, threatening it with its mighty shadow. He stopped Gwaith abruptly and stared at them for several long moments. To be free of those mountains at last he thought to himself. Suddenly he felt a sharp prick in his shoulder, his scar growing hotter as if answering a call, Or was I deceived? Eventually he turned Gwaith away from the mountains, though he gazed back one more time. He already knew the answer to his question.
(((Yay!!! Yay! Yay! Yay! I love you Arwen!! :love: Now I have stuff to do!! And Leafy, at least you're trying to keep the thread going! It wasn't a bad idea!)))
Aidem was brought out of his musings, whatever they were at the time being (Nothing pleasant, I assure you.), by a jarring shove that nearly unseated him. As he scrambled to remain on his horse, Aidem caught Raen's questions.
'My spirits are just peachy keen, thanks,' he spat once he was settled again. 'And I didn't sleep much at all because a certain someone decided to have wrestling match with a wild animal in the middle of the damn night.' We all know by now that Levi is absolutely superior to each and every one of us in every single way. Or at least I do, and I sure as hell don't need it rubbed in my face every time I turn around, Aidem thought bitterly, shooting Levi and icey glare.
Only when Raen was no longer riding beside him did Aidem think to look behind him. He slowed his horse down until he was riding next to the assassin again. Raising an eyebrow, Aidem listened as Raen began to talk about a whole slew of things that all blended together as the assassin was talking about a mile a minute. And at the end of it all, was, of course, the closing comment that Aidem anticipated from the beginning; 'You shall be paid well for your services.' Now that's what I like to hear. Although it sounds more like Raen's just desperately trying to keep my attention on this little escapade I agreed to.... 'I'm too far along now to turn back, Raen,' Aidem said, staring ahead of him. 'I know what I came for and I'm sure I'll get it at the end of this.'
((I have NO idea why the bl**dy hell I'm posting when I've said that I'm going on hibernation...*sighs*))
Angelus let out a yell in surprise and shock as Levi's barreled past him. Steadying his stallion he looked confused at Levi and then sighed. He turned his face to the sky and mouthed, 'Why me?'.
Why had he come in this company anyways? he wondered as he rode on the side, at a slight distance from the rest. He frowned as he remembered his own words to Elizabeth. He had wanted adventure. Well, he had asked for it. No pun intended. He let Raugêl have a free rein as they trotted along the long path. His eyes gazed at the path and yet did not see the path as his thoughts began to wander.
Back to his home, where he longed to be. Back in front of a warm fire, with his wife by his side. He smiled softly at the happy thoughts and suddenly they plummeted as he remembered just how far away from them he was. He twisted his head to gaze in the general direction of Gondor. A frown made its way on his face as he thought, "Wish I had a book to read...."
(So so very sorry for not posting! Anyway, I’m back. Leafy, your posts are awesome, what are you talking about!?:love
Ëorlas drew a long slender hand to Arodas's neck, running through his thick white tresses as they trotted along the plain. He furrowed his brows when he took notice to his loyal steed wavering on each step. Arodas would need a break soon whether the company would allow it or not. He would let them continue on without him if he had to, but sacrificing the health of his horse was not as risk he was willing to take. Even after traveling through the early hours of the morning the other horse’s looked fatigued as well.
“Uuma dela voronweramin.” Ëorlas whispered, slightly leaning toward Arodas’s ear.
*Don’t worry my loyal one.*
He sat back on the saddle and looked up into the cloudless sky. The afternoon sun was making everything quite warm, and there was occasionally a light breeze, but not enough to cool the company’s long robes and cargo hauling horses. As he adjusted the quiver on his back, Ëorlas held the reins firmly in the other hand, making sure to stay even with Aireon's horse. Both were in silence, confusing Ëorlas terribly. To think that conversation could not be held between them even for being parted for so long bothered him. There were many stories he could tell her, but they somehow vanished within his mind. Lost like the many memories of a mortal’s childhood days, only able to recall them when it is of little importance. His gaze fell upon her for a brief moment as she looked out at the land ahead. Her chin was tilted upward slightly, taking in the light breeze and her long crimson hair bound together in a neat braid behind her back He followed her gaze and found that she was staring at Levi a good distance ahead of the group, but then he saw Altariel drop back to ride beside Aireon.
"Hello, I haven't talked to you for a while. Also greetings to you." She said, meeting Ëorlas’s gaze. He bowed his head slightly and smiled. "I hope you had a good night."
“Yes indeed, thank you. I hope yours was to your satisfaction as well. Though, I noticed Levi, as he is called, kill a wolf around early dawn. I’m sure you witnessed the incident too.” As he spoke about Levi there was a hint of annoyance in his voice. Altariel took notice to this and explained to him that if all of them were to make it through to see morning alive the wolf had to be rid of. Ëorlas now understood Levi’s motive, and thought a little less ill of the man.
As Altariel began to make conversation with Rovan, who was a few feet behind, Ëorlas turned his attention to the luggage on his horse’s back. It looked over stacked and heavy. He turned to Aireon who in turn, looked back at him.
“Is your horse able to bare a few more bags?” He asked politely “It seems as though Arodas is struggling with these.”
She smiled and took the bags, strapping them to the side of Bainren with ease.
“Thank you.” Ëorlas replied simply as they continued down the plains of the Wold. A few paces ahead Ëorlas saw his cousin Evethire dropping back a few paces to meet at his side. He smiled at his cousin’s presence.
Aireon over heard Altariel talking to her horse, as they trotted toward the front.
"Hello, I haven't talked to you for a while. Also greetings to you" meaning Ëorlas who was as usual riding near the fair elven maiden.
A smile parted her red lips noticing Ëorlas once more, riding by her side. She enjoyed journeying with him very much, although thus far he was quite silent, at least more then usual. Evethire still rode on forward happy to be on the sweet natures horse again. “Hello Altariel good seeing you again as well.”
"I hope you had a good night.” she continued remarking just to make conversation. "Well a good night when there wasn't interruption." smiling she fell silent.
“Yes indeed, thank you. I hope yours was to your satisfaction as well. Though, I noticed Levi, as he is called, kill a wolf around early dawn. I’m sure you witnessed the incident too.” As he spoke about Levi there was a hint of annoyance in his voice. Altariel took notice to this and explained to him that if all of them were to make it through to see morning alive the wolf had to be rid of. Ëorlas now understood Levi’s motive, and thought a little less ill of the man.
“Oh yes I did. I am glad Levi seems to be fairing alright after last night,” she commented a concerned expression directed toward the fleeting Levi, which was quickly replaced with a sweet smile once more.
Rovan rode near Altariel although silent his present captured a noble aura. She wondered if there was some past he never told, although she would be a hypocrite to say she hadn’t either. Aireon looked at Altariel in surprised, as the maiden’s chortle broke her musing, "Oh sorry, I just spotted the twins, if I may call them that."
Looking back she spotted Levi tending to his fire, and could not help but laugh. An addicting laughter spilled from her mouth. Biting her lip she fiercely tried quelling her bird like chortle with a mischievous undertone, “I don’t know they just make me laugh."
As Altariel began to make conversation with Rovan, who was a few feet behind, Ëorlas turned his attention to the luggage on his horses back. It looked over stacked and heavy. He turned to Aireon who in turn, looked back at him.
“Is your horse able to bare a few more bags?” He asked politely “It seems as though Arodas is struggling with these.”
“Of course,” she answered without a second thought glancing from the tired Arodas, his white coat glistening to the still energetic Bainren. She smiled and took the bags, strapping them to the side of Bainren with ease.
“Thank you.” Ëorlas replied simply as they continued down the plains of the World. A few paces ahead Ëorlas saw his cousin Evethire dropping back a few paces to meet at his side. He smiled at his cousin’s presence.
“You’re welcome,” she finished with a smile turning back to Altariel.
“They are plenty laughable,” Aireon added grinning. After Altariel addressed Rovan Aireon playfully peered her head around, and greeted him with a large smile, “Hello mate! I don’t believe we have been properly introduced. My name is Aireon, and yours is Rovan, correct?” she asked politely, her bright blue eyes gleaming, as a wisp of her crimson hair fell into her fair face. Noticing Altariel’s steed and her own pulling and tugging at their reins she asked turning back to her, “Would you care for a race? Our faithful steeds each seem just as eager; why not let them have a bit of fun?” Altariel soon agreed and the two were off.
Bainren and Aireon flew over rock and small shrub the dusty earth flying up behind them. His silky black coat and her deep red hair a few strands freeing from it’s bonds trailed in the wind like blood and ash as the two melted into one another, as if they were one rippling like water. Aireon breathed deeply as the wind whipped across her face, ‘This was bliss at its greatest, nature at its best.’ She thought to herself, ‘The world didn’t have to be tropical and lush to be wonderful. Why doesn’t anyone understand? I wish for others to see the world as I do, at least most of the time.’ She thought as Bainren halted reaching the hill top. Rearing up he gave a loud whinny then galloped swiftly back toward the company. Altariel and her horse pranced beside Aireon, and soon the two were laughing and talking together as if they had been best friends for years. Aireon road up beside Rovan this time, letting Altariel ride in between the men: Ëorlas and Rovan. They road that way throughout the day, talking much, and silently thinking. Aireon found herself talking more with Rovan that day then with her best friend Ëorlas. Oddly enough every once and a while she flashed her usual sweet smile toward Rovan amidst there conversation, which was almost flirtation, and at the same time held true kindness, from her peripheral vision Aireon noticed Ëorlas glance toward them. She could never make out the expression written on his face, but tried not to smile as must as the evening drew on.
Darkness loomed overhead as the company trotted through a thick forest. Their hooves clomped on soft earth, crackling leaves, and breaking small twigs, as gnarled foliage stuck out in their pathway. A light flickered in Aireon’s deep blue eyes, as she peered through the dense ever-green. “What is that?” she asked as loud gruff voices drew closer. Nearing the voices Evethire motioned them to stop. Aireon volunteered to take a look. Evethire reluctantly agreed, and Aireon bounded silently from Bainren. Tiptoeing quietly toward a very tall tree Aireon carefully climbed the tree with great swiftness and grace. Cautiously peering through the green leaves she gazed down upon four very large goblins seated around a fire arguing about something. Suddenly feeling her foot hold slip slightly on the tree Aireon remembered her still all too new experience on land, especially in a tree. Ëorlas and her climbed trees many times on their journeys, and in fact she found climbing quite invigorating although that never inhibited her clumsiness. Clumsiness fated Aireon’s gracefulness upon land unlike in the secret she held deeply within her heart, which only shown though her dark blue eyes, as deep as the seas swirled with the light blue from the skies. A small branch cracked falling toward the ground. Aireon gripped the trunk for dear life for plummeting to the mossy forest floor amidst a group of goblins was not her cut of tea. “What was that?” one of them growled. “I want some meat!” another growled. “We have meat right here, we have good mutton,” the third thrashed. “We’ve been eating mutton for days; I want sweet tender, succulent meat.” Spat the second.
(There you are Arwen! Sorry it wasn’t the best post I’ve ever written, but it gets us there! You may do anything with Aireon you like, just don’t have her eaten, hehehe!)
(Beautiful posts Electra and GreenEyedElf I love them to bits. :love: )
“Hello Altariel good seeing you again as well.” Electra spoke.
"I hope you had a good night.” "Well a good night when there wasn't interruption."
“Yes indeed, thank you. I hope yours was to your satisfaction as well. Though, I noticed Levi, as he is called, kill a wolf around early dawn. I’m sure you witnessed the incident too.”
There was a slight note of annoyance in Eorlas's kind voice.
"I did indeed, though I think it was just cause this once, as it might have turn ill for the company. Levi, I think did it for that cause and not for flaunt."Altariel finished thinking that, that might not be entairly true. He had always proved to enjoy the tourment of others for fun, well at least annoying his brother.
“Oh yes I did. I am glad Levi seems to be fairing alright after last night,” she commented a concerned expression directed toward the fleeting Levi, which was quickly replaced with a sweet smile once more.
She looked over to levi and Raen. They made her laugh and so she said. Her spirits were lightened to hear Aireons sweet laughter.
~ >>---> ~
"Hello once again."
Rovan looked up and was going to relpy when the friendly Aireon came near.
“They are plenty laughable,” Aireon added grinning. “Hello mate! I don’t believe we have been properly introduced. My name is Aireon, and yours is Rovan, correct?” she asked politely, her bright blue eyes gleaming, as a wisp of her crimson hair fell into her fair face.
Altariel smiled at them both talking. Her horse stumbled a step and took it as a indication for excitment. Aireon seemed to notice this skittish horse prancing now.
“Would you care for a race? Our faithful steeds each seem just as eager; why not let them have a bit of fun?”
Altariel agreed think it was a brilliant idea.
Aireon flew ahead on her very valiant steed. She gave a little nudge to Serithion. He took with a neigh of excitment and stode into a fast gallop. The wind took flight against her fair face. her hair once again scraped at her cheeks. It reminded Altariel of the rush to Minas Tirith. She bit her lip for concentration to controlAerithions strong head. A single drop of blood stained her front teeth.
She looked quickly at the sailing waves of soil below. A dark shadow was coping her every move.
Serithion bowed his head and followed Bainren and Aireon up the hill. With all intension Altariel came last laughing slightly at the flighty feeling swelling through her.
She spotted Aireon returning with a spritly gallop toward her. She slowed down to a canter and then a trot. In no time Aireon was back.
Between weeping eyes, from the gush of wind Altariel held out a hand and shook Aireon's "Well done." she still was grinning like a young elf after finding her best friend in a game of "hide and go seek"
When they got back to the company Altariel went between Eorlas and Rovan. She though it would do Serithion some good to be captured between to noble horses.
They talked of many things that day of lands, people and hopes. She had seen a different side to Rovan. He spoke of many things also which Altariel listened to unpreterbed.
They went on until a watery blue swept the sky and darkness fell. A forest was to be there next adventure Altariel thought being young and foolish. She looked around at the people behind her. Aireon's eyes stood out as orbs in deep shadows.
Altariel was now riding behind Evethire who had been pouring over a map of the misty mountains and a book inelvish.
He had not talked much. He had a pressing hope on his mind that they would get to Lothlorien.
They halted.
Voices lingered. They sounded gruff and rough. Aireon rode forward and whispered to Evethire she could go and have a look.
Evethire looked down taken by her soft eyes and reluctantly agreed. She bounded from her horse and Altariel caught the reins.
From what they could see she climbed a tree until they could not see her at all. A russle of leaves was heard and then a single horrible voice.
“What was that?” one of them growled. “I want some meat!” another growled. “We have meat right here, we have good mutton,” the third thrashed. “We’ve been eating mutton for days; I want sweet tender, succulent meat.” Spat the second.
Altariel gasped. evethire frowned at her and then put a single slender finger to his lips. Altariel mouthed "Sorry"
Her mind was focused on Aireon. Her ears could hear many things ahead and it sounded as if Aireon was slipping from the tree.
Eorlas obviously heard this also because he had slipped noiselessly from hie hore and was walking towards the front. He halted again listening. It was silent again except for the occasional pop from the "creatures'" fire and the breath of the horses. Altariel looked at him. She sensed his thoughts.
Evethire finger his reins ready to whip out his bow and an arrow. It remained silent until a voice was heard again.
"Let me have a look, I heard something over there."
(Wow-thank you Electra and GreenEyedElf and all the rest of you! )
I'm too far along now to turn back, Raen,' Aidem said, staring ahead of him. 'I know what I came for and I'm sure I'll get it at the end of this.'
Raen grinned at Aidem, "Oh I know you will, but I just wanted to make sure - after all there is a lot of waiting around in this task and little action, well so far at least. I know that I grow impatient despite my good humour so I can imagine you must feel the same." His eyes sparked, "But now that you mention the fact you're too far along to turn back, I shall make good use of that!"
Stretching forward he gave Aidem's horse a slap across its quarters, sending it flying forward before settling himself at the rear of the company laughing quietly to himself. He watched all of the company as they rode ahead of him, each and everyone of them, mentally go over what he knew of each in his head and storing it away carefully for future reference. Eventually there would be a time when he needed to be able to interpret them all very well. He gave a yawn and glanced around, that was not a particularly hard task for him since he had a flair for it, the only person who he felt might have the slim possibility of surprising him... was Levi.
He watched his brother riding apart from the company, his posture tall and powerful in the saddle, rigid with anger, yet there was something else noticeable that Raen couldn't quite place his thumb on. He smiled finding something new to occupy his mind. There was nothing more he enjoyed than a challenge of any sort and this would do nicely for the time being. Sweeping his hawk like gaze across the company once again, he sighed. There was something wrong with them all. They were all too reserved and uptight, not to mention solemn. It puzzled him slightly for although they did not all know each other it was easy enough to cure that, but they did not all seem that eager. As far as Raen was concerned they were all going on a treasure hunt, something he dreamed of when he was nothing more than a street rat. Treasure hunts were supposed to be filled with fun and adventure, danger lurking around the corner that was fought off together and of course the most important factor - an endless amount of treasure. However all he had seen from the company so far was grave faces and polite, if perhaps forced conversation. He sighed heavily, any attempt made by him to remedy the problem was only frowned upon, not that it mattered to him, it was rare when anyone else enjoyed his sense of humour apart from himself anyway.
His stallion lurching forward attempting to take off at a gallop brought him back to his senses. He swiftly sat up and tightened his contact with his horse's reins, pulling him up and riding a small circle to calm the animal down. Scanning around he searched for what the cause of his horse's sudden upstart and he soon caught sight of two horses from the company racing against each other leaving clouds of dust behind them. Rolling his eyes he sighed at his horse and began to speak to it for a source of amusement, "Do you see any of the others in front of you going off at a mad gallop? Did I ask you to do anything of the sort?" He paused as if waiting for an answer before adding, "Well then there was no reason for you to behave so ridiculously!" He gave the stallion a pat on the neck and settled down once more, drifting off into his dark conspiracies and thoughts.
Riding on throughout the day, little else occurred to attract Raen's attention until dusk. He found that they were in a thick forest as the horses picked their way through the undergrowth. Raen cursed loudly as a branch hit him in the face, the growing darkness making it hard for him to see where he was going. He realised that the must have touched the edge of Fangorn Forest as there were no other forests to be found until they reached Lothlórien. He cocked an eyebrow and glanced around him, his black eyes piercing through the darkness now accustomed to lack of light. He knew that Fangorn Forest was not the greatest place for a large company to disturb by trekking through it though he kept quiet, with any luck it might provide him with some entertainment and besides, he could think of darker places to be...
His stallion came to an abrupt halt as the rest of the company had stopped ahead of him. His horse glanced around him and snorted, his nostrils flared in fear and he pawed at the ground. Raen ignored the animal and listened to see what was wrong ahead. If they were in Fangorn Forest then they had nearly reached The Wold, so he was unsure of what the problem was. Perhaps they were lost? He snorted, even a fool could find their way out from here - they were not very far in yet. He watched as Aireon went ahead and climbed a tree, clearly spying on something. He kept his eyes on her as he wondered what was wrong, there was a gleam in his eyes as he half hoped that she had climbed up an Ent and not a tree, but he found himself disappointed as a branch gave a loud crack and she fell out of the tree. It was then that he noticed the flickering light ahead of a fire. He raised his brow and rode forward to see what exactly was going on and where Aireon had gone. As he reached the front of the company, his ears suddenly picked up the gruff voices ahead of him, behind the trees that Aireon had been watching from,
“I want some meat!” something growled.
“We have meat right here, we have good mutton,” another voice thrashed.
“We’ve been eating mutton for days; I want sweet tender, succulent meat.”
A knowing smile curled at Raen's lips as he recognised that they were goblins that they were dealing with ahead of them. Clearly Aireon had fallen into their camp. The rest of the company did not seem to realise the danger she was in. He glanced behind him and met the steely glint of Levi's eyes in the dark. He could see that Levi already knew, and probably did for some time but was remaining silent. Turning to the rest of the company he hissed, "I would advise an attack immediately if you value the life of your companion, those are goblins ahead!" He pulled out a dagger which glinted in the moonlight and sighed heavily. His wound was still tender and he was in no mood for battling and opening it though it appeared he had no choice.
Spurring his horse forward he shot through the trees and straight into the goblins' camp. He glanced around and nearly burst out laughing, for there were only four goblins in front of him. Although they would be a threat to a unsuspecting traveller, Raen was used to dealing with larger numbers and with a company of this size they were nothing more than flies. The startled goblins sprang up with a yell, though one was soon dead on the ground, Raen taking care of him swiftly. He watched as the others came forward before glancing at the remaining three. They appeared to have recovered from their shock, though much to Raen's surprise, they did not appear to be afraid or making any attempt to run. He narrowed his eyes and listened to the trees. That meant only one thing - there were more and they would soon arrive. Sure enough, he heard rustling in the trees and voices. Turning to the others he cried, "Prepare for attack!" He cursed to himself and gritted his teeth ignoring his wound. Motioning for Aidem to follow him, he rode towards the noises, readying himself for whatever amount of goblins would confront them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Levi rode apart fromt he group for the remainder of the day, though by dusk he had neared them once again and was soon riding beside Sila. He nodded to her briefly before casting his gaze at the horizon ahead of them. His mood was still sour and the flame of anger was still burning strongly inside of him as it always did. He began to think to himself yet again, the reason he was travelling in such a company. He found himself growing more and more irritated with each mile they travelled, yet he hesitated, knowing that it was not only the company which riled him so.

He found himself watching Sila when she was looking elsewhere. Long had it been since he had such a beautiful and interesting maiden as his captive. He was used to kidnapping those in great power, and looks did not often come with such a position. Also most were men, though some of their daughters he 'took under his wing' until a sufficient ransom was given to him, were pretty fragile things, though he had never come across a maiden with a personality such as Sila's. He found extremely intriguing, yet he felt that was not the only reason he found himself attentive to her despite being his captive. Catching her gaze, he held it for a few fleeting moments before swiftly looking away. He sighed and his irritable mood soon hit him once again now that he was no longer distracted.

He rode on silently beside Sila for the remainder of the day, lost in his own thoughts, though often he found them wandering back to Sila. He found this kidnap very unusual from most cases, as he was not accustomed to giving his captives so much freedom, yet for some reason he trusted Sila. However that did not mean he did not watch her like a hawk all the same, though he was unsure quite why. Telling himself that it was merely a habit he left it at that and did not think about it again, knowing it was unwise to do so. However his thoughts still remained with her and he once again began to wonder how exactly Sila and Ari had become friends with Raen. He could see Raen being a man who knew many ladies, though he doubted that there were many who considered him a friend. He remembered what Sila had told him previously about how she and Ari had met him and how they had both managed to get him imprisoned. It was certainly an interesting story, though he was sure Raen did not need much help going to prison, however it still puzzled him why both Sila and Ari had remained friends with Raen. He was certainly a dangerous man and women of such nobility did not normally associate with rogues, let alone befriend them. He glanced at Ari and knew that she and Raen shared a love for one another and so it did not surprise him. However, Sila puzzled him. Was she friends with Raen because of Ari or did he actually manage to gain their true friendship? He shook his head, wondering how anyone understood Raen for he seemed to contradict himself as soon as anyone thought they had figured him out.

As darkness settled down about them, Levi glanced around and found they were riding towards a forest. He soon recognised it to be Fangorn and he gave a slight smile; it was one of the more interesting places they were going to visit on this relatively safe path they were travelling on. As they rode through it, the darkness turned into a velvety blanket impairing their vision though his eyes soon became accustomed to it and glinted sharply. Suddenly he felt a burning in his shoulder and a sharp pain searing through his head. He closed his eyes and swallowed hard, his hands clenching the reins tightly, his knuckles now white. Voices echoed through his head and visions flitted before his closed eyes. There was trouble ahead in the form of goblins. He opened his eyes once more as the sensation passed as quickly as it had come. He glanced around and thankfully saw that no one had noticed his mental battle that had taken place. He considered whether to inform the company of the danger or not but decided against it, knowing that it would arouse suspicions as to how he knew and he was not in the mood for such things. He smiled cruelly for a brief moment, asking himself why he should even bother anyway.

After further riding until they were well into the forest, the leaders of the group soon heard voices and Levi smiled. They would now discover their surprise that lay in wait. He watched silently as Aireon went ahead to scout, however there was a loud crack and she fell out of sight. He soon felt Raen brushing past him on his horse, obviously curious to see what was taking place. His brother soon discovered that they were goblins after listening for a few moments. Levi was impressed that he had worked it out so swiftly though he remembered that Raen was very familiar with such creatures also. His gaze met Raen’s and he could see that his brother had guessed he knew. He nodded to his brother before turning away. He heard Raen ordering an attack and the company soon moved forward. Levi knew that there were only four goblins ahead already but there were more in wait beyond the campsite. Reaching over he grabbed Sila’s reins and stopped her from following the others. She looked up slightly startled and he quickly whispered to her, “Stay close to me, do not leave my side!”

Riding forward with Sila alongside him, he entered the clearing and glanced around. Eorlas was making his way to Aireon and already Raen was awaiting the arrival of more goblins. It did not take long and soon they burst through the trees. Levi pulled out two daggers and killed a few easily though he could see by their faces that the goblins were extremely surprised. He kept Sila closer to him and watched along her side, though he knew he not worry as the goblins shrank back from him when they spotted him and never made any attempt to attack him. However he did not spare any mercy on them and sent them falling to the ground. He watched Sila’s face as she observed what was happening and was grateful for the fact that the others were too busy fighting to notice apart from Raen who glanced over and raised his brows but grinned at his brother before moving on with Aidem at his side. Levi clenched his knuckles again as his scar burned however he remained calmly still and glared at the goblins who moved away. He caught Sila’s gaze and stared deeply into her eyes with a look that told her not to say a word to anyone else. Breaking his gaze he flung a dagger at another goblin before retreating back into the trees slightly so they were hidden from view.

((Wow, Wren, you blow me away! How you can write so much just astounds me - I want to be JUST LIKE YOU when I grow up! *refrains from mentioning the fact that she's 18 already...* Anyhow, bombs away! *drops another "Inner thoughts of Sila" post into the thread*

Heh...and sorry for the use of Levi...however, it felt like dialogue time, and as you weren't online to Live RP, I was forced to make up Levi's lines myself. But as we seem to have an understanding about that... I'll just let you take care of Levi's unspoken reactions. :love: ))

Sila had her knife out as soon as the goblins burst upon them, and she was ready to fight, steering Tasar with her knees and making sure to stay close to Levi. It didn't seem, however, that she needed to fight at all - the goblins all shied away from her captor, although he killed a good many of them. She watched the skirmish around them with a mix of pride and sadness. Pride in the fighting abilities of their company, specifically Raen and Ari, and sadness that the fight was necessary. She could fight as well as anyone (and knew that goblins were vile creatures), but she wished it were possible to have an adventure without bloodshed.

She gave a small sigh, mixed with a rolling of her eyes as Raen glanced over at Levi with a grin. What went through that man's head she'd never know. A quick glance at Levi showed him to be calm (and glaring frighteningly at the nearby goblins), but Sila noticed that his knuckles were white from clenching so hard.

His scar... she thought with a start. She wasn't sure why she thought so, but she was prepared to swear that it was bothering him. He stared into her eyes, giving her chills, whether from fright or thrill she couldn't tell. The look said more than words - not a word of this to anyone. She followed Levi as he led them into the trees, out of sight. From this relative safeness, she cast her thoughts back to the subject they often came to - Levi. She wasn't sure why she thought of him so often. Mostly she brushed it off by telling herself that it was because they travelled in the same company, not to mention the fact that he had kidnapped her. And yet a small part of her said it was something more. However, Sila chose not to listen to that small voice...most of the time. She turned her thoughts instead to the travel they'd done today...and the later part of the day, with Levi riding beside her, looking at her when he thought her eyes could not see. She told herself over and over that it was just because she was his captive, that was all. And yet her heart beat faster.

He was so like Raen, and yet distinctly different. She knew the tiny differences between them as she knew her own home. Levi's scars, one on his neck especially, were extremely different from Raen's, in her eyes. His voice was of a softer, richer timbre - just enough so to notice after hearing both of them many times. And the way his hair fell into his eyes...she glanced up at them and found herself hooked. They stared at each other for a vulnerable moment, then both turned away as one. Sila looked down at her saddle and ran her fingers over the scar that ran the length of her forearm - a nervous habit she had tried long to break. Don't look at him, he'll think...he'll think... Sila was at a loss for what Levi might think if she caught his eye like that again, but the general feeling was quite embarrassing.

Suddenly, she realized that her companion had spoken. She shook her head to clear it of the contradicting thoughts in her mind.

"I'm sorry, Levi, what was that?" she asked softly, her eyes flicking between somewhere over his shoulder and the fight that appeared to be ending in the clearing.

"I asked where you acquired that scar." he said, nodding at her arm. She looked down and noticed she had shoved her sleeve up to rub it. Blushing she quickly restored her sleeve to its correct position.

"I got it in Minas Tirith--during the War." she smiled wryly. "A southern warrior got the better of me for a moment." Levi raised his eyebrows in surprise.

"You could fight even back then?"

"No," Sila laughed quietly. "I waved my brother's sword around wildly, and managed to hit enemies sometimes." There was silence for a moment.

"And what happened to the warrior?"

"He soon regretted his audacity as he stood before Mandos." Sila replied solemnly, her eyes dancing. She met his gaze for a moment and held it, resolved not to look away. If she could kill trained warriors as a weak, untrained girl of 19 and come away with only a faint (though long) scar, surely she could look into Levi's eyes. Levi smiled before looking away.

"You are truly a puzzle, Sila." she heard him murmur as he looked back to the clearing. She cocked her head and stared hard at him, as if trying to decipher him. With a sigh, she gave up, and turned to watch the group in the clearing. Levi was, obviously, just as unfathomable as his brother. Maybe more.

(You BOTH amaze me in length and coolness! :hug: )

With a nudge on his horse Evethire drove through the lashing branches into the clearing. The goblins had been tormented by Raen. One lay dead, the others were running in fear in the opposite direction. He left out a laugh and headed in Raen's direction. Still in high spirits he congratulated him.
He looked around for Aireon and Eorlas. He couldn't see them until they rode out.
He whispered to Aireon "Are you okay?" in a sympathetic tone "What happened exactly?"
She replied "Well I saw the goblins and then the tree branch broke..."
Just then a shake of leaves was heard and Raen gave the order for attack. Evethire tightened his grip on the elvish bow and got ready to fire. Blethian pawed the ground uneasily.
Ahead in the mass of trees the sound of snorting and footsteps were heard. They gave the impression to be many there. Evethire saw the rest of the company come through. Branches were being broken and trees moaned sad long groans. Evethire could only imagine the fury of the Ents that were being trifled with.
A short fat goblin moved forward with a wicked grin. He spoke in a wicked little voice "More dinner ahead!"

~ >>--> ~

She drew an elvish knife white in colour. Serithion was upset when Eorlas and his horse went to find Aireon. He started to rear.
"Not now Serithion."she sounded a little annoyed at her always bold horse. She could feel the eyes of the others on her. She cursed under her breath and tightened the reins. The horse started to moved back and prance. "Please boy" She looked around for Evethire who always was able to control her horse. He had dashed into the clearing. She frowned and started speaking elvish to the snorting horse. Serithion desided to bolt towards the clearing and cause havok. Somewhere there was a cry for battle "Prepare for attack!" It was Raens voice. Hanging on she hurtled into the camp site. The horse halted abruptly beside Evethire and Aireon. She slide off the saddle and nearly fell off. Altariel staightened herself just in time to see the first fat goblin stagger in the direction where they stood. An arrow flew and hit the creature where is mouldy heart would have been. By the look of the arrow it belonged to Evethire. She looked at him. He did not look at her but past to the company. Levi and Sila were there nearby, though Altariel had not noticed them before. She gave a quick smile in there direction. She felt almost cowardly towards Sila and Levi. She blushed and looked down at her saddle.
The goblin stifled a snigger and then dropped to the ground as two more arrows flew at him.

~ >>--> ~

Evethire could sense the rest of the hourd progressing slowly. He Heard the unsteady breath of Altariel and the snorting of Serithion. He was unpreterbed. His focus was on the ahead branches. A stroke of excitement ran through him like when he had shoot his first enemy all those years ago. He relaxed his shoulded and his aim a little. The foe were slow and according to Raens grin not a problem. They were only goblins.
Then to there surprise many came through surrounding the front few riders. Raen seemed exuberant. He is like a child. Evethire thought with a frown and smiling at the same time. The small battle began. Altariel fought with her Elvish knives. The din of sighing goblins was in the forest that day as the foe fell. Birds shreked in fright and flew away which Evethire noticed being an elf. They were were never going to lose with such a company.

(You ALL amaze me with your brilliant writing! Hehe.)

He gently gestured Arodas to stop by pulling lightly on the reins and mumbling a single elvish word to his white steed. The forest grew unusually quiet and the rest of the company did the same to their mounts as they watched Aireon climb the tall tree. She climbed higher and higher, the voices ahead becoming more apparent against silence and the dark looming shadows of dusk. It seemed to Ëorlas that the louder they got the faster his heart would beat for fear of his close friend’s safety. He could hear the boughs of the tree creak above as Aireon leant on them and the fast uncertain breathing of the group. Ëorlas watched Raen trot to the front of the company as he past him, Altariel and Rovan on his larger steed. Seconds later a large cracking sound was heard from high above in the towering tree. Ëorlas knew right away that Aireon had fallen and a sharp tingling feeling shot through his heart. “No.” he trailed off, just loud enough for Altariel to hear him before riding up behind Raen and Evethire. From his new standpoint much of the clearing was visible through the trees. A large fire burned up ahead through a small clearing, the smoke drifting upward into the dim lit sky, which Ëorlas watched in wonder. Still Aireon was nowhere to be found. He watched Raen turn around to face the company; his black eyes held a peculiar glint, which Ëorlas could not interpret.

"I would advise an attack immediately if you value the life of your companion, those are goblins ahead!" He pulled out a dagger that glinted in the moonlight and sighed heavily.

At Raen’s statement Ëorlas drew an arrow from his quiver and knocked it on his bow, carefully taking aim at an orc within distance. After shooting the first arrow which pierced a goblins leg, he pushed Arodas forward just enough to step into the clearing without revealing themselves from the shadows. More goblins appeared through the trees, and Ëorlas tried to guess their numbers as he shot them. Aidem and Raen where still hacking away with their swords and daggers. He found that Evethire had steered up beside him, holding the reins of Aireon’s horse. The others continued to fight as the fell creatures poured from the Fangorn Forest walls.

“Find Aireon Ëorlas, I’ll cover you!” Evethire urged as he strung his bow.

With that, Ëorlas nodded and leapt from his horse and dodged the oncoming goblins, each one falling injured beside him from Evethire’s elvish arrows. Aireon stood hidden behind a tall tree, for she had taken her weapons off her belt to climb the tree and couldn’t seem to find her way back to the group. When Ëorlas spotted her he ran over and unsheathed the sword Aireon had gifted him with before their departure, seeming it was the only other weapon he carried. She seemed to be a little discombobulated after falling out of the tree into camp of goblins and Ëorlas stroked her hair and asked her if she was all right. She grabbed the sword and thanked him before following him to their horses alongside Evethire. More goblins seemed to be coming, but Ëorlas knew it would be no match for them as he mounted his horse. Arodas seemed to be preoccupied at the sight of Serithion, and Ëorlas strained to pull the horses head back toward the fight.

At the first sound of the rough voices Rovan's body tensed, as did his horse's. A cold expression which didn't promise anything good was in his grey eyes. As Raen went to attack the goblins, Rovan kicked Anto's sides and the brown horse leaped forward. Rovan didn't even glance at the others. All he saw were goblins, all he felt was a burning hate for the foul creatures. Rovan himself seemed to have become an unstoppable impersonation of hate. His sword sliced wherever it could, dripping black blood. With a deadly determination Rovan followed the escaping goblins through the forest, only to run into a larger horde of the cretures. He didn't hesitate. With a fierce yell and burning eyes he rode forward to meet them, he brohe their lines like a hurricane. Soon Rovan was surrounded and was having a hard time fighting them off, but he didn't even feel his injuries. His enemies was all that was on his mind, they were impersonating everything he had sworn to fight against, and he tasted the death of each and every one of them. Anto did his best to help his master, just as he was trained. Rovan didn't hear the voices of the others coming to his aid, he didn't need them. He spotted the leader and clove his way through to him. He leaped off Anto's back. The blades clashed fith a fierce anger, and the ugly creature stepped back at the look on Rovan's face. It was the same expression even his comrades were fearing when they happened to see Rovan on the battle-field. Rovan kicked the black sword out of his rival's hand and pressed the tip of his sword against his neck.

"Do you know Burgzurg?" he demanded? When the goblin didn't answer Rovan pressed harder. A thin line of black blood dripped down the goblin's neck.

"DO YOU KNOW BURGZURG??!!!" he repeated.

"No..." the creature answered in a crispy voice. With disappointnent, Rovan cut the leader's throat. In vain! Again his hope had proven to be a fool's hope! The goblins were already retreating, not able to withstand the pressure of the men and elves. Rovan followed them, leaving Anto and his allies far behind. He was determined to kill each and every one he could. He only stopped when there was no breathing goblin he could see or hear.
Rovan stood, breathing hard, his soul aching inside as in the very day he saw his village burning. Exhausted, he fell down on his knees, leaning against his bloody sword. He had spent all the force and energy he had in the battle, and felt now too weak to return. Slowly, his face regained it's usual calm and reserved expression, the wild fire in his eyes died, and they became as an hour before - cold steel. Soon he would be ready to return. If only he knew how to get out. He was a man of the plains of Rohan, not a wood-wanderer.

((OOC: I was just wondering if anybody would be crazy enough to go and search for Rovan... I'm afraid he really isn't able to find his way back.))

Aireon gulped as the branch below her gave a fatale crack. Falling swiftly from the high tree, she grasped desperately for a branch, anything which she might hold onto for dear life. Alas all she received were handfuls of pine needles. Suddenly she accidentally flipped around in the air, now plummeting face down toward the earth. Her eyes widened in fright as a large rough branch came into view. First swimming like a fish in the air, Aireon did not succeed in moving any further from the branch. Cupping her hands over her face, she waited to feel the branch crush her fingers. Instead she gave a small gasp as her stomach hit head on with the branch, thankfully slowing her fall in a painful way. Sliding from the blanch she then plopped onto the damp earth, her head lashing backward last bringing her into darkness for a few moments, before a tall man loomed over her. As her vision cleared she smiled seeing the man being no other then her best friend Ëorlas, kneeling swiftly by her side. Standing up quickly she felt slightly discombobulated for a moment, glancing around for her weapons. Ëorlas unsheathed his sword, guarding her with one hand, as his other stroked her hair asking softly if she was alight, concern glinting in his bright blue eyes. In a few minutes she found her weapons, strapping them about her slender waist she turned toward him with a smile, answering simply, “Thank you, I am fine.” Obediently, she followed him toward their horses, and most importantly her bow, alongside Evethire.

Noticing Rovan stalking off after a large rampage of Goblins, Aireon thought for a moment, curiosity blazing in her eyes, as she saw rage blazing in his. ‘What made him so angry?’ she thought to herself. Without another moment to lose, she grasped her bow and arrows hoisting them over her left shoulder, and keeping a tight grip on her sword in her right hand, Aireon her way through the crowded fight and into the trees after the human. As she entered the untouched part of the forest, Aireon sheathed her sword. Shouldering her bow, she swiftly and silently ran through the forest dodging each tree and rock. Finally reaching Rovan Aireon crouched down, bow and arrow pulled tight at the ready, as Rovan held the leader at bay with his sword firmly pressed against the creature’s neck. Rovan’s furious pained voice made her stop.

With disappointment written across his face, Rovan slit the monster’s throat. Aireon was stricken with confusion, and her lovely blue eyes, always warm with happiness, and joy were littered with sadness and pity for the man, as he slumped onto a bolder. His expression soon regained his calm expression, and his grey eyes became steely cold once again. Feeling the time was safe, and he was obviously lost by now, as he peered around hopelessly, Aireon stepped from her hiding place.

“You look a bit lost,” she stated tentatively, “Would you care for a bit of guidance on the way back?”

“I’m not lost,” Rovan protested immediately, but knew he lied.

With a raised eyebrow Aireon answered with a sweet smile, and a small laugh, “Oh really. Well then I suppose you must certainly join me on the way back. I came out here in hopes of finding more enemy to defeat, but alas I found none,” pausing for a moment she walked toward Rovan, linking her arm through his she pulled him forward, giving no room for him to be left, or protest, “Besides we can’t very well leave the rest of our comrades take all the action without us, and besides I can’t just leave you here alone.” Leaving him no choice, she led him strait back into the clearing without a second thought as to where she was heading. Surprisingly, Aireon was good at one thing, (other then singing that is), tracking, and knowing where she was going, or where she had been which was always quite useful. Letting Rovan go, she finished with a smile before scouting out for Ëorlas, “There we are. Be careful now, and don’t go getting lost again.” Aireon stifled a laughter hearing him mutter under his breath his not being lost in the first place, as she left him be on the edge of the battle field. Skirting around the edge she caught sight of Ëorlas, and smiled seeing him prevailing very well against a goblin, which soon plummeted toward the earth with a thud. Turning about she busied herself aiding Altariel with a few nasty goblins, who kept trying to stab her with her own arrows, which made wounds in their chests. With a surge of vigor and courage, Aireon leapt onto the left one’s back crawling quickly onto his head. Pulling the string tight, she sent three, then four, five, six arrows into the goblin’s scull finally puncturing its puny brain. As the goblin beneath her started lilting forward, a string of fright bubbled through her body. Adrenaline pumped through her blood, as she leapt from the falling goblin, just managing landing on the other’s head, and pulling out the few hairs on its head to regain balance, which only enraged the goblin more. He flailed his arms, grasping desperately for the scurrying figure on his head. More arrows flew into his brain. As the goblin fell, Aireon slid down his back, landing agilely on her feet, only to be brutally knocked into a tree by a large hand. Aireon gave a grown as she dislodged her face from the bark, rubbing her nose. Turning around she found beady yellow eyes flashing dangerously in her face, as drool slipped from grimy teeth beard in rage. “Was that your brother by any chance?” she asked the monster timidly, and gave a small yelp as he snatched her about the waist. Groping the air for her bow, Aireon found her favorite weapon lay in pieces on the ground. Lifting her a few feet off the ground, the goblin threw her into a rock again. Aireon rose again, unsheathing her sword, ready for anything. As the goblin grabbed for her again, she slashed at his hand, cutting his wrist instead. The goblin shrieked fiercely, this time making no mistake he clenched his grubby fat fingers around her slender neck stopping all air passage. With a last effort as her fair peachy-cream face turned an unnatural ting of blue, she thrust her sword into the creature’s gut. The monster gave a blood curtailing scream, throwing her forcefully onto the ground. Her chest heaved, trying to catch her breath. A small smile prickled at the edges of her ruby red mouth, as she gazed at the quickly dying and retreating goblins. ‘The battle is almost over. Thank you Valar, Thank you!’ she thought, blood pulsing in her temples. Looking back up again, terror flooded her mind, and she froze to the spot, as the goblin raised her own sword aiming to strike at her heart.

(Sorry for speaking for your character Nifredil, you can change it if you like!! Also watch out for spelling errors, I have not time to edit this, I must be off to fencing!! Cheers!)

(Hey there_sorry for the delay-i have someone staying and I was away!-so this mightn't be the longest.)

"Find Aireon, Ëorlas, I’ll cover you!” Evethire urged as he strung his bow.

Eorlas dismounted from his proud steed and went of to find his maiden. Evethire knocked an arrow to his shining bow. His fingers trembled in concentration. He let one go towards the stumbling goblins. It fell into a heap, dead. Evethire prepared his bow again and shoot another slightly wider goblins approaching. Eorlas had gone from sight. Evethire hoped he would find her.

Serithion was uncontrolable. He made it his objective to follow Arodas. It was evident that her horse was also causeing that problem. She pulled at his reins but nothing worked she finally dismounted and started to attack from the much stained ground.
After a sharp blow from Altariel a goblin retaleated on her. He had what looked like the spear from the fire which had been holding their food. He aimed for her heart. She ducked and tried again to stab his chest. He raored as her pure elvish white knife went into corrupted flesh. He grabbed her hand and ripped the knife from her grasp. She watched with fear as he turned on her. A sudden acute pain reared through her starting in her thigh. Her blood was poisoned with goblins. She cried out in pain. He leg throbbed with severe suffering. She fell to the ground. Also the conflicting goblin fell with a thud. He knife fell from his rough grasp a few feet away from Altariel. She, amoungst her anguish and physical pain she tried to reach it. Her delicate fingers just couldn't reach its ivory handel.

Evethire continued to battle through the miserable creatures. The battle was nearly up. Blood was mingled on the ground. He counted tem left standing of the goblins. He saw Raen and his much inviolable brother laughing as the foes fell. It suddenly accured to him, where were Aireon and Altariel and Rovan.
His elf eyes searched. He trusted Aireon to return but Altariel he was worried about, after all, she was quite delicate. He had only taken her out of comfort after her fathers death.
Aireon returned with Rovan. The only one missing was Altariel.
Suddenly his eyes saw her, close to the ground. He hurried to her and picked her up. She cried in pain. Her tears were stained and blood ran everywhere. He brought her to where his horse stood and propped her against a tree. He would have to wait to tend to her. With a last ounce of energy Evethire felled his last goblin. Some were making their way from the battle, though some also were still tryng their luck.
In the corner of his eye he saw a rather large enemy falter at Aireon. He knocked an arrow on his bow and fired. It faltered for a second but it was no where near death. He tried again. It was not working. It had raised its sword to strike. Eorlas suddenly ran to her aid and stroke the goblin. It turned to fight Eorlas.

((Well what can I say? It is truly a great honour and privilege to write with you all! :love: Why thank you Rosie dear, though you are so wonderful the way you are I somehow don't think you would like to be like me Alright here we go - Sila's part is written by our astoundingly talented Rosie, thanks so much for a great Live RP, Levi enjoyed it immensely :love: ))

The goblins came forwards through the trees as quickly as flowing water and the trees were soon drowned by their repulsive forms. Raen spurred his horse forward with his heels and prepared for attack, an excited energy running through his veins. It was not long until everyone was surrounded by the foul creatures from every direction. Dropping his reins, Raen guided his stallion with his legs, keeping his hands free to fight the goblins. Aidem fought alongside him, but they were soon separated by a large group and they rode in opposite directions to tackle them all swiftly.

Beads of sweat formed on Raen's brow and he gritted his teeth, his jaw set tight as he struggled to ignore the pain that pounded from his wound with every turn and twist he made. His eyes however showed no trace of discomfort or pain, only exhilaration and vigour. He grinned briefly at Evethire when he congratulated him and nodded in thanks before concentrating on the enemies before him. He soon began to relax and slay the goblins with more ease as he became immune to the pain, now used it. His grin broadened and sent them falling to the ground from every direction. Spying three goblins approaching Aidem from behind he killed one before yelling to him, watching as Aidem dealt with the goblins from both sides. Raen could see by the way Aidem handled the situation that he was a very good fighter and needed no help whatsoever to defend himself.

Turning his horse in the opposite direction he searched for Ari to ensure that she was alright and not having any trouble and found her fighting strongly with the rest of the company who had adopted a very clever tactic of sticking close to one another to help each other out. It appeared that it took an attack like this to get the company interacting together like this as a whole. Noticing that certain members were missing he scanned around and spotted Levi with Sila by his side hidden in the shadows of the trees. He watched them for a few moments and saw the goblins all veering away from Levi. making no effort to attack him in the slightest. Raen raised his eyebrows at his brother and grinned, impressed at his influence on the cowardly beasts.

Suddenly he caught sight of Rovan fighting the goblins with such hatred and ferocity that he watched in complete surprise. He knew that goblins were well hated creatures but never before had he come across someone who slew them with such wrath. He soon began to work his way towards the leader, ignoring the others' aid and cries for him to stay close. Raen could clearly see that the man was completely surrounded and bore many injuries yet nothing appeared to be able to stop him. He watched Rovan, completely rapt in what the man was doing, putting himself in such danger by stranding himself out there. Rovan soon had a dagger at the leader's throat and he appeared to be shouting at the goblin though Raen couldn't hear above the cries of the battle.

"DO YOU KNOW BURGZURG??!!!" Rovan repeated.

Raen heard him the second time and frowned. The name clearly belonged to a goblin, but what did Rovan want with any of these creatures? He presumed that it was for revenge or something close to it judging by the ferociousness and rage Rovan had towards them, though Raen's curiosity was written across his face.

A slash across his cheek brought his attention back to the fight and he turned with a disgusted face towards the offending goblin and cursed at him before hacking his head off. He continued to kill the goblins, a disgruntled and disgusted look upon his face now that he had acquired a wound from the stupid creatures. Although a new scar would barely be noticed on him due to the amount he already had, he prided himself from coming out of battles without a single mark upon him, yet this time it was due to his own lack of attention that he had broken his ritual. He took his anger out on the goblins and soon the area was a sea of corpses from the group's valiant fighting.

As the remaining goblins met their end or ran in cowardly fear, disappearing rapidly through the trees from whence they came, Raen caught sight of Rovan following them, leaving the company behind, his mind obviously intent on destroying them all. Raen shook his head and saw him disappear in the darkness, knowing it was pointless to follow the man. Glancing around at the rest of the company, he watched as they finished off the remainder of the enemies around them. He spied a goblin raising a sword over his head to strike down upon Aireon and urged his horse forward though he soon spotted that Evethire was taking care of the matter. He scanned around to ensure that everyone else wasn't in any difficulty and nudged his horse forward to slay some of the remaining enemies that had refused to retreat.

It was not long until there wasn’t a single living goblin to be seen. Evethire had just slain the last one after a tough battle with the goblin that had tired to kill Aireon. Raen dismounted form his horse and began to search through the bodies for anything of use, picking up a few daggers as he went. He grinned happily with his new weapons and finds and continued to plough through the battle field for more objects of value.

As Levi sat astride his horse beside Sila during the battle, he found himself focusing on her more and more and the battle became merely a din in the background. They were both completely silent and Levi watched her form the corner of his eye. He turned at one point to look into her sparkling eyes and found his black ones meeting her mismatched eyes. They held each others’ gaze for a fleeting moment, Levi felt as if he was lost within the depths of her eyes, leading towards her soul. Realising what he was doing, he turned away, Sila also doing so at the same moment. He found his mind lost on Sila, thinking back to when he first laid eyes on her, kidnapping her only moments later. She was so beautiful and delicate yet stubborn and wild at the same time. His gaze fell upon her once more and he watched as she ran her fingers over her arm. Something caught his eye and he looked closer to see that she had a scar along the length of her forearm. He frowned and watched her for a few more moment until his curiosity got the better of him. Clearing his throat slightly he asked, “Where did you get that scar?”

Sila obviously did not hear him as he did not get a response, but he sat silently and watched her without another word, wondering how she had managed to obtain such a scar, it was most unusual to find a fair maiden bearing a scar. Again he felt there was much more to Sila then he thought. Just then it appeared that Sila realised he had spoken to her,

"I'm sorry, Levi, what was that?"

"I asked where you acquired that scar." he said, nodding at her arm. He noticed her blush and cover the scar once more. He gave a small smile and listened while she told him what had happened. He was impressed to hear of how she fought so young and raised his eyebrows in surprise. He shook his head slightly, this new piece of information throwing his thoughts even further from what he believed to have concluded about Sila. He met her gaze and stared at her for some time before giving a smile and turning to look away at the battle. "You are truly a puzzle, Sila,” he murmured as he turned, his eyes sparkling though hidden from Sila’s view. She was more difficult to understand than he thought and he wondered if he would every be able to figure her out at all.

He watched the battle for some time attempting to take his mind off Sila but found it wandering back her every so often. He shook his head as if there was something wrong with it but it was no use, he just couldn’t get her out of his mind. He sighed and finally gave in, turning his attention back to his captive. Watching her slender figure, Levi soon found his eyes drawn to Sila's scar once again and he stared at it silently for several moments before asking, "How did you learn to fight?"

Sila smiled. "Ari taught me. She saved my life in the woods, and took pity on me, I suppose." she looked over to her friend. "She was the first person to try to teach me how to fight."

Levi's eyes travelled briefly over to the figure of Ari and he studied her for a few moments, but quick as lightning they returned to Sila. He gave a slight frown before speaking once again, "You are truly puzzling Sila, there appears to be many different aspects to your life than I had expected; especially since you are a lady. Forgive me but it is not a usual occurrence for one to come across a fair maiden who has had so many experiences in life." He fell silent again, unsure of how Sila would interpret what he had just said. However every word he spoke was true, the more he tried to figure her out, the more he discovered about her which led him further off the track.

Sila blushed. A fair maiden she was not, at least in her eyes. "If I may say so," she said quietly, "You are rather puzzling yourself, Levi." She looked up into his eyes. "Every time I think I know who you are, I find out that I'm wrong." Suddenly realizing what she had just said, she ducked her head and dutifully examined her fingernails (which were rather dirty).

Levi's eyes glowed as they met hers briefly and he smiled, though the smile was grim. "You are better off not knowing who I am Sila," he answered quietly. He glanced at her, her words still sinking into his mind and for one fleeting moment he wished that he could be honest about who he was, though it soon passed on briefly and his gaze hardened once again.

Sila glanced at him from the corner of her eye, not wanting him to notice as she looked him over. Better off not knowing? All that meant was that he had dark secrets...but didn't everyone, to some degree? Raen had once said the same to her: "You're better off not knowing me". Just because of who he was.

Sila gave a small sigh. She wanted to know Levi, his joys and woes...that's what friends did, wasn't it? Told each other their secrets? But Sila knew that Levi wouldn't open up. All the same, she was determined to let him see who SHE was.

"I had a brother." she said finally.

The sound of Sila's voice broke the silence smoothly. Levi's brow furrowed and he looked over at her, confusion written all over his face as he asked, "What was that?"

He had heard her correctly, or so he had thought, yet it somehow didn't seem to fit into what they had been talking about. He then wondered that perhaps she was attempting to change the topic onto family, though wasn't making too good a job of it.

Sila smiled sadly. "I had a brother. His name was Perlanthir. I loved him more than anything. We were only born a year apart, you see." she looked off into the distance, as if seeing a time long gone. "He...he went to fight in Osgiliath during the war." She bit her lip, and a lone tear rolled down her cheek.

Levi listened to her, a thoughtful expression on his face as he attempted to piece together what she was trying to tell him. Quick as he was to pick up the subtlest of hints from another person, women were not a strong point of his as he found them extremely confusing, Sila the most. Once he heard her last words he realised what she was saying and saw a single tear fall from her watery eyes. "I'm terribly sorry," he whispered, shifting in his saddle slightly. He had never comforted someone before where he was trying to mean the words he said. For some reason he felt it to be a great importance for him to be able to comfort Sila. He found himself caring for her deeply. Reaching forward, he gently wiped the tear away from her face with his warm hand.

Sila was startled back to the present by the feel of Levi's hand on her face. She looked up at him, her mis-matched eyes showing deep pain, but also hope. She reached her hand up and placed it over Levi's, which still rested on her cheek. "Thank you." she whispered. Then she dropped her hand and wiped at her eyes. "Now then," she said a bit more cheerily, "Where has Raen got to?"

Levi felt a tingle travel up from his hand through his arm as he touched her soft skin and gazed into her beautiful face. For some reason it pained him to see her upset and his eyes showed it briefly though he swiftly masked it. He felt her surprise at his touch and she looked up at him before swiftly changing the subject to Raen, her voice more cheerful though somewhat forced he felt. With a sigh he dropped his hand to his side and glanced around for Raen. It was not hard to find him as he was rummaging through the corpses, something which struck Levi as a typical Raen trait - making the best of every situation. Motioning to Sila where he was, Levi picked up his reins and rode over with her towards the eccentric assassin.

((Well, it's all Wren's fault!

Ok, not really, but this IS an insanely long post...a little over 3 pages in Word. Thank you to Wren for the parts of the Terrible Two, my favorite twins, Levi and Raen! :love: ))

Raen felt someone come up behind him and looked up from a goblin to find Levi and Sila standing there. Grinning he greeted them, "Well hello there, now wasn't that some entertainment?!' He lifted his full arms to show his spoils of war before raising a questioning eyebrow, guessing that they must have a reason for approaching him, since he wasn't exactly on the best of terms with Levi after his little fiery incident.

Levi rolled his eyes at his brother and sighed, 'I wouldn't exactly say it was _that_ entertaining as you like to put it,' he replied his mind wandering back to the pain in his shoulder. He did not look the slightest bit impressed as Raen showed his new weapons, a childish grin on his face as if he had just been presented with new toys, which he supposed was what they were to him.

"Oh, look at this!" Sila gasped and drew a handsomely designed knife and sheath out of the clutter in Raen's arms. "This was no Orc blade." She smiled at her older friend. "Good job, Raen! Didn't he do well?" she asked Levi, sincerity written all over her face, but laughter in her eyes.

Raen watched as Sila reached towards his jumble of weapons and shifted around slightly to avoid them all falling. He watched Sila as she examined the dagger and spoke to Levi. His grin broadened and he glanced between Sila and his brother, waiting to see his brother's reaction, his eyes lit up at the praise Sila had given him. He was used to disgusted looks from others as he went about collecting things, but Sila was his friend and he realized that that was something she would not do. "Well it was nothing really, I have a good eye for these things," he told her proudly.

Levi took the knife from Sila's delicate hand and flipped it over briefly to look at it. He shrugged and glanced stonily at his brother, still not forgiving him. "Well as Raen said it was nothing," he shrugged, "I'm sure it was an easy find, most likely belongs to some fool of a traveler who managed to get himself eaten."

He handed the dagger back to Sila, his face still unimpressed. Then he caught the laughter in her eyes and couldn't help but allow a smile to creep to the corners of his mouth, suddenly feeling slightly bad for answering her like that, "Though it may yet be a valuable find, we have yet to find out." He finished

Sila smiled and looked back at the knife, then up at Raen. "May I have this?" she asked hopefully. "I don't have a knife with me, only my sword, and that's no good for small things."

Raen nodded, "Why of course! I have plenty here as you can see, please if you would like another you may have it," He glanced down to find another nice looking knife through the rest before adding, "Tell me Sila, have you had much knife practice?"

Sila smiled and rolled her eyes. "Only the little you've taught me in the past, you scoundrel. Why should a noble-lady learn from anyone but the best?" she added with a wink.

A large grin re-appeared on his face and he beamed at her, "How right you are, why you would only learn bad habits and fatal mistakes from any other! I must improve your skill sometime, see what you remember," he spoke enthusiastically.

Levi raised his brow, "And just how good are you brother? Are you sure you know every trick there is?" He challenged, a shining glint in his eyes.

Sila groaned good-naturedly. The prospect of the "terrible two" testing each other's knife knowledge was not the most calming of ideas.

Raen glanced back at him, "Well I'm sure you can answer that for yourself, neither of us can best each other, though I am certain I am faster. Every trick? Of course, it is the only way to survive for the one you don't know is the one that kills you. Besides," he smirked, "I create new ones all the time and I am responsible for many already known," he boasted.

Levi sighed in disgust, "You? Faster?" He laughed, "Not a chance, you caught me off guard that's all. Well if that is so my brother and you are as skilled as you claim, then I think we should have a little fight and decide the winner once and for all." He grinned and glared at Raen.

Raen snorted, 'Off guard? I was merely toying with you that night. Alright a fight it is! Though no arrangements - it defeats the whole purpose let it happen when it happens!" He finished meeting Levi's glare with one just as powerful and dangerous.

Sila quickly jumped between the two and put a hand on each of their chests. "No! Not a chance!" she glared at them each in turn. "Do you REALLY want to make me angry?"

Levi had been ready to lunge at his brother right then and there, his blood pumping through his veins as he fingered a dagger, when suddenly he felt SIla's hand on his chest as she tried to stop them. He glanced down at her delicate hand that was supposed to be powerful enough to stop him and listened to her forceful words. Glancing at her face he tried to retain his angered look yet found it harder and harder not to smile. He knew that he could just brush away like a fly yet she was strong-willed and determined enough to believe she could stop them. He stopped where he was and did not speak for a moment, completely surprised and amused at the same time.

Raen could sense Levi had a mind to fight right where they stood and had dropped his new knives at his feet but one to attack him. It was then that Sila put a hand to his chest and gave out to them both. Raen looked at her and laughed outright, "Sila, what are you doing?" He asked. Glancing at Levi he could see his brother's amusement and continued, "Well Levi you know maybe we should just leave it at that. I would hate to have to deal with the wrath of the almighty Lady Sila! Look!" He cried, "I am trembling in my boots as we speak!" He grinned cunningly at Sila as he pretended to tremble.

Sila made a little noise of exasperation and slapped Raen in the arm. "You dare to mock me?" She poked him in the ribs and tried to poke him a second time, but suddenly she found that Raen had pinned her arms behind her with one hand and began tickling her with the other.

Raen's eyes were filled with laughter as he quickly took control of her and began to tickle her, "Mock you? Why no, I was merely provoking you 'Oh Powerful Lady'!" he replied, "But I fear I am too fast for your malice and it is I who is the powerful one here" he added as Sila soon became helpless in his strong grasp.

Sila squealed with laughter, causing some rather curious glances to be directed at them. Sila wiggled and squirmed, but only found that she had been picked completely off the ground. "I'll...tell Ari...on you!" she managed to gasp.

Raen lifted her off the ground and grinned playfully, "What is this? Am I to believe we are overrun by almighty females here Levi? We had best watch our backs!" He continued to tickle Sila, fully aware of the glances that were shot in their direction, loving every minute of it. "I don't believe I shall let this Powerful Lady go until she begs for mercy!" He concluded, his laughter rumbling in his throat.

Levi watched with a raised eyebrow. He felt a surge of jealousy that Raen and Sila were such good friends and it took some getting used to watching Raen attack her in such a playful manner. However he did not move and attempted to remain as he was, refusing to allow the jealousy take over him or his surly mood to spoil the fun, which even he knew was much needed in such a group like this. He did not want to be the one to spoil SIla's fun. He laughed at Raen's comment and replied, "You may be right Raen, if you don't watch your back they shall have taken us over!"

Sila wiggled even more and squealed at the top of her lungs. "Mercy! Levi, HELP!" She laughed. Her sides were aching, but oh how nice it was to have fun like this.

Levi laughed and stepped forward, taking Sila into his strong arms, away from Raen's grasp. He felt so content just to hold her, not wanting to let her go. Finally he set her down on the ground, slowly releasing her from his grasp. He placed a kiss on her hand and spoke, "There now you are free from the perilous bonds of Raen." He grinned at his brother.

Sila blushed a little and stuck her tongue out at Raen. "See, HE is nice to me!" she exclaimed. "Even if he DID kidnap me and lock me in a closet." she added after a moment.

Raen looked slightly put out to have Sila taken from him and the fun to come to an all too soon end, but another grin escaped his lips as he watched Sila and Levi. A knowing look crossed his face as he saw Levi holding onto her for a few extra moments. He laughed as Sila stuck her tongue out at him and rolled his eyes. However, his smile half faded and he swiftly glanced to Levi at her last outburst, prepared for the worst should it come.

Levi saw Sila blush and glanced away himself, a smile filling his face as he heard her retorting to Raen. Suddenly he clenched his fists and his face darkened. He swung around and glanced to see if anyone else had heard her. He gave a murderous look, tempted to strike out. Taking a deep breath he contained himself and spun on his heel slinking away, an extremely angry look on his face. He watched the other members of the company, thankfully they were too preoccupied to hear and too far away, though he his anger was not going to cool for a while yet.

Sila suddenly realized what she had said and clapped her hands over her mouth. "Oh, Eru..." She whispered. "I wasn't supposed to do that." She looked over at Raen. "I didn't mean to...it just..." she bit her lip.

Raen glanced uneasily between the retreating figure of Levi and Sila. His fingers loosed from his dagger as his brother stalked off and he sighed. "It was not intentional," he answered, recalling how Levi had nearly struck Sila. His strong feeling of protection for her would've immediately intervened and stopped Levi, but it made him wonder how much control his brother really had over himself. He glanced back at her, concealing his worry for her and continued, "I would stay clear of him for now... perhaps it would be wise to stay with me or Ari for now. Levi is not..." he trailed off and gave a small smile, "Just give him some space," he finished. He gave her hand a reassuring squeeze and picked up his daggers again.

Sila looked off in the direction that Levi had gone in, then back at Raen. Raen was right, she knew, about staying away from Levi, but she couldn't help want to explain and apologize. She forced a smile. "I think I'll go find Ari." she heard herself saying to Raen.

Raen smiled with relief, fearing that as strong-willed as Sila was she might go after Levi. Nodding he replied, "Yes you two have not had much time together recently." He ensured he had taken all he wanted before adding, "I shall speak with Evethire and see what the plans for our journey are from here," he paused, "Do not worry about Levi, he'll sort himself out."

Sila smiled and watched Raen walk off. When she was absolutely sure he was distracted by something else, she took off after Levi.

Raen nodded at her before hunting out for the he-elf, certain that Sila was heading towards Ari and that he need not worry about her for now. Spying Evethire he quickly crossed the forest floor towards him.

Levi stormed off into the trees some distance away form everyone else and flung a dagger in a tree in anger, kicking it also. His eyes were burning in rage and his every limb was shaking in anger. He could not believe what had just happened! If anyone had heard her it would have been disastrous... He cursed at himself for being so relaxed with her, for being so caring...what was he doing?! Taking out all his daggers he began to fling them into the tree again and again, each one hitting its mark perfectly.

((Okay MAJOR thanks to Rosie for Sila’s part :love: that was an absolutely fantastic LRP and I apologise for taking so long to get it posted!! Also thanks to Leafy for Evethire’s part - I had a great evening too It’s great to have you back!! As for everyone else - this will give you all a chance to catch up and move on towards Lothlórien, but remember it will take you a while to get there even at a gallop! ))

Sila made her way slowly through the trees, hearing the sound of knives hitting wood as Levi (she assumed) threw knives at the trees. At least it would help him calm down, or at least she hoped so. She tried not to move too quietly, for fear of surprising him, but he didn't seem to have noticed her when she finally reached the little clearing where he was. "L-Levi?" her voice came as a whisper; she cleared her throat and said it a little louder. "Levi?"

Levi was concentrating hard on throwing his daggers, trying to control his rage from bursting out. Sweat glistened on his brow as he focused solely on what he was doing.

Suddenly he thought he heard a voice just as he was about to throw another dagger. He spun around and narrowed his blazing eyes, his dagger pointing at the trees ahead as if hunting out a target. He stood silently, waiting for something to move or show themselves as the case may be.

Sila gulped nervously and stepped forward, her hands in front of her. "It's just me, Levi."

Levi's black eyes fell upon Sila emerging from the darkness and his knuckles turned white as he gripped the dagger tightly. Swallowing hard, desperate to control his anger he spoke to her, his every word trembling with constrained rage, "Leave now, Lady Sila. I do not wish to speak with you," He forced himself to be polite as his icy voice cut the air, hoping she would take note to leave; he did not know how much longer he could keep this up.

Sila looked down at her boots and took a deep breath. "Levi, please...I just wanted to apologize. I shouldn't have said that. It’s just...I just wasn't thinking." She looked up at him. "Please forgive me. I didn't mean to."

"YOU WEREN'T THINKING?!" he yelled, "Do you know what damage you could have done?! Might yet have done?! There is no room in this world for stupid mistakes because you weren't thinking!" He was breathing heavily, he threw his dagger toward the same tree, knowing he needed to get it out of his hand, fast. Looking back at her, his eyes pierced right through her, "Why should I believe you?" He asked, his voice slightly calmer, "How do I know that you are merely trying to escape from me?!" He began to pace in front of her, "NO!" He shouted, "I cannot forgive you Sila! You are just like any other silly maiden, screaming for help! I have been too easy with you!" He turned away from her, a pained look across his face, knowing what his anger could bring upon himself.

Sila willed herself not to cry as Levi shouted at her. She stood ramrod straight throughout his entire rant, and let not a single tear slip down her cheek. When Levi had finished talking, Sila took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "I am sorry you think so, Levi." she said quietly. "Because I had rather begun considering you a friend." her temper, long shoved out of sight flared up, and angry tears suddenly leaked down her face. "I had kept your secret!" she yelled at him. "I told you what mattered the most to me. WHO mattered the most to me. I trusted you, Varda knows why!" she stalked up to him and pointed her finger in his face. "And just because I made a stupid mistake doesn't give you the right to call me 'just another silly maiden'. I'M NOT LIKE THEM!"

Levi was about to explode, hitting her arm forcefully that pointed towards him "Well perhaps I once thought you were different, maybe even considered you something much more than my captive!" He spat at her, "Does it not?! Who's to be the judge of that?!" He laughed cruelly, "Well wrong you were Sila - this is who am I!" He opened his arms wide and yelled, "LOOK AT ME! THIS IS WHO I AM! You don't like it?! Well I'm afraid it's what you're dealing with! Learn who to trust instead falling for every empty word I have said!" He stopped and clenched his fists as they shook violently, "You do not know what you are dealing with Sila," his voice was nastily low, "Watch where you walk, even Raen cannot always be around to save you..."

Sila's eyes softened a little with pity. He was lying, she knew it. If all the things he had said were empty words, then she was the King of Rohan. And she wasn't. She had seen real kindness, real interest, in Levi's eyes, and now she saw, very faintly, real hurt. She had broken his trust, and she knew it.

"Maybe I don't want him to save me." she said thoughtfully, as if sorting through her feelings. "Maybe I just...maybe it isn't worth it to be safe from you if I could once trust you. I STILL trust you." It seemed to dawn on her as she said it. "I trust you, Levi." she said more forcefully. "And I don't think you'll ever be able to change that."

Levi stood there for a moment, dumbfounded. She still trusted him? He shook his head not believing what he had heard. He felt his temper drop slightly as he digested what he had just heard and sighed. He glanced over at her again, no, it still did not change things. If she still trusted him that was her own mistake she would discover, but he could never trust her. "You don't know who you're placing your trust in Sila, you don't know me or anything about me! What you see is fake. Do you think that telling me you still trust me will make things alright?!" He uttered icily.

Sila gave a small sad smile. He was right on every count, and she knew it, but that didn't change anything - she knew in her heart that Levi had good in him, and that's the part she trusted.

"If I don't know who I am placing my trust in, it's only because you won't let me know you." She said quietly. "And no, I hold no hope that my trust in you will change anything. I just wanted you to know that I consider you my friend. Although I'm not sure why." she added wryly.

Levi stared at her, but did not say a single word. He could not understand why she still considered him a friend. He felt his frustration mounting as he tried to get his point across to her. "You really want to know who I am?!" He growled, "Do you?!" His voice deepened and he began to shout when she didn't answer.

"Well let me enlighten you a little shall I?!" Grabbing his shirt he ripped it off and dropped the tatters to the ground. His black eyes bore into her and her turned around to show her his scar, "This is what I am Sila! Do know what it is?" He snarled, feeling the heat spread across his shoulder.

Sila was inexplicably frightened by the scar, which seemed to radiate blackness, anger. But she was determined to find out what she could and stared directly at it. "No, Levi. I don't." she said, her voice quavering.

Levi could feel her eyes on his scar and immediately it began to throb, his eyes glazed over and he struggled to fight against it. However the rage he was in made it all too easy and he found he could do nothing but let it happen. Turning around, his glassy eyes looked at her and a wicked smiled played on his lips. His rough voice, now different scratched as he spoke, "Well then why don't you touch it and find out! You'll be in for a surprise." He answered, his darkened face watching her like a hawk, his anger was still there though now it was replaced by darkness and shadow.

Sila noted the change in Levi's voice, and her eyes flickered to his face. It was not the face of the man she knew, and she took a step back. "B-but Raen said..." she whispered, realizing that her friend had been right to tell her not to search Levi out. She now wished she had listened.

Levi laughed cruelly, "Raen said what?! Pay no attention to that fool!" He began to walk towards her, "What is this now? You're not scared are you Sila?" He asked mockingly. He could feel her unease and smiled, drawing closer. "After all, I thought you said you still trusted me?"

"I...I do..." Sila fought between her previous words and her deepening fear. She took another step back, not noticing a tree root that threatened to trip her the next time she moved back. "Stop, Levi, please." she whispered, unable now to tear her eyes away from his shoulder.

Levi followed her as she stepped back, feeling her fear radiate off her. He laughed harshly at her words and advanced on her again, taunting "Not so bold and brave now are we?! Are you sure you didn't wish Raen was around?"

Sila gulped and tried to slow her heart, which was beating wildly. "Why are you doing this?" she tried to ask, but the words came out so quietly even she could barely hear them. She stepped back again, and the tree root did its work. Sila fell backward into the dead leaves, all the air pushed out of her lungs. She lay there, unable to move, as Levi moved closer. "Levi..." she whispered, wishing he would stop acting like this. It was as if saying his name would bring back the friend she was starting to know. "Levi..."

A dead toll of all the enemy was accounted for. Evethire ran to Altariel where she lay seemingly unconscious. Blood covered her body and the ground. Only a glassy stream where her tears rolled was clean. He looked over her until the knife was uncovered. He halted about to extract. He was hoping she was not dead.

Raen crossed the ground in his long stride approaching Evethire, stepping over the fallen corpses as he went. Once he reached the elf he nodded to him in greeting before clearing his throat to inquire after the remainder of the company, "I trust everyone else is alright?" He began politely.

Evethire looked up in mid confusion. It was the fairly tall Raen. Evethire looked back to Altariel. He put a warm hand to her cheek. She was growing cold. He released his bated breath and stood up. "Well she is in a terrible way." he answered finally stepping back. Raen seemed to hadn't noticed. "I doubt even such elves as Eorlas and Aireon can do much." He looked up very much troubled to the mans eyes. Evethire had never seen Raen very quiet but he hoped that he wouldn't be interrupted. "I think we should head to Lothlorien." he expressed firmly.

Raen looked down towards the ground and saw Altariel for the first time. Frowning he could see as Evethire had said, she was indeed gravely injured and would need attention as soon as possible. He crouched down and scanned over her wounds, knowing that they were beyond any skill of his, his methods too harsh for the she-elf. He nodded in agreement to Evethire and replied, "Indeed, if she is to have any chance at all, we will have to hasten towards Lothlórien with all speed for she will not survive a night in the wilds."

Evethire felt such gratitude towards this man. Nodding he spoke quietly "Then it is settled, will you give word to the men and ladies. I think it is time to make our leave."

Raen nodded and took a step back before adding quietly, "I shall seek the advice of my brother, he may be able to do something to help her until we reach Lothlórien." He nodded towards the dagger, “That shall have to be removed before we leave.” He knew that Levi's healing skills would be of valuable use, yet he only hoped that Levi himself had cooled off sufficiently.

Evethire bent down as he heard Raen's footsteps depart. He looked at Altariel and then caught her legs in a tight grip and eased her back away from the blood marked tree. She was still as lifeless as a stone. She headed towards Blethian, who stood apparently frightened of goblins. Evethire paid no heed. Lifting Altariel onto his horse he tightened the girth and secured his somewhat small amount of treasures. Then he silently fetched her horse. Serithion was obviously causing trouble and would not budge. After a bit of fierce elvish Evethire returned and mournfully mounted his horse. The wet mass of his friend drooped in front of him. He blessed her and looked towards the gathering people. It was a sad time for him. Guilt fluttered in his blood like poison and also like poison it clouded his mind. It was time to leave her doom. Though hope faded, the though of the elves brought light to dim hearts.

Turning away from Evethire, Raen walked towards the rest of the group and waited until he had all of their attention before addressing them all, not wasting anytime, "We shall press on with all speed to Lothlórien due to the severe injuries of Lady Altariel. I would advise you all to prepare to leave at once." He knew that it would normally take them until the next day to reach Lothlórien, but they would have to ride throughout he night now in order to get there as soon as possible.

He scanned the area around him until he spotted Ari and with a smile he walked over. Catching her into a strong embrace he ensured she was alright before asking, "Is Sila alright? She was quite shaken when I left her." He glanced around for Sila’s face, but couldn’t see her anywhere. Deciding that she must be getting ready to leave, he turned back towards Ari, however the confused look on her face told him enough. “You haven’t seen her since the battle have you?!” He asked. Seeing Ari shake her head he cursed before scanning around, hoping that he would be able to spot her. She was nowhere to be seen. Raen closed his eyes and swallowed hard, already knowing that he wouldn’t see her. Glancing back at Ari he spoke quickly, “Prepare to leave, everything is alright, I shall catch up with you presently!”

He spun around and headed over to where he was with Sila last. Scanning around one last time in vain, he headed towards the trees where Levi had disappeared to. He cursed loudly to himself, realising his stupidity in believing Sila. He should have known she would go after Levi and kept her with him. With these last thoughts in his mind, he quickened his pace, praying that he wouldn’t arrive to late and that Levi had managed to stay away from her. He heard shouts from further ahead in the trees and broke into a run. Crashing through the trees he covered the ground as quickly as he could, desperate to reach Sila.

Once he was within earshot, he slowed and became extremely silent as he approached. He could hear Levi’s snarl through the trees and waited with baited breath to hear Sila reply. He gave a small sigh when he heard her and continued on. Soon he had nearly reached them and he pulled out a dagger, keeping it ready in his right hand. He could tell that Levi was extremely angry, yet he appeared to be putting up some kind of a fight to control his temper if he had not attacked her.

Suddenly it went silent and he could hear neither of them. A few moments later Levi’s laughter could be heard. Raen started forward and could feel Levi’s presence before he even saw him. That meant only one thing - his scar. Sure enough, as they came into Raen’s view he could see Levi’s scar and knew what must be happening to his brother. His heart missed a beat when he could not see Sila, fearing for his friend. If anything happened to her he would not forgive himself, the fault being his own. Drawing closer, he spied her on the ground with Levi advancing.

Knowing that now was the time to rescue Sila before Levi laid a finger on her, Raen came crashing through the trees and sprang forward, putting himself in between them both. He caught them both by complete surprise, and using this to his advantage, he swiftly grabbed Sila and set her on her feet. His black eyes searched hers briefly before turning to meet his brother. “Levi are you out of your mind?! What are you doing?!” He spoke forcefully to his brother, trying to knock some sense into him.

~*~

Levi advanced on Sila, now towering over her. He paused briefly when she continued to call his name and struggled against the grip that was firmly placed over him, but his wrath was too great. His mind was bent on revenge and hatred and there was nothing Sila could do. He growled in frustration as she called his name and was about to lunge at her when suddenly he was intercepted. He stopped in complete surprise and watched as Sila was helped to her feet, his mind not registering what was happening until it was too late. He heard Raen’s voice and his face darkened. “Get out of my way!” He snarled.

Raen remained unmoved, putting a hand out to protect Sila. He could see by Levi’s eyes that he was no longer in control of himself and he had to be stopped somehow to prevent it taking complete hold of him. His eyes never left Levi’s and he softly whispered to Sila, “Get out of here now! Leave and join the rest of the company. Once you reach them, tell them all to ride onto Lothlórien with all speed, they cannot afford to waste anymore time. I will find you all there or catch you on your way.” He risked taking one glance at Sila, his eyes telling her he meant every word, “Go this time Sila. Don’t look back until you are clear of the trees and do not dare stay. The life of Lady Altariel depends on this hasty departure and I do not want you to watch what will take place here. You must go!” He finished sternly, letting her know there was no room for negotiation and he meant what he said. “Go!” He shouted before pulling out a dagger and pushing Levi back to avoid him doing anything. “Well brother, I think it is time for us to have our little fight is it not?” He spat harshly to Levi and waited for him to draw a dagger from the tree. Despite Levi’s state, Raen would fight cleanly for as long as possible. He circled his brother, watching his every move, but keeping Sila in the corner of his eye. Once she was out of sight, he lunged at Levi and their blades met with a clash.

((I live! Well, barely. Sorry I've been a little busy lately, and then I was sick for a couple of weeks, this is the first time I've been allowed on the computer in a while. So hopefully, getting better, coming back?))

Ari looked on with worry as the others evaluated Altariel's injuries. She had not emerged unscathed, but she wasn't quite as bad off. She was sure she would be back to normal soon. Only a couple of cuts and bruises, nothing she hadn't suffered before.

She smiled as Raen came over but her face fell at his stony look. Apparently they needed to get going, as Altariel was worse off than she had previously thought.

"Are you alright?" He asked, looking her over to make sure she had not suffered anything to serious.

She replied with a small nod, feeling a little to weary to make conversation too much at the moment. He gave her a strong hug and she winced as he squeezed her arm but returned the gesture all the same. She was happy that everyone was alive, if not well. She noticed him looking around, and then he asked

"Is Sila alright? She was quite shaken when I left her."

He looked around, a slightly worried look on his face but nothing she was too alarmed about. She figured it was only because they needed to hurry up and leave, and they still needed to gather everything together.

"I haven't seen her in a while, I thought she was with you and Levi over by the...bodies, I guess." She swallowed hard as she thought of the number of dead goblins that were the aftermath of the battle. Raen looked concerned, then glanced around the area, as if hoping to catch a glimpse of Sila coming towards them. She caught his eye again and saw a look of intense worry unlike anything she had seen there before.

“You haven’t seen her since the battle have you?!” Raen nearly shouted that as he whipped his head around swiftly, as if half expecting Sila to be hiding somewhere. She shook her head slowly, not knowing what kind of reaction this would provoke or what he was so worried about. She didn't think Sila would be in any danger now that the battle was over.

“Prepare to leave, everything is alright, I shall catch up with you presently!” Raen urged her to continue helping to go as he gently kissed her forehead and took off running in the other direction.

She stared after him as he went, wondering where he thought Sila was. She didn't want her friend to be in any danger but at the same time she knew Raen wouldn't want her to be wherever it was. So she only continued getting ready to leave while all these thoughts weighed on her mind.

((Not quite as long as the others, I'm afraid...))

They went on, but not before Raen and his brother had started a tussle between themselves. Evethire was getting cautious of Altariels health. As Eorlas and Aireon drew up on such brave steeds Evethire took the decision to move on.
"I shall have to go on, this will never save her now." Eorlas nodded. Evethire continued "They will have to follow on."
Eorlas seemed to understand.

Altariel was as limp as a dead fish. Her lips were glowing a violet colour and her short breaths were very shallow. Her skin felt like dry ice. Her clothes were stained in crimson blood.

The journey on was to betricky, if only they could make it to the elves who now lingered in small groups in Lothlorien. A few stronge ents stayed still in watch of unwanted foes. Evethire knew this and was determined to get through safely.
He turned back to the company "Im departing now, those who will accompany me now, We leave in hast. Follow those who wish to linger." He nodded to Raen and then was off with a few of the company.

Trees creaked and let brached be heard snapping and waning. They were cantering at the start but soon dropped to trot. The horses were winding to and fro between great branches. The light flashed in strong beams. The canopy was thick and lush. The wind was up now and started to hurry the leaves in every direction. Evethire had never seen an ent. They were strange to him. The stories had impressed him but now was not the time to dwaddle on such a matter.

They were rushing for a opening in front of them. It was just visible. The light flooded in great bounds.Hope was near Evethire automaticly thought.
Then from nowhere it seemed a massive log was hurtled to the ground on their path. Loud whispers were hear roaring out a different language. They sounded angry. Evethire shouted in a form of Elvish "Be still, we are passing through unwilling to harm thee." It felt like a heavy blanket being removed. The sir seemed to still again and only low sleeping breaths distubed the quiet. Evethire looked ahead. The log was unmoved by his words and so it was to be jumped. "We will need to jump it my friends." With that he let Blethian have his head. Serithion followed as Evethire held the reins. He was nervous that it was bigger than he thought. Blethian raced up and jumped it easily. The other horses were coming. When everyone had ggot by the obsticle the path was clear. Racing ahead, with Eorlas in close pursuit Evethire got free of the trees and was glad to see open plains. Lothlorien was north to them. He slowed down a little so the others caught up. "Should we wait for Raen, Eorlas?" His cousin looked worried. "Evethire, go, for Altariel.We will come after."
Evethire took the lead. Blethian started off towards Lorien. The light he just noticed was waining.

(this is complete tripe but Iv got terrible writers block!)

((Okay just a few things I want to make clear to everyone - firstly no one knows where Raen and Levi are or that they are fighting apart from Sila and also everyoneis to go with Evethire towards Lothlórien (with all haste!) my two are well able to look after themselves and Raen told them all to leave so everyone just continue on Okay then here we go!!))

Levi sprang back as quick as lightning and kept a distance from Raen while he readjusted his grip on the dagger and waited for an opening. His eyes blazed in rage and he was in such a haste to attack his brother, so great was his fury that he did not watch out for Raen's own quick moves, until it was too late. Raen's dagger struck his arm and he had quickly retreated as quick as a flash. Levi cursed and he glared at Raen, "I wouldn't get too sure of yourself, brother," he uttered the last word with great disgust, "This is more than a mere little game we are playing."

Raen caught Levi's glare and they held each other's gaze for several moments. Their eyes both black, so similar; yet if one was to look at them now they could see that one pair was engulfed by shadow and a dark infuriation while the others were filled with a dangerous anger, but also a wary and disappointed glint. Raen gave a slight sigh, disappointed that this was what his brother was reduced to. Not only that but he knew that it would only get worse with time, not better. He could see that the mad rage inside Levi would consume him eventually, as it was he was already wild and fighting only for victory and revenge. Concentrating only on attack rather than defence. This was why Raen had managed to draw the first blood so swiftly. Levi wouldn't let him get away with that again.

Replying calmly he answered Levi, "Quite the opposite I assure you Levi, this is far more than a game." Raen too was smouldering in anger inside, however he did not let it surmount him but transferred it through to his energy, his every move definite and forceful. He was so angered with Levi for attacking Sila, angered with himself for allowing it to happen. Without giving Levi an opportunity to make a move, he darted forward again towards his chest, however his blade was intercepted by the other. Levi would not make the same mistake again.

Levi smiled in slight triumph as he deferred Raen's attack and without giving himself or his brother a proper chance to recover he retaliated and drove his own dagger towards Raen's abdomen. Raen caught him just in time and pushed back as much as he could, Levi still attempting to break through his barrier. Small beads of perspiration began to form on Raen's brow as he attempted to turn his body away from the dagger. It shot with pain as his wound was tugged at, however he bit his lip instead of cursing and hoped Levi wouldn't have noticed or remembered. He should have known better.

A twisted grin appeared on Levi's face as he remembered Raen's injury. He would use this to his advantage now, weaken him by attacking that area and getting him to use that side more. He began to move closer to Raen and swiftly he feigned a thrust, pulling out at the last minute while Raen went to block him before catching him across the cheek. Grinning he mocked, "Tut tut you should be careful! Tiring already are we?"

Raen's concentration was focused on shielding his wound that he wasn't prepared for Levi. He closed his eyes in pain and cursing his stupidity, at the same time he felt his warm blood flow down his cheek. He ignored Levi's taunting and shouted at him instead, "What has gotten into you Levi?! Had I not come when I did, I dread to think of what would have happened! You put Sila's life in jeopardy and for that you must pay!" He quickly flipped his dagger into his left hand and with his right punched Levi squarely in the jaw, knocking him off balance. Taking advantage of this he flung his dagger at him and it embedded itself into Levi's leg.

Levi swore in pain, his jaw protesting as he opened his injured mouth. A rivulet of blood came out of his mouth and dribbled down his chin. Pulling the dagger out of his leg he advanced on Raen, "It is you who shall be paying for this! And once I am finished here Sila shall pay for her insolence and idiocy! That fool of a maiden has crossed the line, ransom or not!" He flung the dagger back at Raen who caught it with ease.

Raen felt his own blood begin to boil as Levi spoke of Sila in such a manner. "You lay a finger on her and I swear I will kill you and even the other side will not be able to bring you back!" He retorted furiously, lunging at him. Their blades sparked off each other and they both swung into action, using any trick they could think of to gain the advantage. Being so closely matched it was hard for both of them, each only inflicting an injury by luck or a mistake of the other. Their anger was the only thing preventing them from tiring. Raen took the risk of leaving an opening by his wound as he rapidly turned to drive his dagger towards Levi shoulder, knowing it was the only way his plan would work.

"Not if I kill you now!" Levi answered, "How can you be so sure? This is who I was and who I am becoming, nothing can change that. Are you sure that even death can solve everything?" Spying the opening Levi lunged forward, unaware of what Raen had planned. He did not realise what had happened until he had pushed his own shoulder as far as the base of his neck straight into Raen's dagger, missing his opportunity as Raen swerved away, showing his back briefly. Levi slashed at his back and left a long gash, ripping the shirt in two.

Raen's lips curled into a smile as his plan worked and considered a gash on the back far better then a thrust at his wound. He did not leave his back open for anymore attacks and swung around to face Levi once again, "You say it is who you are becoming again, yet have you even tried to fight it or is this what you want?! Try and deny that you knew those goblins were there and what their purpose was!" He spat, "I have tried to be understanding towards you brother! I knew that it must be difficult to live the way you do and I respected you despite anything you have done because you were my brother! I accepted you openly and this is what you do in return!"

Levi growled angrily at Raen's remarks and fought inside with himself. He did not know what it was like, the pain and the struggle, "I do not need your understanding or acceptance!" He yelled furiously, "What business is it of yours how I choose to live or act?!" He laughed cruelly, "So I shall agree openly with you then, of course I knew of the goblins and their purpose. All I will say to you is that the dark days are not over brother, they are merely biding their time. The King of Gondor shall not have restored peace for much longer!" His steely eyes stared through Raen's, "Tell me, you fight for neither the 'good' or 'bad', why is this so? You owe nothing to your fellow men yet you have fought and refused every summon sent to you to help the other side. Are you afraid?"

Raen glared at his brother in disgust, but decided to keep him distracted for as long as possible, "Afraid? What do you think I am?!" He shot back, "I do not fight for anyone but myself, nor do I owe allegiance to any other than myself. I am no servant unlike you." He watched Levi's moves carefully as his anger increased, he knew that his brother would soon explode with all the constrained rage he held inside. "Whether there are dark days ahead or not, it matters not to me for I shall have no part in it other than my own survival. I don't care for these wars and I shall play no part in them either."

Levi lunged at Raen in fury, "I am no servant!" He yelled, "You will feel the wrath of what is ahead - I will make sure of it!" He continued to fight incessantly, determined to find a way to kill his evenly matched brother. He knew that Raen was weaker due to his injury, he just had to find a way around his tricks. His anger had completely engulfed him, nothing would stop him now...

Raen sprang back and fought for his life. His wound was causing him trouble and slowing him down. He bit his lip and felt the metallic taste of blood in his mouth as he tried every trick he could think of against Levi. He was now uncontrollable and Raen knew that a dark energy was flowing through his veins - he was growing stronger. Suddenly Levi punched him in the abdomen and Raen doubled over in pain, forgetting momentarily to keep Levi in sight. This was a deadly mistake. Levi kicked him in the head and knocked him down to the ground. Looking up through blurred vision Raen watched as Levi raised his dagger above his head to deliver the fatal thrust...

((Well, Sila's going to come bursting into the story again! XD Um...I'm a little confused as to who was hanging behind, but I THINK it was Eorlas and Aireon, so that's how I'm going to play it. :love: Wonderful post, Wren.))

“Go this time Sila. Don’t look back until you are clear of the trees and do not dare stay. The life of Lady Altariel depends on this hasty departure and I do not want you to watch what will take place here. You must go! Go!”

Sila listened to Raen this time, her heart pounding in her ears, and quickly got to her feet and fled in the general direction of the camp. The trees grabbed at her, and roots tripped her. Her hair was mussed and full of leaves, her eyes were wild with fright, and she fled.

It was in that state that she came to the camp. Her things were as she had left them, and she saddled Tasar with shaking hands. It wasn't until she saw damp spots on the leather that she realized she was sobbing. Not waiting for anything, Sila tightened the saddle straps and mounted. She urged Tasar into a canter, but quickly slowed her down again. Sila looked over her shoulder at the empty camp, Raen and Levi's horses and packs the only testament to remaining people. She heard a loud yell from the woods and almost turned around to go back. Then she remembered the wild look of hatred in Levi's eyes and urged Tasar forward yet again, in the direction she could see the company had taken.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid!" Sila berated herself, still sobbing. "I should have listened. I should have listened..." Tasar galloped until people came in sight. The larger part of the company was almost out of sight, but closer, hanging back as if considering turning around, were two of Evethire's people: Eorlas and Aireon. Sila reached them in tears, and she realized when they looked at her with worry and horror that she must look a sight. She was still shaking, and tears streamed down her cheeks - tears of relief that she was alive, fear for Raen and Levi both, and a realization that she could have died.

"We have to keep going." she choked out. "We have to get to Lothlorien, quickly!"

Ëorlas pursed his lips together tightly against the wind as they rode with haste toward the opening of trees ahead. He suddenly felt a burning sensation arise in his stomach, one of panic at first, as if a thousand Orcs were pursuing them on their tail, but it quickly turned more to urgency. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Evethire riding his beautiful horse at great speed, but he dared not to look at the expression he was envisioning on his cousin's face. They had sped off before Ëorlas even had a change to see Altariel, and the fear of it being worse than imagined wasn't something he could bare. He gently tugged on Arodas's reins to keep alongside Evethire and avoiding his glance until he spoke."Should we wait for Raen, Ëorlas?"

Ëorlas took a glance back the way they had come, now only a blur, and then returned to Evethire with a worried expression. Uncertainty glimmered in his eyes as he forced himself to speak, knowing a decision was needed. Breathing heavily, he answered, "Evethire, go, for Altariel." Arodas reared up and faced back toward the direction of camp. "We will come after."

With a vague nod Evethire took off again with Altariel and the rest while Ëorlas stayed behind, pondering whether to head back or wait where he stood. A tender warming smile crossed his face when Aireon came galloping back toward him. She smiled and trotted up beside him. "Why didn't you tell me you were stopping?" she asked happily, but in a stern tone. Ëorlas sensed she was annoyed at this and apologized.

They waited in silence until a shaded figure on horseback could be seen in the distance. As it drew closer Ëorlas realized it was Sila, the woman from the twin's entourage. Tears were streaming down her face like a river and her cheeks were rosy. Ëorlas watched nearly horrified at Sila. He knew not what she was crying hysterically about. Certainly not Altariel, he guessed, for they were merely acquaintances.

"We have to keep going." she choked out. "We have to get to Lothlorien, quickly!"

Sila was about to take off on her horse. "Wait!" Ëorlas cried. "What about Raen and his brother? Are they not coming as well?" he questioned, pulling back a piece of blonde hair that suddenly blew in his face.

Ari turned her horse back as she heard the sounds of Sila's voice. Her horse trotted anxiously around, trying to canter off, but she reigned it in and urged it towards Sila, where she was galloping towards Ëorlas and Aireon.

The three exchanged a few words as she rode up, looking in shock at the tear-streaked face of her friend. She wondered if Raen had found her, and what she was missing here.

"Sila, where's Raen? and Levi? Is everything alright?" She asked, her brow wrinkling as she took in the sight of Sila, looking horrified and shaking as she sat mounted on her horse. She seemed tense, like a spring about to snap, and anxious.

Ari was filled with worry not just for her but for Raen and Levi as well. She knew she didn't dare try to go back and find either of them. Raen had made that quite clear before he took off. She studied Sila's face, searching for signs of what could have happened, but found nothing.

((Hope this is all alright, trying to get back into the feel of things here..))

Sila took a shuddering breath, trying to sort out her thoughts enough to communicate. All she could hear in her head was Stupid! You were so stupid!

"We...we have to go. We can't wait for them." she said, her voice shaking. She looked into Ari's eyes, her friend's worry and confusion showing. Sila knew her eyes probably showed her feelings well. "Ari..." she gulped and tried to keep from crying. "We have to leave them. Rae--Raen will catch up if he can."

"But what about Levi?" Ari asked quickly. Sila licked her dry lips and looked away.

"Raen will catch up if he can. We must go, now!" Not waiting, she reached over and grabbed the reins of Ari's horse and spurred her own to a canter. The other two followed. Sila soon let go of the other horse and kept riding, her fear and worry slipping to the back of her mind as her adreneline began to wane and weariness threatened to overtake her. The rest of the company came in sight, and Sila reigned Tasar in, thankful for a chance to slow down. She was tired, afraid, and heart-broken. Why did Levi's loss of trust mean so much?

(Sorry for my absence, and please pardon my writing, I was hit in the side of the head today in tennis, darn that ball hehehe! But don’t worry it didn’t hurt at all…that of course could be a good thing or a bad thing! YAY I’m overjoyed this wonderful thread is picking up again!!

Evethire’s group galloped onward toward Lothlorien with great speed. Tilting her head back slightly, Aireon’s bright blue eyes gazed at the murky forest, noticing Ëorlas turning around. Pulling her reins sideways, Bainren quickly made a half circle, and galloped behind Ëorlas. Smiling she trotted up beside him asking in a happily yet stern manner, "Why didn't you tell me you were stopping?" Ëorlas sensed she was annoyed at this and apologized, although she only gave a small laugh as her cheeks flushed.

All color drained from her warm face as Aireon saw Sila approach with tear stained cheeks. Through choking sobs the only words audible, “We have to keep going.” Finishing with, “We have to get to Lothlorien, quickly!” the last word seemed pained and Aireon wished she could do something for Sila console her in anyway possible. Just then Sila’s best friend Ari pulled in alongside her asking, “Sila, where's Raen? and Levi? Is everything alright?" her brow wrinkling as she took in the sight of Sila, looking horrified and shaking as she sat mounted on her horse. Sila seemed tense, like a spring about to snap, and anxious.

Searching Sila’s face distorted with pain and guilt Aireon found only unwanted subjects. “We...we have to go. We can't wait for them." She said her voice shaking. Aireon sensed the departing urge welling inside Sila. "Ari..." she gulped and tried to keep from crying. "We have to leave them. Rae--Raen will catch up if he can."

"But what about Levi?" Ari asked quickly. Sila licked her dry lips and looked away.

"Raen will catch up if he can. We must go, now!" With that the four took off speeding toward Evethire and his group. Taking one last glance at the fading forest Aireon hoped whatever mess the two were in that the result wasn’t binding. ‘And for everyone’s sake, especially Sila’s, let them return alive and well. Please Valar let them live!’ the plead swept across her mind, and she wrinkled her nose wondering why she thought those exact words, live. They weren’t in any peril which her unconscious mind perceived from Sila’s face…were they?

Seeing Evethire and their comrades shortly ahead those disturbing thoughts flung from her mind. Galloping fast, Bainren’s steady hoof beats pounded the ground as she edged alongside Evethire, who carried the wounded Altariel. Looking down upon her friend, she saw Altariel’s face was pasty and pallid, “Will she be alright?” Aireon whispered.

Evethire returned her question with a worried expression then answering finally, “I don’t know,” then returned his firm gaze toward the road ahead.

Gritting her teeth, Aireon slipped a slender hand into her bag which patted her thigh with every downward beat. Long fingers fished around until pulling a clean cloth and a few herbs from the bag. “Here, this isn’t much but it will have to do, and will suffice for the journey,” Aireon commented bringing the herbs and bandage to eyelevel. Evethire glanced over, with a surprised expression almost motioned to stop but Aireon cut in first, “No-Keep going, I can multi-task,” she told him finally satisfied with her handy work, “That’s what females are for aren’t they,” she joked, as she inched Bainren as close to Evethire as she could. Evethire gave a small smile as Aireon applied the bandage, “That should at least stop the bleeding and calm the swelling and pain, but not much in the case of healing, although it will do a little.” She informed him.

Returning her own gaze toward the company her bright blue orbs rested on Sila. Slowing a bit, she came aligned with Sila’s horse. Observing tears still running down her soft cheeks, Aireon put a gentle hand on her shoulder, “Do not cry my dear, everything will turn out alright,” she offered words of comfort. At least the caring thought ceased Sila’s tears, but sadness still lay in her eyes, and the sure feeling of guilt was evident. Noting this Aireon used it to her advantage adding truthfully, “It isn’t your fault.” Then wrinkling her brow remembering Sila’s words about Raen and Levi, she assumed the worry fell upon them rather than Altariel. A kind smile washed over Aireon’s face giving solitude to Sila, “Raen and Levi will be alright, you’ll see. Returning a bright smile to that pretty face of yours is I’m sure what they wanted instead of this blubbering which is streaking your cheeks,” Sila gave a small half laugh through her crying. Aireon gave a last smile and nod reverting to her place between Evethire, and Rovan. Dust flicked behind the group as the day waned, ‘Hold on Altariel we are getting closer, you will make it my friend.” She thought to herself looking with worried eyes at Altariel.

(Wow sorry this is horrible, and I'm not fishing for compliments I just think its a VERY bad post! Better next time!)

Weariness was setting over Evethire, even though his mind was set on other things. An elf can die from being struck or of a broken heart.

Altariel roughly swung in the beat of Blethian. Her head was hanging slightly. Her breath was bearly noticeable. She passed onto the wrong side of life. She was fading rapidly. It was a fools hope that Evethire hung his hope on.

With severe bounding of Blethian the land quickly passed. They were heading straight now. Evethire granted he could see the tall mallorn trees. Though his eyes may have been cheated from the dust of the rapid journey.
It went on. The time was rushing as fast. Evethire had lost some of the soundsof hooves a while back. He hoped they were okay. He blessed their responce to the sudden decision of departure.

He slowed a little to keep Blethian steady. He was still going in gallop when Aireon came up beside him.
“Will she be alright?” Aireon whispered.

Evethires stomach tightened in reality, he wanted to know the same thing. He looked at Aireon with severe worry. “I don’t know,” then returned his firm gaze toward the road ahead.

They were catching up on the chase of time. The woods were drawing closer with every stride. He nodded to Aireon and sped up. He was determined to get there. The wind howled in his ears and the dust rose in hordes of smike after him. The first sign of Lothlorien was the shadows of cool trees swaying gently.

As he drew closer he heard song of sweet melody. He was desprite now. It grew louder and louder. He was nearly there.

Finally he reached the border, the song was mirrored in his scared head. His vision drew hasy. He halted seeing a movement ahead. Suddenly the din of many galloping horses reached his ears. He turned to see Sila, Aireon and Ari and Eorlas in front charging. It shocked him immensly to see tears from Sila and the worry for Raen and Levi covering their faces.

Evethire started to walk in to the trees hoping to see a friend rather than a face of a foe.

((Well, I suppose now's as good a time as any to get back into the story. Sorry for my lack of poasting, but there wasn't much for Aidem to say or do. Still, though, this will likely be rather short. :\ And I'm back-tracking a very wee bit.))

The rest of the group had already left when Aidem finally managed to calm himself and his horse down enough to mount and speed away from the area in which the Orcs had delayed them. The shadowed landscape of the woods wouldn't let him see very far ahead, so he had to rely heavily on hearing to tail the group acurately. A feeling of desolation settled upon him and he struggled to keep his mind blank and anxiety in check. The whole situation was just chaos, though, and everything was falling apart. Most of the group members were either injured or emotionally unfit to deal with anything else that might come their way. (Himself incuded. Though he wasn't injured yet, Aidem thought that if anything else went wrong he would end up going mad.) And Aidem couldn't help but feel sorry for Sila. Whatever had occurred back there had obviously upset her greatly, which only served to heighten his unease.

A nudge in the ribs sent his horse racing faster through darkened forest. Despite everything it was a relief to just go; to leave things behind and not really think about whatever was happening, even if it was disasterous. He realized how much more comfortable he felt alone and wondered if perhaps he should have stayed back in the city. No, comfort had never affected any of the decisions had made before and it was foolish to let it now. What mattered was that the company held together long enough to accomplish what they had set out to do. At least that's what he told himself.

(('Kay, 'kay, it's boring, I know. :rolleyes: It's all I can come up with for now though.))
